HIERARCHICAL SWITCHING CONTROL OF LONGITUDINAL ACCELERATION WITH LARGE UNCERTAINTIES

  • In this study, a hierarchical switching control scheme based on robust control theory is proposed for tracking control of vehicle longitudinal acceleration in the presence of large uncertainties. A model set consisting of four multiplicative-uncertainty models is set up, and its corresponding controller set is designed by the LMI approach, which can ensures the robust performance of the closed loop system under arbitray switching. Based on the model set and the controller set, a switching index function by estimating the system gain of the uncertainties between the plant and the nominal model is designed to determine when and which controller should be switched into the closed loop. After theoretical analyses, experiments have also been carried out to validate the proposed control algorithm. The results show that the control system has good performance of robust stability and tracking ability in the presence of large uncertainties. The response time is smaller than 1.5s and the max tracking error is about $0.05\;m/S^2$ with the step input.

  • This paper presents a nonlinear adaptive control approach to a 4-point attraction magnetic levitation system using the local coordinates transformation and neural network. Based on local coordinates transformations, the magnetic levitation system can be represented in a state magnetic levitation system can be represented in a state space from of a 4-input 4-output. Neural networks which are defined in the new coordinates are used to learn the nonlinear functions of the system which are defined in the new coordinats also. The parameters of the neural networks are updated in an on-line manner according to an augmented tracking error. The simulation results are reported in this paper.

  • Recently, the problem associated with the achievement of desired trajectories for non-linear robotic manipulatory systems are researched. The control system which is designed for this robot manipulator, poses a number of severe problem. The methods proposed to deal with the problem fall loosely into three main classes : "direct" "adaptive", "anthropomorphic". Besides there is an approach which is described based upon the application of optimal control theory. In this paper, using the optimal theory, we choose error-coordinate, between the desired trajectories and the practical as the state values, and determine the control law U which minimize a corresponding performance criterion. Let's consider the robotic arm proposed by Freund and set up the deviations of it's trajectory as a measure of performance. To find the optimal control law $U^*$ and the next state value which need to obtain $U^*$ here, we should introduced the conjugate gradient algorithm and the Runge Kutta method.

  • We investigate a systematic design procedure of automated rule generation of fuzzy logic based controller for uncertain dynamic systems such as an engine dynamic model.“Automated Tuning”means autonomous clustering or collection of such meaningful transitional relations in the state-space. Optimal control strategies are included in the design procedures, such as minimum squared error, minimum time, minimum energy or combined performance criteria. Fuzzy feedback control systems designed by the cell-state transition method have the properties of closed-loop stability, robustness under parameter variabtions, and a certain degree of optimality. Most of all, the main advantage of the proposed approach is that reliability can be potentially increased even if a large grain of uncertainty is involved within the control system under consideration. A numerical example is shown in which we apply our strategic fuzzy controller design to a highly nonlinear model of engine idle speed contr l.

  • 이 연구는 T-S 퍼지 접근법을 이용하여 불확실한 비선형 시스템의 균형화된 모델 차수 축소 방법을 제시한다. 일반화된 가제어성, 가관측성 그래미안을 정의하고 이들을 이용하여 균형화된 상태공간 모델을 얻는다. 균형화된 상태공간 모델로부터 상태변수 뿐만 아니라 불확실한 요소를 절삭하여 간략화된 모델을 얻는 기법을 제시하고 모델오차의 상한치를 제시한다. 균형화된 상해공간은 선형행렬 부등식의 해를 구하여 구현할 수 있으며 제시한 방법의 효용성을 보여주기 위하여 수치 예를 보여준다.

  • Impedance tomography (EIT) is a relatively new imaging modality in which the internal impedivity distribution is reconstructed based on the known sets of injected currents through the electrodes and induced voltages on the surface of the object.   • Recent concerns about rising fuel prices and greenhouse gas emissions have focused attention on alternative energy sources, particularly in the transport sector. Transportation consumes 40% of overall fuel usage. As a result, a growing majority of researches on Electric Vehicles (EVs) and their Energy Management Systems (EMS) have been done. In order to enhance the performance and to meet the needs of drivers, more information regarding the EMS is needed. A new Energy Management System is proposed using a FOPID controller. To put the concept into practice, state equations are utilised. The fifth-order state-space model under study is a linked model with several inputs and outputs and the transfer matrices are calculated for decoupling the system. Utilizing these transfer matrices to decouple the system and FOPID controller is used to tune the system. The tuned parameters are minimized using a Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) approach with Integral Time Absolute Error (ITAE) as the goal. When the suggested FOPID system's results are compared to those of PID-controlled systems, a sizable improvement is observed, which is explained by the results.

A Single-Input Single-Output Approach by using Minor-Loop Voltage Feedback Compensation with Modified SPWM Technique for Three-Phase AC-DC Buck Converter

  • The modified sinusoidal pulse-width modulation (SPWM) is one of the PWM techniques used in three-phase AC-DC buck converters. The modified SPWM works without the current sensor (the converter is current sensorless), improves production of sinusoidal AC current, enables obtainment of near-unity power factor, and controls output voltage through modulation gain (ranging from 0 to 1). The main problem of the modified SPWM is the huge starting current and voltage (during transient) that results from a large step change from the reference voltage. When the load changes, the output voltage significantly drops (through switching losses and non-ideal converter elements). The single-input single-output (SISO) approach with minor-loop voltage feedback controller presented here overcomes this problem. This approach is created on a theoretical linear model and verified by discrete-model simulation on MATLAB/Simulink. The capability and effectiveness of the SISO approach in compensating start-up current/voltage and in achieving zero steady-state error were tested for transient cases with step-changed load and step-changed reference voltage for linear and non-linear loads. Tests were done to analyze the transient performance against various controller gains. An experiment prototype was also developed for verification.

  • 본 논문에서는 불확실성 파라미터를 포함한 김발시스템의 상태궤환 강인제어기를 제안하였다. 제안한 제어기는 김발시스템 동역학 변화에 강인하도록 설계하였고, 위치 및 속도 정상상태 오차 감소를 위한 동적보상기를 상태변수에 추가하였다. 페루프 시스템의 안정도는 Lyapunov 안정도판별법을 이용하여 증명하고, 2축 김발시스템 모델링을 이용한 모의실험을 통해 제어기 성능입증을 수행하였다.

  • The maritime industry is expanding at an alarming rate and as such there is a perpetual need to improve situation awareness in the maritime environment using new and emerging technology. Tracking is one of the numerous ways of enhancing situation awareness by providing information that may be useful to the operator. The tracking system described herein comprises determining existing states of own ship, state prediction and state compensation caused by random noise. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the process of tracking and develop a tracking algorithm by using ${\alpha}-{\beta}-{\gamma}$ tracking filter under a random noise or irregular motion for use in a warship. The algorithm involves initializing the input parameters of position, velocity and course. The actual positions are then computed for each time interval. In addition, a weighted difference of the observed and predicted position at the nth observation is added to the predicted position to obtain the smoothed position. This estimation is subsequently employed to determine the predicted position at (n+1). The smoothed values, predicted values and the observed values are used to compute the twice distance root mean square (2drms) error as a measure of accuracy of the tracking module.
