  • This study aimed to develop an experimental animal model of duodenal ulcer for application to nutrition, and to verify the nutritional characteristics. The 7 different doses and 8 different injections of cysteamine and 2 kinds of diets with different casein levels(10%, 20%) were tested to examine the incidence and the process of duodenal ulcer in female Sprague-Dawley rats. The result showed that the duodenal ulcer was induced when rats fed 10% casein diet(for 9 days) were injected 6 times with 13mg/100g BW cysteamine. The first injection was conducted after 24 hours of fasting, followed by the 2nd shot after 3 hours. The following shots were repeated every 3 day(4th and 7th days). Duodenal ulcer was observed 3 days after the last injection by optical microscope and the naked eye. The characteristics of nitrogen bioavailability of duodenal ulcer model were as followings : 1) gastric emptying rate was faster, 2) trypsin activity at duodenum was higher, 3) total protein concentration at serum and nitrogen retention rate were lower than the control. • It is essential to reduce track maintenance costs and to extend the periodic replacements of continuous welded rails based on accumulated passing tonnage. As recently train load decrease and rail joints wear down less, the periodic replacements of continuous welded rails can be extended. There are many kinds of rail damage like squat, head-check and corrugation. These can be taken nondestructive or naked eye test. So the periodic replacements of continuous welded rails based on accumulated passing tonnage were examine with focusing on a crack of rail bottom of continuous welded rail. Therefore, this study measure dynamic response of track by metro train load, it compute impact coefficient and track spring coefficient for estimating a condition of actual track system. Also, it is converted the measured stress waveform into stress frequency histogram by the rain-flow counting methods, and then the equivalence of stress is calculated. As apply s-n curve of a new welded rail, accumulated fatigue damage ratio of laid rail and remaining service lives is estimated. This study suggest a plan of the periodic replacements of continuous welded rails based on accumulated passing tonnage classified by the types of track system.

  • Roofing tiles are very important archaeological artifacts which show science, architecture of that time, as well as information about the culture. It has been studied by many researchers steadily, but only focusing on archaeological, art historical and architectural study, so it is very difficult to find natural science research. Gyeongbokgung's roofing tiles were excavated from the ruins of same site, however glaze, body colour and shape of tiles are very diverse with the naked eye. Through natural science research which analyze the chemical composition and physical characteristics of roofing tiles's body and glaze examine the physical and chemical characteristics of each roofing tiles. the result of analazed roofing tiles is following. when roofing tiles were classified by 전암대자율 and chromaticity, each group has part of some matches. When you compare with green gazed traditional brick's glaze of Silla period, Gyeongbokgung roofing tiles have more $Al_2O_3$ and less PbO than Silla period's. We can see the technology of increasing firing temperature is better. and glaze colour depends on content of $Fe_2O_3$ and CuO. A lot of CuO tend to be more blue.

  • A new colorimetric sensors containing thiourea (1-(4-nitrophenyl)-3-quinolin-6-ylthiourea; 1) and urea(1-(4-nitrophenyl)-3-quinolin-6-ylurea; 2) moieties for fluoride were designed and synthesized. These simple receptors were characterized their stoichiometry, and investigates the mechanism of their selectivity as anion receptors. The addition of tetrabutylammonium fluoride salts to the solution of receptors caused a dramatically and clearly observable color changes from colorless to yellow. To examine their application as anion receptors by UV-vis and $^1H$ NMR spectroscopy results revealed their higher selectivity for fluoride ion than other anions. The receptors and fluoride ion formed a 1:1 stoichiometry complex through strong hydrogen bonding interactions in the first step, followed by a process of deprotonation in presence of an excess of $F^-$ in DMSO solvent.

