이 연구는 설명 대상에 따른 학생들의 진화 개념의 특성을 알아보기 위하여 인간, 동물, 식물의 소재에 따른 진화 개념과 연령별 진화 개념의 추이, 진화에 관한 인식의 특성에 대해 조사하였다. 인간, 동물, 식물을 소재로 한 진화 개념 검사지와 진화에 관한 인식 검사지를 개발하여 8개 초 중 고 학교 1,540명에게 투입하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과 학생들의 진화개념이 인간, 동물, 식물에서 다르게 나타났다. 식물은 목적론명이 많았으며 내부 의지와 용불용설이 적었다. 인간은 돌연변이 후 자연 선택이 적었다. 이것은 학생들의 진화 개념에 인간중심적 사고가 영향을 미쳤다고 판단된다. 학생들의 연령이 증가하면서 목적론과 내부 의지가 감소하고 용불용설이 증가하였다. 또한 진화 개념의 다양도 지수가 고등학교로 갈수록 감소한다. 저학년일수록 목적론, 내부 의지, 용불용설을 고루 가지고 있다가 고학년으로 갈수록 용불용설이 가장 많은 비율을 차지한다. 용불용설은 연령이 증가하면서 자연스럽게 획득되는 개념인 것이며, 학생들의 인지에 강하게 고착화되어 있다고 판단된다. 학생들은 진화가 약간의 증거가 있는 과학적 가설로 인식하는 경우가 많았으며 진화에 대한 관심이 부족하였다. 그리고 진화개념이 비형식적 교육매체를 통해 많이 형성되고 있다. 본 연구 결과를 토대로 보았을 때 과학적 진화 개념의 형성을 위해서는 먼저 학생들의 인지구조에서 강하게 자리 잡고 있는 용불용설을 제거해주어야 한다. 이때 사용하는 진화 학습 소재는 인간중심주의적 사고를 극복할 수 있는 소재를 시용하면서, 흥미 있으며 진화 증거에 대한 학생들의 신뢰가 높은 것을 활용해야 한다.

It is now a well established fact that galaxies undergo significant morphological transformation during their lifetimes, manifesting as an evolution along the Hubble sequence from the late to the early Hubble types. The physical processes commonly believed to be responsible for this observed evolution trend, i.e. the major and minor mergers, as well as gas accretion under a barred potential, though demonstrated applicability to selected types of galaxies, on the whole have failed to reproduce the most important statistical and internal properties of galaxies. The secular evolution mechanism reviewed in this paper has the potential to overcome most of the known difficulties of the existing theories to provide a natural and coherent explanation of the properties of present day as well as high-redshift galaxies.

학생들의 개념이 정규 교육 과정에서 배우기 이전의 경험에 의해 선개념이 형성하게 되며 선개념중 오개념들은 과학적 개념을 습득하는 것을 방해한다. 생물학에서 중요한 진화 개념은 특히 오개념이 많은 개념 중 하나이다. 진화에 대한 오개념의 형성 과정에서 TV만화와 아동 과학 도서의 영향이 있을 것으로 판단하여 분석해 보았다. TV 만화의 영향을 확인하기 위하여 TV 만화 속에 등장하는 캐릭터를 활용하여 검사지를 제작하고 초등학생 146명, 중학생 161명, 고등학생 156명에겐 투입하여 분석하고 아동 과학 도서는 16권의 책을 수집하여 진화적 설명이 어떤 형태로 되어 있는지 분석하였다. 연구 결과 아동은 TV 만화 속에서 진화라고 부르는 '성장', '변태' 과정을 진화로 알고 있었다. 그리고 진화의 의미로 '자라면서 변하는 것'의 응답이 매우 높았으며 이는 TV 만화의 영향을 해석된다. 일부 아동 과학 도서에서는 돌연변이, 자연 선택과 같은 개념을 포함시킨 도서도 있었지만 대부분의 아동 과학 도서에서는 진화적 설명으로 목적론적 설명, 내부 의지적 설명, 용불용설적 설명의 형태를 많이 사용하였다. 이는 진화 개념에서 학생들이 많은 오개념을 가지게 된 이유로 TV 만화와 아동 과학 도서 등을 통하여 유입된 잘못된 개념이 원인일 수 있다는 주장을 뒷받침한다. 그리고 TV 만화와 아동 과학 도서에 대한 검정 과정의 필요성을 인식하게 해준다.

This study proposes a new instructional strategy and corresponding materials designed from various alternative frameworks to help students understand evolution as a biologically acceptable theory. Biology teachers have normally taught the evolutionary mechanism by means of comparing Lamarckism with natural selection. In this study, a new instructional strategy in which the Lamarckian explanation is first excluded because Lamarckism is known to be subsumed in a learner's cognitive structure as a strong preconception of evolution is suggested for teaching evolution. After mutation theory is introduced, Darwinism including natural selection is explained separately during the next class hour. Corresponding instructional materials that aid student understanding of the evolutionary mechanism were developed using recently published articles on human genetic traits as scientific evolutionary evidence instead of the traditional evolutionary subject matter, giraffe neck. Evolutionary evidence from human genetic traits allows students to exclude anthropocentric thoughts effectively and raise concern for the phenomenon of evolution positively. The administered instructional strategy and materials in this research improved student conception, concern, and belief of evolution and it is believed that they helped students understand the evolutionary mechanism effectively.

