Mathematics Education as a Humanities Form of Education-A Brief Introduction to the History of the Philosophy of Mathematics Education

  • Mathematics holds a key position among many subjects of school education. Besides having an instrumental value, mathematics for the general public has been underestimated. Thus, in this paper we examine how western educational theorists have emphasized the value of mathematics as humanities form of education. First of all, we discuss Platonism as a philosophical basis of the ancient Greek mathematics education. Next, we examine the thoughts of Froebel, who provided the theoretical basis for the public education since 19th century, and discuss the value of mathematics teaching in their humanistic educational thoughts. Also, we examine the humanistic value of mathematics education in Dewey\\`s educational philosophy, which criticized the traditional western ethics and epistemology, and established instrumentalism. In this paper, we recognize the humanistic values of mathematics education through the historical examination of the philosophies of mathematics education.

간호사의 윤리적 딜레마 (Ethical Dilemma of Nurses)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to explore the lived experience of ethical dilemma of nurses and to describe the structure of the meaning of their experience for nurses. Method: The participants in this study were seven nurses with 3years and more careers who worked at general hospital and university hospital in T, P, K city. The data were collected from May, 2004 to September, 2004 through in-depth interviews untill saturated. The data were analyzed by phenomenological method suggested Giorgi. Results: Five main meanings were identified: Role limitation, Difficulty of decision, Self defensive position, Difficulty of interpersonal relation, A custom of unable expose. Conclusions: Based on the results of this study, there is need to study for identify the ethical dilemma of nurses from the viewpoint of korea, and development of nursing ethics guidebook to guide ethical dilemma situation in nursing field.

간호대학생의 간호윤리 가치관 (Nursing Ethics Values of Nursing Students)

  • 본 연구는 간호학생의 윤리적 가치관에 의무론과 공리주의가 윤리적 가치관 확립에 미치는 영향을 파악하여 기초자료를 제공하기 위하여 시행되었다. 자료 수집은 2018년 5월 14일부터 6월1일까지 D지역에 소재한 일개 대학교 간호학과 학생 180명을 대상에게 연구를 설명 후 동의한 학생을 대상으로 하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 21.0 program을 이용하여 일반적 특성은 기술통계를 사용하여 실수와 백분율로 나타내고, 대상자의 인구학적 특성과 간호 관련 특성에 따른 차이를 확인하기 위하여 independent t-test, ANOVA 로 분석하고 사후검정은 $Sch{\acute{e}}ffe$ 사후 검정을 실시하였다. 간호학생의 윤리적 가치관은 150점 만점에 $97.51{\pm}8.96$점 인 것으로 나타나 의무론의 입장에 기울어져 있는 것으로 나타났다. 1학년 학생들은 의무론적 입장이 더 우세했으며 학년이 높아질수록 공리주의 입장으로 더 기울어지는 것으로 나타났다. 결과를 토대로 임상현장에서 있을 여러 가지 간호딜레마 상황에 놓였을 때, 철학적인 사고를 통한 따라 윤리적 의사결정을 할 수 있도록 윤리적 가치관 확립에 교육 개발이 필요하다.

정보비대칭 수준에 따른 정보공유의 윤리적 딜레마와 비윤리적 행동에 관한 연구 (An Ethical Dilemma and Unethical Behavior of Information Sharing by Information Asymmetry Level)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 조직 구성원들의 정보비대칭 수준에 따른 비윤리 정보공유를 실증적으로 검정하는 것이다. 정보비대칭 상황에 따라 조직 구성원들의 정보공유 딜레마, 비윤리적 공유의도와 행동의 차이가 있는지를 확인하고자 한다. 연구방법은 구조방정식을 사용하였다. 분석결과, 정보공유의 윤리적 딜레마, 비윤리적 의도, 비윤리적 행동은 서로 인과적 영향력이 있다고 나타났다. 특히, 직급별로는 윤리적 딜레마와 비윤리적 의도 간에 윤리적 딜레마의 세부 요인들이 다르다고 나타났다. 이에 연구 결과로서, 조직은 직급 수준에 따라서 윤리적 이슈를 다르게 관리해야 한다. 본 연구의 기여도는 사회과학 관점에서 깨진 유리창 이론의 해석 범위를 넓혔으며, 실무적 관점에서 직급별로 윤리적 딜레마 관리가 다르게 요구된다고 설명하였다. 향후 연구는 정보보안 시스템에 의해서 비윤리적 행동이 감소하는지 조사할 필요가 있다.