  • The ultimate goal of this study can be summed up as follows: First, the utility of Time-Lapse that observes and records people's behavior will be shown and its merits and demerits will be discussed through comparing with other data-collecting methods such as the naked- eye observation, and the specific way in which Time-Lapse can be put to use will be suggested. Second, analysis of use behavior boserved in the plaza of Chungryangri station by Time-Lapse will be made, on the basis of which suggestions will be made concerning planing, designing, layout, and management of the station plaza. Time-Lapse can observe and records the plaza of Chungryangri Staton through 6 different ways of recording in Time-Lapse: 30 seconds, every minute, every two minutes, second every five minutes, every one tenth of a second, and every one fifth of a second, and these different ways of recording were analyzed through comparison from one to each other to check their respective utilities. And also analysis of tracks of pedestrians, density, and use behavior of users were made, according to which the way in which Time-Lapse can be utilized was examined. Several useful results obtained from this study are shown as follows. First, Time-Lapse made it possible to continuously observe for a long time using minimu efforts, and a single tape which is able to cover from 12 hours up to 25 days is useful for observing variation of behavior in space with the passage of time and seasons. Second, among six ways of recording, the recording every one tenth of a second and every one fifth of a second are useful for finding the tracks of pedestrians, the number of users, the member compositions, the time spent in one place, and manner of use. And besides the moving direction and its purpose can be recognized in a short time, which makes it possile to see where crossings of moving directions occur. Third, the recording every thirty seconds, every minute, every two minutes, and every five minutes are useful for analyzing the density in space as well as for finding the number of users and frequency of facilities use. In particular the recording every thirty seconds made it possible to keep the track of pedestrians' walking, and to observe even slowly moving motions such as cleaning. But when the recording interval exceeds one minute, this was not possible. Fourth, time-lapse has advantages over the naked eye observation in several respects. Time-lapse can measure observed behavior and density in terms of number, and locate the position of users. Time-Lapse, if accompanied by other methods such as interviewing and question that can examine psychological aspects like satisfaction or the purpose of use and be a useful device for space studies.

  • This study was carried out to examine the acute toxic effects of ammonia to the eel, Anguilla japonica in high temperature and pH levels by histopathological observations. The eels of 40 g average body weight were exposed to 4 different concentrations of total ammonia (0, 10, 20, 30 mg/$\ell$) for 24~120 hours. Each concentration was treated under 4 different levels of pH (7.5, 8.0, 8.5, 9.0) and each of these treatments was tested at 2 different temperatures ($27^{\circ}C$, $32^{\circ}C$). Histopathological changes in gill tissues were observed by hematoxylin-eosin stain. As increasing of pH (from 7.5 to 9.0), water temperature (from $27^{\circ}C$ to $32^{\circ}C$), total ammonia concentration (from 0 mg/$\ell$ to 30 mg/$\ell$) and exposure time (from 24 hours to 120 hours), gill discolorated to dark brown with the naked eye and gill tissues showed hypertrophy of gill lamellae, winding of the secondary gill lamellae, epitherial separation and necrosis histopathologically. When gill lamellae epithelium was separated from the blood vessels, gill discolorated to dark brown with the naked eye.

