  • Environmental pollution has become a serious worldwide problem the humans has encountered in several decades. On the respect of the preservation of the global environment, world-wide consensus to cope with this problem was represented as 1992's Rio Declation. The purpose of this study is to develope evaluation technique of ecological architecture. The environmental scores of the buildings are evaluated and improved from the building design phase in order to build the best environmental building. Ecological architecture is mainly based on the balance of three element : Nature, Humanity, and Cost saving. Its main goals are energy saving and recycling, resource saving, high contact with circumstances, and health & amenity.

  • In order to improve the energy efficiency of ships, this study designed an energy saving system (ESS) algorithm suitable for ship operation characteristics, and analyzed energy consumption patterns based on the operation characteristics of ships equipped with specific systems. Therefore, we intend to study techniques that can reduce the cost of operation. To this end, we intend to study to implement an efficient system that can increase energy efficiency that reflects the characteristics of the propulsion system of the ship based on the power generation system. The vessel to be researched is intended to conduct research on HVACS (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) mounted on LNG carriers, and based on this, it has energy with scalability to be applied to future-based vessels such as electric propulsion ships and autonomous ships. I would like to propose a savings technique.

  • The increase in the amount of energy used in the agricultural sector due to the expansion of agricultural machinery and greenhouse horticulture has caused a range of problems, such as an increase in the cost of input, such as heating costs and greenhouse gas emission. To overcome these problems, this study examined the current status of energy use in greenhouse horticulture as well as the change patterns of non-taxable oil and agricultural electricity, and reviewed the current status of the supply of renewable energy and energy saving facilities for agriculture. This study investigated the area of advanced and renewable energy and energy saving facilities implemented, applied the energy saving ratio of advanced and renewable energy and energy saving facilities, and determined the effects of renewable energy in the agricultural sector, such as increase in production, decrease in heating cost, reduction in Government financial expenditure, reduction in greenhouse gas emission, and oil substitution effect.

  • This paper presents a novel soft-switching PWM utility frequency AC to high frequency AC power conversion circuit incorporating boost-half-bridge inverter topology, which is more suitable and acceptable for cost effective consumer induction heating applications. The operating principle and the operation modes are presented using the switching mode and the operating voltage and current waveforms. The performances of this high-frequency inverter using the latest IGBTs are illustrated, which includes high frequency power regulation and actual efficiency characteristics based on zero voltage soft switching (ZVS) operation ranges and the power dissipation as compared with those of the previously developed high-frequency inverter. In addition, a dual mode control scheme of this high frequency inverter based on asymmetrical pulse width modulation (PWM) and pulse density modulation (PDM) control scheme is discussed in this paper in order to extend the soft switching operation ranges and to improve the power conversion efficiency at the low power settings. The power converter practical effectiveness is substantially proved based on experimental results from practical design example.

  • The electric demand increase, financial need for new power plant constructions and environmental problem have led to search for more efficient energy production and energy conservation technology. To minimize the construction of power plants and reduce total power consumption include installation of inverters to motors used for pumps and fans. However, the high price of Inverters is the biggest obstacle to their wide use. Accordingly, to maximize the effect of energy saving by the expanded use of inverters, governmental economic support as well as the analysis of energy saving effect.   • This paper presents the evaluation procedures and the estimation method for the estimation of optimal rebate level for EE(Energy Efficiency) programs. The penetration amount of each appliance is estimated by applying price function to preferred diffusion model resulted from model compatibility test. To estimate the optimal rebate level, two objective functions which express the maximum energy saving and operation benefit are introduced and by multi-objective function which can simultaneously consider two objective functions the optimal rebate level of each appliance is estimated. And then, using the decided rebate level and each penetration amount, the priority order for reasonable investment of each high-efficiency appliance is estimated compared to the results of conventional method. Finally, using a benefit/cost analysis based on California standard practice manual, the economic analysis is implemented for the four perspectives such as participant, ratepayer impact measure, program administrator cost and total resource cost.

  • Trend of mechanical ventilation system applied to apartment house is introduced and feasibility study on installation of the individual room control ventilation as energy-saving method is carried out through field experiment. While initial cost of installation for the individual room control ventilation increases, the running cost is lower than the individual household control ventilation due to automatic flow rate control and reduction of fan power, and the management cost also decreases due to extension of use life of components. As the results of field experiment on $115m^2$-type apartment house, the individual room control ventilation could save the amount of 1,459.5Wh/day when compared with the individual room control ventilation
