  • Estimating the construction period at the initial stage of the project and determining whether it is appropriate is very important for the developer's decision-making and the success of the construction company's business. Existing researchers have conducted various studies to calculate the appropriate construction period, but there is no study on the influencing factors and methodology for the construction period of beam-column PC apartment building frame construction. The purpose of this study is to calculate the PC member assembly time using the mathematical algorithm of PC member assembly. The results of this study can be used as basic data to calculate the construction date of the standard floor of PC construction.

  • The purpose of this study is to specify an erection process for each member of the PC staircase. For this purpose, field work was investigated at the LH PC apartment building site and classified in detail through unit work analysis inspection. The results of this study are intended to be used as basic data for creating work sequences and related guidelines for LH's PC staircase.

  • Cable-stayed bridges are more inherently vulnerable to wind during the erection stages than when they are already being used. Even if a bridge that is already being used is aerodynamically stable, it is prone to having aerodynamic instabilities within the design wind speed during construction. Therefore, when the bridge's designers deliberate on the method they will use in constructing the bridge, they must likewise come up with a suitable plan to ensure the stability of the bridge during its erection (e.g., conducting a wind-tunnel investigation). This paper describes the aeroelastic full-bridge model tests that were conducted to investigate the aerodynamic behavior of the bridge during erection, with emphasis on aerodynamic stability and the mitigation of the buffeting response through temporary stabilization. The aerodynamic performance of a cable -stayed bridge with a main span of 50 m was studied in its completed stage and in two erection stages, corresponding 50% and 90% completion, respectively. In the 50% erection stage tests, a balanced cantilever configuration, with wind cable and temporary support at the tower, was conducted. The system that was determined to be most effective in reducing wind action on the bridge during construction was proposed in the paper, based on the results of the comparative study that was conducted.

  • Korean naval architecture company today is making researches in expansion of productivity of their own accord. In result, they have accomplished many technical developments like a ground shipbuilding system. For our company's productivity expansion in our yard's limited condition (the facility, P.E area, stock area), we develop isometric pre-erection method that turn into a possibility to maximize our facility use, minimize our dock period.

  • In this study, a time domain analysis is presented for investigation on the buffeting response of cable-stayed bridge during both erection and completion stages. The main span length and width of deck are 520 m and 15.1m, each. Since the ratio of span over width is 34.44, aerodynamic stability of the bridge during erection is expected to dominate the safety of the bridge in construction stage. Several conclusions regarding different construction stages and temporary wind cables are obtained.

  • Ssanghwatang (SHT) has been known to prove effective in the treatment for erectile dysfunction (ED), and its modified formula is widely used in clinical practice. However, its fundamental mechanism of action is not clearly known. It is well known that endothelial cells can achieve the relaxation of vascular smooth muscles by the release of nitric oxide (NO). NO is synthesized by the enzyme NO synthase (NOS) from L-arginine and oxygen. It is widely accepted that NO plays an important role in the relaxation of corpus cavernous smooth muscle and vasculature. In addition, in terms of the penile erection, the NO/cGMP pathway is more potent than the PCE1/cAMP pathway. The main purpose of the present study was to investigate the mechanism of the erectile effects of SHT by focusing on its direct effects on corpus cavernous smooth muscle cells. We investigated the NOS activity, nitrite concentration and cGMP levels in rat corpus cavernous smooth muscle cell lines activated by SHT extracts. Furthermore, we evaluated the effect of SHT extracts on penile smooth muscle relaxation following oral administration of SHT extract powder to rats by the dosage of 1 g/kg over fifteen days. As a result, we found that SHT stimulated NO release. NOS activity and cGMP levels were increased by SHT respectively. Furthermore, SHT relaxed the corpus cavernous smooth muscle. These results are consistent with the concept that penile erection by SHT is carried out through the NO/cGMP pathway. In conclusion, the present study shows that SHT increases the NOS activity, synthesizes NO and augments the cGMP, which mediates penile erection. Further determination of the SHT mechanism related with the NO/cGMP pathway strongly indicates that SHT can be used as a remedy for erectile impotence.

