The purpose of this study was to compare the appearance similarity between a 3D virtual wedding dress, and a model wearing real dress, and production efficiency, and the possibility of achieving similar results with 3D digital technology. Five wedding dresses for small weddings under the theme of 'Dream Series', were designed and produced in virtual and real dresses to quantitatively compare and analyze the appearance similarity and production efficiency. Experts compared the appearance similarity on the silhouettes, colors, materials, and details, and production efficiency was compared with time and cost. Based on our results, 3D virtual images of four out of the five dresses were similar to the real images. Our efficiency evaluation results showed that the manufacturing time was 45.4% shorter, and the manufacturing cost was 46.1% less than the existing method. This indicated that the wedding dress manufacturing process using 3D virtual software was time and cost saving competitive. Our results also confirmed that 3D virtual software technology has the potential to increase the efficiency of designing and production, and therefore an increase in competitiveness and sales of wedding dresses. Furthermore, 3D technology allows consumers to select and order wedding dresses online through 3D virtual software. This is a great advantage, and it highlights the significance of this research study.

As sales of athleisure wear are expected to continue to increase, this study researched and analyzed trends to develop athleisure wear with improved design and functionality. In order to present basic data for designing a research methodology suitable to trends, this study conducted a literature survey related to athleisure wear published in domestic academic journals. The results are as follows. Papers related to athleisure wear have been consistently published since 2016, when athleisure wear began to emerge in Korea. The research methodology itself has not yet been reflected in a variety of ways, and it has only been published at a general level, so there is a need to expand the research methodology. In particular, the lack of material-related research in athleisure wear, where functional materials play the most important role, can also be cited as a problem. Research in the field of clothing composition for movement suitability and functional design is also limited to leggings and should be expanded to various athleisure wear items. However, due to the characteristic of athleisure wear, research papers are published not only in academic journals in the field of clothing, but also in academic journals in the fields of convergence, science, and sports. It is expected that active research on athleisure wear will continue in the future through a multifaceted and convergent approach.
Nowadays more than 200 countries are living on the earth in international relation. Having their own culture and history, these countries constitute international society, creating their national image with their own identity based on the culture and history. Though each country has cultural goods in which it combines its culture and history to economic area, the global and cultural goods representing a country is not made in short term, but completed by the combination of its long tradition, cultural consciousness of the nation and artistic level. That is to say, the image developed by the country is naturally embodied in the goods and the world recognizes the image and confirms the goods. To embody such Korean and global goods, it is essential to put priority on the research of history and culture of our society. Needless to say, it is very important to find the value of our own differentiated beauty and apply it to each area of design industry. Recognizing the differentiated value of our own cultural originality, this research performs the design of scarf and necktie to exhibit Korean image in modern and fashionable ways for commercialization by developing design of fashion and cultural goods to which Korean image is applied. Through literature and various informations, the theme of design that can best convey Korean image is determined to be the national flag of Korea, Taegeukki and five cardinal colors and the researching method is as follows. First, though the area of developing designs of cultural goods is very wide and various including commerce, industry, products , fashion, handicraft and traditional handicraft, etc., this research sets the scope of developing design, focusing on the fashion accessories utilizing the textile design such as costume, scarf, necktie and so on. Second, the definition and scope of cultural goods and the present situation of domestic cultural goods will be examined. Third, the modelling property and symbolic meaning of the national flag of Korea (Taegeultki) and five cardinal colors, the theme of design will be studied. Fourth, on the basis of above research, scarf and necktie will be designed by modern and fashionable design to which Korean image is applied. Fifth, this is textured in textile printing and gradation for commercialization.
