In the direction and location finding field of application, AOA, TDOA and FDOA, etc. are used to improve the performance of geolocation. But, these methods cause some limitations such as the calibrations for phase and amplitude matching and precise time synchronization among receiving channels. In this paper, We suggest a method for generating FDOA using rotating antenna and the geolocation of stationary emitter using two receivers in one platform for minimizing the limitations. We present performance of simulation results and test results of the FDOA geolocation system. The direction finding errors of the system are less than $0.1^{\circ}$ rms and the distance errors are less than 3 % compared with the practical distance.

The purpose of this research is to find out The Support Program for Helping the Homeless Reintegrate-a separate program from the homeless supporting system in which Tokyo Metropolitan is emphasizing the existing job-producing support- and its significance and possibility. For this purpose, this research was performed a literature review of the summary of the project and conducted an interview survey for private organizations(social welfare corporation, NPO corporation, etc.) which were involved in the project, and its users. This research looked into the importance and effect of Housing First Policy which is putting emphasis on the necessity of the personally needed support(life support, and work-finding support) after having to secure housing more preferentially than anything else in order for the homeless to keep up a stable living in supporting the homeless. According to Tokyo Metropolitan, 81.6% of the homeless, who were actually involved in this project, were found to make their living continuously at a district based on self-support through finding work and livelihood protection benefits, etc., thus being able to confirm its politic possibility; however, there still remain some issues to be solved in such as, housing level and continuous support of finding work.

Motivation: Protein-protein interaction plays a critical role in the biological processes. The identification of interacting proteins by bioinformatical methods can provide new lead In the functional studies of uncharacterized proteins without performing extensive experiments. Results: Protein-protein interactions are predicted by a computational algorithm based on the weighted scoring system for domain interactions between interacting protein pairs. Here we propose potential interaction domain (PID) pairs can be extracted from a data set of experimentally identified interacting protein pairs. where one protein contains a domain and its interacting protein contains the other. Every combinations of PID are summarized in a matrix table termed the PID matrix, and this matrix has proposed to be used for prediction of interactions. The database of interacting proteins (DIP) has used as a source of interacting protein pairs and InterPro, an integrated database of protein families, domains and functional sites, has used for defining domains in interacting pairs. A statistical scoring system. named "PID matrix score" has designed and applied as a measure of interaction probability between domains. Cross-validation has been performed with subsets of DIP data to evaluate the prediction accuracy of PID matrix. The prediction system gives about 50% of sensitivity and 98% of specificity, Based on the PID matrix, we develop a system providing several interaction information-finding services in the Internet. The system, named PreDIN (Prediction-oriented Database of Interaction Network) provides interacting domain finding services and interacting protein finding services. It is demonstrated that mapping of the genome-wide interaction network can be achieved by using the PreDIN system. This system can be also used as a new tool for functional prediction of unknown proteins.

Identifying orthologous paralogenes is a fundamental problem in comparative genomics and can facilitate the study of evolutionary history of the species. Existing approaches for locating paralogs make use of local alignment based algorithms such as BLAST. However, there are cases that genes with high alignment scores are not paralogenes. On the other hand, whole genome alignment tools are designed to locate orthologs. Most of these tools are based on some unique substrings (called anchors) in the corresponding orthologous pair to identify them. Intuitively, these tools may not be useful in identifying orthologous paralogenes as paralogenes are very similar and there may not be enough unique anchors. However, our study shows that this is not true. Paralogenes although are similar, they have undergone different mutations. So, there are enough unique anchors for identifying them. Our contributions include the followings. Based on this counter-intuitive finding, we propose to employ the whole genome alignment tools to help verifying paralogenes. Our experiments on five pairs of human-mouse chromosomes show that our approach is effective and can identify most of the mis-classified paralog groups (more than 80%). We verify our finding that whole genome alignment tools are able to locate orthologous paralogenes through a simulation study. The result from the study confirms our finding.

Matrix producing carcinoma of the breast is a variant of heterologous metaplastic carcinoma which is defined as "overt carcinoma with direct transition to a cartilaoenous and/or osseous stromal matrix without an intervening spindle cell zone or osteoclastic cells". This tumor is very rare, occuring in less than 0.2% of total breast carcinoma, but the prognosis is better than other metaplastic carcinoma. We experienced a case of fine needle aspiration(FNA) cytologic finding of matrix producing carcinoma of the breast. A 75-year old woman, who presented a right huge breast mass$(9{\times}8cm)$ during 10months, was examined. Mammography reveals right lateral mass with even density without calcification. Breast ultrasonography shows multifocal hypoechogenic cystic change in the huge mass, suggesting resolving hematoma or carcinoma or sarcoma with necrosis. On cytologic finding of FNA, myxoid matrix was the dominant feature and the rest of the material was composed of scanty isolated atypical cells with large irregular nuclei. The histologic finding was moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma with abundant cartilagenous matrix and focal squamous metaplasia.

