This paper presents the coordinate systems used for trawl doors modeling, and provides matrix equations of connection between these systems. The projections of the forces acting on the door into axes of various coordinate systems were obtained, which were used in the door equilibrium equations. Six equilibrium conditions for the door as a solid were obtained: formulas that allow for the door area in plan to be determined; its weight in water; its mass; three moment equations for determining the position of the warp and backstrops fastening points to the door with triangular and quadrangular backstrop arrangements. It was found that the moment equilibrium equations of trawl doors are generally incompatible, which was not found by any of the authors who have previously conducted research into trawl doors. Using the Kronecker-Capelli theorem, the compatibility equation is obtained. This equation includes the coordinates of the backstrop fastening points to the door, which means that these points cannot be randomly selected. The technique of determining the warp and backstrops' fastening points position to the door is described. Conditions of directional (by angle of attack) and roll (in angle of roll) stability of the doors' equilibrium are presented. The equations presented in this paper comprise a mathematical model that allows, when designing the doors, to select optimal parameters, as well as to carry out adjustments for trawling purposes to ensure the stable movement of the doors and the entire trawl system.
Wave field changes resulting from artificial coastal structures constructed in coastal zones have emerged as a major cause of beach erosion, among other factors. The rates of erosion along the eastern coast of Korea have varied mainly owing to the construction of various ports and coastal structures; however, impact assessments of these structures on beach erosion have not been appropriately conducted. Thus, in this study, a methodology to assess the impact of erosion owing to the construction of artificial structures has been proposed, for which a parabolic bay shape equation is used in determining the shoreline angle deformation caused by the structures. Assuming that the conditions of sediment or waves have similar values in most coastal areas, a primary variable impacting coastal sediment transport is the deformation of an equilibrium shoreline relative to the existing beach. Therefore, the angle rotation deforming the equilibrium of a shoreline can be the criterion for evaluating beach erosion incurred through the construction of artificial structures. The evaluation criteria are classified into three levels: safety, caution, and danger. If the angle rotation of the equilibrium shoreline is 0.1° or less, the beach distance was considered to be safe in the present study; however, if this angle is 0.35° or higher, the beach distance is considered to be in a state of danger. Furthermore, in this study, the distance affected by beach erosion is calculated in areas of the eastern coast where artificial structures, mainly including ports and power plants, were constructed; thereafter, an impact assessment of the beach erosion around these areas was conducted. Using a proposed methodology, Gungchon Port was evaluated with caution, whereas Donghae Port, Sokcho Port, and Samcheok LNG were evaluated as being in a state of danger.

A new composite control method for a carriage balancing single inverted pendulum system is proposed and applied to swing up the pendulum and to stabilize it under the state constraint. The target inverted pendulum system has an extremely limited length of the cart(below 16cm). The proposed swing-up controller comprises a sliding mode control algorithm and an optimal control algorithm based on two regions: the region near the inverted unstable equilibrium position and the rest of the state space including the downward stable equilibrium position. The sliding mode controller uses a switching control action to converge along the specified path(hyperplane) derived from energy equation from a state around the path to desired state(standing position). An optimal control method is also used to guarantee the stability at unstable equilibrium position. Compared with the reported controllers, it is simpler and easier to implement. Experimental results are given to show the effectiveness of this controller.
Many compartment models assume a kinetically homogeneous amount of materials that have well-stirred compartments. However, based on observations from such processes, they have been heuristically fitted by exponential or gamma distributions even though biological media are inhomogeneous in real environments. Fractional differential equations using a specific kernel in Pharmacokinetic/Pharmacodynamic (PKPD) model are recently introduced to account for abnormal drug disposition. We discuss a tumor growth inhibition (TGI) model using fractional-order derivative from it. This represents a tumor growth delay by cytotoxic agents and additionally show variations in the equilibrium points by the change of fractional order. The result indicates that the equilibrium depends on the tumor size as well as a change of the fractional order. We find that the smaller the fractional order, the smaller the equilibrium value. However, a difference of them is the number of concavities and this indicates that TGI over time profile for fitting or prediction should be determined properly either fractional order or tumor sizes according to the number of concavities shown in experimental data.
In this work, we summarize the calculation processes of obtaining a scattering factor using with the equilibrium average projection scheme (EAPS), with moderately weak coupling (MWC) interaction, and obtain the line-shape formula of an electron-deformation phonon interacting system interested in the confinement of electrons by squarwell confinement potentials in quantum two dimensional system.. Through the numerical analysis, we analysis the magnetic dependence of absorption power, P(B) in several temperature and frequency difference dependence of absorption power $P({\Delta}{\omega})$, in several external field, where ${\Delta}{\omega}={\omega}-{\omega}_0$ and ${\omega}({\omega}_0)$ is the angular frequency (the cyclotron resonance frequency). The result of equilibrium average projection scheme (EAPS) in SER-MWC explains the properties of quantum transition quite well.

