일부 탈지세척 및 도금공정 국소배기장치의 성능점검과 개선방안 (Performance of Local Exhaust Ventilation Systems of Degreasing and Plating Workplaces)

  • In order to evaluate and improve the performance of local exhaust ventilation systems for two TCE degreasing (A, B) and two electroplating (C, E) and one acid dipping & plating (D) operations located in Kimhae, the performance test was conducted with trace gases and a thermal anemometer (Kanomax 24-6111, Japan). For the inadequately designed systems, the improvement and redesigns in compliance with recommendation by ACGIH was suggested. The results of performance test for each system are as follows; 1. System of Workplace A was generally well-designed. Actual exhaust air flow rate was in excess of 68% above the recommended standard exhaust air flow rate. 2. System of Workplace B was very well-designed and completely enclosed. 3. All systems of Workplace C including hoods were poorly-designed and actual exhaust air flow rates were insufficient for open tanks. All systems should be upgraded according to ACGIH recommendations. 4. Supply and exhaust air flow rate of push-pull exhaust systems in Workplace D should be greatly increased. The width of flange of dipping tank hood should be increased with the value suggested. 5. System of Workplace E was well-designed. Actual exhaust air flow rate was in excess of 54% above the required.

과량의 니켈 첨가로 합성된 NiO와 Co3O4가 도핑된 La(CoNi)O3 페로브스 카이트의 알칼리용액에서 산소환원 및 발생반응 특성 (Characterization of NiO and Co3O4-Doped La(CoNi)O3 Perovskite Catalysts Synthesized from Excess Ni for Oxygen Reduction and Evolution Reaction in Alkaline Solution)

  • NiO and Co3O4-doped porous La(CoNi)O3 perovskite oxides were prepared from excess Ni addition by a hydrothermal method using porous silica template, and characterized as bifunctional catalysts for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) and oxygen evolution reaction (OER) for Zn-air rechargeable batteries in alkaline solution. Excess Ni induced to form NiO and Co3O4 in La(CoNi)O3 particles. The NiO and Co3O4-doped porous La(CoNi)O3 showed high specific surface area, up to nine times of conventionally synthesized perovskite oxide, and abundant pore volume with similar structure. Extra added Ni was partially substituted for Co as B site of ABO3 perovskite structure and formed to NiO and Co3O4 which was highly dispersed in particles. Excess Ni in La(CoNi)O3 catalysts increased OER performance (259 mA/㎠ at 2.4 V) in alkaline solution, although the activities (211 mA/㎠ at 0.5 V) for ORR were not changed with the content of excess Ni. La(CoNi)O3 with excess Ni showed very stable cyclability and low capacity fading rate (0.38 & 0.07 ㎶/hour for ORR & OER) until 300 hours (~70 cycles) but more excess content of Ni in La(CoNi)O3 gave negative effect to cyclability.

코안다 노즐을 이용한 배기가스 재순환 버너의 연소 유동 특성 및 NOx 저감에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Combustion Flow Characteristic and NOx Reduction of the Exhaust Gas Recurculation Burner using Coanda Nozzles)

  • 연소로에서 질소산화물을 저감하기 위하여 여러 가지 방법으로 연구가 진행되어 오고 있는데 그 중에 배기가스를 재순환하여 저감하는 방법이 있다. 본 연구는 배기가스를 재순환하는 방법으로 연소로 외부에 코안다 노즐을 이용하여 배기가스를 재순환 유입하는 방법을 사용하였다. 코안다 노즐을 이용하여 배기가스를 재순환하고 혼합가스는 연소로 접선 방향으로 투입하여 선회유동을 유발하는 특징을 가지는 배기가스 재순환 버너이다. 이러한 버너에서 연소로 내의 선회 유동 특성을 살펴보고 온도와 반응속도 분포를 살펴봄으로써 코안다 노즐을 이용한 재순환 버너의 연소 유동 특성을 규명하였다. 과잉공기계수와 코안다 노즐 간격을 변화하여 배기가스 재순환 유입량 특성을 살펴보았으며 과잉공기계수를 증가하면 재순환 유입량비가 증가하였고 코안다 노즐 간격을 증가하면 코안다 노즐 공기 출구에서 속도가 낮아져서 재순환 유입량이 감소한다는 특성을 알았다. 배기가스 출구에서 평균온도는 코안다 노즐 간격 변화에 거의 무관하며 과잉공기계수 증가에 따라 감소하는 것을 알았다. 이러한 특성으로 배기가스 출구에서 NOx 농도는 과잉공기계수 증가에 따라 현저히 감소하고 코안다 노즐 간격에는 상대적으로 영향이 적은 것으로 나타났다.

SI엔진에서 바이오에탄올-가솔린 혼합율 및 공연비 변화에 따른 연소 및 배기배출물 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Combustion and Exhaust Emission Characteristics with the Variations of Mixing and Air-fuel Ratio of Bio-ethanol - Gasoline in a SI Engine)

  • The combustion and exhaust emission characteristics in a spark ignition (SI) engine with various test fuels (bioethanol - gasoline blends) and air-fuel ratio were investigated in this research. To investigate the influence of the excess air ratio and ethanol blends on the combustion characteristics such as the cylinder pressure, rate of heat release (ROHR), and fuel consumption rate were analyzed. In addition, the reduction effects of exhaust emissions such as carbon monoxide (CO), unburned hydrocarbon (HC), and oxides of nitrogen (NOx) were compared with those of neat gasoline fuel under the various excess-air ratios. The results showed that the peak combustion pressures and the ROHR of bioethanol fuel cases were slightly higher than those of gasoline fuel at all test ranges and fuel ratio. As compared with gasoline fuel (G100) at each given excess air ratio, BSFC of bio-ethanol was increased. The CO, HC, NOx emissions of bio-ethanol blends were lower than those of gasoline fuel under overall experimental conditions.

