신체활동사업에서의 보건교육사의 역할과 능력 개발 (Role and Competencies for Health Education Specialist in Physical Activity Programs)

  • Objectives: Physical activity provides economic benefits and contributes in improving health and quality of life. Opportunities for physical activity continue to decrease with the increasing prevalence of sedentary lifestyles. In various settings, there have been many efforts to enhance physical activity to prevent chronic disease for people of all ages. This study was performed to define competencies of physical activity specialists in health promotion and compare with those of health education specialists. Methods: The study employed official data and manuals of health promotion programs that have been published and uploaded on public websites. Results: Competencies for physical activity in health promotion included needs assessment, analysis of data and scientific information, planning and evaluation, developing strategies and materials, management, building healthy environment, research. To compare with the competency of health education specialists, competencies of physical activity were almost similar to that except the developing individual-based physical activity program in exercise science. Conclusions: Physical activity programs for health promotion should be planned and implemented throughout various health topics and in coordination with multiple sectors. To increase efficiency of the utilization of human resources in health promotion, health education specialists needs to participate in physical activity programs and would require empowerment in exercise science.

Robust Real-time Detection of Abandoned Objects using a Dual Background Model

  • Detection of abandoned objects for smart video surveillance should be robust and accurate in various situations with low computational costs. This paper presents a new algorithm for abandoned object detection based on the dual background model. Through the template registration of a candidate stationary object and presence authentication methods presented in this paper, we can handle some complex cases such as occlusions, illumination changes, long-term abandonment, and owner's re-attendance as well as general detection of abandoned objects. The proposed algorithm also analyzes video frames at specific intervals rather than consecutive video frames to reduce the computational overhead. For performance evaluation, we experimented with the algorithm using the well-known PETS2006, ABODA datasets, and our video dataset in a live streaming environment, which shows that the proposed algorithm works well in various situations.

  • Preschoolers are the most effective age to start fire safety education. But, if the education contents are inappropriate, they may form the wrong habit to preschoolers. Many educational contents of fire safety in Korea are not so obvious in the principle and order of priority about what to do during fire and they often contain unnecessary contents to preschoolers such as how to use fire extinguisher. This paper has analyzed fire safety awareness of preschoolers and teachers and, based on the results, has claimed unsuitability of training on how to use fire extinguisher and has suggested the improvement of fire safety education.

대학도서관 사서직원의 동기유발에 관한 조사연구 (A study on the motivation level of the university librarians in korea)

  • This study is to identified the motivation level which university librarians in Korea perceived as motivating them, and to examine relationship between those motivation level and the demographic characteristics of university librarians. The results of this study are summarized as follows : (1) The factors that the motivation level is higher than the average (3.000) are shown to be human relation (3.399), working itself (3.198), and supervision (3.050), but the other factors : recognition (2.995), communication (2.985), salary (2.892), job evaluation (2.622), job environment (2.619), and promotion (2.126) are shown to be lower than the average. (2) In the results of X$^{2}$ test about the differences of the motivation level among 6 demographic attributes of the population, the attributes shown a significant difference are as follows : Salary : rank ; working terms ; sex ; national university or private one ; qualification. Promotion : rank ; sex ; national university or private one ; qualification. Recognition : rank. Human relation : no significant differences among 6 attributes. Work itself : rank ; sex. Communication : rank ; working terms ; sex ; education background ; qualification. Job evaluation : sex ; education background ; qualification. Job environment : sex ; national university or private one. Supervision : rank ; working terms ; sex ; education background ; qualification.

구성주의 특성에 따른 과학교육 (Science Education Based on Constructivist Perspectives)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 구성주의의 특성과 그것을 적용한 방법에 관한 문헌을 조사 분석하고, 이에 따른 과학교육의 여러 측면 또는 우리나라 과학교육이 나아갈 방향의 시사점을 모색하는데 있다. 먼저, 구성주의의 특성에 대하여 그 의미와 주장, 이론적 배경과 종류, 그에 관한 비판으로 나누어 기술하였으며, 그 다음 과학교육의 측면 또는 나아갈 방향은 목적, 과학 학습이론과 모형, 과학 교수학습 방법, 과학 교육과정과 평가로 나누어 논의하였다. 과학철학으로서의 구성주의에 따르면, 과학과 그 지식은 사회적 특성을 지니며 그 성과에는 반드시 가치관이나 집단 이익이 관련되어 있다. 그러므로 과학교육의 궁극적인 목적은 의사결정력의 함양에 두어야 하며, 이런 목적을 달성할 수 있는 교육과정은 학습경험과 주제가 통합된 과제 중심으로 개발하는 것이 바람직하다. 심리학으로서의 구성주의에 따르면, 학습이 이루어지는 과정은 사회적 과정이다. 이런 학습의 전략으로는 협동학습과 역할놀이가 효과적이다. 또한 구성주의에 따른 과학교육 평가에서는 수행평가를 강조한다.