The primary aim of this paper is to analyze the resultative adjunct clause, i.e., (thus/thereby/hence) ~ing participle and provide explicit syntactic, semantic and sociolinguistic explanation on the question what causes the cause-focused causal construction with resultative (thus/thereby/hence) ~ing participle in English. What comes first is either cause or effect clause. This study explores the recent style shift of causal constructions from the effect-focused pattern to the cause-focused pattern. In this study, we argue that the increasing number of the cause-focused main clause with a resultative ~ing participle clause shows the process of the style evolution improving speech/wring style in many respects including syntactic simplification, clarification of the sentence meaning with impact on the focused clauses, and improvement of the flow of speech/writing. The style shift found in the English resultative adjunct clauses, i.e., (thus/hence/thereby) ~ing participle constructions prove to be the style evolution from syntactic, semantic and sociolinguistic point of views.

이 연구는 중학교 '진화' 단원을 디지털 교재로 개발하여 학생들의 진화 개념 형성과 학습에 대한 흥미에 효과가 있는지 알아보고자 하였다. 오랜 시간에 의한 생물의 변화를 설명하는 생물 진화에 대한 설명은, 많은 내용을 다양하게 제공할 수 있고, 영상을 제작하고 편집할 수 있으며, 어려운 개념을 재미있게 제공할 수 있는 디지털 교과서가 서책형 교과서를 통해 이루어질 때 효과적일 수 있다. 연구를 위해 먼저 5E 순환학습 모형을 기반으로 전자책 저작 도구인 iBooks Author를 활용하여, 4차시로 구성된 진화수업을 만들었다. 개발한 디지털 교재의 효과 검증을 위해 서책형 수업과 디지털 교과서를 활용한 수업을 비교했다. 서책형 교재를 통한 수업과 디지털 교재를 활용한 수업 모두 진화 개념 형성에 유의미한 효과를 보였으나 생명 과학 흥미도와 진화 흥미도는 디지털 교재 수업 집단에서만 유의미하게 증가하였다. 또한 학생을 유형별로 나누어 디지털 교과서 효과를 확인한 결과 디지털 리터러시에 따라 스마트 기기에 친숙한 그룹이 수업에 더 적극적이었고 흥미가 높았다. 개발된 디지털 교재의 만족도 역시 디지털 리터러시가 높은 그룹에서 긍정적인 점수를 나타냈다. 이 연구 결과는 진화 영역 디지털 교재 개발은 어려운 진화 개념을 쉽고 재미있게 접근할 수 있는 수업 도구가 될 수 있음을 알려준다.

Marketing practice varies among firms. However, the prescriptive literature emphasises a universal view of practice, a 'one size fits all' view. This paper addresses the issue of explaining diversity in marketing practice in competitive space and in time. Diversity in competitive space reflects the existence of different routes to high performance. Diversity in time reflects some combination of change in the individual firm and change in a population of firms. In the former case, diversity is shaped by organisational change; in the latter by the disbandment and founding of firms in the population. In so far as diversity is the norm, the manner in which practice will be shaped by evolutionary processes is considered. Fnally, the role of the academy as one of the forces driving the evolutionary process is discussed. Miles and Snow's (1978, 1986) work is taken as a main point of departure in the search for explanation and ecological and evolutionary concepts are drawn on for support and to suggest an explanation for the nature of diversity over time.

From 1990s to the present, in China, residential communities has developed rapidly in terms of government policies and living environments. With economic development, dwelling commercialization and socialization gradually reshaped the housing distribution system and local government management in Chinese urban area. After this process, dwellings were endowed with commodity attributes, which were planned and designed depending on residents' requirements of life. During the 30 years of social transformation, Chinese citizens' lifestyle also had huge changes. In this period, the forms of residential area improved constantly to keep pace with social development. This study aims to research the features of contemporary communities and survey citizens' lifestyle changes to find the reasons of the evolution of communities. Moreover, in this paper, there is a clear explanation of the reasons why gated communities are popular in Chinese urban area. In addition, comprehensive data analysis is derived from a questionnaire administered in Shanghai, China. In this part, the questionnaire surveys what factors about lifestyle influence the transformation of living environments and residential buildings. The results of survey show that residents have housing preferences dependent on their lifestyles, and their daily needs related with environmental features.

The remote sensing technique of measuring the magnetic field was applied first to sunspots by Hale (1908). Later Babcock (1961) showed that the solar surface magnetic field on a global scale is a dipole in first-order approximation and that this dipole field reverses once every solar cycle. The Wilcox Solar Observatory (WSO) supplies the spherical harmonics coefficients of the solar corona magnetic field of each Carrington Rotation, calculated based on the remotely-sensed photospheric magnetic field of the solar surface. To infer the internal current system producing the global solar coronal magnetic field structure and evolution of the Sun, we calculate the multipole components of the solar magnetic field using the WSO data from 1976 to 2019. The prominent cycle components over the last 4 solar activity cycles are axis-symmetric fields of the dipole and octupole. This implies that the current inversion driving the solar magnetic field reversal originates from the equatorial region and spreads to the whole globe. Thus, a more accurate solar dynamo model must include an explanation of the origin and evolution of such solar internal current dynamics.

TRIZ, the Russian acronym for Theory of Inventive Problem Solving(TIPS) is introduced in this paper. The core concepts of TRIZ such as levels of inventions, patterns of technological evolution, technical and physical contradictions are explained. It is also discussed that how TRIZ can be applied to quality function deployment in order to overcome negative correlations(i.e., trade-off relationships) between engineering characteristics. Some case examples are presented for the purpose of explanation.
