  • This paper proposes an approximate LCA methodology fur the conceptual design stage by grouping products according to their environmental characteristics and by mapping product attributes Into impact driver (ID) index. The relationship Is statistically verified by exploring the correlation between total impact indicator and energy impact category. Then an artificial neural network model is developed to predict an approximate LCA of grouping products in conceptual design stage. The training is generalized by using identified product attributes for an ID In a group as well as another product attributes for another IDs in other groups. The neural network model with back propagation algorithm is used and the results are compared with those of multiple regression analysis. The proposed approach does not replace the full LCA but it would give an approximate LCA results for design concepts.

에스닉 푸드 레스토랑 선택속성의 중요도가 전반적 만족도에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of Importance Factors Affecting Ethnic Food Restaurant Selection upon Overall Satisfaction)

  • This study analyzed the Importance-Performance Analysis of selective attributes of Ethnic Food Restaurant. A total of 369 questionnaires were analyzed. Five factors were obtained from factor analysis of Importance variance of selective attributes of Ethnic food restaurant: Factor 1 "Quality", Factor 2 "Service", Factor 3 "Physical environment", Factor 4 "Uniqueness", Factor 5 "Health". Also, "Quality", "Physical environment", "Uniqueness" factors influenced overall satisfaction. In addition, according to the IPA results, selective attributes with low satisfaction and high importance in the second quadrant were 'Sanitation that comfort hospitality', 'Level of service' and 'Price'. These results suggest that when customers select Ethnic food restaurant, they consider 'food price' and 'food quality'. Therefore, manager of ethnic food restaurant should take these improvement factors into consideration in order to meet consumer's expectations.

  • The long-term electricity resource planning of electric utility has undergone significant change during the past decade. The current resource planning can be considered as multi-objective decision making procedure under the various uncertainties such as demand growth, construction cost, fuel price, environmental regulation, plant site, financial adequacy, new technology advent and so on. This paper presents a standardized electricity resource planning scheme using the strategic planning concept. EGEAS computer model was fully applied to indentify feasible alternative plans and simulate various attribute values corresponding each alternative plan and future. As a case study, a hypothetical long-ten capacity expansion planning problem is analyzed.

  • Satellite and aerial images are very useful means to monitor ecological and environmental situation. Nowadays more and more officials at Ministry of Environment in Korea need to access and use these image data through networks like internet or intranet. However it is very hard to manage and service these image data through internet or intranet, because of its size problem. In this paper very large image data service system for Ministry of Environment is constructed on web environment using image compression and web based image processing technology. Through this system, not only can officials in Ministry of Environment access and use all the image data but also can achieve several image processing effects on web environment. Moreover officials can retrieve attribute information from vector GIS data that are also integrated with the system.

공간정보 기반 환경영향평가 활성화를 위한 표준화 방안 (Standardization Plan for Activation of Environmental Impact Assessment based on Spatial Information)

  • 환경적 가치를 보존하고 개발로 인한 부정적 영향을 최소화하기 위하여 환경영향평가 제도가 수행되고 있다. 현재의 환경영향평가의 객관성 강화하기 위해 데이터 기반으로 전환이 필요한 시점이다. 또한 국가 차원의 다양한 공간정보 제공 및 환경영향평가에 공간정보 연계 가능성을 통해 환경영향평가제도의 공간정보 활용 확대가 요구되고 있다. 그러나 현재 환경영향평가에서 공간정보가 체계적으로 활용되고 있지 않는다. 또한 환경영향평가 업무 종사자(담당 공무원, 환경영향평가서 대행기관, 검토기관 등)들은 공간정보 개념에 대한 이해도가 부족하여 효율적으로 활용하는데 한계가 있다. 이러한 공간정보 활용의 한계점을 개선하기 위하여 본 연구에서는 공간정보 표준화(좌표, 속성 테이블) 방안을 제안하였다. 이를 위해, 국가 공인의 좌표계 및 표준을 기반으로 표준 좌표계를 제안하였으며, 환경매체별 조사 항목의 데이터 테이블의 기본항목을 9개로 설정하였다. 마지막으로, 전술된 표준화를 실제 환경영향평가 사업에 대하여 시범 적용하였다. 본 연구에서 제안한 표준화 방안은 환경영향평가에서의 공간정보 활용 활성화 및 평가 분야의 범위 확장에 기여할 것으로 사료된다.

