도시철도차량에 LED 광원의 적용에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Application of LED Light Source in Subway Train)

  • This paper describes the proceeding experimental results to replace the 32 [W] fluorescent lamp installed in subway train to a LED module. We fabricated 25 [W] LED modules to meet the illuminance 300 [lx] specified in the standard for subway train. After the installation of LED modules, comparative analysis with conventional fluorescent lamps was carried out. From the experimental results, illuminances on the height of 0.85 [m] and 1 [m] above floor were 323 [lx] and 360 [lx], respectively. These illuminances satisfied the requirement 300 [lx]. By the application of 25 [W] LED module as a light source in subway train, energy saving about 22 [%] compared with 32 [W] fluorescent is acquired. Also, low cost of maintenance is expected due to 8 times longer lifetime 50,000 hours of LED than that 6,000 hours of fluorescent lamp.

열전소자와 PF Type 진동형 히트파이프를 이용한 냉.난방기에 관한 연구 (The Experimental Study on Cooling-Heating System Using Thermoelectric Module and Parallel Flow Type Oscillating Heat Pipe)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a cooler/heater using a thermoelectric module combined with a parallel flow type oscillating heat pipe with R-142b as a work ing fluid. The experiment was performed for 16 thermoelectric modules (6 A/15 V, size: 40${\times}$40${\times}$4 mm), varying design parameters of the heat pipe (inclination angle, working fluid charging ratio, etc) . Experimental results indicate that the optimum charging ratio and the inclination angle of the parallel flow type oscillating heat pipe were 30% by volume and 30%, respectively. The maximum cooler/heater capacity were 479W (COP : 0.47) and 630W (COP : 0.9), respectively.

승용차 알루미늄 멀티링크 현가장치 코너모듈의 실험적 정강도 특성 평가 (Experimental Static Strength Evaluation of a Passenger Car Aluminium Multi-link Suspension Corner Module)

  • An aluminum suspension corner module is widely used in high class passenger cars to reduce vehicle weight and improve fuel economy. According to the change of material and suspension type, the evaluation of the static strength and failure mode of the corner module is important. In this study, static strength and failure mode analysis of aluminium multi-link suspension corner module is presented. Static strength test system is designed and static failure mode tests of the corner module are carried out in longitudinal, lateral, and vertical direction. From the resuls of the tests we found that the failure modes are different compare to those of the steel corner module. The static failure modes and load-displacement curves of this study will be used as a guidance in design of a passenger car aluminium multi-link suspension corner module.

  • As vehicles are more intelligent for convenience and safety of drivers, the in-vehicle networking systems and smart modules are essential components for intelligent vehicles. However, for the smart module to widely apply to the IVN systems, two problems are considered as follows. Firstly, because it is very difficult that transducer manufacturers developed the smart module that supports the existing all IVN protocols, the smart module must be independent to the type of networking protocols. Secondly, when the smart module is exchanged due to its failure, it is necessary how the transducer is only exchanged without exchange of the microprocessor and network transceiver. This paper deals with the IEEE 1451 based smart module that describes the digital interface between a network transceiver and sensor module. Finally. efficiency of the IEEE 1451 based smart module was evaluated on the experimental model.

Modeling and control of a flexible continuum module actuated by embedded shape memory alloys

  • Continuum manipulators as a kind of mechanical arms are useful tools in special robotic applications. In medical applications, like colonoscopy, a maneuverable thin and flexible manipulator is required. This research is focused on developing a basic module for such an application using shape memory alloys (SMA). In the structure of the module three wires of SMA are uniformly distributed and attached to the circumference of a flexible tube. By activating wires, individually or together, different rotation regimes are provided. SMA model is used based on Brinson work. The SMA model is combined to model of flexible tube to provide a composite model of the module. Simulating the model in Matlab provided a platform to be used to develop controller. Complex and nonlinear behavior of SMA make the control problem hard especially when a few SMA actuators are active simultaneously. In this paper, position control of the two degree of freedom module is under focus. An experimental control strategy is developed to regulate a desired position in the module. The simulation results present a reasonable performance of the controller. Moreover, the results are verified through experiments and show that the continuum module of this paper would be used in real modular manipulators.

