An Empirical Research of Gender Impact on Customer Behaviour towards Mobile Entertainment Services in India

  • Mobile Entertainment is the new era in mobile communication. Mobile Entertainment service is a combination of games, music, videos, chatting and telecommunication which has created a wide market in India. There is a variation between male and female customers towards Mobile Entertainment services. This study is aimed at analyzing gender impact of attitude, subjective norm, perceived behaviour control intention and behaviour towards mobile entertainment services. The Theory of planned Behaviour (TPB) provided a framework. Total 566 male and 376 female mobile users of different age groups participated in the research. The data analysis was conducted in three-stages. First, reliability tests were performed. Upon satisfactory results, confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) is used to analysis convergent, concurrent and discriminant validity of the model. Once the model was validated Structural Equation Model (SEM) Multi-group analysis is used to find the impact of gender behaviour towards Mobile entertainment services. The results of the study confirmed that the model is viable in predicting variation in gender impact on mobile entertainment services. The findings have revealed that attitude, perceived behaviour control and intention has a significant impact on behaviour to use mobile entertainment but subjective norm has no significant impact on behaviour to use mobile entertainment.

A Study on the Selection Factors of Contents Service for the Popularization of AI Speaker based on AHP (AI Speaker 대중화를 위한 콘텐츠 서비스 선택 요인에 관한 연구 - AHP(계층화 분석)를 중심으로)

  • The domestic AI speaker market is growing into a full-fledged early audience market beyond the innovative consumer market with 3 million domestic supply units at the end of 2018, but the reality is that for various reasons, we are not satisfied with the use. There are many previous papers on AI Speaker, but the majority of research so far tends to be biased towards the acceptance of the device's own performance. Many changes are being made, such as OTT providers trying to secure the market through collaboration with AI speaker providers. This study tried to identify the priorities for content services, which can be another major selection factor for AI speakers, excluding the factors of unsatisfactory technology. First, this study identified the priorities among AI speaker selection factors using AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process), based on the AI speaker selection factors derived through literature research. The most important hierarchical factor are Concierge Service, Education Service, and Entertainment Service order in AI speaker selection, and the primary content among the individual factors was the one that ranked weather/temperature/fine dust (11.6%) and child caring content was in the second place (10.8%), and then music service was in the third place (9.8%). The three top priorities were derived from the items in the top tier 1, 2 and 3 priorities. Of the total 15 individual services, 6 sub-layers of Concierge Service (weather/temperature/fine dust, news, voice schedule notification) and Education Service (foreign language, toddler, reading books) were in the top 8, and two of the Entertainment Service Music service and movie service ranked third and sixth.

  • To attain competitiveness in the severe competition of retailing, retailing firm like Aekyung department store composites multiplex entertainment shopping mall with other firms as key tenants like LG supermarket, Books Libro, and CGV. But in multiplex entertainment shopping mall customers who have experienced a service failure in key tenant's shops usually ask a compensation of service failure to the lessor like department store. Even though customers of multiplex entertainment shopping mall know that key tenants use different service strategy, personnel management system and operation system and so on, they do not rare of it. Why they do that? How can we explain this situation? This study explains customer's complaining behaviors in multiplex entertainment shopping mall using attribution theory and justice theory. The study presents a comprehensive model about the effects of the perceived attribution and fairness on customer satisfaction and suggests practical implications for retailing firms composing multiplex entertainment shopping mall.

A Study on the pattern of tenant layout in the Urban Entertainment Center (도심 엔터테인먼트 쇼핑센터(UEC)의 테넌트 배치 형태에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the pattern of tenant layout for selected cases of five different Urban Entertainment Center(UEC) in Seoul. This research deals with the process of gaining tenant layout pattern of 40 different types. It is composed of three combination unit with tenants of the same or different consumption mode, which is divided into four different functions of retail, entertainment, dining, and service. Then, every tenant of research cases is classified as one of the fabric type, and the data is analyzed to gain its frequency rate with SPSS 14.0 program. The following is the overall explanation of the result for this research. The frequency of tenant layout pattern between the same consumption mode shows the high rate when compared to the other patterns with different consumption mode. For example, the frequency rate of tenant layout pattern which retail and dining consumption mode are placed side by side like RRR and DDD is high. Interestingly, the frequency rate of RRR type of tenant layout pattern that sells the similar products shows especially high level. It can provide the effective environment for shoppers to compare retail goods in many different stores as producing synergic effects when they are located near each other, so this strategy should be considered when planning tenants in UEC environment. Moreover, in case of dining tenants, when they are clustered together in the UEC environment it can play a role as an anchor tenant. Tenant layout pattern of dining-retail and dining-service consumption mode shows the high frequency rate than other layout pattern with other consumption mode. Besides, entertainment consumption tenants combined with dining or retail tenants show the high frequency rate when compared to the pattern combined with service consumption mode.

