A Comparative Study on Awareness of Environment Friendly Behavior and Barriers to Implementing the Actions between Students and Environment Teachers (환경친화적 행동과 실천 장벽에 관한 학생과 교사의 인식 비교)

  • This study was motivated to understand ways in which actors (students) perceived internal and external conditions of actions in determining responsibility of so-called environment friendly actions. To understand hidden reasons by which students conduct specific environmental actions more or less frequently may be more important and meaningful for environment teachers than to measure and know the frequency that their students do such actions. This study has been implemented by applying questionnaire survey to 752 ruddle school and high school students and 211 environment teachers. To test the hypothesis of this study that there would be significant differences in awareness of environment friendly actions and barriers to implementing those actions between students and environment teachers, frequency analysis and f-test have been conducted. Primary results of this study can be summarized as follows; It has been found that there were a number of evidences showing significant differences in awareness of environment friendly behavior between students and teachers. In term of action frequency, significant differences have been observed in 11 of the listed 20 actions. Similar resulted have been found in terms of perceived difficult, perceived effectiveness, and perceived guilty. These results seem to support an argument that the current list-making and checklist style of connecting students to so-called environment friendly actions need to be reviewed in a critical manner.

Analysis of Environmental Friendly Attitude and Environmental Knowledge on Pre-service Elementary Teacher (초등학교 예비교사의 환경친화적 태도와 환경지식 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to find out eco-friendly attitude and level of knowledge about environment of pre-service elementary teachers and find relationship between these. In this study, we investigate and analyse with surveys about eco-friendly attitudes and environmental knowledge questionnaire targeting the 2nd semester of 2013 32 people of fast stream class 2nd grade. Also, we analyzed correlation between environmental knowledge and the test results of eco-friendly attitudes. Results for the analysis are as follows. First, pre-service elementary teachers' average of eco-friendly attitudes test result is 'cognitive area(60.22)> definitional area(53.69)> behavioral area(52.72)'. These results are re-service elementary teachers are knowledgeable about the environment, but they are passive at the execution act about environment. Second, the average of pre-service elementary teachers' environmental knowledge result is the highest to the protect the environment, for the average(26.25). It is interpreted that they acquired the most the knowledge related to the conservation of the environment. Third, It is no significant correlation between pre-service elementary teachers' eco-friendly attitudes and environmental knowledge. It means that although they acquired a lot of knowledge related to the environment, it is not affected to environmental friendly attitude putting ideas into action about environment.

  • The study was designed to heap reduce daily household waste and promote the recycling of society's resources. the focus is on promoting environment-friendly activities and slevating a sense of nature-conscious domestic welfare, as well as providing wars to encourage garbage-savvy shopping, waste disposal by content and recycling. The thesis utilized demographic data obtained from 225 female homemakers and includes results based on frequency, ratio, mean, Duncan's Multiple range Test and Multiple Regression analysis. The main results are as follows: 1. Environmental consciousness appears to be higher than that of the adjustment of purchases to reduce waste and of recycling. Conversely more action seems to be taken on the waste disposal separation established since the launch of the volume-based waste collection fee system than on environmental education. 2. Homemakers with relatively higher environmental consciousness reciprocate with correspondent shopping habits, waste disposal eparation and recycling. Factors that influence daily waste reducing action include environmental consciousness homemaker employment status and the type of residence. 3. Activities reducing daily domestic wastes appear to effect a meaningful variable in explaining a sense of environmental welfare. The more respondents practice related shopping habits, waste disposal separation or recycling the more they recognize their living environment as desirable.

  • More recently, the ecocide like an environmental shocks of acid rain, oil spills and now the ozone layer have driven home the fact that we're all responsible for looking after our natural environment and threaten the our right to live. At such a situation enterprises has been to develop techniques of enhancing environment friendly design. However it is difficult to producing environment friendly product - especially at electronic product like a high accumulated thing and produced with a small amount - while they know the importance of environment. Because of a direct and actual disadvantage of enterprise and customer. Moreover it is rare and negative for physical point that an adaptation case of recycled material or natural one for designing. Therefore it is important to positive consideration and action of design process for the nature. In this paper the focus of interest is find out the active and real environmental friendly design practice scheme as a designer and understanding of basic of the environmental friendly design for a coexistence of the enterprise, customer, and environment.