  • $CO_2$ 배출 규제와 에너지 소비 절감의 요구가 늘어남에 따라, 버려지는 열을 수확하여 전기를 생산하기 위한 열전발전 연구가 최근 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 폐열 에너지 회수장치로 사용하기 위한 열전모듈의 발전 특성을 분석하였다. Bismuth telluride로 제작된 열전모듈에 다양한 온도 조건을 부여하며 이에 따른 열전 거동을 분석하였다. 또한 다양한 온도 조건에서의 열전모듈의 발전 효율을 실험 및 이론에 의해 분석하였다. 이로 부터, 열전모듈로 열에너지를 보다 효율적으로 회수하기 위한 최적의 작동조건을 제시하였다.

  • 이 연구는 열하중이 발생하는 구조물에 강판 콘크리트구조를 적용하는 경우, 역학적 특성을 평가하기 위하여 수행하였다. 원자력발전소 구조물 중 사용후 핵연료 저장조 구조물과 같이, 구조물 내부는 지속적인 열 하중을 받고 구조물 외부는 대기에 노출되어 있는 경우, 구조물은내 외부의 온도차이로 인해서 열응력이 발생한다. 본 연구는 이러한 구조물에 강판 콘크리트 구조를 적용할 경우를 가정하여 보 형태의 강판 콘크리트 구조실험체에 온도하중을 재하한 상태에서 휨 내력 및 구조특성을 평가하고 추가적으로 실험체가 항복 시까지 하중을 가력하여 최종 휨내력을 평가하였다.

실험적 방법을 이용한 디지털 카메라 경통 줌 모듈의 소음원 규명 및 저소음화 (Experimental Analysis on Barrel Zoom Module of Digital Camera for Noise Source Identification and Noise Reduction)

  • Noise of digital camera has been noticeable to its users. Particularly, noise of a barrel assembly module in zoom in/zoom out operation is recorded while taking a video. Reduction of barrel noise becomes crucial but there are not many studies on noise of digital camera due to its short history of use. In this study, experiment-based analyses are implemented to identify sources of noise and vibration because of complexity and compactness of the barrel system. Output noise is acquired in various operation conditions using synchronization for spectral analysis. Noise sources of a barrel assembly in zoom operating are first identified by the comparison with gear frequency analysis and then correlation analysis between noise and vibration is applied to confirm the generation path of noise. Analysis on noise transfer characteristic of zoom module is also carried out in order to identify the most contributing components. One of possible countermeasures of noise in zoom operating is investigated by an experimental approach.

부궤환을 이용한 광대역 전력증폭기 설계 (The Design of Ultra-broadband Power Amplifier using a Negative Feedback)

  • In this dissertation ultra-broadband power amplifier(UPA) was designed and fabricated using negative feedback technique. UPA was made of pre-amplifier, drive amplifier and power amplifier. Negative feedback technique was used to achieve ultra-broadband performance. Designed power amplifier has 30dB gain and 2W output power. The load-pull data of power amplifier for optimal power matching was extracted from the measured S-parameter. Fabricated PCB material, permittivity is 4.6 and thickness is 0.8mm, is FR4 and UPA was fabricated 3 modules for comparison of the simulated and measured results. Size of the fabricated pre-amplifier and drive amplifier module is 40mm'50mm'16mm. And from the experimental results, gain of the pre-amplifier module is 9.87dB at 2GHz and flatness is 0.63dB. Experimental result of the drive amplifier module is 10.97dB at 2GHz and flatness of that is 0.26dB. Test result of the power amplifier module is 10.71dB at 2GHz and flatness is 0.72dB. Total size of the power amplifier is 45mm'134mm'16mm. According to the test results, gain of the UPA is 28.98dB at 2GHz and flatness is 1.68dB. Output power was 32.098dBm at 2GHz, 32.154dBm at 1GHz and 31.273dBm at 100MHz.

Optimal Design of PV Module with Bypass Diode to Reduce Degradation due to Reverse Excess Current

  • In this paper, we present an economical and practical standard to install a bypass diode in a thin-film PV module. This method helps to reduce heat generation and to prevent module degradation due to excess current from reverse bias. The experimental results confirm that for different numbers of solar cells, there is a relation between the excess reverse current and the degradation of solar cells in a-Si:H modules. The optimal number of solar cells that can be connected per bypass diode could be obtained through an analysis of the results to effectively suppress the degradation and to reduce the heat generated by the module. This technique could be expanded for use in high power crystalline Si PV modules.