  • This study was carried out unmanned aerial photography and terrestrial laser scanning to establish digital database on original wall of Gyejoksanseong fortress, and measured ground control points for continuity of the monitoring. It also performed precise examination with the naked eye, unmanned aerial photogrammetry, endoscopy, total station and handy measurement to examine the structural stability of the original walls. The ground control points were considered as a point where visual field can be secured, 3 points were selected around each of the south and north walls. For the right side of the south original wall, aerial photogrammetry was conducted using drones and a deviation analysis of 3-dimensional digital models was performed for short-term monitoring. As a result, the two original walls were almost matched in range within 5mm, and no difference indicating displacement of stones was found, except for partial deviation. Regular monitoring of the areas with structural deformation such as bulging, weak and fracture zone by precisely examining with the naked eye and using high-resolution photo data revealed no distinct change. The inner foundation observed through endoscopy found out that filling stones of the original walls were still remained, while most filling soil was lost. As a result of measuring the total station focusing around the points with structural deformation on the original walls, the maximum displacements of the north and south walls were somewhat high with 6.6mm and 3.8mm, respectively, while the final displacements were relatively stable at below 2.9mm and 1.4mm, respectively. Handy measurement also did not reveal clear structural deformation with displacements below 0.82mm at all points. Even though the results of displacement monitoring on the original walls are stable, it is hard to secure structural stability due to the characteristics of ramparts where sudden brittle fracture occurs. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct conservational scientific diagnosis, precise monitoring, and structural analysis based on the 3-dimensional figuration information obtained in this research.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the fracture strength and characteristics of teeth with MOD cavity preparation. Freshly extracted sound maxillary premolars were cleaned and stored in normal saline solution $37^{\circ}C$ for 72 hours before experiments. The roots of teeth were embedded in a self-curing resin, and the exposed crown were maintained in a vertical position by a modelling wax in a brass ring. The MOD cavities were prepared with No. 57 carbide bur under high speed to a depth of 2.0mm and a width of 2.0mm(Fig.1). All the prepared teeth specimens were divided into 7 groups according to the mode of cavity form and restorative materials (Table 1, 2): Group I, unpreapred, intact teeth as control Group II, prepared cavity without restoration Group III, prepared teeth restored with amalgam Group IV, prepared teeth restored with composite resin (P-10) Group V, prepared teeth with beveled enamel margins restored with composite resin (P-10) Group VI, prepared teeth restored with light-cured composite resin (P-30) Group VII, prepard teeth with beveled enamel margins restored with light-cured composite resin (P-30) After placement of restorations, all of the specimens were stored in water at $37^{\circ}C$ for 72 hours before testing. All of the specimens were tested on the Instron Universal Testing machine (No. 6025) in order to evaluate the strength of fracture. One metal ball 5.0mm in diameter contacting the specimens parallel to the occlusal surface was used to in this study (Fig. 1). The fracture characteristics of the specimens were examined with naked eye and in the scanning electron microscope (JSM-20). The results obtained from this study were as follows: 1. The mean fracture strength was the highest in group VI and that in group II was the lowest. 2. The progress of crack of teeth propagated into the pulp cavity. 3. In case of the group of the restored teeth, the crack occurred to be accompanied with cuspal fracture. 4. The crack of restored teeth was initiated along the pulpo-axial line angle of the cavity.

  • This paper presents the results of a comprehensive nondestructive analysis of Portrait of Master Gowun at Wunamyeongdang Shrine (Hereafter, Portrait of Choe Chiwon), Tangible Cultural Heritage No. 187 of Gyeongsangnam-do, including the underlying images drawn at the time of its production and the pigments present. The analysis revealed that the portrait was produced in 1793 at Ssanggyesa Temple in Hadong, Gyeongsangnam-do, which makes it the earliest known example among the extant portraits of Choe Chiwon. X-ray examination found images of a half-length boy monk and a full-length boy monk on either side of the portrait, which had been painted over and became invisible to the naked eye. XRF analysis of the pigments indicated that white lead was used for white, cinnabar and red lead for red, malachite for green, azurite for blue, and gold for gold. It was revealed that the overpainted boy monks were colored using the same pigments as those applied in the portrait of the main figure. It is hoped that the analysis of the pigments used for the boy monks can provide basic materials for research on the production of copied portraits and local Buddhist paintings. Also, additional research drawing upon other fields of study is required to examine the details of the inscription of the portrait.

  • The Geumganasa Temple site two Ridege-end tiles at the Buyeo National Museum(The Buyeo2150-1 and 2150-2, hereinafter referred to as 2150-1 and 2150-2) were excavated the Geumgangsa Temple site. They provide important materials for investigating the shapes and production techniques of the ridge-end tiles of the time since their lower portions remain relatively intact. This study is intended to examine whether the two ridge-end tiles were identical. Conservation treatment, including removal of foreign substances, was conducted in preparation for observation with the naked eye to compare the formal features and production techniques of the two examples. The study revealed that these ridge-end tiles shared formal features such as surface color, clay composition, shape, size, and decoration; however, they differed in terms of production technique. The 2150-1 tile was made by assembling a separately-made body and wing and has no hole through the back, while the 2150-2 tile had its body and wing made as a single unit using long clay plates and features circular holes in the back. It was revealed that one portion of the body of both tiles was intentionally tilted during the production process.
