개의 구토물에서 분리한 오디흑연가시(철선충)의 전자현미경을 이용한 해부학적 소견 (Anatomical Study of Chordodes koreensis in the Parasitic Phase Using Electron Microscopy)

  • 철선충은 주로 사마귀와 같은 곤충에 기생하는 선충류로 사람이나 동물은 우연히 감염될 수 있는 것으로 알려져 왔다. 철선충의 생활사는 크게 곤충에 기생하는 기생생활기, 그리고 발육이 완료된 후에 숙주를 죽이고 외계로 나와 자유생활을 하는 자유생활기로 구분할 수 있다. 본 연구는 개의 구토물에서 오디흑연가시 수컷을 발견하여 이의 횡단면을 주사 및 투과 전자현미경으로 관찰한 것이다. 전자현미경하에서 표피는 4층(epicuticle, cuticle, epidermis, muscle)으로 이루어졌고, 내강에는 장, 배신경절이 발견되었다. 그러나 고환은 발견되지 않았다. 표피의 최상층에서 여러 형태의 areoles이 관찰되었으며, cuticle은 17열의 섬유로 이루어져 있었다. Epidermis는 1열로 구성되어 있었으며, muscle층은 여러 개의 근세포가 종으로 일정하게 배열되어 있었다. 그리고 내강에 배신경절이 충체의 정중앙 배측에서만 존재하는 것으로 확인되었다. 이러한 결과로 본 철선충은 기생생활기를 끝내지 못한 미성숙충으로 판단된다.

철근콘크리트 T형보의 전단 보강 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Shear Strengthening Characteristic of Reinforced Concrete T-shaped Beams)

  • 기존 보강에 대한 연구는 대부분 장방형 보에 대해 휨 보강에 대한 연성 및 내력 증대에 대하여 주로 연구가 되었다. 그리고 일반적으로 철근콘크리트 보-슬래브 구조에서는 시공의 특성상 보와 슬래브의 콘크리트가 동시에 부어넣기되기 때문에 경화 후 일체가 되어 인접한 슬래브는 보의 플랜지를 이루어 보의 강성을 높이고 압축응력을 지지하는 면적을 넓혀 주는 T형보단면을 갖지만 T형보의 휨 거동에 대해 유용한 자료는 부족한 실정이다. 본 연구는 철근콘크리트 T형보를 제작하여 보강재 종류와 위치별로 전단 보강을 실시하여 보강효과 및 구조적 특성을 파악하였으며 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 각종 실험결과를 종합한바, 탄소섬유막대 보강은 콘크리트 내부에 매입되어 일체 거동함으로써 파괴시 거동 및 내력 및 강성 향상 면에서 가장 우수한 것으로 나타났다. 강판 보강은 강성 및 전단내력은 증대 되었으나 보강강도는 큰데 반해 콘크리트와 부착성 저하에 의해 낮은 보강효과를 보였다. 섬유시트 보강은 보강효과는 우수하나 파괴 시 부착성의 한계로 의해 계면박리가 나타나 이에 대한 대책이 필요할 것으로 사료된다.

  • 본 논문은 한국항공대학교에서 연구 및 개발한 태양광 무인기 KAU-SPUAV에 관한 내용으로, 2020년 6월 32시간 19분 장기체공 비행에 성공한 주익 4.2m 태양광 무인기의 설계 과정에 관하여 기술하였다. 태양광 무인기의 장기체공 능력을 향상시키기 위해 항력을 줄이기 위한 원형 단면의 동체를 설계하였고, 유리섬유 복합재를 사용한 모노코크 구조를 적용하여 가볍고 튼튼한 동체를 제작하였다. 또한 4.2m 태양광 무인기의 날개 형상에 최적화된 태양광 모듈을 구성하여 배열하였고, 23[in] × 23[in] 프로펠러를 적용한 추진시스템을 구성하여 충전 및 비행 효율을 향상시켰다. 개발된 태양광 무인기는 순항할 때 평균 55W를 소비하고, 주간에 최대 165W 에너지를 공급받을 수 있으며 비행실험을 통해 장기체공 성능을 검증하였다.

