The purpose of this study is to analyze factors impacting on the middle & high school students' dental treatment fear and distrust of dentists with dental caries experience to provide empirical data for the development of students oral health. The subjects of this study consists of 720 middle & high school students in Daegu area. The data were collected from July 1, 2009 to September 30, 2009 by self-administrative questionnaires. Among sub-scales of Dental Fear Survey(DFS), stimulate-response factor was the highest ($3.42{\pm}0.98$), and patient distrust toward dintist factor was the highest score($3.07{\pm}0.912$) among sub-scales of Dentist Distrust Survey(DDS). Mean score of DFS were DDS were higher in female than male student. The students who have higher DFS and DDS score, the also have high DMFT index. The higher DDS, the higher DFS, and it was statistically significant(p<0.001). The results suggest that oral health status of adolescent can improve diminishing dental fear and dentist distrust if patient-specific medical service may be provided.
The purpose of this study was to test the reliability and validity of the Korean version of the fear of daily activities questionnaire (FDAQ) for low back pain patients. Seventy-three subjects with low back pain were participated in this study. The subjects completed ten standardized self-administered questionnaires that measure fear of specific daily activities. The reliability of the acquired data was determined by the intra-class correlation coefficient (ICC) and the Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ for internal consistency. Constructive validity was analyzed by factor analysis, and concurrent validity was acquired from comparison FDAQ scores to the visual analogue scale (VAS) and Oswestry disability index (ODI) scores. The test-retest reliability of the Korean version of the FDAQ showed good ICC (2,1)= 0.96 (95%CI 0.94.0.98) and Cronbach's alpha value was 0.93. Factor analysis suggested two factors solution consisting of spinal loading and spinal movement/posture, it explained 76.1% of the total variance. The concurrent validity was moderately related with pain and disability. Therefore, the Korean version of the FDAQ is a useful method for measuring the fear of daily activities of patients with low back pain.

Start-ups are the driving force of economic development and play an important role in improving national competitiveness. The country's start-up support policies are increasing every year, but indicators that do not challenge them and do not consider future start-ups can predict employment reduction and unemployment can increase further. You can. The increase in the number of young people doing nothing is causing economic hardship and neglect of future precious human resources, which calls for a more realistic national entrepreneurship policy. Accordingly, this study sought to identify bias and environmental factors in order to reveal factors that influence the will to start a business among potential entrepreneurs in Korea. For this purpose, descriptive statistical analysis was performed using SPSS on a sample of 227 responses from the general public who are potential entrepreneurs interested in starting a business. As a result, prejudice decreased the will to start a business and increased fear of failure. On the other hand, the entrepreneur's environmental factors reduced the fear of failure and increased the will to start a business. Lastly, fear of failure was found to play a mediating role between the two independent variables and the will to start a business. The results of this study showed that prejudice was a negative factor in the will to start a business, and the environment was a positive factor. These research results suggest that in order to revitalize entrepreneurship, positive environmental factors that can provide entrepreneurs' correct recognition and support for entrepreneurship are necessary.
Objective : The effect Saenggitang (GT), which has been used for amnesia, in Oriental Medicine, on memory and learning ability, was investigated. Methods : Hot water extracts (HWE) of SGT were used for the studies. In passive avoidance performances (step through test), active avoidance performances (lever press test), Motor activity, pentobarbital-induced sleep, 20 and 50 mg/100g of SGT-HWE ameliorated the memory retrieval deficit induced by 40% ethanol. Results : The SGT-HWE did not affect the ambulatory activity of normal mice in normal condition. 20 and 50 mg/100g of SGT-HWE enhanced contextual fear memory, but not cued fear memory in a fear conditioning task, which requires the activation of the NMDA (N-methyl-D-aspartase) receptor. SGT-HWE did not affect the motor activity measured by the titling type ambulometer test performed immediately and 24 hr after the administration. SGT-HWE prolonged the sleeping time induced by 50 mg/kg pentobarbital in mice and decreased SMA (spontaneous motor activity) in active avoidance performances (lever press test). Conclusion : These results indicate that the SGT-HWE have an improving effect on the memory retrieval disability induced by ethanol and may act as a stimulating factor for activating the NMDA receptor. and the SGT-HWE has a tranquilizing and anti-anxiety action.
This study proposed that a relationship exists between individual emotions and knowledge sharing (KS) intentions in competitive online advice communities. Through statistical analysis of 220 valid questionnaires collected from qualified community members, we found that individuals' intentions to contribute knowledge were enhanced by playfulness and reciprocity, while their intention to seek knowledge from others was facilitated significantly by needs fulfillment, sense of competition, and playfulness. In addition, we found that playfulness was a common factor that affected the intention to seek, as well as to contribute, knowledge. Specifically, playfulness was a highly significant individual emotion that affected both individuals' intention to contribute and seek knowledge, while reciprocity was significant primarily in individuals' intentions to contribute knowledge. Needs fulfillment and sense of competition were significant emotions that affected primarily individuals' intentions to seek knowledge. Interestingly, the factors that affected the intention to seek knowledge were consistent both in all participants and in the high-level fear group. However, in the low-level fear group, playfulness influenced KS intentions.
