This study aimed to generate basic data for enhancing efficiency of education by analyzing and comparing the differences between students and teachers in their attitudes for female teachers'attire. A questionnaire was administered to about 622 students and 176 teachers (from elementary, middle and high schools) in Seoul and Suwon in South Korea. Data obtained from the responses were analyzed using the SPSS program. The results were as follows: First, both students and teachers exhibited higher than average scores in neatness and modesty of female teachers' attire and hair style, and especially teachers considered modesty of attire more important, while students considered neatness of hair style more important. Teachers thought the correlation between attire and efficiency of instruction was high, while students thought otherwise. Also, teachers usually considered teacher' attire more important than students did. Second, according to the results of analysis by school, students in elementary schools considered neatness of female teachers' attire and hair style to be more important than teachers did. On the other hand, teachers in high schools considered it more important than students did. With regard to modesty, the difference between students and teachers became significant in high schools compared to middle schools. In middle and high schools, teachers demanded modest outfits for female teachers more strongly than students did. Across elementary, middle and high schools, teachers exhibited a more positive attitude toward the correlation between what female teachers wear and their teaching efficiency.

In spite that spatial ability has been recognized as an important element of academic achievement in engineering studies, researches on the topic are rather limited in Korea. In this study, the relationship between spatial visualization skill and academic achievement of engineering students was investigated based on the several variables such as gender, high school education background and college course achievement. The result showed that there were significant relevance between spatial visualization skill and gender, high school type, achievement of high school level math & physics, and college course work grade of computer graphic and capstone design. According the case study, from the entry time of engineering college, support programs to reinforce spatial visualization skill are required for lower skill groups such as female and graduate from art course in high school. Also, college curriculum such as Engineering graphics, Capstone design are substantial to improve spatial visualization skill. However, more diversified sample groups and research methods are required in order to draw in depth results.
The purpose of this study is to find out how well the middle school students are practicing the health promotion behaviors and the factors relating their health promotion behavior. Questionnaire survey on 922 middle school students attending 6 middle schools (three middle schools for each sex) located in Taegu City from the 7th through 19th of Feb. 2000 were conducted. The following were as follows; 1. The perceived health status is higher in male students than in female students(p〈0.01). And the ratio of the students' feeling that they are healthy becomes also high in proportion to their economic status, and their mothers' educational level, and their parents' interest in health(p〈0.01). The perceived importance of health is high in proportion to the students' economic status, and their parent's interest in health. 2. In case of the Health Locus of Control in Personality, the students with both parents have higher trend of inner control than the students with single mother or single father. The perceived self efficacy is significantly higher in male students than in female students(p〈0.01). And it becomes significantly high in-proportion to the students' economic status and their parents' educational level and interest in health(p〈0.01). It is also higher in the students who had no diseases. 3. In case of the perceived benefit of the health promotion behavior, the ratio of the students responding that it is high is higher in male students than in female students(p〈0.01). It also becomes high in proportion to the students' economic status, and their parent's educational level and interest in health(p〈0.01). The barriers of the health promotion behavior was found to have no variables that are related to itself. 4. According to the data from Multiple Regression of Analysis which has the health promotion behavior practice as a subordinate variable, in male students' case the degree of health promotion behavior practice becomes high in proportion to their parents' interest in health, and the perceived health status. Their degree of health promotion behavior practice is also in proportion to their perceived self efficacy and the perceived benefit of the health promotion behavior practice. But in case of the barriers of the health promotion behavior practice, the result is the opposite. As to the female students, their health behavior practice becomes high in proportion to their parents' interest in health. It also becomes high in proportion to the perceived health status, the understanding of the importance of the health, the perceived self efficacy and the perceived benefit of the health promotion behavior. But in case of the barriers of the health promotion behavior, it was the same as the male students' case.