영재학교의 수학 중심 융합 교육과정 평가 사례 연구 (A Case Study Evaluating Math-Oriented Convergent Curriculums in Schools for the Gifted)

  • There is currently a growing need to nurture creative and convergent talent in the face of the fourth Industrial Revolution. Developing such talent requires interdisciplinary convergent education across the science, engineering, humanities, social studies, and arts disciplines. Such interdisciplinary convergence could cultivate humanities and social knowledge and qualities along with scientific expertise. In Korea, there are currently six science schools for the gifted that aim to discover and nurture science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) researchers from an early stage, and two science and art schools for the gifted that aim to cultivate new talent combining students' scientific and artistic qualities. These schools establish and follow curriculums that are suited to achieving the education objectives guaranteed by the Gifted Education Promotion Act and its Enforcement Decrees. This study compares the curriculums and curriculum tables of the science schools for the gifted to those of the science and art schools for the gifted to evaluate their methods of operation and performance. Additionally, it determines which curriculums provide an opportunity for students to nurture convergent thinking, and discusses how suitable curriculums could be implemented to develop convergent thinking.

코딩블록을 활용한 초등 과학영재 대상 피지컬 컴퓨팅수업의 교수·학습 과정 분석 (Analysis of Teaching and Learning Process in Physical Computing Class for Elementary Gifted Students in Science)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 초등 과학영재 학생들을 대상으로 코딩블록(MODI)을 활용한 피지컬 컴퓨팅 교수 학습을 진행하고 그 결과를 분석함으로써 영재 학생들의 컴퓨팅 사고력을 신장시킬 수 있는 교수 학습 방법에 대한 시사점을 얻는 데 있다. 이 연구를 위하여 국제 교육성취도 평가 협회(IEA)에서 개발한 컴퓨터 정보 소양 평가 기준으로부터 MODI를 활용한 수업의 학습목표를 설정하였고, 학습목표에 따라 MODI를 활용한 피지컬 컴퓨팅 교수 학습 프로그램을 개발하였다. 또한 연구 개발한 프로그램은 전문가를 대상으로 타당도를 확인하였다. 개발된 프로그램을 이용하여 S교육대학교 초등 과학영재교육원 4~6학년 15명을 대상으로 코딩블록(MODI)을 활용한 피지컬 컴퓨팅 수업을 32차시 실시하였으며, 교수 학습 과정을 담은 수업 동영상 및 수업관찰 일지, 교사와 학생 설문지 및 면담 등의 자료를 수집하여 질적으로 분석하였다. 연구 결과를 근거로 학교교육 현장에서 코딩블록(MODI)을 활용한 피지컬 컴퓨팅 교수 학습과정에 대한 시사점을 제시하였으며, 창의적인 아이디어를 구현하는 코딩 교육을 통하여 컴퓨팅 사고력의 확장을 모색하였다.

과학교육 분야 자연어 처리 기법의 연구동향 분석 (An Analysis of Trends in Natural Language Processing Research in the Field of Science Education)

