Vibration Suppression of Smart Structures Using a Combined PPF-SRF Control Technique (PPF와 SRF 조합기법을 사용한 지능구조물의 능동진동제어)

  • This paper is concerned with the active vibration controller design for the grid structure based on the positive position feedback (PPF) and the strain rate feedback (SRF) control. A new control methodology by the combination of the PPF and SRF control can suppress all the modes of the structure theoretically and can be easily implemented with analog circuits. The underlying concept for the design of the new controller is that the SRF controller stabilizes the modes higher than the second mode and the PPF controller stabilizes the fundamental mode which is destabilized by the SRF controller. In order for the new controller to be implemented succesfully, the collocated control is necessary. To this end, the piezoceramic sensor and actuator are located as close as possible, thus realizing the nearly collocated control. The combined PPF and ARF controller proves its effectiveness by experiments.

  • In this paper, a controller recognizing human gestures using EMG signal is shown. The tiny and band-type controller is developed for image training to excercise the specific area in the body, and uses a dry-type silver fiber electrode easy to be attached or detached itself to a skin. The captured EMG signals are converted to 10-bit digital values via amplification and frequency filtering processes within the controller, and are transmitted to the server by wireless. As the gesture recognition ratio using the proposed controller on biceps is up to 80%, we expect the practical potential of the controller is very promising.

  • A new controller design algorithm based on the Hessenberg form for linear control systems has een proposed. The controller is composed of the dynamic compensator and the state feedback (dynamic state feedback). The algorithm gives a simple way to assign the eigenstructure (eigenvalues and eigenvectors) of the closed loop system and it also provides a method to assign the frequency shapes near the corner frequencies of the closed loop transfer function matrix. Because of this property, the algorithm is called the independent frequency shape control (IFSC) method.

  • A study on gust loads alleviation using aircraft control surface was performed. Aeroservoelastic model including control surface controller was formulated and validated by comparing the results of continuous turbulence response analysis with those of MSC/NASTRAN. Optimal control with output feedback was adopted for designing the control surface controller, and the effects of gust loads alleviation was validated by performing the numerical simulation for the controller designed.

  • This paper considers the decentralized control problem of linear time-invariant interconnected systems with delays. A decentralized output-feedback controller to obtain both stability and performance of the interconnected system is designed using the standard $H_\infty$ control theory, This paper provides sufficient conditions for such a controller to exist and provides an output feedback controller.

  • A nonlinear feedback linearizing control method for a EMS(Electro Magnetic Suspension) system is proposed. After linearizing the system using the exact linearizing method, conventional linear system control theory has been applied. Computer simulations are carried out in order to compare the performance of the proposed controller with that of the existing controller designed by using Taylor series expansion around nominal points.

  • In this paper ,ie propose a hybrid position/force controller of a robot manipulator using double-layer neural network. Each layer is constructed from inverse dynamics and Jacobian transpose matrix, respectively. The weighting value of each neuron is trained by using a feedback force as an error signal. If the neural networks are sufficiently trained it does not require the feedback-loop with error signals. The effectiveness of the proposed hybrid position/force controller is demonstrated by computer simulation using a PUMA 560 manipulator.

  • The Auto Tuning Controller is designed using Fuzzy set theory. And to verify its validity it is Applied to the Auto Tuner of hydraulic Control System. Fuzzy Tuning Procedures are written by linguistic model and translated into C language formation by preprocessor. Then it is executed with state feedback controller in real time, Fuzzy Logic Controller adjusts state feedback gain by proper tuning logic in each step to satisfy the desired maximum overshoot and settling time.

  • This paper deals with the analytic structure of feedback controller for linear time invariant discrete systems. On the way of developing the deadbeat controller, some necessary conditions for control policy have been derived. In the case of time delay, it was proved that the q periods delay in the control causes q periods delay in the point at which deadbeat response occurs. Theorems and conclusions are illustrated with some simple nontrivial numerical examples and signal state tracking application problems.
