대구경 현장타설말뚝의 대용량 양방향 말뚝재하시험 분석 및 극한지지력 추정을 위한 수치해석 연구 (A Numerical Analysis Study for Estimation of Ultimate Bearing Capacity and An Analysis of the High Capacity Bi-directional Pile Load Tests of the Large-diameter Drilled Shafts)

  • 초고층 건축물 기초의 고용량 하중 지지능력을 확인할 수 있는 가장 현실적인 방안인 고유압방식의 고용량 양방향 말뚝재하시험을 2개 현장에서 실시하였다. 고유압 복동식 양방향 말뚝재하시험은 정재하시험 시 재하용량 한계와 현장조건의 제약을 극복 할 수 있는 가장 현실적인 방안으로 볼 수 있었으며 고용량이 필요한 시험말뚝에 대한 재하시험에 매우 유용한 시험방법으로 판단되었다. 2개의 사례에서 계산된 설계하중 충족비는 각각 3.3, 2.1이었으므로 사례(P-2)에서 1방향 재하하중을 다소 작게 재하하였더라면 말뚝기초의 안정성을 실증적으로 확인하지 못하였을 것으로 판단되었다. 초고용량의 양방향 말뚝재하시험에서 설정한 최대하중까지 재하하더라도 말뚝 및 지반의 극한상태를 확인하는 것은 쉽지 않았으므로 대구경 현장타설말뚝의 극한지지력을 추정하기 위하여 2개의 고용량 대구경 현장타설말뚝에 대한 수치해석을 실시하였다.

  • In the conventional reinforced-concrete bridge deck, concrete and steels are likely to be deteriorated and corroded under the influence of noxious environment. To cope with these problems caused in the conventional reinforced-concrete bridge deck, pultruded composite bridge deck having light weight, high strength, corrosion resistence and durability is developed. Based on the previous study, Pultruded composite bridge deck is designed. For the DB24 truck load finite element analysis is performed to verify whether it meets both strength and serviceability design criteria. For the fabricated and assembled deck panel, structural testings are conducted. This paper present structural details and field application and testing results of composite bridge deck are presented. of composite bridge deck.

  • 발전설비에서 용접 구조물의 신뢰성은 매우 중요하며, 구조물 신뢰성평가를 위해서는 재료물성의 정확한 평가에 근거되어야 한다. 발전설비의 건설중 용접부의 물성평가는 실제 용접부에서의 파괴시험이 어려우므로 현장 용접부와 유사하게 용접, 시험한 결과인 PQR(Procedure Qualification Record)에 의해서만 보증을 하고 있다. 이런 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 현장 용접부에 대하여 비파괴적으로 기계물성 측정이 가능한 연속압입시험법을 적용하였다. 연속압입시험법은 압입시 압입하중-깊이를 측정하여 항복강도, 인장강도 그리고 가공경화지수와 같은 기계적 특성들의 분석이 가능한 시험법으로, 화력 발전소 건설 및 운전중 주증기관과 재열증기관의 기계인장물성을 평가하기 위하여 적용하였다.

  • To verify that the friction damper used to high buildings as a kind of control technology of wind vibration can reduce dynamic behaviors of PTTs effectively, slip dampers in this paper are proposed to absorb the energy through relatively frictional movement of slip dampers applied to main post of a PTT (Power Transmission Tower) when dynamic displacement of a PTT occurs. The result of dynamic analysis is presented to determine the capacity of the damper system by controlling damping ratio on the resonance condition. It is observed that by installing slip dampers at a PTT the strain amplitudes of the main post caused by wind load are effectively reduced. Therefore it is shown that the proposed damper satisfies the strengthened wind-load design standards, and its efficacy was also validated experimentally by field testing.

현장계측결과를 이용한 강거더연속교의 횡방향 활하중 분배계수에 대한 연구 (Verification of Lateral Live Load Distribution Factors for Continuous Steel Girder Bridges Based on Diagnostic Testing Results)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 재하 실험을 통해 교량설계기준에 규정되어 있는 횡방향 활하중 분배계수에 대해 연속교에 대해 적응이 가능한지를 검증하는 것이다. 기존의 유한요소해석을 이용한 해석적인 연구에서 설계기준에 규정되어 있는 횡방향 분배계수가 매우 보수적이며 정모멘트구역과 부모멘트 구역에서 활하중의 분배 형태는 유사하다는 결론을 얻었다, 재하실험을 통해 변형율을 계측하고 유한요소해석의 결과와 비교해 본 결과, 대부분의 경우 실험에서 얻어진 변형율이 해석 결과보다 작았다. 특히 이상적인 조건을 가정하고 행해진 구조해석 결과는 상대적으로 외측 거더에 작용한 휨모멘트를 과다 평가하였으며 따라서 구조해석 결과에서 얻어진 횡방향분배계수는 계측결과와 비교해 볼 때 보수적이지 않다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 실험 결과 또한 1개의 교량의 부모멘트구역에서 AASHTO LRFD에서 규정한 값을 초과하는 횡방향분배계수가 계측되었다. 따라서 AASHTO LRFD를 이용하여 연속거더교의 각 거더에 작용하는 활하중 모멘트 산정시에는 주의가 필요하다고 판단할 수 있다. 이에 반해 AASHTO Standard 식은 재하실험 결과 예외 없이 매우 보수적임을 검증하였다.

