진공증착중합법을 이용한 6FDA/4-4'DDE 폴리이미드 박막의 제조와 전기적 특성 (Electrical Properties and Preparation of 6FDA/4-4'DDE Polyimide Thin films by Bapor Deposition Polymerization method)

  • 본 논문에서는 건식중합법에 속하는 진공증착 중합법을 이용하여 내열 절연성 박막 을 제작하고 열경화 온도에 따른 박막의 물성과 전기적 특성에 대해 연구하였다. hexafluoroisopropyliden-2,2-bis[phthalicanhydride](6FDA)와 4,4'-diamino diphenyl ether (DDE) 단량체를 화학량론적으로 최적의 온도인 $214^{\circ}C$, $137^{\circ}C$부분에서 같은 증발율을 보일 때 폴리이미드를 형성하였다. 진공증착 중합된 박막은 열경화에 의해 이미드특성 피이크가 증가되며, 폴리아믹산의 형태에서 폴리이미드 형태로 축중합되어짐을 알 수 있었다. 열경화 온도가 증가함에 따라 박막의 두께는 감소되고 굴절율은 증가된다. 열경화 온도가 $300^{\circ}C$인 경우 최적임을 알았고, 이 온도에서 열경화 시킨 폴리이미드의 전기적 특성에서 100Hz~ 200kHz주파수에서는 3.7의 비유전율을 나타내었고, 유전정접은 0.008의 낮은 값을 보였다. 또한, 30~에서 약1.05$\times$1015$\Omega$cm의 저항율을 보였다.

열처리 시 S/Se 분말 비율에 따른 Cu2ZnSnSe4 (CZTSSe) 박막의 합성 및 특성 평가 (Studies on Effect of S/Se Ratio on the Properties of Cu2ZnSn(SxSe1-x)4 (CZTSSe) Thin Films by Sulfo-Selenization of Stacked Precursor Thin Films)

  • $Cu_2ZnSn(S_xSe_{1-x})_4$ (CZTSSe) absorber thin films were prepared on Mo coated soda lime glass substrates by sulfo-selenization of sputtered stacked Zn-Sn-Cu precursor thin films. The Zn-Sn-Cu precursor thin films were sulfo-selenized inside a graphite box containing S and Se powder using rapid thermal processing furnace at $540^{\circ}C$ in Ar atmosphere with pre-treatment at $300^{\circ}C$. The effect of different S/Se ratio on the structural, compositional, morphological and electrical properties of the CZTSSe thin films were studied using XRD (X-ray diffraction), XRF (X-ray fluorescence analysis), FE-SEM (field-emission scanning electron microscopy), respectively. The XRD, FE-SEM, XRF results indicated that the properties of sulfo-selenized CZTSSe thin films were strongly related to the S/Se composition ratio. In particular, the CZTS thin film solar cells with S/(S+Se)=0.25 shows best conversion efficiency of 4.6% ($V_{oc}$ : 348 mV, $J_{sc}$ : $26.71mA/cm^2$, FF : 50%, and active area : $0.31cm^2$). Further detailed analysis and discussion for effect of S/Se composition ratio on the properties CZTSSe thin films will be discussed.

단백질/계면활성제 혼합계에서 기포안정성에 대한 계면조성과 분자확산 (Surface Composition and Molecular Diffusion on the Stability of Foams Formed from Protein/Surfactant Mixtures)

  • A conductimetric study of foam formed from mixture of the protein, ${\beta}-lactoglobulin$, and the nonioinc surfactant, SML, revealed that their stability was reduced at concentrations of SML in the range $3{\sim}10mM$. The interaction of SML with ${\beta}-lactoglobulin$ was investigated by fluorimetry and a dissociation constant of $0.2{\mu}M$ was calculated for the complex. Surface tension studies confirmed the presence of interaction between the two components and provided evidence for the progressive displacement of ${\beta}-lactogloblin$ from the air/water interface with increasing SML concentration. Experiments using air-suspended microscopic thin liquid films revealed transitions in the chainage characteristics and thickness of the film at SML concentrations below that which resulted in destabilization of the foam. However, measurements of surface mobility of fluorescent-labeled ${\beta}-lactoglobulin$ by a photobleaching method identified that a transition to a mobile system occurred at a SML concentration which correlated with the onset of instability in the disperse phase. The results would indicate that maintenance of the viscoelastic properties of the surface is paramount importance in determining the stability of interfaces comprising mixtures of protein and surfactant.