The Vapor-liquid equilibrium data for the binary system of 2-methyl-2-propanol-2-butanone are measured at subatmospheric pressure of 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700 and 760 torr. This study shows that the relations between logarithmic values of relative valatility(log ${\alpha}$)and liquid phase composition(${\chi}$) in the above binary systems are expressed as a linear function. When the linear relationships of between logarithmic values of relative volatilities and liquid phase compositions in the binary systems of various pressure intersect at a point, this empirical equation can be applied to the systems of this kind. From these relations the vapor-liquid equilibrium data are estimated and compared with the measured values to be in a good agreement with in accuracy ${\pm}0.0021$ for the various pressure.
A sectional analysis of trunk-lid carried out by using the equilibrium approach based on the force balance together with geometric relations and plasticity theory. In computing a force balance equation, it is required to define a geometric curve approximating the shape of sheet metal at any step of deformation from the interaction between the die and the deformed sheet. The trunk-lid panel material is assumed to possess normal anisotropy and to obey Hill's new yield criterion. Deformation of each section of trunk-lid panel is simulated and composed to get the three-dimensional shape by using CAD technique. It was shown that the three-dimensional shape composition of the two-dimensional analysis.

Fixed boundary MHD static equilibrium for the axisymmetric toroidal plasma is analyzed numerically. The Grad-Shafranov equation is solved using finite element method. The toroidal current term is expressed by plasma pressure and toroidal field function. The numerical results are compared to the Solovev analytic equilibrium for the verification of the solution. For SNUT-79 tokamak device in Seoul National University, the flux surfaces, the toroidal current profiles, the safety factor q and average beta values are obtained when the p and g profiles are varied.
Solvent extraction reaction of Zn(II) by Alamine336 from strong HCl solution up to 10 M was identified by analyzing the data reported in the literature. The equilibrium constant of this reaction was estimated by considering the complex formation between zinc and chloride ion. The necessary thermodynamic parameters, such as equilibrium constant for the formation of complexes and the interaction parameters, were evaluated from the thermodynamic data reported in the literature. The following solvent extraction reaction and the equilibrium constant was obtained by considering the activity coefficients of solutes present in the aqueous phase with Bromley equation. $Zn^{2+}\;2Cl^{-}\;+\;R_3NHCl_{org}\;=\;ZnCl_3R_3NH_{org},\;K_{ex}\;=\;6.33\;{\times}\;10^2$ There was a good agreement between measured and calculated distribution coefficients of Zn(II).
The slope stability analysis is usually done using the methods of calculation to rupture. The problem lies in determining the critical failure surface and the corresponding factor of safety (FOS). To evaluate the slope stability by a method of limit equilibrium, there are linear and nonlinear methods. The linear methods are direct methods of calculation of FOS but nonlinear methods require an iterative process. The nonlinear simplified Bishop method's is popular because it can quickly calculate FOS for different slopes. This paper concerns the use of inverse analysis by genetic algorithm (GA) to find out the factor of safety for the slopes using the Bishop simplified method. The analysis is formulated to solve the nonlinear equilibrium equation and find the critical failure surface and the corresponding safety factor. The results obtained by this approach compared with those available in literature illustrate the effectiveness of this inverse method.