암반에 근입된 현장타설말뚝의 주면지지력 (Side Shear Resistance of Drilled Shafts in Rock)

  • In this research, the effect of rock mass weathering on the side shear resistance of drilled shaft socketed into weathered rock was investigated. For that, a database of 23 cast-in-place concrete piles with diameters varying from 400mm to 1,500mm were socketed into weathered igneous/meta-igneous rock at four different sites. The static axial load tests were performed to examine the resistant behavior of the piles, and a comprehensive field/laboratory testing program at the field test site was also performed to describe the in situ rock mass conditions quantitatively. No correlation was found between the compressive strengths of intact rock and the side shear resistance of weathered/soft rock. The ground investigation data regarding the rock mass conditions (e.g. $E_m,\;E_{ur},\;_{plm}$, RMR, RQD, j) was found to be highly correlated with the side shear resistance, showing the coefficients of correlation greater than 0.7 in most cases. Additionally, the applicability of existing methods for the side shear resistance of piles in rock was verified by comparison with the field test data. The existing empirical relations between the compressive strength of intact rock and the side shear resistance(Horvath (1982), Rowe & Armitage(1987) etc.) appeared to overestimated the side shear resistance of all piles tested in this research unless additional consideration on the effect of rock mass weathering or fracturing was applied. The existing methods which consider the effect of rock mass condition were modified and/or extended for weathered rock mass where mass factor j is lower than 0.1, and RQD is below 50%.

펄스방전 그라운드 앵커의 확공특성 및 극한인발력에 관한 연구 (Expansion Ratio and Ultimate Load of Pulse-Discharge Bulbed Anchors)

  • 느슨한 사질토나 연약 점토층에서는 큰 앵커 극한인발력 확보가 어렵기 때문에 앵커공법이 잘 적용되지 않는다. 그러나 앵커 천공 홀을 다양한 방법으로 확공시키는 기술이 개발되어 있으며 이러한 기술로 인하여 느슨한 사질토 및 연약 점토에서 비교적 큰 극한인발력을 확보할 수 있게 되었다. 특히, 축적된 전기에너지를 짧은 시간에 방전시키는 펄스방전 공법은 앵커 정착장을 천공 케이싱 또는 비트 직경보다 크게 확공시키는 공법이다. 총 24공의 앵커를 성균관 대학교 지반시험장 풍화토 및 모래질 점토층에 시공하였다. 극한인발력과 앵커 확공비와의 관계를 확인하기 위해 AASHTO에서 규정하고 있는 시험방법으로 인발시험이 수행되었으며 펄스방전에 의해 확공된 앵커의 직경을 확인하기 위해 7공의 앵커를 굴착하였다.

토목섬유를 활용한 철도 연약노반에서의 보강효과 (A Study on Reinforcement Effectiveness for Railway Soft Roadbed by Using Geotextiles)

  • In this study, geotextiles was applied on the selected track-bed, which is relatively economical and efficient way to prevent the problem of mud-pumping and settlement. Field testing sections from Mock-haeng to Dong-ryang in the Chung-buk lines in Korea were selected to investigate the state of track and roadbed. And three places were chosen among 1,700 spots where mud-pumping was frequently occurred and maintenance required. At the curved section with radius of 500m between Mock-haeng and Dong-ryang, we divided this testing site into 5 section and 4 different types of geotextile were installed and left the last section with no reinforcement. Total length of the test site was 200m and individual length of each site was 40 m. In order to understand the state and the strength of prepared roadbed, stiffness and physical properties of the roadbed soil were evaluated and analyzed. Also, after the installation, mud-pumping, settlement of elastic or plastic sleeper, failure of track, wheel-loads, lateral force and earth pressures were investigated.

  • Safety diagnosis of various structural components and facilities is indispensable for preventing catastrophic failure of material by time-dependent and environment accelerating degradation. Also, this diagnosis of operating components should be done periodically for safe maintenance and economical repair. However, conventional standard methods for mechanical properties have the problems of bulky specimen, destructive procedure and complex procedure of specimen sampling. So, a non-destructive and simple mechanical testing method using small specimen is needed. Therefore, an advanced indentation technique was developed as a potential method for non-destructive testing of in-field structures. This technique measures indentation load-depth curve during indentation and analyzes the mechanical properties related to deformation such as yield strength, tensile strength and work-hardening index. In this paper, we characterized the tensile properties including yield and tensile strengths of the V-modified Cr-Mo steels in petro-chemical and thermo-electrical plants. And also, the effects of hydrogen-assisted degradation of the V-modified Cr-Mo steels were analyzed in terms of work-hardening index and yield ratio.

Approach towards qualification of TCP/IP network components of PFBR

  • Distributed control system architecture is adopted for I&C systems of Prototype Fast Breeder Reactor, where the geographically distributed control systems are connected to centralized servers & display stations via switched Ethernet networks. TCP/IP communication plays a significant role in the successful operations of this architecture. The communication tasks at control nodes are taken care by TCP/IP offload modules; local area switched network is realized using layer-2/3 switches, which are finally connected to network interfaces of centralized servers & display stations. Safety, security, reliability, and fault tolerance of control systems used for safety-related applications of nuclear power plants is ensured by indigenous design and qualification as per guidelines laid down by regulatory authorities. In the case of commercially available components, appropriate suitability analysis is required for getting the operation clearances from regulatory authorities. This paper details the proposed approach for the suitability analysis of TCP/IP communication nodes, including control systems at the field, network switches, and servers/display stations. Development of test platform using commercially available tools and diagnostics software engineered for control nodes/display stations are described. Each TCP link behavior with impaired packets and multiple traffic loads is described, followed by benchmarking of the network switch's routing characteristics and security features.
