when the explosive wastes to be treated as designated wastes are brought into the wastes treatment plant by mistake and lead to an explosion in the wastes disposal process, many people and property damage are involved. Waste should be treated properly. As mentioned in this paper, ignition reac- tion tests of ignitable re-burning of explosives packing material waste (solid butadiene) confirmed that ignition was easily occurred, and that even small ignition sources were easily ignited and burned quickly and explosively. In particular, when explosives are loaded into incineration wastes in large quantities and mixed with organic compound wastes, such as fire and explosion accidents caused by explosives packing materials at waste disposal sites, flammable and oxidative gases are generated due to mutual oxidation and pyrolysis It is confirmed that there is a possibility that ignition sources such as spark ignite and instantaneously lead to explosion. It is hoped that this study will be a small reference for on - site detection in the field of fire, and it is expected that the fire - fighting agency will be recognized as a fire investigation agency and will contribute to the improvement of the credibility.

Because the water exposed to shock waves caused by an underwater explosion cannot withstand the appreciable tension induced by the change in both pressure and velocity, the surrounding water is cavitated. This cavitating water changes the transferring circumstance of the shock loading. Three phenomena contribute to hull-plate damage; initial shock loading and its interaction with the hull plate, local cavitation, and local cavitation closure then shock reloading. Because the main concern of this paper is local cavitation due to a near-field underwater explosion, the water surface and the waves reflected from the sea bottom were not considered. A set of governing equations for the structure and the fluid were derived. A simple one-dimensional infinite plate problem was considered to verify this uncoupled solution approach compared with the analytic solution, which is well known in this area of interest. The uncoupled solution approach herein would be useful for obtaining a relatively high level of accuracy despite its simplicity and high computational efficiency compared to the conventional coupled method. This paper will help improve the understanding of fluid-structure interaction phenomena and provide a schematic explanation of the practical problem.

The major factors which affect the crankshaft axial vibration are such items as the axial stiffness and mass of crankshaft, the thrust block stiffness, the propeller's entrained water and the exciting and damping forces of engine, propeller and shafting. Among above mentioned items, the axial stiffness and mass of crankshaft, thrust block stiffness and propeller's entrained water were treated in detail in part I, and so in this paper, the rest of above items will be studied. The exciting forces of crankshaft axial vibration are generated mainly from the gas explosion pressure of cylinder, the thrust fluctuation of propeller, and sometimes the torsional vibration of crankshaft induces the crankshaft axial vibration. As for the propeller thrust fluctuation, its harmonic components can be fairly exactly calculated from the experimental results of propeller in the towing tank, but as the calculation process is rather tedious and laborious, the empirical values are ordinarily used. On the other hand, the table of harmonic components of gas pressure has been already published by major slow speed diesel engine makers, but the axial thrust conversion factor of radial force is not unknown yet, and as its estimated value is unreliable, the axial vibration force of gas pressure is uncertain. As the calculation of damping force is very complicated and it includes some uncertain factors, the thoretically estimated amplitudes of axial vibration are much more incorrect in comparison with those of torsional vibrations. Authors have paid special attentions to deriving the theoretical calculation formula of axial conversion factor of radial force and damping force of crankshaft axial vibration and developed a computer program to calculate resonance amplitudes and additional stresses of crankshaft axial vibrations. Also, to check the reliability of the developed computer program, the axial vibrations of three ships' propulsion shaftings were analyzed and their results were compared with those of measured values and makers' results.
It is revealed that these are correlated with the height of chamber deciding the turbulence extent. In the first experiment, It was examined about the effects of different multiple obstacles such as circular, triangular and square things with the rig that the dimension of original experimental rig was $700{\times}700{\times}200mm{\wedge}3$. Then the heights of chamber were increased from 200 to 1000mm. The dimensions of each obstacle were $70{\times}700{\times}{\wedge}2$ and rectangular vent area were $210{\times}700{\times}{\wedge}2$. In the second one, we performed to see the effects of locations of different multiple obstacles in 200, 500 and 800mm height from the bottom. The results are : The multiple triangular obstacles caused the highest overpressure while the lowest one was the multiple circle bars. Then, the triangular bars caused the highest flame acceleration while the circular obstacles was lowest too. The results showed that the critical height was 800mm due to the formation of turbulence. And the lesser $Av/V^{2/3}$ were small, the more pressure and pressure acceleration rate were increased.