  • As environment issues arise, environment-friendliness in convention industry has also been discussed. Guidelines are presented by government and convention organization to settle environment-friendly convention. However, these efforts focus on organizers and suppliers, lacking in understanding convention participants. This study tries to approach in perspective of convention participants to get useful information for environment-friendly convention. The research explores how they are aware of environment issues and accept environment-friendly convention attributes according to their cognition of environment. It also examines the relationship between those attributes and intention of participation according to their awareness of environment. The results shows that participants have high awareness about environmental issue and recognized high necessity for set up for specific action plan. They showed highest acceptance of venue followed by activity, transportation, food & beverage, and operation. High awareness group showed higher acceptance of environment-friendly convention attributes than low awareness group. 'Transportation', 'activity', and 'operation' among five attributes were examined to have significant effect on intention of participate environment-friendly convention in both groups.

  • With Increasing awareness towards environment-friendly and non-toxic pesticide azadirachtin obtained from neon tree (Azadirachta indica) is gaining more and more importance. Its broad-spectrum activity, Peculiar mode of action. eco-friendly and non-toxic action towards beneficial organisms has offered many advantages over chemical pesticides. All currently use commercial formulations based on azadirachtin contains azadirachtin extracted from seeds of naturally grown whole plants which is labour intensive process depending upon many uncontrollable geographical and climatic factors. Plant tissue culture can be a potential process for the pro-duction, offering consistent, stable and controlled supply of this bioactive compound, However the research on tissue culture aspects of production are in preliminary stage and requires culture and process optimization for the development of a commercially viable process. This review states the present status and future challenges of plant tissue culture for azadirachtin production.

  • As environmental issues have become a worldwide concern after the 20th century, the idea and the term of 'green growth development' has become familiar to the public. After 2008, the green growth development dramatically became an important ideology in Korea; thus industries, studies and product investments in relation are in active progress. Following the trend, the latter major unit of the middle school textbook "Technology & Home Economics" was named the revision of elementary, middle and high school textbooks in 2009. The learning goal of 'green' or 'eco-friendly' of the revised edition of the textbook will guide the middle school students to have better understanding of the issues of clothing habits and the environment. Furthermore, students will be able to apply the 'green' concepts in their real life and put eco-friendly clothing habits into action. Thus, the practice of effective learning will depend on the quality of the current issue of the textbook. Therefore this study analyzes the eco-friendly contents of the semi-unit from 7 different textbooks and presents an example of textbook production to the preliminary teacher of home economics.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the difference of environmental consciousness and its influence on the eco-friendly products purchase intention by the undergraduates' lifestyle patterns. The results of this analysis are as follows. First, the health orientation lifestyle of the undergraduates showed the high significant level to both cognition of environmental performance and environmental protection. However, both self pursuit and positive action lifestyle showing the low significant level were rejected. Second, the high environmental protection lifestyle of the undergraduates showed high significant level. This study shows that the health orientation lifestyle undergraduates are high environmental consciousness, and also they show high purchase intention of eco-friendly products.

  • In the COVID-19 crisis, the elderly over 60 have various psychological health problems such as depression, anxiety, and fear, and the community has become the only space for senior activities. To this end, this study presented a therapeutic aging-friendly community environmental design evaluation system using theoretical review, FGI interview, and hierarchical analysis AHP. The evaluation system is a three-dimensional space, with 10 upper layers and 68 lower layers. In addition, the weight of each index of the evaluation system was distributed through expert survey and SPSS program analysis. First, the material space environment design must satisfy the comfort and health of the elderly when they are active in a common space for their daily life. Second, the design of social space environment is designed to promote exchange and social connection among the elderly. Third, the operating space environment design considers the operating system of the community operating company as important. Through this, it is expected to improve the psychological health of the elderly by providing systematic technical basis and action guidelines for the development of the residential environment of the elderly.

  • Nature-friendly river project has became common practice in Japan. In order to make it available for the conservation and rehabilitation of desirable water environment, water criteria for water environmental assessment must be established. Especially, the criteria estimating the effects on ecosystem in and around river should be constructed. In this paper, classification method for water quality has been developed using biological indices and applied to observed data in Honmyo River, Nagasaki, Japan. Modified PI method (BI') has been suggested and those of three most abundant species resulted effective estimate for an overall water quality with comparatively simple procedure. Extensive database management code was prepared for the comprehensive ecological monitoring of river basin, which includes various biota. That system enables easy access of all the ecological data for a dissemination of a sound and sustainable water environment. The result of this study could improve knowledge base, serve making consensus for citizens, and help river management plans. In Japan, citizen's realization and action are the most critical factor for nature-friendly river restoration project.