Glass fiber 강화 복합레진을 사용한 3본 고정성 국소의치의 개념 설계 연구 (Conceptual Design of the Three Unit Fixed Partial Denture with Glass Fiber Reinforced Hybrid Composites)

  • 본 연구에서는 knitted glass fabric 강화 레진에 대한 치과보철소재로서의 적용가능성을 평가하기 위한 목적으로, 가장 높은 수준의 교합하중이 작용하게 되는 구치부 3본 고정성국소의치에 이 재료를 사용하는 경우에 대해 해석을 수행하였다. 우선 구치부3본 고정성국소의치에 대해 knitted glass fabric 강화 레진을 적용한 두 가지 설계 개념을 상정하였고, 각 설계형상에 대한 유한요소해석을 하였다. 강도 평가를 위해서75N의 생리적인 반복 수직 교합 하중 조건을 부여, 보철물에 유도되는 국소응력을 피로강도측면에서 고찰하였다. 각각의 설계에는 knitted glass fabric을 모재로 하고 보강재로 unidirectional 형의 glass 복합재가 사용되었다. 본 연구에서 개념설계 된 두 가지의 3본 고정성국소의치는 수직 교합 하중 75N 에 대해 충분한 강성과 강도를 가진 것으로 분석되었다. 가공치와 knitted caps사이의 연결 부위에서 국소적인 응력 집중이 관찰되었으나 그 크기는 재료의 피로강도 범위 이내였으며 국소적인 설계변경을 통하여 응력분포를 더욱 개선할 수 있을 것으로 추정하였다. 본 연구를 통해 knitted glass fabric 은 새로운 치과 보철 소재로서의 그 가능성이 기대된다.

GFRP 보강근의 설계 인장강도 발현을 위한 적정 그립시스템 개발 (Development of Optimum Grip System in Developing Design Tensile Strength of GFRP Rebars)

  • 기존 연구자에 의해 수행된 GFRP 보강근의 인장특성치 분석을 위한 많은 시험 결과에 의하면, 현행 ASTM 규격에서 제안하는 그립을 사용하여 GFRP보강근에 대한 인장강도 시험을 할 경우, 설계용 인장강도 특성치가 충분히 발현되지 않는 것으로 보고되고 있다. 이러한 원인은 두개의 금속재 블록에 내부 홈을 성형하여 마찰저항 방식에 의해 GFRP보강근을 고정하는 것을 특징으로 하고 있는 ASTM그립은 다양한 외피조건 및 단면형상을 지니고 있는 GFRP보강근의 물리적 특성을 충분히 반영하지 못하고 있는 것에 기인하는 것으로 판단된다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 GFRP 보강근의 인장강도 특성치가 충분히 발현될 수 있도록 ASTM 그립에서의 최적의 내부 홈 치수를 도출해 내는 방법을 제안하고 시험을 통하여 입증하고자 한다. 본 연구에서 제안하는 ASTM그립에서의 내부 홈 치수에 대한 최적화 방법은 GFRP 보강근의 인장내력을 발현하기 위해 요구되는 최소한의 압축력과 평형을 이루도록 압축변형률 적합조건을 적용하여 GFRP보강근의 직경에 대해 ASTM그립의 내부 홈 직경을 조정하는 방법을 적용하였다. 본 시험에 사용된 시험편의 제작, 가력 및 측정장치의 설치 등은 nh 5806-02에서 제안하는 권고사항에 따라 실시하였다. ASIM그립의 내부 홈 직경크기를 달리하여 실시된 CFRP 보강근의 인장강도 시험결과에 의하면 측정된 인장강도 최대치는 ASTM 그립의 내부 홈 직경의 크기에 큰 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났으며, 그 중에서 본 연구에서 제안한 방법에 의해 산정된 ASTM그립을 이용한 시험결과가 가장 큰 인장강도 값을 기록하는 것으로 나타났다 따라서 본 연구에서 제안하는 방법은 GFRP 보강근의 인장강도 특성치 분석을 위한 ASTM 그립의 제작에 매우 유용할 것으로 판단된다.

