섬유혼합토의 비선형 동적물성치 (Nonlinear Dynamic Properties of Fiber Reinforced Soils)

  • 본 논문은 공진주시험과 삼축압축시험을 이용하여 소변형률(0.0001%~l%) 범위에서 섬유혼합토의 변형 특성을 규명하였으며, 최대전단탄성계수를 잣대로 보강효과를 평가하였다. 또한 단섬유의 직경에 대한 길이의 비(형상비), 흙의 중량에 대한 섬유 중량의 섬유혼합비, 단섬유의 종류에 따른 보강효과를 비교 검토하였다. 시료는 주문진 표준사에 폴리프로필렌 재질의 단섬유를 무작위로 배합하여 사용하였다. 섬유혼합토의 최대전단탄성계수는 비혼합토에 비해 최대 30%까지 증가하였고, 비선형 영역에서의 전단탄성계수 감소량도 억제되었다. 형상비가 증가할수록 최대전단 탄성계수는 증가하고, 단사에 비해 망사의 보강 효과가 큰 것으로 나타났다. 섬유혼합비는 0.3 % 부근에서 보강효과가 가장 커, 최적인 것으로 확인되었다.

  • Triaxial compression tests were run to study on the undrained strength characteristics of fiber mixed kaolin clay(Hadong). The influence of various test parameters such as amount and aspect ratio(ratio of length to diameter) of fiber, confining stress was also investigated. Test results showed that the increase in aspect ratio was increased in deviator stress at failure, but no effect on pore water pressure at failure. Deviator stress at failure was also increased at 0.5% mixing ratio(weight fraction of fiber to that of soil solid) of fiber but it was, thereafter, decreased and wits reached to constant after 2% mixing ratio. On the contrary, Pore water pressure at failure was increased as mixing ratio of fiber was greater than 1%. Deviator stress and pore water pressure of both clay and fiber mixed clay(FMC) at failure were increased as confining stress was increased. Deviator stress of FMC at failure was about 10% larger than that of clay, but pore water pressure of FMC at failure was almost similar to that of clay.

  • The mechanical properties of short carbon/glass fiber reinforced polypropylene are experimentally measured as functions of fiber content and nozzle diameter. Also, these properties are compared with the survival rate of reinforced fibers and fiber volume fraction using image analysis after pyrolytic decomposition. The survival rate of fiber aspect ratio as well as fiber volume fraction is influenced by injection processing condition, the used materials and mold conditions such as diameter of nozzle, etc. In this study, the survival rate of fiber aspect ratio is investigated by nozzle size variations in injection/mold sides. It is found that the survival rate of glass fiber is higher that the survival rate of glass fiber is higher than that of carbon fiber. Both tensile modulus and strength of short-fiber reinforced polypropylene are improved s the fiber volume fraction and nozzle diameter are increased.

  • Thermo-mechanical behavior of discontinuous shape memory alloy(SMA) reinforced polymeric composite has been studied using modified shear lag theory and finite element(FE) analysis with 2-D multi-fiber model. The aligned and staggered models of short-fiber arrangement are employed. The effects of fiber overlap and aspect ratio on the thermomechanical responses such as the thermal expansion coefficient are investigated. It is found that the increase of both tensile stress(resistance stress) in SMA fiber and compressive stress in polymer matrix with increasing aspect ratio is the main cause of low thermal deformation of the composite.

  • In this thesis, the fatigue tests were performed on a series of SFRC (steel fiber reinforced concrete)to investigate the flexural tensile behavior of SFRC varying with the steel fiber contents and the steel fiber aspect ratios. Beam specimens of 10$\times$10$\times$60cm are used. the specimen series are classified according to the steel fiber contents varying 0.5. 1.0, 1.5%, and to the steel fiber aspect ratios varying 60, 80, 100. The three point loading system was used in the fatigue tests. The minimum value of repeated loading was fixed at 10.0kgf and maximum value was 75% to static ultimate strength for periodically using concrete strain gages located at the lower end of the mid-span, and the stress-strain curves were drawn for each specimens, respectively. From the tests result, it was found that the larger steel fiber content and the smaller the steel fiber aspect ratio is , the tensile strain of SFRC under fatigue load proportionally increases. By the regression analysis on these results, the empirical formulae to predict the tensile strain of SFRC were suggested. In comparison of the tensile elastic modulus under fatigue load, it was also found that the larger steel fiber content and the smaller steel fiber aspect ratio is , the smaller decreasing rate of the stiffness of SFRC under fatigue load decreased.