The purpose of this study is to provide the necessarily basic data of the ideal growth of the students by investigating the effect of the student's stress due to the parent's achievement pressure. The sample of this study are In students consisting of 51 boys and 49 girls in the 3rd grade classes of "J" middle school located in Siheung city, Kyungki-do. The observed materials are used to investigate the parent's achievement pressure and the level of stress. Based on the observed data, the frequency, correlation, and t-test have been gained. The results are summarized as follows : 1. The perception of the parent's achievement pressure is shown more by the boy's achievement pressure($44.2{\pm}9.9$) than the girl's achievement pressure($39.939{\pm}11.089$), among the high level students. 2. The perception of the parent's achievement pressure is shown more the high($43.0{\pm}10.7$) and middle($42.9{\pm}11.8$) level students than the low($39.7{\pm}8.00$) level students. 3. The stress of male students was high in the Solving Problem stress factor with by the mean of $15.1{\pm}3.7$, and the stress of female students was high in the Self-Control stress factor with the mean of $13.3{\pm}3.9$. 4. The stress of high, middle, low level student was high in the Solution of Matter stress factor with the mean of $14.2{\pm}3.9$. 5. The results were the main cause of the stress than the parent's achievement pressure.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to find out the suicide ideation of high school students in urban and rural areas, and especially to research the relationship between suicide ideation, and general characteristics, characteristics of school life, and empirical characteristics of suicide. Methods: This research targeted four urban and four rural high schools in two cities. The study subjects were 1,114 students in urban area and 968 students in rural area, total 2,082 students. The survey was conducted from July 1, 2009 to July 31, 2009. For statistical analysis, chi-square test, t-test and ANOVA were used for investigating related factors with suicide ideation in urban and rural areas, respectively, with multiple logistic regression for multivariate analysis. Results: The results showed that 38.8% of respondents had suicide ideation within 1 year. The percentage of female students (44.8%) was significantly higher than that of male students (33.4%). However, there was no significant difference between urban (38.0%) and rural area (39.9%). The significant influencing factors on suicide ideation in multiple logistic regression were gender [female student OR(odds ratio)=1.80 (95% CI 1.31-2.47) compared with male student] and grade [second year OR=1.40 (95% CI 0.98-2.00), third year OR=2.15 (95% CI 1.49-3.12) compared with first year] in urban area. Those in rural area were gender [female student OR(odds ratio)=2.71 (95% CI 1.23-2.38) compared with male student], economic deterioration [yes OR=1.81 (95% CI 1.24-2.64) compared with no], and grade [second year OR=2.80 (95% CI 1.82-4.32), third year OR=3.84 (95% CI 2.52-5.87) compared with first year]. Conclusions: This study showed about 40% of high school students had suicide ideation within 1 year. A suicide prevention program may be implemented considering factors related with suicide ideation identified in this study.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the dynamics of dating violence among male and female adolescents. Out of 1205 high school students. 90.6%(n=1092) was included for the final analysis. 120 students(11.9%) reported to have experienced physical violence with a dating partner at least once or more. The most frequently used forms of violence were pushing and grabbing. Both of aggressors and victims interpreted the violence as an expression of love and affection. Coping behavior of victims were quite passive, while aggressors tried to apologize and to make-up. Most of victims were angry about violence. while aggressors felt sorry for their behavior. 72.5% of respondents reported that the relationship remained unchanged or got better after the violence. while 26.7% answered their relationship was terminated or got worse. 157 respondents(14.4%) reported to have experienced psychological violence at least once or more. Shouting and insulting language or behavior were most frequently used. Coping behavior of victims was mostly negotiation and communication. Based on the findings of this study, suggestions were made in regard to student guidance and counseling for dating aggression.
This study researched the toothbrushing behavior and perception of oral health condition in accordance with the use of cafeteria, 280 Students of 28 high schools in Daegu and Gyeongbuk to identify the relationship between cafeteria use and oral health. and then obtained statistically significant results like below. Toothbrushing after meals and snacks was high with female students and Grade3. Rinsing mouth for ten times or more after toothbrushing was high with female students and private car while the use of oral care products was high with female students, Grade3, and private car. The whole average frequency of using cafeteria was 2.26 while the perception of oral health condition was 3.44. The frequency of using cafeteria was high with Grade2, before time for school, and lots of allowance. The perception of oral health condition was high with male students, school bus, and lots of allowance. The frequency of using cafeteria in accordance with toothbrushing behavior was high with toothbrushing for longer than three minutes(2.45) while the perception of oral health condition was high in case when using oral care products(3.32). In the results of multiple regression analysis to understand the influence of perception of oral health condition, general characteristics, and toothbrushing behavior on the frequency of using cafeteria, it was analyzed like Y(frequency of using cafeteria)=-952+.393(perception of oral health condition)- 1.721(time for school)+ .991(allowance)+ 1.124(duration of toothbrushing). Based on the results above, it would be necessary to establish the educational system to continuously practice the correct oral health care education in school.
In order to cultivate the talents acquired in the fourth industrial revolution, developed countries' government are actively engaged in the campaigns encouraging K-12 students to participate in the maker movement. Maker education is regarded as one possible solution based on high tech in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution, and it is spreading widely along with STEM education. In South Korea, STEAM education was actively conducted nationwide, and since 2017, STEAM and maker education have been linked showing mutual development. However, compared to STEAM education linked to the curriculum, comparison and activity-based research on maker education for teenagers is still insufficient. Therefore, this study aimed to suggest implications for STEAM education and maker education by analyzing the motivation of Korean youth to participate in maker activities. The subjects of this study are high school students who participated in maker education programs in student community for the first time in Korea. In this study, students were classified into engineering-related career group and non-engineering-related career groups based on their career intentions, and the motivation and understanding of participation in maker activities were compared. As a result of the study, male students participated more in maker education community activities than female students, and the engineering-related career group had a higher intention to participate in games, outdoor activities, IT equipment, digital production, and electrical/electronic production activities than the non-engineering-related career group. In addition, in the fields of handicraft/art, home baking, installing, and horticultural agriculture, there was no difference in the intention of participate in the engineering-related career group and the non-engineering-related career group. It was found that the engineering-related career group believed that there was a strong relationship between the maker education community activity, career exploration and future career choice, while the non-engineering-related career group believed that the relationship is less strong. It was also found that the engineering-related career group was participating more actively in the maker activity than the other group.
