  • In this paper, we generalize the concept of deferred density to that of deferred f-density, where f is an unbounded modulus and introduce a new non-matrix convergence method, namely deferred f-statistical convergence or $S^f_{p,q}$-convergence. Apart from studying the $K{\ddot{o}}the$-Toeplitz duals of $S^f_{p,q}$, the space of deferred f-statistically convergent sequences, a decomposition theorem is also established. We also introduce a notion of strongly deferred $Ces{\grave{a}}ro$ summable sequences defined by modulus f and investigate the relationship between deferred f-statistical convergence and strongly deferred $Ces{\grave{a}}ro$ summable sequences defined by f.

  • Summation theorems for hypergeometric series $_2F_1$ and generalized hypergeometric series $_pF_q$ play important roles in themselves and their diverse applications. Some summation theorems for $_2F_1$ and $_pF_q$ have been established in several or many ways. Here we give a proof of Watson's classical summation theorem for the series $_3F_2$(1) by following the same lines used by Rakha [7] except for the last step in which we applied an integral formula introduced by Choi et al. [3].

  • Recently, various kinds of computers with architecture different from the usual type of Neumann and Data flow machine have been studied for inproving computational speed. Among them, Feed Forward Computer(F.F.C.) has been remarkably developed. F.F.C. is a computer different from usual digital one in operating system. The usual computer executes operation and operand Fetch after executing instruction fetch and instruction decode. But conceptually, F.F.C. excutes instruction fetch, instruction decode operand fetch and combinational execution simultaneously. Accordingly, a suitable software is needed to operate high reliability and efficiency of this F.F.C. system. In this study, I aim at developing characteristics on highly reliable computer system which should be a blueprint of F.F.C. system in the future.

  • The mixing of fuel and oxidizer and each mass distribution of unlike split triplet(F-O-O-F) injector for liquid rocket which are known to affect the combustion efficiency significantly, has been investigated using PLLIF technique. Experiment is conducted to investigate the effect of mixture ratio(MiR), momentum ratio(MoR) and impinging angle on mixing efficiency. The mixing efficiency, which is introduced by Rupe, gives the global chracteristic of spray mixing. Experiment far comparison with triplet injector(F-O-F), which has same momentum ratio and impinging angle with split triplet injector is conducted.

  • This review focuses on the clinical use of $^{18}F-FDG$ PET to evaluate solitary pulmonary nodule (SPN) and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). When SPN or mass without calcification is found on chest X-ray or CT, $^{18}F-FDG$ PET is an effective modality to differentiate benign from malignant lesions. For initial staging of NSCLC, $^{18}F-FDG$ PET is useful, and proved to be cost-effective in several countries. $^{18}F-FDG$ is useful for detecting recurrence, restaging and evaluating residual tumor after curative therapy in NSCLC. For therapy response assessment, $^{18}F-FDG$ PET may be effective after chemotherapy or radiation therapy. $^{18}F-FDG$ PET is useful to predict pathological response after neoadjuvant therapy in NSCLC. For radiation therapy planning, $^{18}F-FDG$ PET may be helpful, but requires further investigations. PET/CT is better for evaluating NSCLC than conventional PET.

  • This review focuses on the clinical use of $^{18}F-FDG$ PET in esophageal cancer. For initial staging of esophageal cancer, $^{18}F-FDG$ PET is better than chest CT and is complementary to endoscopic ultrasound. Due to its good results for detecting distant metastasis, $^{18}F-FDG$ PET evades unnecessary curative surgery. Also, PET findings are associated with prognosis in esophageal cancer. $^{18}F-FDG$ PET seems to be useful for detecting recurrence and restaging in esophageal cancer. For therapy response assessment, $^{18}F-FDG$ PET is effective after chemotherapy or radiation therapy. $^{18}F-FDG$ PET is useful to predict pathological response after neoadjuvant therapy in esophageal cancer, which is better than chest CT and endoscopic ultrasound. • We characterize the additive operators preserving rank-additivity on symmetry matrix spaces. Let $S_{n}(F)$ be the space of all $n\;\times\;n$ symmetry matrices over a field F with 2, $3\;\in\;F^{*}$, then T is an additive injective operator preserving rank-additivity on $S_{n}(F)$ if and only if there exists an invertible matrix $U\;\in\;M_n(F)$ and an injective field homomorphism $\phi$ of F to itself such that $T(X)\;=\;cUX{\phi}U^{T},\;\forallX\;=\;(x_{ij)\;\in\;S_n(F)$ where $c\;\in;F^{*},\;X^{\phi}\;=\;(\phi(x_{ij}))$. As applications, we determine the additive operators preserving minus-order on $S_{n}(F)$ over the field F.

  • Using the fixed point method, we prove the Ulam-Hyers stability of the orthogonally additive and orthogonally quadratic functional equation $$f(\frac{x}{2}+y)+f(\frac{x}{2}-y)+f(\frac{x}{2}+z)+f(\frac{x}{2}-z)=\frac{3}{2}f(x)-\frac{1}{2}f(-x)+f(y)+f(-y)+f(z)+f(-z)$$ (0.1) for all $x$, $y$, $z$ with $x{\bot}y$, in orthogonality Banach spaces and in non-Archimedean orthogonality Banach spaces.

  • This paper describes the acoustic characteristics of 8 Korean monophthongs. Two acoustic variables were newly manipulated the distance between Fl and F2 (Δ[F2-Fl]). which might be of help for the judgement of the vowel backness. and Euclidian distance between two vowels. [에] & [애] were observed to be merged in both male vowel space and the female's. respectively. The merger of [우] & [오], on the other hand, was only seen in the female space. In case of Fl, which concerns the vowel height. the scope of the females' was 1.36 times longer than that of the males' Regarding F2, which is related to the vowel backness. the females used a space 1.29 times longer than the males. The observation of Euclidian distance between the basic 3 vowels (이. 아. 우) showed that the females have longer distance than the males: [이-아] 1.25 times, [아-우] 1.45 times, and [이-우] 1.35 times. respectively.

  • Let X, Y be vector spaces. It is shown that if an even mapping $f:X{\rightarrow}Y$ satisfies f(0) = 0 and $$(0.1)\;f(\frac {x+y} 2+z)+f(\frac {x+y} 2-z)+f(\frac {x-y} 2+z)+f(\frac {x-y} 2-z)=f(x)+f(y)+4f(z)$$ for all x, y, z ${\in}$X, then the mapping $f:X{\rightarrow}Y$ is quadratic. Furthermore, we prove the Cauchy-Rassias stability of the functional equation (0.1) in Banach spaces.