재성형된 단섬유 보강점토의 구성과 보강효과 (Composition and Peinforcing Effect of Remolded Short Fiber Reinforced Clay)

  • A series of consolidated undrained triaxial compression testes were performed to increase field applications of soil admixtures mixed with short fiber. Kaolin clay and three types of fiber were selected and auto cutter was used to obtain reliable length of fibers. Remolded soil specimens were tested for obtaining the basic data to be applied to the reinforcement of soft clay, embankment or barrier and clay liner of wastes landfill etc. Conversion equations from weight to volume of clay mixed with short fiber are introduced and relationships between fiber content and fiber concentration are derived. It is found that reinforcing effect by aspect ratio and mixing ratio of short fiber decreases as confining pressure increases. The best efficient reinforcing effect is given at the aspect ratio of 80~120 and the fiber content of 1.2%~2.4% and the fiber diameter of 0.27mm.

Compaction and strength behavior of lime-coir fiber treated Black Cotton soil

  • This paper describes the compaction and strength behavior of black cotton soil (BC soil) reinforced with coir fibers. Coir used in this study is processed fiber from the husk of coconuts. BC soil reinforced with coir fiber shows only marginal increase in the strength of soil, inhibiting its use for ground improvement. In order to further increase the strength of the soil-coir fiber combination, optimum percentage of 4% of lime is added. The effect of aspect ratio, percentage fiber on the behavior of the composite soil specimen with curing is isolated and studied. It is found that strength properties of optimum combination of BC soil-lime specimens reinforced with coir fibers is appreciably better than untreated BC soil or BC soil alone with coir fiber. Lime treatment in BC soil improves strength but it imparts brittleness in soil specimen. BC soil treated with 4% lime and reinforced with coir fiber shows ductility behavior before and after failure. An optimum fiber content of 1% (by weight) with aspect ratio of 20 for fiber was recommended for strengthening BC soil.

  • This experimental study were carried out in order to investigate the shear strength of steel fiber reinforced Concrete(SFRC). 96 specimens have been tested for shear strength and 32 specimens for flexural. The test parameters were the volume fraction of steel fiber and aspect ratio. The test results show that shear strength are increased as fiber content, aspect ratio increases.

  • 변형경화형 시멘트 복합체(SHCC)의 직접인장거동은 주로 물시멘트비, 섬유와 매트릭스 간의 상호작용, 부착강도, 섬유 혼입율 등에 의해 영향을 받는다. 본 논문은 PET 및 PVA섬유를 사용한 SHCC의 직접인장거동에서 섬유의 형상비의 영향을 평가하기 위해 PET섬유의 형상비(Aspect ratio, ${\ell}/d_f$ : 150, 300, 600)를 변수로 선정하였다. 동일한 배합조건에서 PET1.5+PVA0.5-300 및 PET1.5+PVA0.5-600시험체는 PET1.5+PVA0.5-150에 비해 우수한 유사변형경화특성과 미세균열분산 특성을 보였으며, PET1.5+PVA0.5-300 및 PET1.5+PVA0.5-600 시험체는 최대인장응력시 각각 0.5, 2.0%의 변형율을 나타내었다.

  • This study has been done to investigate the characteristics of synthetic fiber reinforcement sol with fully satruated . To this end, consolidated undrained triaxial test was performed on synthetic fiber reinforcement soil using the soft clay and plypropylene fiber . From the results of test, it was formed that the mixing ratio for weight and the aspect ratio of synthetic fiber have an effect on the shear characteristic of synthetic fiber rinforcement soil. Especially shear paramter C has line relationship for mixing ratio of fiber, and øhas parabolic relationship for mixing ratio of fiber.