This paper deals with a methodology that applies the time-varying magnetic fields produced by the cloud discharges to find the direction of thunderstorm movement. We investigated the basic performance of the magnetic field measurement system composed of multi-turn loop-type sensors, the differential amplifier and active integrator. As a result, the response characteristics of the magnetic field sensor system to sinusoidal signals was excellent. The frequency bandwidth ranges from about 1 kHz to 500 kHz, the response sensitivity was 0.16mV/nT. In addition, we proposed the algorithm that determines the direction of lightning discharges using the comparison of the output signals of right-angled loop-type magnetic field sensors. The accuracy of the direction finding of lightning discharges is fairly well within the measurement error of less than $5^{\circ}$. The magnetic field measurement system proposed in this work can be used to track the direction of thunderstorm movement.
The best coverage problem is finding a path whose worst distance to the sensor-set is the best among all paths. Instead, if the user stays close to its nearest two sensors, then the stability of the wireless connection may be guaranteed. So we consider the problem of finding a second best coverage path; given the sensor set U, a starting point s and a target point t, find a path whose worst distance to the second closest sensor is minimized. This paper presents an O(n logn) -time algorithm to find such a path. We also give experimental evidence showing that the connection to the sensor-set along a second best coverage path is more stable than that along the best coverage path.
Architectural fabrics membranes have not only the structural performance but also act as an efficient cladding to cover large areas. Because of the direct relationship between form and force distribution in tension membrane structures, form-finding procedure is an important issue. Ideally, once the optimal form is found, a uniform pre-stressing is applied to the fabric which takes the form of a minimal surface. The force density method is one of the most efficient computational form-finding techniques to solve the initial equilibrium equations. In this method, the force density ratios of the borders to the membrane is the main parameter for shape-finding. In fact, the shape is evolved and improved with the help of the stress state that is combined with the desired boundary conditions. This paper is evaluated the optimum amount of this ratio considering the curvature of the flexible boarders for structural configurations, i.e., hypar and conic membranes. Results of this study can be used (in the absence of the guidelines) for the fast and optimal design of fabric structures.
Clinical and pathologic data were reviewed in 20 patients who had have surgery for isolated aortic valvular heart disease between April 1978 and April, 1987. Hospital mortality was 10%, with no additional late mortality during a mean follow-up period of 24.1 months. Prosthetic valve failure developed in 3 patients and two had reoperation. Niety four percent of the survivors who were in NYHA Funtional class III or IV before operation are now in class I or II. Ninety percent of all patients are still alive at a maximum follow up of 9 years. The clinical histories, gross and histologic examination of valves estabilished the causes for isolated aortic valve disease: 3 rheumatic, 2 congenital bicuspid, 2 hypertention, 2 aortitis and each one case of floppy valve, medial cystic necrosis of aorta, bacterial endocarditis. But etiology was unknown in 8 cases. Sixteen patietns had myxoid degeneration, defined as significant disruption of the valve fibrosa and its replacement by acid mucosaccharides and cystic changes. Myxoid degeneration was also the primary pathologic abnormality in the patients with 2 hypertention, 2 rheumatic, 1 aortitis, 1 bacterial endocarditis, 1 floppy valve, 1 congenital bicuspid. The patients with myxoid degeneration of uncertain origin were 8. Histologic finding of all of them revealed nonspecific patients with myxoid degeneration of uncertain orgin were 8. Histologic finding of all of them revealed nonspecific chronic valvulitis with myxoid degeneration. This finding may indicate that the etiology w uld be infectious.
Objective: The objective of this research is to develop evaluation checklist for personal office furniture and apparatus to shape comfortable and efficient worksite for workers' welfare improvement, productivity enhancement and labor force preservation, and to identify office work environment by applying the checklist. Background: Because most office workers work using computers in a sitting posture, the ratio of office workers among total musculoskeletal disorders patients is forecast to increase. In this regard, an effort to prevent and manage such musculoskeletal disorders is required. Method: This research developed evaluation checklist for personal office furniture and apparatus by examining 25 domestic and international ergonomic literature and anthropometric data. This research carried out a fact-finding survey targeting the A Office and B Office of one public agency using the checklist. Results: Although, the checklist items on desks, chairs, computers and other goods conformed to the checklist standards, the following items did not conformed: desk height adjustment, seat board depth adjustment, lumbar support depth, foot rest, wrist rest, mouse tray, headset, speaker phone and Bluetooth. Conclusion: The evaluation checklist for personal office furniture and apparatus and fact-finding survey results are considered to be used as basic data for office work environment and workers' welfare improvement. Application: The information drawn from this research can be helpful to manufacturers' design and manufacture of ergonomic furniture and apparatus.
