By taking a bottom-up "library in the life of the user" perspective rather than a top-down "user in the life of the library" perspective, this paper uses anecdotal evidence from the past and near present to examine the multiple roles the U.S. public library plays and has played as public space in the everyday lives of its patrons. By harnessing "public sphere" theory discussed in Jurgen Habermas's THE STRUCTURAL TRANSFORMATION OF THE PUBLIC SPHERE (1989) and by the examining the rich literatures on civic life and institutions that have evolved from it, the author argues that Library and Information Studies discourse has to expand its scope to include research and analysis of "library as place" from a user's perspective if it hopes to develop a deeper understanding of what the public library does for means to members of the communities in which they reside.

For effective conceptual teaching (or teaming) of physics, it needs to know more information about students＇ ideas related to specific topics. The purpose of this study was to investigate 6th grade students＇ various ideas about the actions of force, especially＇ the situation where force is being acted＇, and＇ the situation where force is not being acted＇, through the analysis of their ＇Typically-Perceived-Situation (TPS)＇. The TPSs of 152 6th grade students were collected with a drawing-and-explanation type questionnaire, and their TPSs about the action of force were categorized by the background, the subject, the object, the action, and the result of action, etc. It was found that most of students＇ ideas about ＇force is being acted＇ were related to the situation where the impact by or on human body caused to the change of position in familiar everyday life scene. Thus their ideas were strong related to human body, including sensual factors such as ＇pain＇. And it also was found that most of students＇ ideas about ＇force is not being acted＇ were in a strong relation to familiar everyday life situations there is no change of position because force was not given by a human body, or energy was not supplied. Most students thought that force is similar to energy which should be supplied from outside or generated by itself. These results suggest that the teaching strategies focused on familiar everyday life background including sensual factors and human body need to be explored in conceptual loaming of physics.

Reading and writing in the past make noble significance in 'narration', in other words, in 'the creation of narration', through the process of 'recording'; but in the modern times, it engenders controversies over narration and linearity. In other words, reading/writing in digital era, is devalued as the simple arrangement of test or the connection of vast information without narration nor linearity. However, the reading/writing through text and hypertext reading is not the phenomenon which should be criticized because of the lack of narration or linearity-not only the lack of narration and linearity -, a process of social and cultural transition; it should be revalued as a result. The change of reading and writing methods will inevitably accompany the layers, status, significance and value of the contents; thus it makes more sense, when the reading and writing methods in digital contents are approached as new pop culture phenomenon. This is the "The prose of everyday life", based on pop culture and "The society of Conversation", based on communication; proposed 'Digitelling' ; this is the reason why we should pay attention to the digital contents, created infinitely by the citizens of the world, as new mass-culture phenomenon.

The researches on the system that automatically records and retrieves one's everyday life is relatively actively worked recently. These systems, called personal memex or life log, usually entail dedicated devices such as SenseCam in MyLifeBits project. This research paid attention to the digital devices such as mobile phones, credit cards, and digital camera that people use everyday. The system enables a person to store everyday life systematically that are saved in the devices or the deviced-related web pages (e.g., phone records in the cellular phone company) and to refer this quickly later. The data collection agent in the proposed system, called MyMemex, collects the personal life log "web data" using the web services that the web sites provide and stores the web data into the server. The "file data" stored in the off-line digital devices are also loaded into the server. Each of the file data or web data is viewed as a memex event that can be described by 4W1H form. The different types of data in different services are transformed into the memex event data in 4W1H form. The memex event ontology is used in this transform. Users can sign in to the web server of this service to view their life logs in the chronological manner. Users can also search the life logs using keywords. Moreover, the life logs can be viewed as a diary or story style by converting the memex events to sentences. The related memex events are grouped to be displayed as an "episode" by a heuristic identification method. A result with high accuracy has been obtained by the experiment for the episode identification using the real life log data of one of the authors.