캐나다 아퀴스토어 탄성파자료를 통한 이산화탄소 지중저장 연구지역 대수층 특성화 (Aquifer Characterization Using Seismic Data on the Aquistore CCS Project, Canada)

  • 캐나다 아퀴스토어 프로젝트는 인근의 화력발전소에서 포집한 이산화탄소를 심부 약 3,500 m에 존재하는 염대수층에 저장하는 포집, 수송, 주입 및 저장의 전 과정을 포함하는 세계 최초의 통합 실증 프로젝트이다. 이산화탄소의 저장소로서의 염대수층은 기존의 한정적으로 분포된 석유가스 저류층과 비교했을 때 전 세계 어디서나 분포하므로 이에 대한 실증 연구는 이산화탄소 지중저장의 저변 확대에 큰 의미가 있다. 염대수층에 이산화탄소를 주입하고 추적하기 위해서는 지하의 물성을 파악하고 특성화해야 한다. 본 연구는 캐나다 아퀴스토어 이산화탄소 지중저장 현장의 탄성파 탐사자료로부터 석유가스 자원 탐사에 이용되는 진폭 변화 분석기술을 응용하여 지중저장 대상지층의 유체 포화 특성을 도출하였다. 시추공 검층자료에서 해석된 이산화탄소 저장층 구간의 상부 및 하부는 Winnipeg층 1,815 ms과 Deadwood 층 1,857 ms로 탄성파 자료와 대비하였다. 대상 구간의 탄성파 기록으로부터 입사각에 따른 진폭 크기변화를 확인한 결과 자료의 상관성은 45 %에서 81 % 범위였다. 종축절편과 진폭구배 속성을 교차출력한 결과는 반비례 관계를 보여 전형적인 함수 퇴적층에 해당하였다. 계산된 속성들에서 대수층의 기저를 공간적으로 도시하였고 이산화탄소 지중저장 구간의 포아송비 변화를 예측하였다.

지리정보체계와 대기확산의 통합 (Integration of Geographic Information System and Air Dispersion Model)

  • 환경영향평가는 1981년 환경영향평가서가 작성된 이후로 환경보전과 의사결정용 위한 수단으로 발전해 왔다. 환경영향평가 과정을 효과적으로 실행하기 위하여 환경영향평가 제도개선과 기법개발을 하고 있으며, 최근에는 도면자료와 속성자료를 효과적으로 통합할 수 있는 지리정보체계가 도입되었다. 그리고 지리정보체계의 환경영향평가 과정에 적용을 위한 필요성이 점차적으로 증가하고 있다. 이 연구는 폐기물매립지에서 $NH_3$ 악취물질의 예측과 평가에 대하여 지리정보체계와 대기확산모델의 통합방법을 제시하는 데 있다. 첫째로 수치고도모델을 이용하여 각 그리드별 고도를 추출하고 둘째, 이 고도자료와 기후, 오염원 자료를 확산모델에 입력하고 셋째, 통 리별 인구를 포함한 행정구역도와 악취예측자료의 중첩분석 방법을 제시한다. 이 결과들은 주거지역에 대한 영향평가와 영향지역을 체계적으로 분석한 수 있고, 이러한 체계적인 분석은 사업자와 주민의 환경분쟁의 협상시 지원될 수 있다.