급속퇴적지반의 미압밀상태 평가 (Evaluation of Under-consolidation State in the Rapidly Deposited Ground)

  • 퇴적속도의 변화를 고려한 자중압밀해석과 토질조사시험결과의 비교분석을 통하여 22년 동안 방조제 앞에 두께 5∼12m가 급속히 퇴적된 간석지는 미압밀상태에 있음을 확인하였다. 또한 압밀계수$c_v$=0.0005∼0.001$cm^2$/S인 퇴적층은 평균퇴적속도 $v_s$$\phi$=1∼5cm/yr 이상이면 미압밀상태의 가능성이 높으며, 퇴적속도가 초기에 빠르고 후기에 느린 경우 보다 초기에 느리고 후기에 빠른 경우가 훨씬 큰 잔류 과잉간극수압이 존재한다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 그리고 미압밀상태의 간석지는 압밀침하량이 훨씬 크므로, 최근에 급속히 퇴적된 간석지를 매립하는 경우 미압밀 여부의 평가와 미압밀을 고려한 압밀해석이 필요하다는 결론을 얻었다.

삽입 가스의 부피 팽창을 이용한 탄소나노튜브 진동기 (Carbon Nanotube Oscillator Operated by Thermal Expansion of Encapsulated Gases)

  • We investigated a carbon nanotube (CNT) oscillator controlled by the thermal gas expansion using classical molecular dynamics simulations. When the temperature rapidly increased, the force on the CNT oscillator induced by the thermal gas expansion rapidly increased and pushed out the CNT oscillator. As the CNT oscillator extruded from the outer nanotube, the suction force on the CNT oscillator increased by the excess van der Waals(vdW) energy. When the CNT oscillator reached at the maximum extrusion point, the CNT oscillator was encapsulated into the outer nanotube by the suction force. Therefore, the CNT oscillator could be oscillated by both the gas expansion and the excess vdW interaction. As the temperature increased, the amplitude of the CNT oscillator increased. At the high temperatures, the CNT oscillator escaped from the outer nanotube, because the force on the CNT oscillator due to the thermal gas expansion was higher than the suction force due to the excess vdW energy. By the appropriate temperature controls, such as the maximum temperature, the heating rate, and the cooling rate, the CNT oscillator could be operated.

  • $\beta$-SiC was chemically vapor deposited by pyrolysis of MTS+H2 gas mixture. The experiments were conducted in the temperature range of 1100~150$0^{\circ}C$ with a r.f. induction furnace under atmospheric pressure. The IR, XRD, EDS and AES analysis revealed that the free Si was always codeposited with SiC below 140$0^{\circ}C$, regardless of the total flow rate and MTS concentration, whereas $\beta$-SiC single phase was deposited at 150$0^{\circ}C$. C3H8 or CH2Cl2 as an excess C sources, was supplied with MTS in order to obtain stoichiometric SiC at low temperature. With the addition of C3H8 or CH2Cl2, the deposition rate was increased and $\beta$-SiC single phase could be deposited even at temperature as low as 110$0^{\circ}C$.   • This paper describes a proper criterion for the constant rate of loading consolidation (CRLC) test which is a kind of the continuous loading consolidation(CRLS) and widely used as alternative methods to the incremental loading consolidation(ILC)test. With those results, the preconsolidation pressure estimated by the CRLC test turned out to be comparatively larger than that of the ILC test and it is increased in proportion to the applied loading rates. However, the compression index in the CRLC test is less ifluenced on by the loading rates. The coeffcient of consolidation and permeability in the CRLC test are dependent on excess pore pressure ratio mainly. In other words, if the pore pressure ratios are too low, the coefficient of consolidation and permeability become smaller than those of the ILC test. On the other hand, if the excess pore pressure ratios are too high, the coefficient of consolidation and permeability become so larger than those of the ILC test. Therefore loading rates should be carefully determined to generate proper excess pore pressure ratio.

  • Excess enthalpy flame propagating an porous inert medium, which recirculate exhaust heat to the upstream cold mixture, is theoretically analyzed. Using the activation-energy asymptotics, the flame structure is divided into the thin reaction and the gas-phase preheat zone, as is traditionally done. Ahead and behind of the two, there exist an outer preheat zone, where heat is convectively transferred from solid to gas, and a downstream re-equilibrium zone, where thermal equilibrium between phases is established. Asymptotic solutions of species and energy equations in each zone are obtained and then matched to each other, and finally the mass burning rate is obtained as a function of the flame propagation velocity with respect to the solid phase and physical properties of gas and solid.

수평배수재용 순환골재와 쇄석의 현장시험 (Field Test of Recycled Aggregates and Crushed Stone as Horizontal Drains)

  • In this study, field test on utilization of recycled aggregates and crushed stone as horizontal drains to use an alternative material of sand in soft ground is practiced. The settlement with time showed similarly ranged from 28.4-30.3 cm in the all horizontal materials. The excess pore water pressure of the recycled aggregates and crushed stone showed smaller than sand. The small the excess pore water pressure becomes faster the consolidation period and it can reduces the amount of residual settlement. Therefore, it was verified as having enough to an alternative materials that the field applicability is excellent. The distribution of earth pressure with time showed similarly in the all horizontal materials. The recycled aggregates and crushed stone was very applicable to practice because there is no mat resistance in the horizontal drains layer. The penetration rate in the SCP and PVD improvement sections did not show large differences as the grain size and the horizontal drainage height increases.
