그림동화를 활용한 읽기활동이 시설거주 성인 지적장애인의 수용어휘와 표현어휘에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Reading Activities Using Picture Fairy Tales on Receiving Vocabulary and Expressive Vocabulary of Adults with Intellectual Disabilities Residing in Facilities)

  • 목적: 지적장애인은 수용어휘와 표현어휘의 사용에 취약하다. 본 연구의 목적은 시설거주 성인 지적장애인에게 그림동화를 활용하여 읽기 교육을 지도한 후에 수용어휘와 표현어휘에 미치는 영향을 조사하는 것이었다. 방법: 연구대상은 거주시설에서 거주하는 20~40세미만의성인지적장애인 12명이다. 이들은 중재집단 6명과통제집단 6명으로나누어서 매회기 당 60분씩 총 12회기로 그림동화를 활용한 읽기 지도를 중재하였다. 결과: 그림동화를 활용한 읽기 활동을 시행한 중재집단에서는 수용어휘의 사용이 유의하게 향상되었고, 표현어휘의 활용도 유의하게 향상되었다. 통제집단에서는 모두 유의한 결과가 나타나지 아니했다. 결론: 본 연구는 장애인을 대상으로 그림동화를 활용한 읽기를 지도한 후에는 수용어휘와 표현어휘의 활용이 향상되는 효과가 있었다. 이 결과는 이 분야의 연구에 기초가 되리라 평가한다.

한국어 폐쇄음 발음과 최근의 발음 변이: 발화 형태별 VOT와 f0를 중심으로 (Korean stop pronunciation and current sound change: Focused on VOT and f0 in different pronunciation types)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine how speakers use VOT and f0 to distinguish tense, lax, and aspirated stops in isolated sentence reading and paragraph readings. To do so, a total of 20 males between the ages of 20-25 years old were asked to read (1) isolated sentences, (2) information-oriented text and (3) emotional expressive texts in which the stop pronunciation's VOT value and f0 were measured thereafter. The main results are as follows. In the isolate sentence reading, lax stops, and aspirated stops were distinguished by both VOT and f0, but for the Korean men that read reading texts, VOT is not a cue to distinguish between lax and aspirated stops. In general, the VOT differences between lax stops and aspirated stops were smaller for information-oriented texts and emotional expressive texts than that of the isolate sentence reading. In the paragraph reading that induces a natural utterance, the f0 dependence is greater for the distinction between lax and aspirated stops.

인지적 접근을 이용한 언어중재가 전도성 실어증자의 언어 표현력에 미치는 영향: 사례 연구 (The Effects of Cognitive Language Intervention in a Subject with Conduction Aphasia: Case Study)

  • Language is one aspect of cognition, along with attention and concentration, learning and memory, visuospatial abilities, and executive function. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of language intervention by cognitive approach on language expressive performance in a patient with conduction aphasia. This study used several tasks such as Attention and concentration task, visual memory tasks, memory tasks, categorization, divergent thinking, self-monitoring and evaluate thinking. The effects of treatment were evaluated by periodic probing of both trained and untrained familiar words in three tasks; picture naming, answering to questions and telling stories. The results showed improvements both in trained and untrained words. Therefore, we concluded that expressive language performance of this aphasic patient is amenable to this intervention, and that cognitive therapy approach can be useful.

말 늦은 아동과 일반 아동의 자음 목록 크기에 따른 음운변이성 (Phonological variability with consonant inventory size in late-talkers and normal children)

  • This study aims to compare the differences between 'consonant inventory size' and 'phonological variability' in order to examine the phonological development and characteristics of the late-talkers and typically developing expressive language agematched children and to consider the correlations between them. The study participants included fifteen late-talkers and fifteen typically developing expressive language age-matched children(TED group). The results are as follows. First, as regards consonant inventory size, there was a significant difference between late-talkers and TED group. The late-talkers' consonant inventory size was less than TED group. Second, as regards phonological variability, there was a significant difference between late-talkers and TED group. The late-talkers' phonological variability was higher than TED group. Third, in the case of late-talkers, there was no significant correlation between consonant inventory size and phonological variability; however in the case of TED group, there was a significant negative correlation between consonant inventory size and phonological variability. Therefore, phonological ability should be considered in evaluation and intervention of late-talkers.

  • 은닉 마코프 모델 (hidden Markov Model, HMM) 기반 음성 합성 시스템에서 파라미터 적응을 위해 널리 쓰이는 기법으로 최대 공산 선형 회귀 (maximum likelihood linear regression, MLLR)이 있다. 이전 연구에서 우리는 각 MLLR 파라미터를 인자화된 MLLR (Factored MLLR, FMLLR) 형태로 확장하는 형태를 제안하였다. FMLLR 파라미터를 기존의 EM 알고리즘 형태로 구하는 기법 역시 제안하였고, 이를 통해 보완 정보를 활용하여 적응 학습을 수행할 수 있게 하였다. 본 논문에서는, FMLLR 기법을 스펙트럼 파라미터에 사용하는 것뿐 아니라 피치에도 적용하여 그 성능을 향상시키는 것에 대한 탐구를 수행하였다. 감정 음성을 생성하는 여러 실험을 통해, 우리는 제안하는 기법이 피치 및 스펙트럼에 대해 효과적으로 작용하는 것을 확인하였다.