광주지역 영산강의 NBOD 발생에 대한 암모니아성 질소 및 미생물 영향 연구 (Effect of ammonia nitrogen and microorganisms on the elevated nitrogenous biochemical oxygen demand (NBOD) levels in the Yeongsan river in Gwangju)

  • The present study was performed to investigate the effects of NH3-N and nitrifying microorganisms on the increased BOD of downstream of the Yeongsan river in Gwangju. Water samples were collected periodically from the 13 sampling sites of rivers from April to October 2021 to monitor water qualities. In addition, the trends of nitrogenous biochemical oxygen demand (NBOD) and microbial clusters were analyzed by adding different NH3-N concentrations to the water samples. The monitoring results showed that NH3-N concentration in the Yeongsan river was 22 times increased after the inflow of discharged water from the Gwangju 1st public sewage treatment plant (G-1-PSTP). Increased NH3-N elevated NBOD levels through the nitrification process in the river, consequently, it would attribute to the increase of BOD in the Yeongsan river. Meanwhile, there was no proportional relation between NBOD and NH3-N concentrations. However, there was a significant difference in NBOD occurrence by sampling sites. Specifically, when 5 mg/L NH3-N was added, NBOD of the river sample showed 2-4 times higher values after the inflow of discharged water from G-1-PSTP. Therefore, it could be thought other factors such as microorganisms influence the elevated NBOD levels. Through next-generation sequencing analysis, nitrifying microorganisms such as Nitrosomonas, Nitroga, and Nitrospira (Genus) were detected in rivers samples, especially, the proportion of them was the highest in river samples after the inflow of discharged water from G-1-PSTP. These results indicated the effects of nitrifying microorganisms and NH3-N concentrations as important limiting factors on the increased NBOD levels in the rivers. Taken together, comprehensive strategies are needed not only to reduce the NH3-N concentration of discharged water but also to control discharged nitrifying microorganisms to effectively reduce the NBOD levels in the downstream of the Yeongsan river where discharged water from G-1-PSTP flows.

시흥시 주요 저수지의 환경친화적 공간 계획 (Environmental Friendly Space Planning for Reservoirs in Siheung City)

  • This report designs a landscape plan of six reservoirs in Sihung city which has possibilities both in development and in destruction. The report suggests how to create a leisure space in harmony with the surroundings in Sihung city. Building a leisure town will create the local residents' demand in recreational activities and improve the amenities. Therefore this study analyzes eco-friendliness of the land, conditions of fauna and flora, the quality of water and the usage figures of the six reservoirs so as to develop those six reservoirs more eco-friendly. Based on environmentalism, the leisure spot development plan attribute the ultimate importance to local residents' pleasant leisure time and recreations. With this master plan, the report suggests expanding the city's green space, since the city has under 50% out of the optimal percentage of green space per person. In addition, the report intends to plan each six reservoirs developed separately but organically connected at the same time that those six can put together and become a Sihung Green Way which makes the city's leisure space a belt. Apportioning the six reservoirs development levels in order to balance the development, accumulating and arranging buildings and facilities in available spaces according to the governing law, and creating resting area, promenade and parking lot to make an eco-city. Also the report suggests conserving environment and regulating contamination such as ban on fishing to move forward sustainable development. Since the adventives predominate the site, introducing indigenous plants should be necessary soon.

A wireless impedance analyzer for automated tomographic mapping of a nanoengineered sensing skin

  • Polymeric thin-film assemblies whose bulk electrical conductivity and mechanical performance have been enhanced by single-walled carbon nanotubes are proposed for measuring strain and corrosion activity in metallic structural systems. Similar to the dermatological system found in animals, the proposed self-sensing thin-film assembly supports spatial strain and pH sensing via localized changes in electrical conductivity. Specifically, electrical impedance tomography (EIT) is used to create detailed mappings of film conductivity over its complete surface area using electrical measurements taken at the film boundary. While EIT is a powerful means of mapping the sensing skin's spatial response, it requires a data acquisition system capable of taking electrical impedance measurements on a large number of electrodes. A low-cost wireless impedance analyzer is proposed to fully automate EIT data acquisition. The key attribute of the device is a flexible sinusoidal waveform generator capable of generating regulated current signals with frequencies from near-DC to 20 MHz. Furthermore, a multiplexed sensing interface offers 32 addressable channels from which voltage measurements can be made. A wireless interface is included to eliminate the cumbersome wiring often required for data acquisition in a structure. The functionality of the wireless impedance analyzer is illustrated on an experimental setup with the system used for automated acquisition of electrical impedance measurements taken on the boundary of a bio-inspired sensing skin recently proposed for structural health monitoring.
