Optical burst switching (OBS) has been proposed to reduce the use of fiber delay lines (FDLs) and to realize the optical switching paradigm of the next-generation ail optical networks. The OBS can provide improvements over wavelength routing in terms of bandwidth efficiency and core network scalability via statistical multiplexing of bursts. Recently, another challenging issue is how to upport quality of service (QoS) in the optical burst switching networks. In this paper, we propose a deflection routing scheme to guarantee the QoS for the OBS networks to detour lower priority burst forward to the deflection routing path when congested. A big advantage of the proposed scheme is the simplicity of QoS provision, that comes from the simple QoS provisioning algorithm. Also, the QoS provisioning scheme be able to make efficient networks by fairly traffic distributing with the reduce of the use of FDLs at core routers. The QoS provisioning scheme has been verified to reliably guarantee the QoS of priority 0, 1, 2 burst and to efficiently utilize network resources by computer simulations using OPNET As results, the end-to-end delay of high priority burst is improved, and the network efficiency is also improved.
The adhesive strength can be improved through surface treatment. The most common method is to improve physical bonding by varying the surface conditions. This study presents the effect of laser surface treatment on the adhesive strength of CFRP. The surface roughness was patterned using a 1064 nm laser. The effects of the number of laser shots and the direction and length of the pattern on the adhesion of the CFRP/CFRP single joint were investigated through tensile tests. Tests according to ASTM D5868 were performed, and the bonding mechanism was determined by analyzing the damaged surface after a fracture. The optimized number of the laser shots and the optimized depth of the roughness should be required to increase the bonding strength on the CFRP surface. When considering the shear stress in the tensile direction, the roughness pattern in the direction of 45° that increases the length of the fracture path in the adhesive layer resulted in an increase of the adhesive strength. The surface treatment of the bonding surface using a laser is a suitable method to acquire a mechanical bonding mechanism and improve the bonding strength of the CFRP bonding joint. The study on the optimized laser process parameters is required for utilizing the benefits of laser surface processing.
Comparing to active damage monitoring, impact localization on composite by using time reversal focusing method has several difficulties. First, the transfer function of the actuator-sensor path is difficult to be obtained because of the limitation that no impact experiment is permitted to perform on the real structure and the difficulty to model it because the performance of real aircraft composite is much more complicated comparing to metal structure. Second, the position of impact is unknown and can not be controlled as the excitation signal used in the active monitoring. This makes it not applicable to compare the difference between the excitation and the focused signal. Another difficulty is that impact signal is frequency broadband, giving rise to the difficulty to process virtual synthesis because of the highly dispersion nature of frequency broadband Lamb wave in plate-like structure. Aiming at developing a practical method for on-line localization of impact on aircraft composite structure which can take advantage of time reversal focusing and does not rely on the transfer function, a PZT sensor array based phase synthesis time reversal impact imaging method is proposed. The complex Shannon wavelet transform is presented to extract the frequency narrow-band signals from the impact responded signals of PZT sensors. A phase synthesis process of the frequency narrow-band signals is implemented to search the time reversal focusing position on the structure which represents the impact position. Evaluation experiments on a carbon fiber composite structure show that the proposed method realizes the impact imaging and localization with an error less than 1.5 cm. Discussion of the influence of velocity errors and measurement noise is also given in detail.

In this study, we were developed an accuracy of the proposed two dimensional statical inclinometer what used a position sensitive detector(PSD) by an error analysis. The inclinometer consists of a laser source, a mass, an optic-fiber, and a PSD. The gravity direction on a base platform of the inclinometer is changed by an unknown inclination angle. And a laser spot is moved from the origin to another position of a PSD following a variation of an optical path by the gravity. These processes enable the inclinometer to estimate the inclination angle from distance information of the moving spot. A design methodology on the basis of a sensitivity analysis was applied to improve the measurement performance such as a full measuring range and a resolution. But it still has error factors, so we analyze the uncertainty of the inclinometer to evaluate the systematic errors from alignments, assembly error and so on. The experimental performance evaluation about the design objectives as a measuring range and a resolution was performed. And the validity and the feasibility of the design process were certified by an experimental process. Systematic errors eliminated to improve the accuracy of the inclinometer by the corrected measuring model from the calibration process between the inclination angle and the PSD position instead of the nominal measuring model. The ANOVA(analysis of variance) confirmed the effect of eliminating the systematic errors in the inclinometer. From these methodologies, the proposed inclinometer was able to measure with a high resolution(35.14sec) and a wide range(from $-15^{\circ}\;to\;15^{\circ}$
Effect of graphite powder addition on the mechanical properties of carbon fiber reinforced carbon composites (C/C composites) was investigated. Greenbody (G/B) with 0~30wt.% graphite powder addition to phenol resin was prepared and carbonized at $1000^{\circ}C$ to make C/C composites. Flexural strengths of 20wt.% graphite powder additions showed maximum values in the both case of G/B and C/C composites. But, at the graphite addition over 20wt.%, there was negative effect due to the matrix inhomogeneity. Flexural strength of cured resin without graphite Powder was higher than that with graphite. However, flexural strength of carbonized resin with graphite increased three times as much as that of carbonized resin without graphite. Because the addition of graphite powder effects the restraint of shrinkage after carbonization and the deflection of crack path. In Mode II ENF test, energy release rates($G_{II}$) of G/B and C/C composites with the 20w1.% addition of graphite were both increased. But, the addition of graphite was more effective to the increase of $G_{II}$ in C/C composites than that in G/B.
Modified two-surface model (M2SM) is one of the steel elasto-plastic hysteretic constitutive models that consider both analysis accuracy and efficiency. However, when M2SM is used for complex strain history, sometimes the results are irrational due to the limitation of stress-strain path judgment. In this paper, the defect of M2SM was re-modified by improving the judgment of stress-strain paths. The accuracy and applicability of the improved method were verified on both material and structural level. Based on this improvement, the nonlinear time-history analysis was carried out for a deck-through steel arch bridge with a 200 m-long span under the ground motions of Chi-Chi earthquake and Niigata earthquake. In the analysis, we compared the results obtained by hysteretic constitutive models of improved two-surface model (I2SM) presented in this paper, M2SM and the bilinear kinematic hardening model (BKHM). Results show that, although the analysis precision of displacement response of different steel hysteretic models differs little from each other, the stress-strain responses of the structure are affected by steel hysteretic models apparently. The difference between the stress-strain responses obtained by I2SM and M2SM cannot be neglected. In significantly damaged areas, BKHM gives smaller stress result and obviously different strain response compared with I2SM and M2SM, and tends to overestimate the effect of hysteretic energy dissipation. Moreover, at some position with severe damage, BKHM may underestimate the size of seismic damaged areas. Different steel hysteretic models also have influences on structural damage evaluation results based on deformation behavior and low cycle fatigue, and may lead to completely different judgment of failure, especially in severely damaged areas.