한국산(韓國産) 유용목재(有用木材)의 기초재질(基礎材質)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究) (Studies of the Properties of Commercial Woods Grown in the Southern Part of Korea)

  • 우리나라에서 아직 이용개발(利用開發)되고 있지 아니한 구상나무, 구실잣밤나무, 후박나무, 때죽나무 및 북가시나무등(等) 5수종(樹種)에 대(對)한 해부학적성질(解剖學的性質), 물리적성질(物理的性質), 기계적성질(機械的性質), 접착성능(接着性能), 목리(木理) 무늬정미성(精緻性), 가공성(加工性), 건조특성(乾燥特性), 프로링제작성(製作性), 목재(木材)의 조성분(組成分), 펄프화특성(化特性) 및 박피성등(剝皮性等)을 조사(調査)한 결과(結果)를 요약(要約)하면 다음과 같다. 1. 원료목재(原料木材)의 형질(形質)은 구상나무가 통직(通直)하나 옹이가 과다(過多)하였고, 잣밤나무와 때쭉나무는 굽음이 심(甚)하였다. 2. 섬유장(纖維長)은 구상나무가 2.97mm로 가장 컷으며, 때죽나무가 1.49mm였으며, 기타(其他) 수종(樹種)도 1.07~1.19mm에 속하였다. 섬유폭(纖維幅)은 구상나무가 39.3${\mu}$으로 가장 컸고, 때죽나무가 18.4${\mu}$으로 최소(最小)였으며 기타(其他) 수종(樹種)들은 23~29${\mu}$의 범위(範圍)에 속하나 대체(大體)로 타활엽수(他闊葉樹)에 비(比)해 섬유폭(纖維幅)이 컸다. 3. 북가시나무의 전건비중(全乾比重)은 0.74${\pm}$0.03으로서 한국산(韓國産) 참나무류(類)의 비중(比重)과 유사(類似)하였으며 구상나무는 0.34${\pm}$0.02로 최소(最小)였으며 기타(其他) 수종(樹種)은 0.47~0.51의 범위(範圍)에 있었다. 4. 흡수량(吸水量)은 대체(大體)로 비중(比重)에 역비례(逆比例)하여 감소(減少)되나 흡습량(吸濕量)은 비중(比重) 증가(增加)에 따라서 증가(增加)하는 경향(傾向)을 나타냈다. 또한 횡단면(橫斷面)의 흡수량(吸水量)은 경단면(經斷面) 접선단면(接線斷面)의 그것들에 비(比)해 2배(倍) 이상(以上)에 달(達)하나, 후박나무는 1.7배(倍)였으며, 경단면(經斷面)과 접선단면(接線斷面)의 흡수량(吸水量)은 수종(樹種)에 따라서 달랐다. 5. 전건수축율(全乾收縮率)은 접선방향(接線方向)에서 5.36~10.24%, 반경방향(半徑方向)에서 2.83~6.13%에 범위(範圍)에 속하며 구상나무가 가장 적고, 북가시나무가 가장 컸다. 수축율(收縮率)은 비중(比重)이 큰 수종(樹種)일수록 컸다. 6. 공시수종(供試樹種)의 제강도(諸强度)는 북가시나무의 경우 강원도산(江原道産) 신갈나무와 유사(類似)하였으며, 구실잣밤나무, 후박나무 구상나무는 비중(比重)이 유사(類似)한 한국산수종(韓國産樹種)의 재질(材質)들과 유사(類似)하였으나, 때쭉나무는 일반적(一般的)으로 비중(比重)에 비(比)해 높은 강도치(强度値)를 기록(記錄)하였다. 7. 요소수지(尿素樹脂) 및 석탄산수지(石炭酸樹脂)에 대(對)한 접착(接着)은 후박나무와 구실잣밤나무가 최대치(最大値)를 기록(記錄)하였으나, 비중(比重)이 큰 북가시나무와 비중(比重)이 작은 구상나무는 그렇지 못하였다. 8. 목리(木理)와 무늬정치성(精緻性)은 후박나무는 파상(波狀)으로 굴곡(屈曲)되어 목재공예적(木材工藝的)으로 진용(珍用)될 수 있으며 기타(其他) 수종(樹種)들은 건축(建築) 및 가구용재(家具用材)로서 적합(適合)한 무늬였다. 6. 가공성(加工性)은 북가시나무를 제외(除外)하곤 기타 수종(樹種)은 양호(良好)할 것으로 판단(判斷)된다. 10. 비중(比重)이 큰 수종(樹種)일수록 건조(乾燥)의 곤란성(困難性)을 노정(露呈)하였으나, 후박나무는 비중(比重)에 비(比)해 건조(乾燥)가 용이(容易)치 않고, 심(甚)한 트위스팅 및 커핑 등(等) 건조결함(乾燥缺陷)을 발생(發生)하였다. 11. 구상나무를 제외(除外)한 모든 공시수종(供試樹種)은 플로링제작(製作)에 적합(適合)한 것으로 판단(判斷)된다. 12. 화학적(化學的) 조성분(組成分)은 5수종(樹種) 공(共)히 펜토산 함량(含量)이 많았고 북가시나무는 추출물(抽出物)의 함량(含量)이 최대(最大)였다. 13. 크라프트 펄프화(化)는 5수종(樹種) 공(共)히 경제수율(經濟收率)인 45% 이상(以上)을 기록(記錄)하였다. 14. 박피(剝皮)는 구상나무와 후박나무가 용이(容易)하였으며, 5수종(樹種) 모두 자비(煮沸)한 후(後) 박피(剝皮)한 것이 가장 능율적(能率的)이었다.

