The purpose of this paper is to find optimum vent port of the booth for gas explosion experiment. Also, it is to understand the safety of the booth for explosion experiment which is installed to let the trainees for legal education which is managed by IGTT(Institute of gas technology training) blow the riskiness of explosion. Since the booth for gas explosion experiment is a confined space, we used the exhaust model for indoor explosion. As the result, it was safety calculated when the amount of leaking gas was close to the maximum of explosion limit on the explosion experiment.
This study aims to find the safe vent area to prevent a destruction of building by gas explosion in a building. Explosion vessel which used in this experiment is 1/5 scale down model of simple livingroom and its dimension is 100cm in length 60cm in width and 45cm in height. Liquified petroleum gas(LPG) was injected to the vessel to the concentration of 4.5vol%, and injection rate were varied in 1L/min or 4L/min. Gas mixture was ignited by the 10kV electric spark. For analysis the characteristics of vented explosion pressure according to the vent size and vent shape, its size and shape were varied. From the experiment, it was found that explosion pressure in the vented explosion :in affected by the gas injection rate, vent area and vent shape. And the vent area to volume ratio(S/V) to prevent the building destruction by explosion pressure, it is recommended that the design of vent area happened by the explosion should be above 1/500cm in S/V. And if the vent area has complicate structure in same area, vented explosion pressure will be higher than a single vent, and possibility of building destruction will increase. Therefore to effectively vent the explosion pressure for protect a building and residents from the gas explosion hazards, the same vent area should have a singular and constant shape in the cross-sectional area of the vessel.
A steam explosion may occur during a severe accident, when the molten core comes into contact with water. The pressurized water reactor and boiling water reactor ex-vessel steam explosion study, which was carried out with the multicomponent three-dimensional Eulerian fuel-coolant interaction code under the conditions of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Steam Explosion Resolution for Nuclear Applications project reactor exercise, is presented and discussed. In reactor calculations, the largest uncertainties in the prediction of the steam explosion strength are expected to be caused by the large uncertainties related to the jet breakup. To obtain some insight into these uncertainties, premixing simulations were performed with both available jet breakup models, i.e., the global and the local models. The simulations revealed that weaker explosions are predicted by the local model, compared to the global model, due to the predicted smaller melt droplet size, resulting in increased melt solidification and increased void buildup, both reducing the explosion strength. Despite the lower active melt mass predicted for the pressurized water reactor case, pressure loads at the cavity walls are typically higher than that for the boiling water reactor case. This is because of the significantly larger boiling water reactor cavity, where the explosion pressure wave originating from the premixture in the center of the cavity has already been significantly weakened on reaching the distant cavity wall.
In temporal logic model checking, the number of states is exponentially increased by the size of a model. This is called the state explosion problem. Abstraction, partial order, symmetric, etc. are widely used to avoid the problem. They reduce a number of states by exploiting structural information in a model. Instead, this paper proposes the relay model checking that decomposes a temporal formula to be verified into several sub-formulas and then model checking them one by one. As a result, we solve complex games that can't handle with previous techniques.

In order to reasonably predict damage extents of naval ships under in-compartment explosion (INCEX) loads, two conditions should be fulfilled in terms of accurate INCEX load generation and fracture estimation. This paper seeks to predict damage extents of various naval ships by applying the CONWEP model to generate INCEX loads, combined with the Hosford-Coulomb (HC) and localized necking (LN) fracture model. This study selected a naval ship with a 2,000-ton displacement, using associated specifications collected from references. The CONWEP model that is embedded in a commercial finite element analysis software ABAQUS/Explicit was used for INCEX load generation. The combined HC-LN model was used to simulate fracture initiation and propagation. The permanent failures with some structural fractures occurred where at the locations closest to the explosion source points in case of the near field explosions, while, some significant fractures were observed in way of the interfaces between bulkheads and curtain plates under far field explosion. A large thickness difference would lead to those interface failures. It is expected that the findings of this study enhances the vulnerability design of naval ships, enabling more accurate predictions of damage extents under INCEX loads.

In this paper, the structural performance of RC and HPFRCC slabs exposed to a TNT explosion were numerically investigated. A finite element model was established using the MM-ALE method in the LS-DYNA program to simulate a near-ground TNT explosion at a scaled distance of 1.08 m/kg3. The K&C model was calibrated to exactly reflect the material properties of HPFRCCs that were developed in KICT and KNU. Numerical and experimental results were compared for the damage distribution and failure shape of the slabs. Based on the verified numerical model, a parametric study was carried out to demonstrate the effects of compressive strength and thickness of the slab on the blast resistance. In particular, the spallation failure on the back side of the slab is greatly dependent on the thickness. Finally, additional numerical simulations were conducted to explore the variation in blast pressure characteristics according to the scaled distance and explosive shape. It was confirmed that the pressure induced by cubic TNT was more destructive to the slab than cylindrical and spherical TNT in a nearfield explosion.

This paper proposes the stabilization modelling method of receive sensitivity of thick film oscillation circuit for air explosion shell. The proposed method minimizes the errors of the thick film oscillator which uses air explosion shell for military and it is very similar to the simulation for maximizing the efficiency. Firstly, the proposed method gets the equation of new form through statistical analysis from the data which shows always fixed and stabilized output from the real model. Secondly, the simulation is designed which is possible to predict the output, after optimization that is a model to match the each electronic component output by the equation. In a conclusion, the usefulness, the accuracy and the precision are proved as compared with the output data of real model.

Consideration on the explosion resistant design of infrastructure has increased in the recent years. The explosion load is caused by gas explosion or bomb blast. In this study an analytical model is developed, whereby the tunnel structure is divided in several elements that are schematized as single degree of freedom mass-spring-dashpot systems on gas explosion. Using this simple model a sensitivity analysis has been carried out on tunnel structure design parameters such as explosive peak pressure, duration of the load, thickness of structure, burial depth. Finite element method was used to investigate the dynamic response and plastic zone of a tunnel under gas explosion. And it was found from the comparison of the analysis results that there are slight differences in the response of the intermediate wall between the single degree of freedom mass-spring-dashpot model and FEM.
The analysis methods of blast analysis models are classified into direct analysis and indirect analysis, and the latter is divided into semi-empirical and numerical analysis methods. In order to evaluate the applicability of the ELS blast analysis program, which is a program for analyzing the semi-empirical models, this study selected a simplified analytical model and examined the blast load characteristics of free-air burst explosion and surface burst explosion by using AT-Blast, RC-Blast, and Kinney and Graham's empirical equations, which are the semi-empirical analysis programs. As a result of analyzing the explosion pressure for the scaled distance and the incidence angle for the simplified analytical model, an appropriate analysis can be performed when the range of the scaled distance in the free-air burst explosion analysis was 0.3~0.461 and when the range of the scaled distance in the surface burst explosion analysis was 0.378~0.581. In terms of the incidence angle, the results analyzed within $45^{\circ}$ were considered to be appropriate.
The demand of gas as an eco-friendly energy source has being increased. With the demand of gas, the use of gas is also increased, so injury and loss of life by the explosion and fire have been increasing every year. Hence the influence on over-pressure caused by Vapor Cloud Explosion in enclosure of experimental booth was calculated by using the Hopkinson's scaling law and damage effect by the accident to a human body was estimated by applying the probit model. As a result of the damage estimation conducted by using the probit model, both the damage possibility of explosion overpressure to human over 3 meters away and that of overpressure to tympanum rupture over 25 meters away from the explosion shows nothing.