The optical time domain reflectometer (OTDR) is the most widely used method to monitor problems with currently installed optical fibers. The OTDR is an instrument designed to test the FTTx network and evaluates the physical properties of the fiber, such as transmission loss and connection loss. It is important to improve the spatial resolution in order to accurately grasp the optical path problems by using the OTDR. When the pulse width is less than twice the distance between the two reflectors, the signals reflected from the two reflectors are reflected without overlap, so that the reflected signal can be distinguished. However, when the pulse width is larger than twice the distance between the two reflectors, so that the reflected signal can not be distinguished. In order to overcome these limitations, this paper proposed a method of improving spatial resolution by applying a super resolution algorithm. As a result of the simulation, the resolution is improved when the super resolution algorithm is applied, and the event interval can be analyzed more precisely.

Optical interferometer is used for various optical measurement fields in optical metrology and biomedical measurements. In an optical interferometer, optical delay line has to change the optical path length of a reference arm to match with that of a sample in and it's speed was limited by reference arm movement speed. In this paper, we proposed an all-fibered RSODRapid Scanning-speed Optical Delay) without any mechanical movement, and we applied this system to optical interferometer. Experimental setup is consist of pulse laser source (center wavelength 1304nm, pulse width 30ps, repetition rate 10GHz), two phase modulators and dispersive shifted fiber. As experimental results, we obtain the maximum time delay of 11ps at 10MHz repetition rate, and it is easily tuneable the time delay by modulation frequency and modulation voltage.
Trimethyltin (TMT) induced lesions in the rat hippocampal formation was reviewed. Adult rats were treated with a single dose of 6.0 mg TMT/kg b.w. and were sacrificed between 3-60 days following exposure. On the hippocampal formation, the granule cells of fascia dentata showed early changes which subsided considerably at a later time when the destruction of the pyramidal neurons of the Ammon's horn became increasingly pronounced with time, leading to severe destruction of the structure. It is interesting to note that there was an inverse relationship of pathological involvement between the f.d. granule cells and the Ammon's horn neurons; i.e., when there was a large sparing of the granule cells. there was an extensive damage to the Ammon's horn and vice versa. This inverse relationship was also true between the $CA_3$neurons and the $CA_{1,2}$neurons in the Ammon's horn. Progressive zinc loss, as demonstrated by Timm's method, on the Mossy fibers was also observed. Similar Mossy fiber zinc depletion has been demonstrated in electrical stimulatory excitation condition of the perforant path to the hippocampus. Depletion of corticosterone, an inhibitor to the hippocampal neurons, by means of adrenalectomy will exaggerate the TMT induced hippocampal lesion. Neonatal study revealed that a unique degenerative pattern of the Ammon's horn could be established in accordance with exposure to TMT at specific maturation periods of the fippocampal formation: increasing destruction of the Ammon's horn with increasing synaptogenesis between the f.d. granule cells and the Ammon's horn neurons. Thus it is apparent that the damage of the Ammon's horn, upon exposure to TMT, may depend on the integrity and functional state of the f.d. granule cells. A hyperexcitory scheme and mechanism as the toxicity basis of TMT in the hippocampal formation is proposed and discussed.
In this study, the ultra-fine fibers (UFs) having an alignment were prepared by electrospinning process, using different collectors made from various materials and collecting methods. A spinning solution was prepared by dissolving poly(amide-co-imide) (PAI) in NMP. The UFs were prepared by using various collectors and collecting methods, and the fibrous shapes were observed by SEM. As a result, a sort of materials of collectors and the collecting methods had not influenced on the average diameters of fibers but the forms of them. The just accumulated UFs on the collectors formed net structures, which had no alignment. On the contrary, the continuously collected UFs formed long fibers with alignment. It was found that the water collector played the roles of the fiber haul, temporary collector, moving path of fibers, and caused some friction between fibers and water, attributed to the formation of continuous UFs at a suitable collecting speed.
