펄스파워를 이용한 현장타설말뚝의 지지력 특성 (Bearing Capacity of In-situ Pile Installed using Pulse Power)

  • In the past decades, complain about ground vibration and noise induced by pile driving has been quickly increased. Because of that, auger drilled piling methods have frequently used specially in urban area. However, the present auger drilled piling methods induce inevitable ground disturbance as well as a certain degree of vibration and noise due to the final hammering. For these reasons, a new auger drilled piling method is required to be developed. This paper introduces PDT(Pulse Discharge Technology) piling method and presents the characteristics of bearing capacity. The PDT piling method is to install in-situ piles using electric power so called Pulse. The pile installed by PDT appears to be able to develop shaft and end bearing capacity efficiently.

  • The Smart bi-directional pile load test with variable end plate overcomes the shortcoming of the Osterberg cell test. It is possible that the ultimate bearing capacity of piles can be known by using two different end plates. The first step is to measure end bearing capacity with smaller end plate and the second step is similar to the conventional O-cell test. In this study, model test was performed to evaluate the smart bi-directional pile load test in sand. Vertical displacement of the model pile were messured at the axial loading condition.

정재하시험 결과를 통한 타입말뚝 지지력 공식의 타당성 분석 (A Study on the Applicability of Bearing Capacity Formulas of Driven Pile by Comparison with the Results of Static Loading Tests)

  • Piles are structural elements made of steel, concrete or timber, and utilize as pile foundation which is one of deep foundations. Driven pile among them, which drives pile into the ground, is fast-constructable, less expensive and it supplies much bearing capacity. For these reasons, its demand is steady. In this study, by selecting the cases which reached ultimate failure during in-situ static loading tests, bearing capacities acquired from these tests were compared with those computed by existing theories and formula. As the results of the analysis, ultimate bearing capacity computed by theoretic formula were less or similar to those of test results in most cases, but lower ground water level and more dense layer where end of piles were reached remarkably high bearing capacity in theoretical methods. ${\beta}-method$ and Korean structure foundation design standard were sensitive to ground physical properties. Meyerhof metbod and API code were relatively independent from site condition.

표층처리공법으로 개량된 초연약지반의 지지력산정방법에 관한 연구 (A Study for Bearing Capacity Calculation Method of Very Soft Ground with Reinforced Surface)

  • This study, as basic research which was intended to develope the surface reinforcement method using reinforcement material which is applicable to very soft ground in Korea, was aimed at proposing the design parameter for the surface ground improvement method. To that end, a wide width tensile test using geotextile, geogrid and steel bar (substitute for bamboo) and 49 kinds of the laboratory model tests were conducted. And the result the study suggested $\beta_s$, the stiffness coefficient to evaluate the stiffness effect of reinforcement materials. Then, it was also found that the stiffness coefficient, $\beta_s$ as the testing constant would be appropriate as high as 1.0, 1.1 and 1.5 for geotextile, geogrid and steel bar, respectively. And It was evaluated that the stiffness effect affecting reinforcement improvement effect would be reduced as the thickness of embeded depth increases and that RFe, the stiffness effect reduction coefficient would have positive correlation with H/B. Finally, it was confirmed that the bearing capacity gained from the method to calculate bearing capacity, which was suggested in the study, would almost correctly estimate the capacity, demonstrating the appropriateness of the proposed bearing capacity calculation method.

  • Lineal and angular movements of many engine components make the lubricant absorb air and the aerated lubricant greatly influences the clearance performance of contacting behaviors of engine components such as big-end bearing, cam and tappet, etc. This study investigates the behaviors of aerated lubricant in the gap between con-rod bearing and proceeding which is one of the most frictional energy consuming components in the engine. Our assumption for the analysis of aerated lubricant film is that the film formation is influenced by the two major factors. One is the density characteristics of the lubricant due to the volume change of lubricant by absorbing the bubbles and the other is the viscosity characteristics of the lubricant due to the surface tension of the bubble in the lubricant. In our investigation, it is found that these two major factors surprisingly increase the load capacity in certain ranges of bubble sizes and densities. Frictional forces are also influenced by the aerated bubble size and density, which eventually enlarge the shear resistance due the surface tension, Modified Reynolds' equation is developed for the computation of fluid film pressure with the effects of aeration ratio under the dynamic loading condition. From the calculated load capacity by solving modified Reynolds' equation, proceeding locus is computed with Mobility method at each time step.

현장타설말뚝의 정재하시험에 의한 지지력과 이론식에 의한 지지력과의 비교 (The Bearing Capacity Comparison of Drilled Shaft by the Static Load Test and the Suggested Bearing Capacity Formulas)

  • 항타말뚝은 진동과 소음같은 환경적인 문제점이 있다. 특히 대상 토질이 자갈, 호박돌, 풍화암으로 구성되어있다면 항타말뚝의 적용은 불가능하기 때문에 우리나라에서는 현장말뚝의 적용이 증가하고 있는 추세이다. 일반적으로 이론적인 공식에 의한 현장타설말뚝의 지지력은 과소하게 산정되는 것으로 알려져 있다. 본 연구에서는 기존에 제안된 국내외 지지력 산정식과 현장시험을 통한 실측데이터를 비교하기위해 광안대로와 수영 3호교의 암반에 근입된 현장 타설말뚝에 대한 정재하시험을 수행하였으며, 현장타설말뚝의 주변마찰력을 측정하기 위하여 변위계를 설치하였다. 현장시험을 통한 현장타설말뚝의 거동은 반복하중 재하시 완전한 탄성거동을 보였으므로 이는 실제말뚝의 극한지지력에 도달하지 못하였음을 입증한다. 이때 측정된 말뚝의 지지력이 이론식에 의하여 산정된 지지력보다 크게 산정되었다. 또한 실험에서 측정된 결과에 의하면 현장타설말뚝의 주된 지지력이 선단지지력이 아닌 주변마찰저항에 의한 것이라는 것을 보였다. 그리고 이와같은 결과에 의거하여 현장타설말뚝의 설계에 대한 몇가지 제안들을 도출하였다.