These days fashion market is overflown with many brands and their identities are not so clear that the advertisement emphasizing the characteristics of the products don't seem to be adequate in appealing the customers. Therefore it is required that the sensible image advertisement which appeals to the customers by stimulating their feeling and sensitivity to attract customer's interest. At that point, VMD especially of POP advertisement that can be attract direct purchasing plays an important part to build up the accurate image of brand to consumers. Even thought today's individualized consumers take much interested in the fresh and original expressions, the visual expressions of fashion advertisements still focus on using photographs. The most advertisement of photograph has a limit that it shows only an immediate fraction, so it can't present whole image It can deliver more- imaginations and message than photograph if fashion illustration is used in advertisement. Therefore the purpose of this study was to present the application of fashion illustration for the POP advertisement Twelve pieces of fashion illustrations were produced and classified three parts according to their images and expression techniques. Paper sculpture techniques were applied for fashion image expression, for paper is easily meet daily life and ecological materials. For study procedure and contents, the concept and useful functions of fashion illustration and the concept of paper sculpture were examined as a theoretical background, and various uses and techniques of paper sculpture by analysing a number of paper sculpture art works were also studied. Also the concept, roles and functions of POP advertisement were discussed, and then the examples that the fashion illustration applied in the advertisement were analyzed through case study. The theme of my works was jean fashion brand whose brand image is significant, Twelve pieces of fashion illustrations using paper sculpture techniques were produced and various kinds of paper were used in expressing the paper sculpture technique. Each works were cut out the forms and used a pertinent light for making cubic effect shadow when displayed them. In my works Ⅰand Ⅱ, Ⅰ illustrated jeans in two images of sexy and casual, these were created slightly bigger than actual body size in order to attract consumer's gaze at show window or store. In my works Ⅲ, Ⅰ illustrated part or model of a jean product so that it could be used as addition to main display.
In this stage when K-Pop and K-Fashion have been drawing global attention, it is required to activate the Korean culture and fashion by developing fashion products which reinterpret various items in the Hanbok fields with modern sense in connection with Korean wave. Thus, this study aims to develop fashion products related to Korean wave with court dance costumes used in court banquets, which may be the origin of K-Pop, as the main theme, and to converge and expand culture and fashion fields. To this end, the original court dance costumes and their modern forms continuing in these days were analyzed and the costumes for Musanhyang, Yeonhwadae, Cheoyongmu, Chundaeokchok and Chunaengjeon differentiated from existing daily Hanbok were selected. The fashion products related to Korean wave reflecting the specific elements of those five costumes were designed. Then, the silhouette and sizes of those costumes were checked using the CLO, the 3D virtual clothing program and total 5 fashion products were created. In conclusion, the results of this paper will contribute on making Korean design popular on the design aspects, expanding the scope of Korean wave contents on the industrial aspects and globalizing the K-Fashion on the global aspects.

The purposes of this study is to investigate the characteristics of historicism in modern fashion and to introduce the appropriate approaching and application method of costume history. As one of the characteristic of Post modernism, historicism is an important theme in modern fashion. In this study, the background and the characteristic of Post modernism is considered and the historicism in the Post modern architecture and literature is studied. Next, through the artworks of Vivienne Westwood and Christian Lacroix who are excellent in the modernization of historical costume, the historicism in modern fashion is studied. The characteristic of historicism in Post modem architecture and literature comes from the nostalgia, aspiration for the past, and recurrence to the nature. It is not the revival of the past but the crossover of the past and the present. The characteristics of historicism in modern fashion are as follows. ·form; style, silhouette, and items that are shown in the historical costume come with the mixture of modem textile, new technique, and modem design. ·Materials and patterns; classical and romantic patterns, the artwork of the artist, and the fabric which is remake of remains are used. ·Technique; Tailoring techniques and the pattern making of the historical costume are used. ·Trimmings and etc.; Lots of handworks, trimmings and accessaries in that are inspired from the past are used. These elements are not come from a certain place and time but mixed surpassing places and times. With that, not only the form and the position of wearing but the meaning and purpose of wearing are changed.

