  • The vibration exciter with the accurate calibration requires a low distortion along a single axis over a wide range of frequency. The fabricated piezoelectric exciter was composed of a base, piezoelectric element(Venitron PZT 5A), electrode and seismic mass. Its performance characteristics is evaluated the Mach-Zehnder optical fiber interferometer. The phase of the optical wave passing through the optical fiber around the piezoelectric element was related the vibrational amplitude with a change of the applied sinusoidal voltage on the piezoelectric element. The dynamic characteristics of vibration exciter can be obtained by measuring the vibrational amplitude with a sinusoidal applied voltage on the piezoelectric element. The sensitivity of the fabricated piezoelectric exciter had a 0.4 nm/V which was uniform up to 20 kHz.

  • In this study, we analyzed the heat generation state of a flat heating element by using image processing technology in conjunction with carbon fiber. The flat heating element is manufactured by chopping the carbon fiber to a small size and bonding it again using a dispersing agent. The solution of carbon fiber, bound together using the dispersant, is then filtered onto the nonwoven fabric. The last step is to obtain flat carbon fibers in the form of nonwoven fabrics for the purpose of drying the filtered carbon fibers. In the flat heating element, electricity may be applied to the carbon fiber on the surface produced in this manner. In this study, the flat heating element was analyzed by four methods. The analysis of the heat generation characteristics and heating rate of the flat heating element confirmed that the fabricated sheet heating element corresponds to a normal army. The analysis of the insulation coating and flat heating element module, which can be used for actual product manufacturing, involves two dimensional image analysis using image processing technology. The thermal image analysis of the flat heating element is a programming technique that not only analyzes the heat generation state in both two and three dimensions, but also displays the upper and lower 15 to 20% ranges of temperature corresponding to the heat generation in the image. In the final analysis, it is possible to easily find the erroneous part in the manufacturing process by directly showing the state of the fabricated flat heating element on the screen. By combining this image analysis method of the flat heating element with the existing method, we were able to more accurately analyze the heat generation state.

  • In this paper the influence of stiffener location, rise/span ratio and fibre orientation on vibration behavior of corner supported hypar shells is studied by using a four-node hybrid stress finite element. The formulation of the element is based on Hellinger-Reissner variational principle. The element is developed by combining a hybrid plane stress element and a hybrid plate element. Benchmark problems are solved to validate the approach and free vibration response of stiffened orthotropic hypar shells is studied both with respect to fundamental frequency and mode shapes by varying the location of stiffeners, rise/span ratio and fiber orientation.

  • The residual thermal stresses at the interface corner between the elastic fiber and the viscoelastic matrix of a two-dimensional unidirectional laminate due to cooling from cure temperature down to room temperature were studied. The matrix material was assumed to be thermorheologically simple. The time-domain boundary element method was employed to investigate the nature of stresses on the interface. Numerical results show that very large stress gradients are present at the interface corner and this stress singularity might lead to local yielding or fiber-matrix debonding.

  • In aerospace industry, the improvement of structural performance of fight structure without increasing weight has great advantage. In this study. an innovative design method to increase the buckling load and tension failure load at the same time without increasing the weight of composite plates was investigated. By using the curvilinear fiber format a method to increase the buckling load and tension failure load simultaneously was investigated for composite plates with central hole with finite element method. It was investigated how much gain can be obtained with curvilinear fiber format for the plates with different hole size and different stacking sequence. And, for the cases studied, the failure mechanism was also investigated. For the manufacturing of the curvilinear fiber format, smoothly and continuously changing fiber path is necessary. In this study, a simple method to find the smoothly changing fiber path by using the fiber angles obtained with finite element method was presented.

  • The numerical simulation is performed for the acoustic emission and the wave propagation due to fiber breakage in single fiber composite plates by the finite element transient analysis. The acoustic emission and the following wave motions from a fiber breakage under a static loading is simulated to investigate the applicability of the explicit finite element method and the equivalent volume force model as a simulation tool of wave propagation and a modeling technique of an acoustic emission. For such a simple case of the damage event under static loading, various parameters affecting the wave motion are investigated for reliable simulations of the impact damage event. The high velocity and the small wave length of the acoustic emission require a refined analysis with dense distribution of the finite element and a small time step. In order to fulfill the requirement for capturing the exact wave propagation and to cover the 3-D simulation, we utilize the parallel FE transient analysis code and the parallel computing technology.

  • This study carried out finite element deflection analysis of cylindrical shell structures made of composite materials, which is based on the micro-mechanical approach for different fiber-volume fractions. The finite element (FE) models for composite structures using multi-scale approaches described in this paper is attractive not only because it shows excellent accuracy in analysis but also it shows the effect of the material combination. New results reported in this paper are focused on the significant effects of the fiber-volume fraction for various parameters, such as fiber angles, layup sequences, and length-thickness ratios. It may be concluded from this study that the combination effect of fiber and matrix, largely governing the dynamic characteristics of composite shell structures, should not be neglected and thus the optimal combination could be used to design such civil structures for better dynamic performance.

  • In this paper, a study on the development of expert system for Al matrix composite with shape memory alloy fiber is performed to evaluate termomechanical behavior and mechanical properties. Expert system is very useful computer-based analysis system designed to make analysis technique and knowledge conveniently available to a lot of fabricable condition. In the developed system, it is possible to predict termomechanical behavior and mechanical properties for other composite with shape memory alloy fiber. The smartness of the shape memory alloy is given due to the shape memory effect of the TiNi fiber which generates compressive residual stress in the matrix material when heated after being prestrained. For finite element analysis, an analytical model is assumed two dimensional axisymmetric model compared of one fiber and the matrix. To evaluate the strength of composite using FEM, the concept of smart composite was simulated on computer Thus, in this paper, the FEA was carried out at two critical temperature conditions; room temperature and high temperature(363k). The finite element analysis result was compared with the test result for the analysis validity.

  • Thick films of carbon fiber were prepared by a heating element of plan shape made in Darin co., We have investigated surface morphology of the specimen depending on heat-treatment temperatures. Scanning electron microscope(SEM) image of carbon fiber thick films of the specimen heat treated shows a grain growth at $1200^{\circ}C$ and becomes a poly-crystallization at $1350^{\circ}C$. The variation of resistivity at the thermally annealed specimen above $600^{\circ}C$ depends on type of the substrates. It may be due to a variation of film thickness and a difference of interfacial phenomena. A heating element of features was affected significantly by skin blood and quantity of heat of the body physiological function. After radiation of farinfrared for plate heating element, the function of biometric physiological is considered of skin blood flow and calorie which greatly affects on individuals. Electromagnetic wave was not influence on the body.

  • Composites are materials that are widely used in industries such as automobile and aircraft. The composite material is required as a material for using in a high temperature environment as well as acting as a high pressure environment like the nozzle part of the ship. It is important to know the properties of composites. Result values obtained substituting the properties of matrix and fiber numerically have an large error compared with experimental value. In this study we utilize CASADsolver EDISON program for using Finite Element Method. Properties by substituting the fiber and Matrix properties of the composite material properties were compared with those measured in the experiment and calculated by the empirical properties.