On Kawara's works are not only artworks but are also his personal daily records. He produced many artworks whose theme centered on his everyday life, a plan that he had precisely made. He selected several specific themes from his daily life: when and where he met someone, what he read, and where he traveled. Kawara constantly recorded his daily life using various types of unconventional medium: maps, postcards, and telegrams. Although he was occupied with recording his everyday life, he was also active in forming public opinions on various issues through social media. Kawara's works, which exhibit a distinctive characteristic of himself, could be classified as individual records because it includes an individual's daily life and selected issues. His artworks express concern for or expose the irrationality of his society, which encourages ordinary people to let their voices be heard and take part in public affairs. Thus, his works function not just as art but also as precious historical records.

The purpose of this study was to examine the paternal involvement tendency and its effect on adolescent's self-esteem for boys and girls. Subjects were 607 1st and 2nd grade middle school students in Busan. The data were analyzed by t-test, one-way Anova, Pearson's correlation, and multiple regression analysis. The results were as follows. The scores on paternal involvement were influenced by the amount of time spent with parents, 5days work a week of father, flexibility of leaving work-time of mother, regularity of holiday work of mother as well as adolescents' and fathers' sociodemographic characteristic. For boys, self-esteem was influenced by all sub-scales of paternal involvement : the leisure-life, proffering information, academic support, eveηday life, material support, discipline, and tradition-inheritance. For girls, self-esteem was influenced by leisure-life, proffering information, academic support, everyday life, and material supports.

To improve usability and recognition of product, the term, Affordance, started to be known in the design world by US recognitive psychologist, Donald A. Norman, has the meaning of providing, Act inducement, Act motivation, Expectancy or what environment provides, etc., thus as one of Mental Model, providing ever more importance not only to the everyday life goods but to the time like these days when products for information overflow. Particularly, this study is oriented toward providing basic study framework on Affordance-like approach in pursuing psychological approach in design for changing the limitless phenomena involved in environment and human body and further for inquiring into source of idea from abstract form hint latent in act and further from the act conducted everyday while peoples are unconscious.

Trench coat derived from military uniforms was one of the classical fashion items and has been endeared as everyday outfits thanks to useful traits. Since 1990s classical design of trench coat began to be modified and many variant styles were appeared after 2000s. Trench coat designs after 2000s were appeared as tradition type that was stick to basic British classic style, variation type that was changed in details, colors, materials, and silhouettes, evolution type that was changed into new items, deconstruction type that was dissolved and open-structured. Modern trench coat expressed modern chic, elegance feminine, stylish casual, military and gangster images. The characteristics of trench coat as classic fashion were utility for everyday life style, excellent ability to express images, and strong visual effects of characteristic details. Trench coat was timeless as classic fashion, at the same time, changed into new fashion styles suitable for the sense of the times.

The preliminary Korean Paternal Involvement Scale of 84 items was constructed from items collected from free-response surveys with 106 middle school students and 33 fathers followed by consultation with experts. Those items were tested on a sample of 339 middle school students. The 82 items selected through item analysis were analyzed by factor analysis. Of these, 54 items were categorized into seven factors : leisure-life, proffering information, discipline, academic support, tradition-inheritance, material support, and everyday life. Leisure-life, proffering information, and academic support correlated with grade level of adolescents and fathers' education. The alpha coefficients of this scale ranged from .68 to .90.

This paper starts with the assumption that in order for the popularization of hanbok leading to greater interest among the public for Hanbok and its uses in everyday life, the period for Hanbok events each year must be solidified, making it a standardized provide opportunities for participation regardless of demographic. Globalization of Hanbok most occur through a combination of related academic fields, division of roles in fields of expertise, and a scientific understanding of Hanbok. Thus various Hanbok-related programs such as contests, fashion shows, experience centers and exhibitions should be provided in one unified setting. Government sponsored Hanbok cultural events have generally been aimed at foreigners or foreign human residency, while events in Korea hae generally been carried out by a more diverse rage of groups, making it difficult for the general population to obtain information or participate actively. In order for hanbok to maintain its tradition as the national costume of Korea, Long-term develop plans must be set. Along with popularization in order to bring hanbok into everyday life, methods for the globalization of hanbok must be explored, providing opportunities to spotlight the diversity and characteristics of Korean costumes, in various events which promote participation, festival-forming and globalization of hanbok culture considering elements such as time (yearly, monthly etc.) and audience (age group, social level etc.).