The costumes as an expression system in film are inserted intentionally for a particular purpose. Costumes in film, namely the cinematic dress code, and that in reality are dissimilar in meaning structure. The costumes in film perform a role of a complicated eye-catcher in correlation with the other filmic factors. But the previous studies on the costumes in film are focused on the keywords 'fashion style', 'fashion trend', or 'PPL (product placement)'. In film studies, however, the costumes should be observed from the point of view as semiosis, not as fashion, in other words, from the angle of symbol, icon and index. And the meaning and the process of the communication, which that produce, should be pointed out. It could expose, that costumes play one of the key roles for the developing of narratives and the creating of characters in film. Therefore, this study's aim is to examine the semiosis of costumes in film and to analyse the dress code, dress plot, and dress message in (1990) by Garry Marshall. But this work does not try to indicate the problems of the film-semiotics or to intensify the concept of the semiotic terminology. Thus, this study attempts to approach the theme of costumes in film from the perspective of the semiosis and its meaning process. With this, it has been proved, that semiotic systems are in hiding beyond the conventional forms of cinematic costumes and its natural harmony with characters.
The purpose of this study is to develop high-valued added socks by utilizing consumer design preference research in design. The study was performed by investigating literatures including previous studies, and researching the recognition and design preference of consumers. As a final step, socks designs were developed to reflect the results of the research. Gender differences have been found in the choice of socks. Women put more importance to the design, color and trend and prefer geometric, animals and plants patterns, and unique images compared to men. In terms of fashion interest level, 'high' group preferred design, color, and trend than 'middle' and 'low' group, and also preferred geometric, abstract patterns. Women's and unisex socks were designed for people in their 20s, the age group with the highest level of interest in fashion, after taking results of the consumer design preference research into account. Main themes for the lady's socks are 'Soft Shape' and 'Line Composition' in order to express delicate, soft sensibility. For the unisex socks, 'Daydreamer' and 'Free Zone' are the themes used to express young energy and the sense of freedom. 12 styles were developed by creating 3 styles per theme using Photoshop CS5 and Illustrator CS5 programs. As a result, it is confirmed that design strategies in segmented market are necessary for the high-valued added products. Also, the understanding of changes in consumer's tastes and needs through regular market research is needed for the competitive socks design planning.
Nowadays, retro to the past fashion is appeared just as often as new challenge and trial. The style of Renaissance Era is the most often revival theme for contemporary fashion. So, this study was focused on 16C of Renaissance costume. It is investigated the characteristics of Renaissance costume through referring the literature to be able to restore the past costume as through as possible with the object of building database for developing new design. This study is done in two different ways at the same time, direct study to restore and indirect study to refer. Direct one is of the past costume as thoroughas possible based on referring to the originals. The other is referring the costume historical literature The costumes to restore is chosen among 16C famous pictures on the basis of how much they can show the typical chracteristics of 16C costume. Materials including textiles and ornaments which are necessarily to restore were shopped in Dongdeamoon Market. Some materials had a problem to get exactly the same one in Seoul on 21C. After visiting imes, the materials is chosen as similar as originals. Three sets of costume were restored on the basis of referring "Pattern of Fashion" written by Janet Arnold. The costumes were restored by reinforcing bodice based on the size of waist and in every three works. The way of sewing is based on hand sewing for details and machin-sewing for seam. Quilting intl lining is uwed giving the fabric stiffness to maintain the form from the heavy padding. Also the part of piles on margins is used darts instead of gather, because of reducing bulkiness of seam. General closing methods are hook and eyes, and lacing with points.
The purpose of this study is to enable a scientific and rational approach for future research agenda setting in the clothing construction field. Through analysis of research papers on clothing construction published in domestic academic journals during the recent decade, the research trend of clothing construction in respective academic journals, research subjects, and research contents were grasped thoroughly. From all domestic academic associations' publication on garment/clothing and textiles/fashion, 7 academic journals were selected as subjects of research, in order to compare and analyze the research trend in the last ten years. The ten-year period ranged from April 2006 to March 2016, and a total of 735 papers published on clothing construction were used for analysis. The number of publications in the clothing construction area during the last decade has decreased, which is due to the increase in the number of clothing and textiles fashion-related academic journals, other than the 7 journals analyzed, and since the number of papers published in international academic journals has also increased. Body type, patterns, fitting test, and functional clothing accounted for the highest proportion of research themes in clothing construction. In terms of body type, there was an increasing tendency towards usage of 3D body measurement. In the patterns area, the 3D virtual dressing system was actively used. For functional clothing, sportswear, protective clothes, and innerwear were most widely researched, and ergonomic design together with smartwear was actively studied.
