In this study, the concept of environmental-friendly architecture, where environment is importantly regarded as a design concept in modern architecture and the meaning of boundary are examined, To apply properly design methodologies along with the importance of environment, the concept of environmental-friendly architecture should be first correctly established. And as the recent rapid development of technologies provides new possibilities for environmentally-friendly architecture, it is needed to have a new boundary concept and the interpretation of the meaning of boundary differentiated from the one of existing architecture. Recently the meaning of boundary is expanding its range to the relations with its neighboring environment beyond the relations with in and out of a space and has also the role as a medium for exchange and communication instead of breaking-off. Therefore, the boundary of environmental-friendly architecture alongside physical boundary is extended to the area for communication. Here, a basic boundary of architecture is maintained, but its meaning and expressions get natural shapes. The study deals with the analysis of the concept of environmental-friendly architecture and its changes from the perspective of times, environment and social backgrounds and seeks its appropriateness centered on environmental-friendly architecture Since 1980s when the issues of human and environment were raised in earnest.

This study focuses on the design guidelines for planning and implementing the spatial characteristics in the living environment for the New Silver-Generation through the case analysis of "Serviced Residence", which has recently become very popular due to active demands for handy functions and services in flew Silver-Generation living environment. Nowadays, with relaxation of the phenomenon of lack of available houses, the focus of the construction market has shifted from builders to customers. Also, with the advent of the New Silver-Generation with money to spend to improve the quality of their lives, there has been high demand for living environment that provides high-quality services for comfort and convenience. Means to provide high-quality services for comfort and convenience in New Silver-Generation environment warrant much consideration, and hence the current study on Serviced Residence, which has become very popular has been taken up. This study on Serviced Residence will point out the problems found in the current Silver Residence environment and it will serve as an alternative for the living environment of the Silver Generation.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the school location decision direction for land use planning of public land development. And this research proposed the school location decision direction for urban amenity. So this research present the implication on urban planning and design for architecture, park-school complex. This study perform the relationship with land use planning out side environment of school land. This research proved the fact that the school land relationship with the park, the other school land etc. And this result will be used in decision-making-process of land use planning, public land development construction, urban design and city policy.

Recently Following changes in the airport industry, this study aims to investigate the relationship between physical servicescape elements, a travelers' enjoyment and/or anxiety, and traveler satisfaction in the airport environment context. Six airport service scape factorsd design, scent, functional organization, air/lighting conditions, seating, and cleanlinessd should be considered when evaluating traveler response. airport design features and pleasant scent have a positive influence on traveler enjoyment, generating satisfaction. This study also provides valuable implications for airport design, organization and development. By combining previous research on servicescapes and airport design, this study confirms the significance of servicescape attributes in transit service settings in Inchon international airport. The results of this study may help airport industry practitioners understand the airport environment from a passenger's perspective.

The People usually adapt themselves to circumstances and its changes. in some cases they are try to improve it for better comfortable living environment. However various factors such as a building's own character cultual symbolism cause some problems in creating interior environment because of inappropriate visual communication. It is general fact that the problems of visual environment objects have not been solved organically under the total environmental concept. In this paper I try to find out how graphic symbol sign system a visual transfer process between people and phsical environment facts work on creating interior environmental analysis current cases and propose a solution.

The purpose of this study was to analyze environment-behavior concepts included in environmental design characteristics of facilities for elderly with dementia. Major method was contents analysis of actual environmental designs. For comparison between the environment-behavior concepts and actual cases, an analytical framework was developed. Eleven cases of facilities designed for people with dementia were analyzed. Those were published ones in periodicals in USA. The analytical data used included floor plans, texts, and visual materials including photographs. Under the framework for analysis, a total of 296 criteria were used to analyze the actual cases of environmental design. This study was expected to offer a knowledge base for better environmental design for elderly with dementia and to help establish guidelines for designing such facilities which can meet the cultural characteristics and traditional conditions of Korea.

Recently, advanced information technologies have opened new possibilities for collaborative designs. In this paper, a web-enabled collaborative design environment is proposed, where the product data based on STandard for the Exchange of Product model data (STEP) is managed in a hierarchical database and the product metadata is used to efficiently search and utilize information scattered over the network. Several integrity constraints are depicted using EXPRESS to validate the combination of data from different sources. The knowledge represented as metadata and constraints on the interacting features differentiate this environment from previous ones. The collaborative conferencing system is also introduced to communicate and collaborate simultaneously among the related designed. As a result, the proposed environment allows the distributed designers to more efficiently obtain, exchange and communicate the design information throughout the design process.

This study is based on the Importance of home office in domestic environment in Korea. In recent years, the distribution of network environment at home has been changed rapidly Each family member uses home office for various purpose. The home office in domestic living environment become a part of common use for all family member. The purpose of this study is to set the framework of design direction in terms of system furniture for home office within the limitation of current standard space at home such as typical apartment - 30 pyeong, 40 pyeong. The first step of study is to understand user space and user needs through the user survey. The second step is to find the right location and plan of home office in domestic environment. The last is to suggest the integral system furniture and elements that fits to the various situations of location according to the space and user type.

Value of natural environment and the importance of conservation are augmented gradually, and collision of environment conservation and development are caused in various construction industries. In this study, Presented practical use way to ecological road design using vegetation information and high precision 3-dimensional geo-spatial data for minimizing pollution. Also, analyzed freezing danger of road surface in winter and direct ray of light danger through simulation of completed road and surrounding environment. And presented road design support way through view analysis.

This study aimed not only to analyze the trend of housing environment design through the advertisements for sale of apartments to be completed after 2006 but also to discuss the future trend of housing environment on the basis of the results of analysis. Building companies used to collect data were limited to those that ranked within the 30th place in the Construction Association of Korea's Contract Ranking from 2001 to 2004. The contens of advertisements appeared on their websites were used. The contents analyzed were also limited to 1) concept and method of design and 2) main advanced systems.