탄화규소 화학기상증착 공정에서 CFD를 이용한 균일도 향상 연구 (Improvement of uniformity in chemical vapor deposition of silicon carbide using CFD)

  • 탄화규소의 화학기상증착 중에 두께 균일성을 향상시키기 위하여 평행하게 회전하는 3단 서셉터를 포함하는 CVD 장치에 대하여 전산유체역학(CFD) 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다. 실제 증착 실험에서는 단 간의 두께 균일성은 상당히 만족스러웠으나 같은 단 위에서는 위치에 따라 두께가 균일하지 못한 3C-SiC 상이 얻어지는 것을 확인하였다. 불균일의 원인으로는 서셉터의 회전 속도에 따른 영향으로 판단되었다. CFD 결과로부터 단 간의 균일성을 향상시키기 위해서는 120도 분기 노즐을 주입구에 설치하는 것이 바람직할 것으로 판단되었으며 단 내의 균일도 향상은 회전 속도를 줄임으로써 가능할 것으로 생각된다. 이렇게 제작된 탄화규소가 증착된 흑연 부품은 고경도, 내산화성 및 분진 억제 특성을 갖고 있어서 반도체용 부품으로 사용될 수 있다.

The Concentration-Dependent Distribution of Tris(4,7'-diphenyl-1,10'-phenanthroline) Ruthenium (II) within Sol-Gel-Derived Thin Films

  • Organic dye-doped glasses, viz., ruthenium (II) tris(4,7'-diphenyl-1,10'-phenanthroline) $[Ru(dpp)_3]^{2+}$ incorporated into thin silica xerogel films produced by the sol-gel method, were prepared and their $O_2$ quenching properties investigated as a function of the $[Ru(dpp)_3]^{2+}$ concentration (3-400 ${\mu}M$) within the xerogel. The ratio of the luminescence from the $[Ru(dpp)_3]^{2+}$-doped films in the presence of $N_2$ and $O_2$ ($I_{N2}/I_{O2}$) was used to describe the film sensitivity to $O_2$ quenching. ($I_{N2}/I_{O2}$ changed three-fold over the $[Ru(dpp)_3]^{2+}$ concentration range. Time-resolved intensity decay studies showed that there are two discrete $[Ru(dpp)_3]^{2+}$ populations within the xerogels (${\tau}_1$ ~ 300 ns; ${\tau}_2$ ~ 3000 ns) whose relative fraction changes as the $[Ru(dpp)_3]^{2+}$ concentration changes. The increased $O_2$ sensitivity that is observed at the higher $[Ru(dpp)_3]^{2+}$ concentrations is a manifestation of a greater fraction of the 3000 ns $[Ru(dpp)_3]^{2+}$ species (more susceptible to $O_2$ quenching). A model is presented to describe the observed response characteristics resulting from $[Ru(dpp)_3]^{2+}$ distribution within the xerogel.

Photoelectrochemical Cell Study on Closely Arranged Vertical Nanorod Bundles of CdSe and Zn doped CdSe Films

  • Closely arranged CdSe and Zn doped CdSe vertical nanorod bundles were grown directly on FTO coated glass by using electrodeposition method. Structural analysis by XRD showed the hexagonal phase without any precipitates related to Zn. FE-SEM image showed end capped vertically aligned nanorods arranged closely. From the UV-vis transmittance spectra, band gap energy was found to vary between 1.94 and 1.98 eV due to the incorporation of Zn. Solar cell parameters were obtained by assembling photoelectrochemical cells using CdSe and CdSe:Zn photoanodes, Pt cathode and polysulfide (1M $Na_2S$ + 1M S + 1M NaOH) electrolyte. The efficiency was found to increase from 0.16 to 0.22 upon Zn doping. Electrochemical impedance spectra (EIS) indicate that the charge-transfer resistance on the FTO/CdSe/polysulfide interface was greater than on FTO/CdSe:Zn/polysulfide. Cyclic voltammetry results also indicate that the FTO/CdSe:Zn/polysulfide showed higher activity towards polysulfide redox reaction than that of FTO/CdSe/polysulfide.

  • Many child actors have appeared in various movies as the Korean film industry continues to evolve. As more children appear in violent and raunchy scenes, there are more concerns about the movie's effect on child actors. In some Western countries, many strategies have been developed for child actors, but for the Korean movie industry, the conditions are still poor for them. Although children who enter the concrete operational period are able to think logically and systematically, they are yet limited by their experiences. Adolescents in the formal operational period try to deal with all of the possibilities and assumptions logically and systematically with freedom from realistic contents and experiences. This period is very important because adolescents become more sensitive to others' feelings and they should develop their ego identity. Several studies have reported the indirect experiences through media including how the movie affected children and adolescents negatively. Depending on the individual's morality, judgment and emotional status, these effects were variable and inconsistent and could be relieved by several interventions. We could anticipate much bigger emotional effect on child actors who are acting directly and then are confronting themselves in the scene. Therefore, we suggest that the emotional effects of the movies on child actors can be managed properly by considering children's cognitive ability and emotional status, and establishing protective strategies before they are exposed to problematic scenes. Of course, it should be followed by evaluating them after the exposure and with follow-up management, if necessary.

