  • The photvoltaic power system has received considerable attention as the petroleumalterative energies to the environmental problems in the wored scale. $CuLnSe_2$is one ofthe most promising materials for the fabrication of large-area modules and low cost photovoltaic devices. Sulfur solute CuInSe2 thin films were prepared by RF sputtering using powder targer which were previously compacted by powder of $Cu_2Se, \;In_2Se_3, \;Cu_2S, \;and\;In_2S_3$ in various ratios. The results induicated that the sulfur ratio, the(112) texture, and the energy band gap were increased by the increase of the S/(S+Se) that was controlled by stoichiometric compound. The energy band gap can be shifted from 1.04eV to 1.50eV by abjusting the S/(S+Se) ratio, which maich it possible to obtain perfect match to the solar spectrum.

  • The most important parameter of organic molecules for energy harvesting application focuses mainly on their band gap (HOMO-LUMO). In this report, we synthesized differently substituted 1,3,5-triazine based organic molecule which on future processing can be used in organic electronics like solar cells and OLED's. The energy gap of the synthesized novel analogue was calculated using cyclic voltammetry, UV-Visible spectroscopy and compared with density functional theory (DFT) studies.

  • We analysed perovskite $CH_3NH_3PbI_{3-x}Cl_x$ inverted planer structure solar cell with nickel oxide (NiO) and spiroMeOTAD as hole conductors. This structure is free from electron transport layer. The thickness is optimized for NiO and spiro-MeOTAD hole conducting materials and the devices do not exhibit any significant variation for both hole transport materials. The back metal contact work function is varied for NiO hole conductor and observed that Ni and Co metals may be suitable back contacts for efficient carrier dynamics. The solar photovoltaic response showed a linear decrease in efficiency with increasing temperature. The electron affinity and band gap of transparent conducting oxide and NiO layers are varied to understand their impact on conduction and valence band offsets. A range of suitable band gap and electron affinity values are found essential for efficient device performance.

  • CFD analysis including optimization process was conducted to design shell and tube CO2 methanation reactor cooling system. The high-pressure saturated water flowed into the cooling system and was evaporated by heat flux from reacting tubes. The optimization process decided the gap between tubes and reactor diameter to satisfy objective functions related to temperature. The results showed that the gap and diameter reduced about 30% and 3.6% respectively. Averaged surface temperature satisfied the target value and the min-max deviation was minimized.

  • Experimental study on the fluidelastic instability (FEI) of a curved tube bundle in single phase downward cross flow is investigated for the design qualification and analysis input preparation of helical coiled steam generator tubing. A 6×9 normal square curved tube array with equal and different vertical/horizontal pitch-to-diameter ratio was under-tested up to 6 m/s in term of gap flow velocity to measure the critical velocity for FEI. The critical velocity for FEI was measured at the turning point from the vibration amplitude plot along the gap flow velocity. Our test results were compared with straight tube results and published data in the design guideline. The applicability of the current design guidelines to a curved tube bundle is also assessed. We found that introducing frequency difference in a curved tube array increases the critical velocity for fluidelastic instability.

  • Korean-made alloys 600 and 690 tubes were evaluated by flare tests according to ASTM standards, and acting stresses during the test ore analyzed. All the tubes, including alloys 600 and 690 tubes with various heat treatment conditions, satisfied the requirement with 30 or 35750.D expansion. Axial stresses in alloy 690 tubes were higher than those in alloy 600 ones and the gap increased gradually with flaring percentage(F.P, %). Assuming the tubes as the rigid-perfectly plastic body, a stress equation was obtained using modified Tresca's yield criterion. Also microstructural change of the flared tubes was discussed with the acting stresses.

  • Particle displacement distributions of the fundamental mode and overtone modes in an energy-frapped single resonator and an energy-trapped double acoustically coupled filter using the thickness shear vibration were calculated. And the effects of the width of a pair of partial electrodes, the width of the gap between two pairs of partial electrodes and the magnitude of the plate back on the displacement distributions of the symmetric vibration mode and anti-symmetric vibration mode of the resonators and the filters were investigated.

  • A thermionic energy converter test station is constructed for the study of electromagnetic energy generation. Of particular interest is the frequency variations due to changes in the interelectrode gap, the electrode temperature, and the cesium vapor pressure. It is found experimentally that the most intense ratio-frequency(rf) oscillations occur at two non-overlapping regions.