  • Single layer latticed domes which have a mechanics property, a functional property, a aesthetic property and so on, occupies one part of long span space structures and after this, the using parts will be extended. The frame network pattern of single-layer latticed domes can be infinitely taken into account. The typical network patterns are triangular, square, hexagon, lamella and rib etc. It would take long time and cost too much to erect large roof structures with traditional erection techniques due to require of large number of temporary bracing and supports. The erection of large roof structures requires special techniques. As one of these special techniques is the Step-Up election method that utilizes jack-up supports and this will extremely saves time and cost to erect large roof structures. The objective of this study is to analysis the buckling characteristics of single-layer lamella domes according to the support number and position. From the result of this study, we obtained the fundamental data for the structural engineers who design the temporary support of large roof structures.

Investigation on flutter stability of three-tower suspension bridges under skew wind

  • To ensure the flutter stability of three-tower suspension bridges under skew wind, by using the computational procedure of 3D refined flutter analysis of long-span bridges under skew wind, in which structural nonlinearity, the static wind action(also known as the aerostatic effect) and the full-mode coupling effect etc., are fully considered, the flutter stability of a three-tower suspension bridge-the Taizhou Bridge over the Yangtze River in completion and during the deck erection is numerically investigated under the constant uniform skew wind, and the influences of skew wind and aerostatic effects on the flutter stability of the bridge under the service and construction conditions are assessed. The results show that the flutter critical wind speeds of three-tower suspension bridge under service and construction conditions fluctuate with the increase of wind yaw angle instead of a monotonous cosine rule as the decomposition method proposed, and reach the minimum mostly in the case of skew wind. Both the skew wind and aerostatic effects significantly reduce the flutter stability of three-tower suspension bridge under the service and construction conditions, and the combined skew wind and aerostatic effects further deteriorate the flutter stability. Both the skew wind and aerostatic effects do not change the evolution of flutter stability of the bridge during the deck erection, and compared to the service condition, they lead to a greater decrease of flutter critical wind speed of the bridge during deck erection, and the influence of the combined skew wind and aerostatic effects is more prominent. Therefore, the skew wind and aerostatic effects must be considered accurately in the flutter analysis of three-tower suspension bridges.

Preparation and in vivo Evaluation of a Sildenafil Lactate-loaded Solid Self-emulsifying Drug Delivery System

  • To develop a sildenafil lactate-loaded solid self-emulsifying drug delivery system (SEDDS) with a fast onset of action and immediate action of erection, sildenafil lactate (0.3 g), which was prepared using a spray dryer, was dissolved in 4.7 g of the mixture of glyceryl monooleate/Transcutol/ Tween 20 (3/0.5/1, g). Its emulsion droplet size and pharmacokinetics in rabbits were evaluated compared with sildenafil citrate-loaded commercial tablet. The sildenafil lactateloaded SEDDS showed an emulsion droplet size of about 300 nm. In pharmacokinetics study, it gave significantly faster Tmax than did the commercial tablet. Thus, the sildenafil lactate-loaded SEDDS at the one-third drug dose compared to sildenafil citrate-loaded conventional tablet might induce a fast onset of action and immediate erection without enhanced bioavailability compared with the sildenafil citrate-loaded commercial tablet.

  • For deep basement construction of buildings downtown, the usage of Top-Down Method is increasing as much as ever from strong demand. One of the essential elements for the construction by Top Down Method is the pre-founded columns, which are installed in the ground and on which a building is installed. The fact that the pre-founded columns are placed in the ground makes them susceptible to its plumbness; this aspect distinguishes pre-founded columns from general columns. However, there are no criteria for erection tolerance. Therefore, field-measured-data concerning out-of-plumb of pre-founded columns in the construction field should be accumulated and investigated so that criteria and specifications for the erection tolerance of pre-founded columns may be established through the understanding of its aspects. In this paper, we investigate out-of-plumb of pre-founded columns for the construction case and analyze its aspects, and propose considerations for design and construction phase.