말늦은 아동의 말소리 발달 종단 연구 (A longitudinal study of phonological development in Korean late-talkers)

  • This study attempts to determine the extent to which late talkers are at the risk of delayed phonological development, in order to identify groups at risk and to find factors affecting delayed phonological development. A group of 1,452 children (51% boys, 49% girls) were recruited from the nationwide Panel Study on Korean Children. The current study collected data from 418 children who were previously identified as late-talkers (LT) at their age of three on average (Time 1: expressive vocabulary test) and three years later (Time 2: phonological test). Their phonological outcomes of the Time 2 were analyzed and then compared to those of a group of 1,056 children with typical language development (NLT: no late-talkers) at the age of three in terms of the number of incorrect consonants, and the speech sound disorders rating scores. LT showed a lower articulation score than NLT, and boys showed a lower score than girls. These findings indicate that the late onset of speech and the gender of young children could be potential risk factors of speech sound disorders.

사회현상 '세월호'를 소재로 하는 만평의 서사구조 분석 -경향신문과 중앙일보 만평의 표현 요소를 중심으로- (Analysis of the Narrative Structure of Satirical Cartoons on the Social Phenomenon of 'Sewolho' -Focused on Expressive Elements of the Satirical Cartoons in The Kyunghyang Shinmun and The Joongang Ilbo-)

  • 만평은 특정한 사회현상을 소재로 함에 있어서 시간 제약을 크게 받는 매체이다. 반면, '세월호' 를 소재로 하는 만평은 1주기까지 경향신문 만평 74작품, 중앙일보 만평 46작품이 게재되었다. 이는 '세월호'를 소재로 하는 만평이 시간 제약을 벗어나 추도되고 정치적 쟁점이 되는 특별한 의미를 지닌 사회현상이기 때문이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 사회현상 '세월호'를 소재로 하는 경향신문과 중앙일보 만평의 표현 요소를 비교 분석하였다. 만평의 그림 요소인 캐릭터 칸 말풍선과 글 요소인 대사 이름 해설의 각 표현 요소가 결합하여 서사구조를 이룬다. 본 연구의 성과는 성향이 다른 두 신문사의 만평을 비교 분석함으로써 만평의 표현 요소를 통한 서사구조를 분석하였다는데 의의가 있다.

문맥적 상황중심의 그림 그리기 과업이 중증의 베르니케 실어증과 브로카 실어증에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of a Context-based Drawing Task on the Language Expression of Severe Wernicke's and Broca's Aphasic Patients)

  • This study attempted to determine the effects of a context-based drawing task on the language expression of a severe Wernicke's and Broca's aphasic. The subjects in this study showed a poor auditory comprehension and naming performance. They also showed paraphasia and perseveration. This study focused on improving language expression by a drawing task based on conversation at hand. Ten target words were chosen which were easily drawnable and familiar to the subjects. The results showed that the context-based drawing task was effective on improving the subjects' confrontation naming ability and expressive language ability in terms of explanation of sentences. In addition, the Broca's aphasic showed improved naming ability when the contextual cues were given and he was supposed to spontaneously name words.

청각장애 아동의 청능발달과 언어발달간의 상관관계 연구 (The Study for Correlation Among Auditory Development and Language Development of Children with Hearing Impairment)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate correlation of auditory development and language development of children with hearing impairment Eighteen subjects with severe or profound hearing loss participated in this study. They were 22-to 55-month-olds who had hearing parents with no additional disabling conditions. The test material was the Meaningful Auditory Integration Scale (MAIS) and MacArthur Communicative Development Inventory-Korea (MCDI-K). A Pearson Correlation Coefficient was determined through a statistical analysis. The results followed as; firstly there was a strong correlation between auditory development and receptive language development. Secondly, there was a strong correlation between receptive language development and expressive language development. Finally, there was a strong correlation between auditory development and education onset time. Therefore, auditory training is important method for auditory rehabilitation and education onset time is important variation for auditory development.

3$\sim$6세 아동의 상위음운능력 발달 연구 (Development of Metaphonological Abilities of Korean Children Aged from 3 to 6)

  • The Korean Metaphonological Assessment, adapted from the Metaphonological Abilities Battery (MAB; Hesketh, 2000b) was administered to examine the development of metaphonological skills of 60 normally developing Korean pre-school children aged from 3 to 6. The tasks were specifically designed to evaluate their skills to detect rhymes, onsets, and segments. A gradual improvement of total scores was observed in children from 3 to 5, with evidence for developmental refinements of metaphonological abilities in the ages of 5 and 6. Subjects were found to develop segmenting skills at a relatively early age and gradually progressed toward detecting onsets and then rhymes. The differences in the order of development from the previous studies with English-speaking children were discussed. This preliminary study also aimed to provide foundational information for investigating the link between expressive phonological impairments, metaphonolgocial skills, and literacy in Korean-speaking children.