Sensory Information Processing

  • The wall shear stress in the vicinity of end-to end anastomoses under steady flow conditions was measured using a flush-mounted hot-film anemometer(FMHFA) probe. The experimental measurements were in good agreement with numerical results except in flow with low Reynolds numbers. The wall shear stress increased proximal to the anastomosis in flow from the Penrose tubing (simulating an artery) to the PTFE: graft. In flow from the PTFE graft to the Penrose tubing, low wall shear stress was observed distal to the anastomosis. Abnormal distributions of wall shear stress in the vicinity of the anastomosis, resulting from the compliance mismatch between the graft and the host artery, might be an important factor of ANFH formation and the graft failure. The present study suggests a correlation between regions of the low wall shear stress and the development of anastomotic neointimal fibrous hyperplasia(ANPH) in end-to-end anastomoses. 30523 T00401030523 ^x Air pressure decay(APD) rate and ultrafiltration rate(UFR) tests were performed on new and saline rinsed dialyzers as well as those roused in patients several times. C-DAK 4000 (Cordis Dow) and CF IS-11 (Baxter Travenol) reused dialyzers obtained from the dialysis clinic were used in the present study. The new dialyzers exhibited a relatively flat APD, whereas saline rinsed and reused dialyzers showed considerable amount of decay. C-DAH dialyzers had a larger APD(11.70$\pm$1.32mmHg/min)compared to CF dialyzers(4.32$\pm$0.55mmHg/min)(p<0.05). However, there was no observable difference in the UFR between the two dialyzers. Neither APD nor UFR showed any significant increase with an increasing number of reuses for up to more than 20reuses. A substantial number of failures observed in APD(larger than 20mmHe/min)on the reused dialyzers(2 out of 40 CP and S out 26 C-DAK) were attributed to the Possible damage on the fibers. The CF 15-11 HFDs which failed APD test did not show changes in the UFR compared to normal dialyzers indicating that APD is a more sensitive test than UFR test to evaluate the integrity of the fibers. 30527 T00401030527 ^x For quantitative measurement of reflected light from a clinical diagnostic strip, a prototype old reflectance photometer was designed. The strip loader and cassette were made to obtain more accurate reflectance parameters. The strip was illuminated at 45˚c through optical fiber and the intensity of reflected light was determined at rectanguLat angle using a photodiode. The kubelka-munk coefficient and reflection optical density were determined ar four different wavelengths(500, 550, 570 and 610nm) for blood glucose strip. For higher concentration than 300mg/41 about glucose, a saturation state of abforbance was observed at 500, 550 and 570nm. The correlation between glucose concentration and parameters was the best at 610nm. 30535 T00401030535 ^x Radiation-induced fibrosarcoma tumors were grown on the flanks of C3H mice. The mice were divided into two groups. One group was injected with Photofrin II, intravenously (2.5mg/kg body weight). The other group received no Photofrin II. Mice from both groups were irradialed for approximately 15 minutes at 100, 300, or 500 mW/cm2 with the argon (488nm/514.5 nm), dye(628nm) and gold vapor (pulsed 628 nm) laser light. A photosensitizer behaved as an added absorber. Under our experimental conditions, the presence of Photolfrin II increased surface temperature by at least 40% and the temperature rise due to 300 mW/cm2 irradiation exceeded values for hyperthermia. Light and temperature distributions with depth were estimated by a computer model. The model demonstrated the influence of wavelength on the thermal process and proved to be a valuable tool to investigate internal temperature rise. 30536 T00401030536 ^x We