대학 연구윤리체계의 발전방안 연구 (A Study on Improvement of Research Ethic System in University)

  • 이 연구는 대학 연구자들의 표절, 위변조, 중복게재, 부당한 저자표시, 연구윤리제도의 무력화 등 연구부정행위의 원인을 살펴보고 연구윤리체계의 개선방안을 모색하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구방법에 있어서 기본적으로 문헌연구에 의존하였으며, 보완적으로 국내 4년제 대학에서 연구 관련 분야에 대한 책임자로 일한 경험이 있거나 현재 연구윤리와 관련된 보직을 수행하고 있는 전문가 교수를 대상으로 델파이기법을 통한 자문을 실시했다. 연구결과 연구자 개인 측면에서는 연구자들이 관습에 미루는 안이한 태도와 부정직성, 연구비에 대한 욕심 등이 주요한 이유로 파악되었다. 조직측면에서는 규정의 세밀성과 적용의 미흡, 검증시스템의 결여, 성과중심의 연구 환경 등이 그 이유로 분석되었다. 연구자 개인적 이유로 발생하는 부정행위를 극복하기 위한 방안으로 연구윤리교육의 정례화 및 횟수 증가, 개인적 벌칙 강화가 제시되었다. 제도적 이유로 발생하는 부정행위를 극복하기 위한 방안으로서는 검증시스템의 강화, 고발자 신변보호제도 강화, 승진누락 등 벌칙제도의 강화 및 연구평가의 질적·양적 균형 강화 등이 제시되었다.

활동기준 원가 자료를 활용한 과별 전문의의 효율성 분석 : DEA-CCR 모형과 SBM 모형을 이용 (Efficiency Analysis of Specialists by Medical Specialty using Activity-Based Costing Data: Using the DEA-CCR model and SBM model)

  • Purposes: As super-aging population and low fertility rates are threatening the sustainability of the National Health Insurance funds, enhancing the efficiency of hospital management is paramount. In the past, studies analyzing the efficiencies of hospitals primarily made inter-hospital comparisons, but it is important to assess hospitals' internal efficiency and develop improvement measures in order to attain practical improvements in hospital efficiencies. The purpose of this study is to analyze the efficiencies of specialists by medical specialty in a hospital in order to provide foundational data for efficient hospital management. Methodology/Approach: We used the activity-based costing (ABC) data and hospital statistical data from one tertiary hospital in Seoul to analyze the efficiency of specialists by medical specialty. Efficiency was analyzed and compared among specialists using the data envelopment analysis developed by Charnes, Cooper, and Rhodes (DEA-CCR) model and the slacks-based measure (SBM) models. The input variables were labor cost, material cost, and operational expenses, and the output variables were the number of outpatients, number of inpatients, outpatient revenue, and inpatient revenue. Findings: First, there was a marked deviation in efficiency across specialists. Second, there was a marked deviation in efficiency across medical specialties. Third, there was little difference in efficiency according to the specialist's sex, age, and job position. Fourth, the SBM model produced more conservative results and better explained efficiency parameters than the CCR model. Practical Implications: The efficiency of a specialist was more influenced by their medical specialty than their personal characteristics, namely sex, age, and job position. Therefore, Further research is needed to analyze the efficiencies of each subspecialty and identify factors that contribute to the variations in efficiencies across medical specialties, such as clinical practices and fee structures.