  • Korean entertainment companies like SM entertainment, YG and JYP contribute enormously to the recent K-pop fever. They expand their businesses aggressively to foreign markets which has been successful. This paper seeks to find out their precise strategies to succeed in the global market. Our study focus on SM entertainment which manages successively in the Asian market. As a result, one of their successful strategies on the global market is localization. They rearrange a group with in the members to suit into the local market : for instance, Super Junior, representative boy group, has rearranged and reformed to Super Junior M (mandarin), Super Junior happy (for Japan market), etc. Coopration with SNS (Social Network Service) is another successful strategies of SM Entertainment : page views of K-pop on Youtube achieved more than 0.8 billion in 2013. Furthermore, for marketing, many members play an advertizing model for global products.

Identifying Retail Entertainment Elements: A Preliminary Analysis by Consumer Responses (리테일 엔터테인먼트 요소 구별: 소비자 반응에 의한 탐색적 분석)

  • This study attempted to provide preliminary information for retailers to identify viable entertainment elements and to select and develop the optimal mix of entertainment elements for target consumer groups. The study examined consumer responses to various retail entertainment elements and analyzed differences in responses by consumer characteristics. The index of retail entertainment elements was developed with 49 items including entertainment facilities, dining facilities, retail, service facilities, store atmosphere, and marketing mix. The results from respondents' perceived excitement and visit intention for each entertainment element generally showed higher responses to basic marketing mix and store atmosphere elements rather than to entertainment and dining facilities. There were significant differences in responses by gender and age. The results imply that selection and application of retail entertainment elements need to consider target consumer characteristics.

The Experimental Study on the Toxic Gases Released from the Floor Finishing Materials in Entertainment Service Industry Buildings (다중이용시설 바닥마감재의 연소가스 독성평가에 관한 실험 연구)

  • The several floor finishing materials that widely used in entertainment service industry buildings were evaluated according to the method of NES 713. Also, toxic gases of floor finishing materials in combustion without air flow rate were checked as concentration of fire gases variation according to time using gas analyzer. We had estimated the smoke hazard of floor finishing materials in fire. As results of gas analyses using the method of NES 713, toxic index of samples was estimated range of 2~9.7. Therefore, a large amount of toxic gases will release from a floor finishing materials fire and connoted great smoke hazard in fire.

Utilization of SNS Review Data for a Comparison between Low Cost Carrier and Full Service Carrier (SNS 리뷰데이터의 활용 : 저가항공사와 대형항공사를 중심으로)

  • There exist a number of studies pertaining to the determinants of customer satisfaction between low-cost and full-service carriers in the airline industry. Most studies measured service quality using SERVQUAL based on a survey method. This study offers a new perspective by employing a big data analytic approach using SNS data, which reflects the immediate response of customers as well as trends in real time. This study chose eight factors from TripAdvisor's customer review site as determinants of customer satisfaction and compared the differences between low-cost and full-service airlines. The factors analyzed were seat comfort, customer service, cleanliness, food and beverage, legroom, entertainment, value for money, and check-in and boarding. Additionally, ratings from domestic and foreign customers were compared. The findings show that customer service and value for money are significant factors in satisfaction with low-cost airlines while all variables except legroom and entertainment are significant for full-service airlines. The results show that SNS-based data and analysis of big data are important for improving decision-making effectiveness and increasing customer satisfaction in the airline industry.

Background and Facility Characteristics of Service Attached Elderly Housing in Japan (일본 서비스제공 고령자주택의 도입배경 및 시설 특성)

  • Purpose: This study tries to explore and analyse Service Attached Elderly Housing of Japan in order to prepare new elderly housing type effectively for aged society of Korea. Service Attached Elderly Housing was introduced in 2011 and it includes existing elderly housing of Japan such as Designated Elderly Housing, Elderly Friendly Housing and Superior Elderly Housing. Methods: Historical transition of Japanese elderly housing and background of the introduction of Service Attached Elderly Housing have been reviewed first. Thereafter research team visited to 3 elderly housings of Japan providing elderly services such as elderly care, meal, cleaning, washing, safety check, entertainment, etc. Based on the literature survey and field trip, the characteristics of Service Attached Elderly Housing have been drew out. Results: As the characteristics of Service Attached Elderly Housing of Japan, mixed use facility, community based housing, generation mix, barrier free design, and provision of daily life service for the elderly have been identified. Implications: Not only physical consideration including Universal Design but also elderly services such as elderly care, meal, housework, safety check, entertainment and so on are necessary for the supply of elderly housing.

Effects of Information Search Motivations on Perceived Service Quality of Image Search and Use Intention (패션 정보검색 동기가 이미지 검색서비스 품질 지각과 이용의도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study aims to investigate the effects of fashion information search and innovativeness of consumers on service quality of image search. Furthermore, it focuses on exploring the effect of image search service quality on use intention. Data of mobile-friendly consumers in their 20s and 30s was collected in September 2021 via an online survey. Finally, 300 samples were used for the data analysis. First, motivation for information search in fashion was divided into four factors: information, relation, leisure, and entertainment motivation. Furthermore, service quality of image search was divided into four factors: accuracy, convenience, customization, and aesthetics. Second, regression analysis was conducted to evaluate the effect of fashion information search motivation on service quality. As a result, it was found that information, relation, and entertainment motivation except leisure motivation had significant effects on all factors of service quality. Third, fashion innovativeness had no significant effect on aesthetics while consumer innovativeness significantly influenced all factors of service quality. Fourth, accuracy, convenience, and aesthetics had a significant effect on use intention.