  • 본 연구는 2011년부터 2023년 9월까지 과학교육 분야에서 자연어 처리(NLP) 기법을 적용한 37건의 국내 및 해외 문헌을 분석하여 과학교육에서의 NLP 관련 연구 동향을 파악하고자 하였다. 특히 과학교육에서 NLP 기법의 주요 응용 분야, NLP 기법을 활용할 때 교사의 역할, 국내와 해외의 비교 측면에서 그 내용을 체계적으로 분석하였다. 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, NLP 기법이 과학교육에서 형성평가, 자동 채점, 문헌 검토 및 분류, 패턴 추출에 중요하게 활용되고 있음을 확인하였다. 형성평가에서 NLP를 활용하면 학생들의 학습과정과 이해도를 실시간으로 분석할 수 있다. 이는 교사의 수업에 대한 부담을 줄이고, 학생들에게 정확하고 효과적인 피드백을 제공할 수 있다. 자동 채점에서는 학생들의 응답을 빠르고 정확하게 평가하는 데 기여한다. 문헌 검토 및 분류에서는 과학교육 관련 연구나 학생들의 보고서를 분석하여 주제와 트렌드를 효과적으로 분석하고, 미래 연구 방향을 설정하는 데 도움을 준다. NLP 기법을 패턴 추출에 활용하면 학생들의 생각과 반응에 나타난 공통점이나 패턴을 찾아 효과적으로 분석할 수 있다. 둘째, 과학교육에서 NLP 기법의 도입은 교사의 역할을 지식 전달자에서 학생들의 학습을 지원하고 촉진하는 지도자로 확장했고, 교사들에게 지속적인 전문성 개발을 요구한다. 셋째, 국내에서는 문헌 검토 및 분류에 집중되어 있어 국내 NLP 연구의 다양성을 위해 텍스트 데이터 수집이 용이한 환경 조성이 필요하다. 이러한 분석 결과를 바탕으로 과학교육에서 NLP 기법의 활용하는 방법에 대해 논의하였다.

가치기반 아동금융교육 프로그램 개발 및 효과평가: 초등학교 1~3학년 아동의 개인재무관리 영역별 가치를 중심으로 (The Development of Value-Based Children's Financial Education Program and Evaluation of Effect : Focusing on the values of each area of personal finance of 1st to 3rd grade elementary school students)

  • In this study, a value-based children's financial education program was developed focusing on the values of each financial management area needed for children. According to 'quasi-experimental design - non-equivalent control group design', an experimental group and a control group were formed for children in the lower grades of elementary school, and a value-based child financial education program was executed, and then the program was applied to children's personal financial management. The effect on the value propensity for each area was evaluated. As a result of the quantitative evaluation, it was confirmed that the 8 values of the children in the experimental group were significantly improved compared to the children of the control group, so this program was effective in enhancing the values of each of the 8 areas of personal financial management needed for children. In addition, the children in the experimental group showed significant improvement compared to the children in the control group in the cognitive, justice, and psychodynamic levels of values. It has also been found to be effective in enhancing as a result of the qualitative evaluation, various positive changes were found in the cognitive, affective, and psycho-dynamic dimensions about the values of each financial management area for children. From a positive perspective, it was found that it plays a useful role in cultivating the values of each area of positive personal financial management.

New Approaches to Quality Monitoring of Higher Education in the Process of Distance Learning

  • The article identifies the problem of monitoring the quality of higher education in three main areas, which are comparative pedagogical systems of education. The first direction is determined by dissertation works, the second - monographs and textbooks, and the third reveals scientific periodicals. According to its internal structure, monitoring the quality of education combines important management components identified in the article (analysis, evaluation and forecasting of processes in education; a set of methods for tracking processes in education; collecting and processing information to prepare recommendations for research processes and make necessary adjustments). Depending on the objectives, three areas of monitoring are identified: informational (involves the accumulation, structuring and dissemination of information), basic (aimed at identifying new problems and threats before they are realized at the management level), problematic (clarification of patterns, processes, hazards, those problems that are known and significant from the point of view of management). According to its internal structure, monitoring the quality of education combines the following important management components: analysis, evaluation and forecasting of processes in education; a set of techniques for tracking processes in education; collection and processing of information in order to prepare recommendations for the development of the studied processes and make the necessary adjustments. One of the priorities of the higher education modernization program during the COVID-19 pandemic is distance learning, which is possible due to the existence of information and educational technologies and communication systems, especially for effective education and its monitoring in higher education. The conditions under which the effectiveness of pedagogical support of monitoring activities in the process of distance learning is achieved are highlighted. According to the results of the survey, the problems faced by higher education seekers are revealed. A survey of students was conducted, which had a certain level of subjectivity in personal assessments, but the sample was quite representative.