QR 2D 코드와 라이다 센서를 이용한 모바일 로봇의 사람 추종 기법 개발 (Development of Human Following Method of Mobile Robot Using QR Code and 2D LiDAR Sensor)

  • In this paper, we propose a method to keep the robot at a distance of 30 to 45cm from the user in consideration of each individual's minimum area and inconvenience by using a 2D LiDAR sensor LDS-01 as the secondary sensor along with a QR code. First, the robot determines the brightness of the video and the presence of a QR code. If the light is bright and there is a QR code due to human's presence, the range of the 2D LiDAR sensor is set based on the position of the QR code in the captured image to find and follow the correct target. On the other hand, when the robot does not recognize the QR code due to the low light, the target is followed using a database that stores obstacles and human actions made before the experiment using only the 2D LiDAR sensor. As a result, our robot can follow the target person in four situations based on nine locations with seven types of motion.

조선시대 아동교육용 문헌에 나타난 정서과정에 대한 구범적 기대(II) (A Study on Normative Expectation of Emotional Process in Children′s Tectbooks of the Chosen Dynasty(II))

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the normative expectations of positive emotions such as happiness and pride in Korean culture by analyzing the children's textbooks in the Chosen Dynasty period. The method of this study was document analysis and the materials for analysis were 'Dongmongsensp', 'Gyukmongyogyul', 'Myungimbogam', and 'Sohak', that were the textbooks for children's education and invoked the ethics of individual life based on Confucianism. The analysis was focused on the antecedent events, emotional consequences, and emotional regulation in the emotional process of happiness and pride. According to the analysis, happiness was caused by the accomplishment of cultural tasks such as supporting parents, observing laws, being moderate, improving oneself with reading good books, and modeling good deeds, as well as parents' love, which had desirable consequences. Hence, the emotional regulation was to enhance happiness, but far as immoderate experience of happiness, the regulatory rule was expected to suppress it. Also, the antecedents of pride were those demonstrating to have power or occupying a high social position, and the consequences of pride led to self-destruction, and pride was therefore not allowed to be expressed. Consequently, happiness was enhanced because it motivated individuals to accomplish cultural tasks of interdependence, whereas pride was inhibited because it tended to disengage self from social connectedness.

The Effects of Corporate Social Responsibility on Job Performance: Moderating Effects of Authentic Leadership and Meaningfulness of Work

  • The study aims to investigate methods for companies to contribute to not only social and national developments, but also on the promotion of individuals and companies by re-examining the various phenomena that define companies. The study examines the relationship between subordinate factors of social responsibility activities and job performances as well as the role of CEOs in showing authentic leadership and meaningfulness of work. A total of 312 valid questionnaires were obtained, and hypotheses were tested using regression analysis, hierarchical regression analysis, and 3-way interactions. The results suggest that corporate social responsibility activities not only enhanced the performance of the members, but also confirmed the importance of the authentic leadership of the CEO. Additionally, the role of the members in the company also showed to play a very significant role in a company's developments. The results also show that the CEO and members need to make efforts to increase ethics as well as gain more competitiveness and improve their reputation by promoting their sense of calling and feeling of compassion in the workplace. In other words, the members of the high-ranking book and the members of the relatively low position will have different degrees of information transfer and evaluation of the company policy may be different.

일부 치위생과 학생들의 인구사회학적 특성과 윤리성향이 자아존중감에 미치는 영향 (Influence of socio-demographic characteristics and ethical type on self-esteem in dental hygiene students)

  • Objectives: The purpose of the study is to investigate the influence of socio-demographic characteristics and ethical type on self-esteem in dental hygiene students. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 657 dental hygiene students in J region from November 10 to December 10, 2014. Data were analyzed by SPSS 12.0 program. The study instrument consisted of ethical type and self-esteem by Liker 5 scale. Ethical type was adapted from Ethics Position Questionnaire by Forsyth and self-esteem was adapted and modified from Rosenburg instrument. Cronbach alpha was 0.850 in ethical type and 0.840 in self-esteem. Results: Ethical type of dental hygiene students showed higher idealism of 3.87 and relativism of 3.59. Self-esteem was 3.49. Extroverted personality tended to show higher self-esteem. Age, monthly income of parents, family atmosphere had an influence on self-esteem. The explanatory power of the study was 35.0%. Conclusions: The ethical type and self-esteem were the important factors to the dental hygiene students in career development.
