Analyzing Effective Factors on Hydrogen Release Based on Response Surface Method and Analysis of Variance (반응표면법과 ANOVA 기반의 수소 누출에 대한 유효인자 분석)

  • While hydrogen is widely used, it has a low minimum ignition energy, raising safety concerns when using it. This research studied which parameters are the key variables in the hydrogen release and diffusion. These parameters were divided into six process variables in the initial release and two environmental variables in the dispersion. One hundred and twenty cases were selected through design of experiment, and the end-point in each case were analyzed using PHAST. Afterwards, an end-point prediction model was developed using RSM and ANOVA, and the impact of each variable on the endpoint was analyzed. As a result, the influence of eight variables was graded. The nozzle diameter had the greatest influence on the end-point, while the pipe roughness coefficient had no effect on the end-point. It is expected that these results will be used as basic data to improve safety across all fields of hydrogen handling facilities.

Eating Quality Traits of Hanwoo longissimus dorsi Muscle as a Function of End-Point Cooking Temperature

  • Interaction between carcass quality grade and end-point cooking temperature on eating quality of Hanwoo m. longissimus was investigated. Ten (10) of steers were sampled from a commercial population; carcasses with QG 1++ (n=5) and QG 1 (n=5) were chosen. Samples were cooked by electric oven at 60 or 82℃ and compared with uncooked control samples. The pH was not affected by cooking temperature but decreased the redness after cooking and steaks cooked at 60℃ were more reddish than steaks cooked at 82℃ in both QG groups. Higher cooking temperature greatly (p<0.05) increased the cooking loss, but there was no significant interaction between cooking temperature and QG on the cooking loss. Moisture is negatively correlated with temperature in both QG while the proportionate relationship between crude fat and end-point temperature found in QG 1++. WBSF values were significantly (p<0.05) high for QG 1, while that was significantly (p<0.05) increased when the temperature continues to increase. The increasing quality grade of beef resulted in significant higher (p<0.01) level of TBARS and cooking temperature increased TBARS content. Fatty acid composition was not altered by cooking at both temperatures and also the amount of fat intake was not changed. The current study indicates that eating quality of beef m. longissimus was greatly influenced by end-point temperature being interacted with QG. However, the amount and composition of fat were stable regardless of end-point temperatures. These results will provide a consumer reference to determine cooking conditions and intramuscular fat content.

  • In this paper, we describe the optimization of the link-level performance and the complexity of floating-point and fixed-point methods in IEEE 802.16e OFDMA/TDD mobile modem. In floating-point design, we propose the channel estimation methods for downlink traffic channel and select the optimized method using computer simulation. So we also propose efficent algorithms for time and frequency synchronization, Digital Front End and CINR estimation scheme to optimize the system performance. Furthermore, we describe fixed-point method of uplink traffic and control channels. The superiority of the proposed algorithm is validated using the performances of Detection, False Alarm, Missing Probability and Mean Acquisition Time, PER Curve, etc. For fixed-point design, we propose an efficient methodology for optimized fixed-point design from floating-point At last, we design fixed-point of traffic channel, time and frequency synchronization, DFE block in uplink and downlink. The tradeoff between performance and complexity are optimized through computer simulations.

  • An intergral equation is derived for surface current distribution of cylinders with end cap using quasistatic approximation method. The moment method is applied for numerical solution. Point matching method using Cubic B-spline function as a basis function, delta function as a weighting function is applied for moment method. And also, the influencial relation in accordance with structural variation is analized in case of spheroidal end up cap type and flat type.

  • In the point-to-point motion on servo system, the control mode which minimizes the performance index including, the impact of end point, time and energy, is proposed. The proposed control mode applied to the feed-back control system of D.C motor and then had a computer simulation. This control mode had less the impact of end point, stedy state error, time and energy than the bang-bang or the saturating- proportional control mode.

A Study on Structural Design of Torsion Beam Rear Suspension (토션빔 후륜 현가장치의 구조설계에 관한 연구)

  • Structural design of the torsion beam rear suspension is investigated by calculating warping of the torsion beam. Since the longitudinal displacement in the cross section of the torsion beam due to torsional moment causes normal stress across the beam restrained from outside at both ends, the profile of torsion beam needs to be designed considering the warping. Warping function of the beam is derived with the parameters of cross section fur the arbitrary shapes of torsion beam profiles assuming thin-walled open section. From comparing the warping calculated for two different beam profiles, the design method for the torsion beam in the view point of low stress is discussed. It is shown that the gusset used to reinforce the torsion beam can be optimized in accordance with warping shape. The method to fix the end point of the gusset is proposed to minimize the stress concentrated on the end point of the gusset produced during torsional moment. The result from finite element analysis shows the stress is minimized when the height of gusset end point is coincident with the point where warping of the beam is minimized.

  • An optimized space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) method with common mode voltage elimination and neutral point potential balancing is proposed for an open-end winding induction motor. The motor is fed from both of the ends with two neutral point clamped (NPC) three-level inverters. In order to eliminate the common mode voltage of the motor ends and balance the neutral point potential of the DC link, only zero common mode voltage vectors are used and a balancing control factor is gained from calculation in the strategy. In order to improve the harmonic characteristics of the output voltages and currents, the balancing control factor is regulated properly and the theoretical analysis is provided. Simulation and experimental results show that by adopting the proposed method, the common mode voltage can be completely eliminated, the neutral point potential can be accurately balanced and the harmonic performance for the output voltages and currents can be effectively improved.

  • In a modern control field, a control engineer who has theoretical backgrounds with some practical knowledge is demanded. That is to say, an engineer who can understand and operate the various parts such as modeling, simulation, system analysis, signal processing, statistics, and hardware is required. In order to prove the theoretical backgrounds and operate various hardwares, a lot of experimental devices for students are designed in universities. Since the conventional experimental devices are manufactured abroad and the prices of the devices are too high, it is difficult to have. If a low cost experimental device can be developed, it will be very useful for a control engineering education. In Ibis paper, an experimental rig which has two control inputs and three sensor outputs to control the end point of a flexible beam is designed and manufactured. This rig can be used for a control field education.

  • This paper presents an end-point position control of 1-link flexible robot arm by the PID self-tuning fuzzy algorithm. The governing equation is derived by the extended Hamilton's principle and based on the Bernoullie-Euler beam theory. The governing equation is solved by applying the Laplace transform and the numerical inversion method. The arm is mounted on the translational mechanism driven by a ballscrew whose rotation is controlled by dcservomotor. Tip position is controlled by the PID self-tuning fuzzy algorithm so that it follows a desired position. This paper shows the experimental and theoretical results of tip dispalcement, and also shows the good effects reducing the residual vibration of the end-point.

  • In this study, the rise throughput and the stability in fabrication of device can be obtained by applying of CMP process to STI structure in 0.l8um semiconductor device. Through reverse moat pattern process, reduced moat density at high moat density, STI CMP process with low selectivity could be to fit polish uniformity between low moat density and high moat density. Because this reason, in-situ motor current end point detection method is not fit to the current EPD technology with the reverse moat pattern. But we use HSS without reverse moat pattern on STI CMP and take end point current sensing signal.[1] To analyze sensing signal and test extracted signal, we can to adjust wafer difference within $110{\AA}$.