열처리된 AgInS$_2$ 박막의 defect 연구 (Defect studies of annealed AgInS$_2$ epilayer)

  • A stoichiometric mixture of evaporating materials for AgInS$_2$ single crystal thin films was prepared from horizontal furnace. To obtain the single crystal thin films, AgInS$_2$ mixed crystal was deposited on thoroughly etched semi-insulating GaAs(100) substrate by the Hot Wall Epitaxy(HWE) system. The source and substrate temperatures were 680 $^{\circ}C$ and 410 $^{\circ}C$, respectively. The crystalline structure of the single crystal thin films was investigated by the photoluminescence and double crystal X-ray diffraction(DCXD). The carrier density and mobility of AgInS$_2$ single crystal thin films measured from Hall effect by van der Pauw method are 9.35${\times}$10$\^$16/ cm$\^$-3/ and 294 $\textrm{cm}^2$/V$.$s at 293 K, respectively. From the optical absorption measurement, the temperature dependence of the energy band gap on AgInS$_2$ single crystal thin films was found to be E$\_$g/(T) : 2.1365 eV - (9.89 ${\times}$ 10$\^$-3/ eV) T$^2$/(2930 + T). After the as-grown AgInS$_2$ single crystal thin films was annealed in Ag-, S-, and In-atmospheres, the origin of point defects of AgInS$_2$ single crystal thin films has been investigated by using the photoluminescence(PL) at 10 K. The native defects of V$\_$AG/, V$\_$S/, Ag$\_$int/, and S$\_$int/ obtained from PL measurements were classified as a donors or acceptors type. And we concluded that the heat-treatment in the S-atmosphere converted AgInS$_2$ single crystal thin films to an optical p-type. Also, we confirmed that In in AgInS$_2$/GaAs did not form the native defects because In in AgInS$_2$ single crystal thin films did exist in the form of stable bonds.

Effect of Deposition Parameters on the Morphology and Electrochemical Behavior of Lead Dioxide

  • Lead dioxide thin films were electrodeposited on nickel substrate from acidic lead nitrate solution. Current efficiency and thickness measurements, cyclic voltammetry, AFM, SEM, and X-ray diffraction experiments were conducted on $PbO_2$ surface to elucidate the effect of lead nitrate concentration, current density, temperature on the morphology, chemical behavior, and crystal structure. Experimental results showed that deposition efficiency was affected by the current density and solution concentration. The film thickness was independent of current density when deposition from high $Pb(NO_3)_2$ concentration, while it decreased for low concentration and high current density deposition. On the other hand, deposition temperature had negative effect on current efficiency more for lower current density deposition. Cyclic voltammetric study revealed that comparatively more ${\beta}-PbO_2$ produced compact deposits when deposition was carried out from high $Pb(NO_3)_2$ concentration. Such compact films gave lower charge discharge current density during cycling. SEM and AFM studies showed that deposition of regular-size sharp-edge grains occurred for all deposition conditions. The grain size for high temperature and low concentration $Pb(NO_3)_2$ deposition was bigger than from low temperature and high concentration deposition conditions. While cycling converted all grains into loosely adhered flappy deposit with numerous pores. X-ray diffraction measurement indicates that high concentration, high temperature, and high current density favored ${\beta}-PbO_2$ deposition while ${\alpha}-PbO_2$ converted to ${\beta}-PbO_2$ together with some unconverted $PbSO_4$ during cycling in $H_2SO_4$.

Human Visual System-aware Dimming Method Combining Pixel Compensation and Histogram Specification for TFT-LCDs

  • In thin-film transistor liquid-crystal displays (TFT-LCDs), which are most commonly used in mobile devices, the backlight accounts for about 70% of the power consumption. Therefore, most low-power-related studies focus on realizing power savings through backlight dimming. Image compensation is performed to mitigate the visual distortion caused by the backlight dimming. Therefore, popular techniques include pixel compensation for brightness recovery and contrast enhancement, such as histogram equalization. However, existing pixel compensation techniques often have limitations with respect to blur owing to the pixel saturation phenomenon, or because contrast enhancement cannot adequately satisfy the human visual system (HVS). To overcome these, in this study, we propose a novel dimming technique to achieve both power saving and HVS-awareness by combining the pixel compensation and histogram specifications, which convert the original cumulative density function (CDF) by designing and using the desired CDF of an image. Because the process of obtaining the desired CDF is customized to consider image characteristics, histogram specification is found to achieve better HVS-awareness than histogram equalization. For the experiments, we employ the LIVE image database, and we use the structural similarity (SSIM) index to measure the degree of visual satisfaction. The experimental results show that the proposed technique achieves up to 15.9% increase in the SSIM index compared with existing dimming techniques that use pixel compensation and histogram equalization in the case of the same low-power ratio. Further, the results indicate that it achieves improved HVS-awareness and increased power saving concurrently compared with previous techniques.