investigated the structural geometry of thirty-eight Korean femurs. The purpose of this study is to identify major geometrical differences between Korean femurs 3nd others that we believe belong to Caucasians so that we would be able to get insights into the femoral component design that fits Asians including Koreans. We utilized computerized tomography (CT) images of femurs extracted from cadavers. The CT images were transformed into bitmap data by using a film scanner, and then analyzed by using a commercially available software called Image v.1.0 and a Macintosh IIci computer.The resulting data were compared with already published data. The major results show that the geometry of the Korean femurs is significantly different from that of Caucasians: (1) the anteversion angle and the canal flare index are greater by the amount of approximately 8˚ and 0.5, respectively, (2) the shape of the isthmus cross section is more round, and (3) the distance between the teaser trochanter and the proximal border of the isthmus is shelter by about 15 mm. The results suggested that the femoral component suitable for Asians should be different from the currently-used components designed and manufactured mostly by European or American companies. 30537 T00401030537 ^x It is well known that nonlinear propagation characteristics of the wave in the tissue may give very useful information for the medical diagnoisis. In this paper, a new method to detect nonlinear propagation characteristics of the internal vibration in the tissue for the low frequency mechanical vibration by using bispectral analysis is proposed. In the method, low frequency vibration of f0( = 100Hz) is applied on the surface of the object, and the waveform of the internal vibration x (t) is measured from Doppler frequency modulation of silmultaneously transmitted probing ultrasonic waves. Then, the bispectra of the signal x (t) at the frequencies (f0, f0) and (f0, 2f0) are calculated to estimate the nonlinear propagation characteristics as their magnitude ratio, w here since bispectrum is free from the gaussian additive noise we can get the value with high S/N. Basic experimental system is constructed by using 3.0 MHz probing ultrasonic waves and the several experiments are carried out for some phantoms. To synthesize microspheres for biomedical application, "two stage shot growth method" was developed. The uniformity ratio of synthesized microspheres was always smaller than 1.05. And the surface charge density (or the number of ionizable functional groups) of the microspheres synthesized by "two stage shot growth method" was 6~13 times higher than that of the microspheres synthesized by conventional seeded batch copolymerization. As a previous step for biomedical application, adsorption experiments of bovine albumin on microspheres were carried out under various conditions. The maximum adsorbed amount was obtained in the neighborhood of pH 4.5. Isoelectric point of bovine albumin is pH 5.0, so experimental result shows that it shifted to acid area. Our department has developed an information system for routine hematology using down-sized computer system. We have used an IBM 486 compatible PC with 16MB main memory, 210 MB hard disk drive, 9 RS-232C port and 24 pin dot printer. The operating system and database management system were SCO UNIX and SCO foxbase, respectively. For program development, we used Xbase language provided by SCO foxbase. The C language was used for interface purpose. To make the system use friendly, pull-down menu was used. The system connected to our hospital information system via application program interface (API), so the information related to patient and request details is automatically transmitted to our computer. Our system interfaced with fwd complete blood count analyzers(Sysmex NE-8000 and Coulter STKS) for unidirectional data tansmission from analyzer to computer.   • The wall shear stress in the vicinity of end-to end anastomoses under steady flow conditions was measured using a flush-mounted hot-film anemometer(FMHFA) probe. The experimental measurements were in good agreement with numerical results except in flow with low Reynolds numbers. The wall shear stress increased proximal to the anastomosis in flow from the Penrose tubing (simulating an artery) to the PTFE: graft. In flow from the PTFE graft to the Penrose tubing, low wall shear stress was observed distal to the anastomosis. Abnormal distributions of wall shear stress in the vicinity of the anastomosis, resulting from the compliance mismatch between the graft and the host artery, might be an important factor of ANFH formation and the graft failure. The present study suggests a correlation between regions of the low wall shear stress and the development of anastomotic neointimal fibrous hyperplasia(ANPH) in end-to-end anastomoses. 30523 T00401030523 ^x Air pressure decay(APD) rate and ultrafiltration rate(UFR) tests were performed on new and saline rinsed dialyzers as well as those roused in patients several times. C-DAK 4000 (Cordis Dow) and CF IS-11 (Baxter Travenol) reused dialyzers obtained from the dialysis clinic were used in the present study. The new dialyzers exhibited a relatively flat APD, whereas saline rinsed and reused dialyzers showed considerable amount of decay. C-DAH dialyzers had a larger APD(11.70${\pm}$1.32mmHg/min)compared to CF dialyzers(4.32${\pm}$0.55mmHg/min)(p<0.05). However, there was no observable difference in the UFR between the two dialyzers. Neither APD nor UFR showed any significant increase with an increasing number of reuses for up to more than 20reuses. A substantial number of failures observed in APD(larger than 20mmHe/min)on the reused dialyzers(2 out of 40 CP and S out 26 C-DAK) were attributed to the Possible damage on the fibers. The CT images were transformed into bitmap data by using a film scanner, and then analyzed by using a commercially available software called Image v.1.0 and a Macintosh IIci computer.The resulting data were compared with already published data. The major results show that the geometry of the Korean femurs is significantly different from that of Caucasians: (1) the anteversion angle and the canal flare index are greater by the amount of approximately 8˚ and 0.5, respectively, (2) the shape of the isthmus cross section is more round, and (3) the distance between the teaser trochanter and the proximal border of the isthmus is shelter by about 15 mm. Optimal stimulus parameters, which can minimize muscle fatigue and can achieve effective muscle contraction were determined in slow and fast muscles in Sprague-Dawley rats. Stimulus patterns of our stimulator were designed to simulate electromyographic activity monitored during locomotion of normal subjects. Muscle types of the lower extremity were classified according to their mechanical property of contraction, which are slow muscle (msoleus m.) and fast muscle (medial gastrocneminus m., rectus femoris m., vastus lateralis m.). Optimal parameters of electrical stimulation for slow muscles were 20 Hz, 0.2 ms square pulse. For fast muscle, 40 Hz, 0.3 ms square pulse was optimal to produce repeated contraction. Higher stimulus intensity was required when synergistic muscles were stimulated simultaneously than when they were stimulated individually. Electrical stimulation for each muscle was designed to generate bipedal locomotion, so that individual muscles alternate contraction and relaxation to simulate stance and swing phases. Portable electrical stimulator with 16 channels built in microprocessor was constructed and applied to paraplegic patients due to lumbar cord injury.
