구조물에서 방사되는 소음을 저감하기 위한 능동구조음향제어 (Active Structural Acoustic Control for Reduction of Radiated Sound from Structure)

  • Active control of sound radiation from a vibrating rectangular plate by a steady-state harmonic point force disturbance is experimentally studied. Structural excitation is achieved by two piezoceramic actuators mounted on the panel. Two accelerometers are implemented as error sensors. Estimated radiated sound signals using vibro-acoustic path transfer function are used as error signals. The vibro-acoustic path transfer function represents system between accelerometers and microphones. The approach is based on a multi-channel filtered-x LMS algorithm. The results shows that attenuation of sound levels of 11dB, 10dB is achieved.

  • Optical character recognition (OCR) automatically recognizes text in an image. OCR is still a challenging problem in computer vision. A successful solution to OCR has important device applications, such as text-to-speech conversion and automatic document classification. In this work, we analyze character recognition performance using the current state-of-the-art deep-learning structures. One is the AlexNet structure, another is the LeNet structure, and the other one is the SPNet structure. For this, we have built our own dataset that contains digits and upper- and lower-case characters. We experiment in the presence of salt-and-pepper noise or Gaussian noise, and report the performance comparison in terms of recognition error. Experimental results indicate by five-fold cross-validation that the SPNet structure (our approach) outperforms AlexNet and LeNet in recognition error.

  • 본 논문에서는 DC-DC 컨버터에 적합한 퍼지제어기를 제안하였고, 이는 제어 파라메터의 변화가 심한 경우 기존의 선형 제어로는 만족할 수 없는 성능을 달성하기 위해서이다. 제안된 퍼지제어기는 범용으로 어떠한 DC-DC 컨버터 토폴로지(topologies)에도 적용할 수 있다. 퍼지 제어기 실행은 지존의 오차와 오차의 변화량에 의존하는 방식보다는 주요 상태변수를 이용하는 방식을 사용하였으며, 이는 DC-DC 컨보터의 경우 매우 효과적으로 작용하여 기존의 제어기보다 빠르고 안정적인 소신호응답 및 더욱 향상된 대신호응답을 보장하였다.예로서 부스트(boost) 컨버터에의 적용시 그 시물레이션 결과는 향상된 제어 가능성을 보여주고 있다.

On Combining Chase-2 and Sum-Product Algorithms for LDPC Codes

  • This letter investigates the combination of the Chase-2 and sum-product (SP) algorithms for low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes. A simple modification of the tanh rule for check node update is given, which incorporates test error patterns (TEPs) used in the Chase algorithm into SP decoding of LDPC codes. Moreover, a simple yet effective approach is proposed to construct TEPs for dealing with decoding failures with low-weight syndromes. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm is effective in improving both the waterfall and error floor performance of LDPC codes.

  • 본 논문은 비선형 시스템에서 시스템의 출력이 주기적인 특징을 가지는 궤적을 따라가도록 하는 슬라이딩 모드 반복 제어기를 소개한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 제어기는 전체 시스템을 안정화시키며 출력오차를 어떤 범위 안으로 지수적으로 수렴시키는 슬라이딩 모드 제어기와 추적 오차의 수렴을 위해서 사용되는 반복 제어기로 구성되어 있다. 본 논문에서는 제안하는 슬라이딩 모드 제어기는 기존의 방법과는 다르게 제어입력의 크기가 추적오차의 크기에 비례하게 되어 있어서 시스템의 차수를 올리지 않고 정상상태에서의 채터링(chattering) 문제를 크게 개선하는 특징을 가지고 있다.

The results demonstrate that attenuation of sound levels of 3dB, 13dB are achieved.

  • This paper proposes a Fuzzy TPR having the control function to a TPR used for the conversion of electricity in industrial field. The Fuzzy TPR based on the Fuzzy Logic Control technique is composed of the parts to calculate the low-level value and the high-level value. These values are calculated by error and change in error which are refer to the look-up table. To show the usefulness of the proposed Fuzzy TPR, it is applied to industrial temperature control system. In the results of experiment, we see that the system is able to fast reach steady-state, and for our approach to be robust to external disturbance than the method using the conventional TPR.

  • This paper describes the design of a robust adaptive neural-net(NN) observer for uncertain nonlinear dynamical system. The Lyapunov synthesis approach is used to guarantee a uniform ultimate boundedness property of the state estimation error, as well as of all other signals in the closed-loop system. Especially, for reducing the dynamic oder of the observer, we propose a new method in which no strictly positive real(SPR) condition is needed with on-line estimation of weights of the NNs. No a priori knowledge of an upper bounds on the uncertain terms is required. The theoretical results are illustrated through a simulation example.

비지도학습 기반의 뎁스 추정을 위한 지식 증류 기법 (Knowledge Distillation for Unsupervised Depth Estimation)

  • This paper proposes a novel approach for training an unsupervised depth estimation algorithm. The objective of unsupervised depth estimation is to estimate pixel-wise distances from camera without external supervision. While most previous works focus on model architectures, loss functions, and masking methods for considering dynamic objects, this paper focuses on the training framework to effectively use depth cue. The main loss function of unsupervised depth estimation algorithms is known as the photometric error. In this paper, we claim that direct depth cue is more effective than the photometric error. To obtain the direct depth cue, we adopt the technique of knowledge distillation which is a teacher-student learning framework. We train a teacher network based on a previous unsupervised method, and its depth predictions are utilized as pseudo labels. The pseudo labels are employed to train a student network. In experiments, our proposed algorithm shows a comparable performance with the state-of-the-art algorithm, and we demonstrate that our teacher-student framework is effective in the problem of unsupervised depth estimation.

  • A phase-locked loop control system designed by using the linear quadratic regulator approach is presented in this paper. The system thus designed is optimal system when system is in locked state and the parameter value of loop filter which is an active PI filter can be obtained easily. By considering the structure of loop filter of phase-locked loop is included in the process to be controlled, a type 1 servo system can be constructed when voltage control oscillator is considered as an integrator. The integral gain of the proposed system obtained by linear quadratic regulator approach can be used as an optimal value to design the parameter of loop filter. The implemented result in controlling the second-order lag pressure process by using the proposed scheme show that the system response is fast with no overshoot and no steady-state error. Furthermore, the experimental results are also shown in term of output disturbance effect rejection, tracking and process parameter changed.