This paper describes the design and test of the thermal control and fire safety system for thermal control and the fire/explosion prevention of inside the compartment during the preparation and operation of the space launch vehicle at the launch pad. The system considered here is for the test launch vehicle which is being developed as part of the development of the Korean Space launch vehicle-II. This system applies the high pressure system based on the heritage of Naro launch vehicle. The selection of thermal control and fire safety system from high pressure and low pressure system is done in consideration of the characteristics of the launch pad gas supply system and the characteristics of launch vehicle, and the system configuration is also changed accordingly. As a result, it has been confirmed that the developed system satisfies the initial design conditions through the test. Moreover the system will be applied to the development of the Korean launch vehicle in the future.
Liquefied petroleum gas can be charged up to 85% of cylinder volume by enforcement regulations of safety control and business of liquefied petroleum gas act. The charged mass by enforcement regulations is considered by liquid expansion of internal liquefied petroleum gas at $65^{\circ}C$. But the temperature of liquid would not be suspended under $65^{\circ}C$ in a cylinder or portable vessel at certain situation. In the thermodynamics view point, the cylinder can be exposed to high pressure by liquid expansion. Consequently, it can be possible to potential risk such as physical explosion. Hence, this paper will offer a method of estimated internal pressure by liquid expansion at critical state in the closed system. Also, the structural factor which is given rise to volume increasement of cylinder is offered by experiment. This paper is expected as crucial reference for a cylinder design of liquefied petroleum gas.

Hydrogen is one of the energy carriers and has high energy efficiency relative to mass. It is an eco-friendly fuel that makes only water (H2O) as a by-product after use. In order to use hydrogen conveniently and safely, development of production, storage and transfer technologies is required and attempts are being made to apply hydrogen as an energy source in various fields through the development of the technology. For transporting and storing hydrogen include high-pressure hydrogen gas storage, a type of storage technologies consist of cryogenic hydrogen liquid storage, hydrogen storage alloy, chemical storage by adsorbents and high-pressure hydrogen storage containers have been developed in a total of four stages. The biggest issue in charging high-pressure hydrogen gas which is a combustible gas is safety and the backfire prevention device is that prevents external flames from entering the tank and prevents explosion and is essential to use hydrogen safely. This study conducted a numerical analysis to analyze the performance of suppressing flame propagation of 2, 3 inch flame arrestor. As a result, it is determined that, where the flame arrestor is attached, the temperature would be lowered below the temperature of spontaneous combustion of hydrogen to suppress flame propagation.
Geosynthetic damage has attracted a major attention since the introduction of geotextiles for civil engineering applications. In this study 3 pilot trial embankments were carried out to investigate the behaviours of reinforced embankments over soft cohesive soils and to find the optimum methodology of embankments over soft soils. As the seamed part of polyester mat (PET, tensile strength 15 ton) used in the first full-scale field test was ruptured under progressing rotational slope failure because of unexpectedly rapid construction of embankments, the excessive pore water pressures were measured. On the soil behavior where tension explosion of mat was continued, pore pressure larger than the one caused by embankment height was measured. Especially, at the depth of 5.0 m under the ground pore pressure increased over long term. It was discussed with respect to the height of embankment and heaving behavior of soft soils.

Recently, the utilization of underground space for research facilities and resource development has been on the rise, expanding development from shallow to deep underground. The establishment of deep underground spaces necessitates a thorough examination of rock stability under conditions of elevated stress and temperature. In instances of greater depth, the stability is influenced not only by the geological structure and discontinuity of rock but also by the propagation of ground vibrations resulting from earthquakes and rock blasting during excavation, causing stress changes in the underground cavity and impacting rock stability. In terms of blasting engineering, empirical regression models and numerical analysis methods are used to predict ground vibration through statistical regression analysis based on measured data. In this study, single-hole blasting was conducted, and the pressure of the blast hole and observation hole and ground vibration were measured. Based on the experimental results, the blast pressure blasting vibration at a distance, and the response characteristics of the tunnel floor, side walls, and ceiling were analyzed.

Warships widely spread numerous chaffs using a blast, which form chaff clouds that create false radar cross-sections to deceive enemy radars. In this study, we established a numerical framework based on a one-way coupling of computational fluid dynamics and discrete element method to simulate the spatiotemporal distribution of chaff clouds for warships in the air. Using the framework, we investigated the effects of wind, initial chaff cartridge angle, and blast pressure on the distribution of chaff clouds. We observed three phases for the chaff cloud diffusion: radial diffusion by the explosion, omnidirectional diffusion by turbulence and collision, and gravity-induced diffusion by the difference in the fall speed. The wind moved the average position of the chaff clouds, and the diffusion due to drag force did not occur. The direction of radial diffusion by the explosion depended on the initial angle of the cartridge, and a more vertical angle led to a wider distribution of the chaffs. As the blast pressure increased, the chaff clouds spread out more widely, but the distribution difference in the direction of gravity was not significant.
