Especially, they were satisfied with price, design, color, and size, while they were dissatisfied with sewing and fabric in discount products. Contemporary young people reveal their own personal values through the fashion that creates visual looks. Since 2000s began, young generations who are self-centered, value their own personality and constantly seek for changes form the main axis of fashion. In particular, the lower half of the body that has begun to be exposed outward has become the region that they want to expose as more ideal region than the upper half of the body. Further, young generations always have interest in fashion, and female college students in their early 20s are regarded as the group that values the aspects of pleasure that involve clothes and tends to seek sensibility when purchasing clothes. With this background, this study aims to examine how the styles that apply to modern fashion and recent vogues are evaluated with a focus on skinny jean from jean pants styles preferred by female college students. Materials regarding theoretical background and photos were collected from fashion related magazines at home and abroad and from the Internet websites. Questionnaires were surveyed for 160 female college students aged 20 or 25 who live in Seoul, and the results show as follows: Many female college students enjoy skinny jean and follow the fashion. However there are consumers who cling to their own styles even in the fashion of skinny jen. Ironically, some consumers wear it although they consider it as an item that does not fit Koreans: they tend to consider perspectives from others rather than their own preferences. For example, they wear it in order to show it to their boy friends or because they want themselves to look slim. In addition consumers seem to use Dongdaemun Shopping Mall or Internet shopping malls that provide various and low-priced items rather than to use high-priced famous products. It is considered that this result is shown as above because the scope of the study was restricted to female college students in their 20s. Accordingly, it is suggested that further studies should extend their subjects to wider range of ages.
This study classifies the lifestyle of elderly female consumers in their 60's and 70's and examines the influence of lifestyles on personal clothing purchase behavior. This paper classified the types of lifestyle and examined the influence of lifestyle types on the perceived importance of salesperson's characteristics and store evaluation criteria. A survey was conducted on 194 elderly females in their 60's and 70's living in Seoul. The SPSS 14.0 program was used to analyze the data. Descriptive statistics, factor analysis, reliability analysis, K-means cluster analysis, and one-way ANOVA followed by Duncan post hoc comparisons were conducted. The research results are as follow. First, in order to identify the lifestyle factors of elderly female consumers a factor analysis was conducted that indicated 9 factors. Second, as a result of the cluster analysis of lifestyle types, the respondents were classified into 'proactives', 'passive stagnants', 'independent misers', and 'conservative consumers'. Third, according to lifestyle, weight on 'appearance and image', 'professionalism', 'ethics', 'similarity', and 'customer orientation' abilities of the salesperson were significantly different. Fourth, in relation to the store evaluation criteria by lifestyle, a significant difference was found in the attention to 'physical service' by a salesperson.
The purposes of this study are to verify the validity of the conceptual structure of clothing shopping orientation(CSO) developed in the previous research, and to explore the difference of CSO structure between male and female consumer groups. For those purposes, data of 499 male and female consumers were collected. Confirmatory factor analysis, ANOVA, and simultaneous factor analysis were used for data analysis. The results are as follows. First, as a result of confirmatory factor analysis, the validity of conceptual structure of CSO was verified. Second, as a result of ANOVA, male and female showed significantly different CSO at the lower-dimensions level, and as a result of simultaneous factor analysis, male and female showed significantly different relationships between dimensions within the structure. This means that the CSOs of both male and female can be explained by the same CSO structure model, but the specific relationships between CSO dimensions are different by the gender of consumers. Finally, directions for fashion marketing mix concerning the CSO structures of male and female were suggested.

The preferred sensations by female consumer were 5; reasonal, feminine, conspicuous, active, and modest, and the clusters according to the sensations were 5: the casual, the status-symbolism, the rich in contents, the romantist, and the elegance. Brand relationship, which refers to the bond between brands and consumers, plays an important role in marketing due to its positive or negative effects on consumer behavior. The goals of this research were 1) to identify the types of brand relationships between young female consumers and apparel brands, and 2) to examine the influence of brand relationships over consumers'favorable attitudes and strong attachment (durability) to the brands. For the purpose of this study, ten casual wear brands, which are highly perceived by and popular with high school and university female students, were chosen by a preliminary inquiry. And then focused group interviews were performed to develop a questionnaire. The main examination was performed from August 20 to September 12, 2000, using five types of surveys each of which contained two brands. SPSS 8.0 was used for factor analysis and recession analysis. Four types of brand relationships were categorized based on the results of factor analysis: self-devotion, intimacy, rejection and trust. Each factor showed significant influence on both positive altitude and durability.
Despite widespread awareness of the importance of a middle-aging and older consumer market, it is surprising that very little research has been conducted on their in-home shopping behavior. Therefore, this study focused on middle-aging and older female television home shoppers and examined the effects of persuasive mentions of the show host and parasocial interaction on social involvement, perceived loneliness, mood, perceived risk and unplanned buying tendency. A total of 109 middleaged and older female television shoppers responded. Results of path analysis revealed that persuasive mentions did not influence parasocial interaction. However, as middle-aging and older consumers more para-socially interacted with the host, they were likely to use television shopping for alleviating loneliness. Practical and theoretical implications were discussed.
The goal of this study was to examine which factors influence consumers' demands to reveal the identity of GMO(Genetically Modified Organism) food, risk perception, and decision-making to purchase it. Consumers perceived its risk, and demanded labeling to identify it. Not many consumers wanted to buy GMO food. The results also revealed as follows. First, the level of demand to label for identifying GMO food were high among female consumers, consumers with negative attitude, and consumers severly perceived its risk. The level of perceived risk was high among consumers who were old and had high income, exercised their own healthy programs, showed negative attitude toward GMO food, and demanded strongly for labelling. Second, old consumers, consumers with high income, consumers concerning more about health, consumers with negative attitude and strong demand to label for identifying GMO food were more likely to perceive risk highly for GMO food. Third, consumers' attitudes and the level of perceived risks for GMO food significantly influenced the decision-making to purchase GMO food. However, other variables turned out not to affect consumers' decision-making to purchase it.