Anxiety is essentially a normal emotion with great adaptive significance like pain. to ease human suffering, treatment is sought to quell pain and anxiety only when they are excessive or when they interfere with performance or general health. In oriental medicine, anxiety has been also known as a important factor which is cause of body and mind disease. We obtained some points after studying of bibliographic research about anxiety and anxiety disorder like follows: 1. The signification of anxiety is similar to fear affection(恐情) and anxious feelings are fearful, long for solitary life and afraid of captivity. 2. Mechanism of anxiety disorder is related with kidney(腎) as well as heart(心), liver(肝), gall bladder(膽) and stomach(胃). 3. The prescription of fear affection is tonifying of kidney(益腎) and fixing of kidney's pure substance(固精) that is based on deficiency of kidney(賢氣不足) 4. A representative disorder about anxiety and phobia are Keongke(驚悸) and Cheongchung(정충). 5. Keongke(驚悸) and Cheongchung(정충) may be understood as phobias(恐佈症), general anxiety disorder(凡不安障碍) and panic disorder(恐慌障碍).
Background: Falls are among the most common and serious health problems of older people. The psychological symptoms of falling have received relatively little attention compared to physical problems. Objective: The purpose of this study is to test a model to explain the factors that influence fear of falling among older adults living in a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) in Baltimore city, United States. Methods: A secondary analysis was conducted using data obtained from a Health Promotion Survey done on 149 older adults living in a CCRC. Data was originally obtained during face to face interviews with each participant. Descriptive statistics and bivariate correlations were used to describe the sample and evaluate simple correlations. A path analysis was done using the AMOS 4.0 statistical program. Results: Of the 49 hypothesized paths, 13 were statistically significant, and the model accounted for 22% of the variance in fear of falling among the elderly. There was support for the fit of the model to the data with a nonsignificant chi square at 0.478 (df=2, p=0.79), and the ratio of chi-square to degrees of freedom was 0.24, a CFI of 0.99 and RMSEA of 0.00. In particular, gender, a history of falling, and exercise were significant predictors of fear of falling. Conclusions/Implications: As anticipated, exercise is an important factor to prevent fear of falling. As a modifiable variable, self-efficacy and outcome expectation indirectly influence fear of falling through exercise.
The purpose of this study was to identify the factor structure of self-efficacy, consumer behavior, and the learning effects of the unit 'Consumption Life' and to study the effects of self-efficacy on the consumer behavior, and the learning effects of the unit 'Consumption Life'. Questionnaires were administered to 370 female middle school students living in the Metropolitan City of Daegu. The data was analyzed by using the frequency, descriptive statistics, factor analysis, reliability analysis, multiple regression, and t-test. The findings are as follow. Self-efficacy was composed of five factors such as the capability in work performance, rational performance, fear, anxiety, and the ability to challenge oneself. Consumer behavior was composed of five factors such as emphasis on product display, emphasis on information, emphasis on fashion, emphasis on appearance, and the products/information exchange. The learning effects of the unit 'Consumption Life' was composed of two factors in the economical consumption, and rational consumption. The effects of consumer behavior and the learning effects of the unit 'Consumption Life' on each of the self-efficacy factors like the capability in work performance, rational performance, fear, anxiety, the ability to challenge oneself were explained by factors such as emphasis on product display, emphasis on information, emphasis on fashion, emphasis on appearance and products/information exchange, and economical consumption and rational consumption.
Recently, there has been an increase in wellbeing marketing, which focuses on increasing consumer life satisfaction or consumers' sense of subjective wellbeing. Numerous studies have been conducted to identify which aspects contribute to consumer life satisfaction. In order to provide additional insights into consumer life satisfaction, this study aimed to identify the relationships among social psychological variables (consciousness of social face, social interaction anxiety, and career anxiety), shopping confidence, and life satisfaction. Shopping confidence in this study relates to confidence for clothing/accessories. It was hypothesized that social psychological variables influence life satisfaction not only directly but also indirectly through shopping confidence. Data were gathered by surveying university students in Seoul, using convenience sampling. Two hundred eighty six questionnaires were used in the statistical analysis. Factor analysis of consciousness of social face revealed two factors, 'desire to gain face' and 'fear of losing face'. Factor analysis of social interaction anxiety, shopping confidence, and life satisfaction revealed that these variables were uni-dimensional. Test of the hypothesized path showed that all social psychological variables influenced life satisfaction indirectly through shopping confidence, whereas 'fear of losing face' of consciousness of social face and career anxiety influenced life satisfaction directly. The results give marketers some understanding of their consumers' life satisfaction in relation to consciousness of social face, social interaction anxiety, career anxiety, and shopping confidence.
This study, the Fear of Missing Out Scale (FoMO Scale) developed by Przybylski et al. (2013) was adapted and validated to the Korean culture. 3-factors were constructed through EFA and item content analysis. In the CFA, 3 models were constructed to verify the fit of the model. Compared the goodness of fit, 3-factors model with 8 items proved to be the most appropriate. Sub-factors extracted through the characteristic context and rationale of Korean culture are 'belonging needs', 'extrinsic motivation', and 'relative deprivation'. K-FoMO scale and the reliability level of each sub-factor were good. Convergent validity was assessed by significant correlation the K-FoMO scores with life satisfaction, positive emotions, negative emotions, and SNS addiction proneness. Discriminant validity was assessed by low correlation with gratitude. At the end, limitation and suggestions for the future research were discussed.