풍화암에 근입된 선단확장형 PHC 말뚝의 선단지지력 (End Bearing Capacity of Pile Tip-enlarged PHC Piles in Weathered Rock)

  • 매입공법으로 시공되는 PHC 말뚝의 선단지지력 증진 방안으로서 선단에 선단확장판을 설치하여 선단 확장을 통해 선단지지력을 증가시키는 개념(일명 Ext-PHC 말뚝)이 개발되어 현장에 적용되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 Ext-PHC 말뚝의 선단지지력 증가 효과를 확인하고 현장 적용성 검토의 일환으로 직경 400mm 말뚝에 대한 현장재하시험을 실시하였으며 검증된 유한요소해석 모델을 이용하여 다양한 조건에 대한 매개변수 연구를 실시하였다. 현장재하시험 결과를 분석한 결과 Ext-PHC 말뚝의 선단지지력은 PHC 말뚝 대비 약 $40{\sim}50%$ 증가되는 것으로 나타났으며 다양한 변수에 대한 매개변수 결과에서는 선단 지지층의 역학적 특성과 말뚝 길이에 따라 일반 PHC 대비 선단지지력 증가비는 $1.2{\sim}1.4$ 정도를 보이는 것으로 분석되었다. 이러한 연구결과에 근거할 때 본 연구에서 고려한 시공조건에 있어 Ext-PHC 말뚝을 적용함으로써 일반 PHC 말뚝의 선단지지력 증진 효과를 확보할 수 있는 것으로 나타났다.

S.I.G 공법으로 선단보강된 강관말뚝의 지지거동 (The Behavior of Bearing Capacity of Steel Pipe Piles Reinforced by Super Injection Grouting at Pile Tip)

  • Reinforced twice than width of foundation with SIC under steel piles drived in cohesion soil and in the coal-limestone which heavily fractured. To analyze behaviour characteristic of steel piles, load transfer test was performed to steel piles attached with strain gauges to axial direction. After it passed 49days, dynamic load test was performed to set-up effect of steel piles bearing capacity. The results of test were compared to each other. According to the results, as the skin friction of steel pile was on the same condition, end bearing capacity of steel piles established on SIC solid of cemented milk in cohesion soil was three times than steel piles established on SIG solid of cemented milk in heavily fractured coal- limestone. After piles were driven and passes 49days, in case of piles on SIG solid of comented milk in cohesion soil the increaes of allowable bearing capacity was 442.9% and allowable bearing capacity of piles on SIG solid of cemented milk in heavily fractured coal-limestone increased 22.4%.

Small- and large-scale analysis of bearing capacity and load-settlement behavior of rock-soil slopes reinforced with geogrid-box method

  • This paper presents an investigation on bearing capacity, load-settlement behavior and safety factor of rock-soil slopes reinforced using geogrid-box method (GBM). To this end, small-scale laboratory studies were carried out to study the load-settlement response of a circular footing resting on unreinforced and reinforced rock-soil slopes. Several parameters including unit weight of rock-soil materials (loose- and dense-packing modes), slope height, location of footing relative to the slope crest, and geogrid tensile strength were studied. A series of finite element analysis were conducted using ABAQUS software to predict the bearing capacity behavior of slopes. Limit equilibrium and finite element analysis were also performed using commercially available software SLIDE and ABAQUS, respectively to calculate the safety factor. It was found that stabilization of rock-soil slopes using GBM significantly improves the bearing capacity and settlement behavior of slopes. It was established that, the displacement contours in the dense-packing mode distribute in a broader and deeper area as compared with the loose-packing mode, which results in higher ultimate bearing load. Moreover, it was found that in the loose-packing mode an increase in the vertical pressure load is accompanied with an increase in the soil settlement, while in the dense-packing mode the load-settlement curves show a pronounced peak. Comparison of bearing capacity ratios for the dense- and loose-packing modes demonstrated that the maximum benefit of GBM is achieved for rock-soil slopes in loose-packing mode. It was also found that by increasing the slope height, both the initial stiffness and the bearing load decreases. The results indicated a significant increase in the ultimate bearing load as the distance of the footing to the slope crest increases. For all the cases, a good agreement between the laboratory and numerical results was observed.

SPT 에너지효율 측정 롯드를 이용한 매입말뚝의 선단지지력 예측 (Prediction of End Bearing Capacity for Pre-Bored Steel Pipe Piles Using Instrumented Spt Rods)

  • 국내외에서 널리 사용 중인 표준관입시험(Standard Penetration Test, SPT)은 작업의 용이성, 다양한 지반정수와 강도정수를 결정방법 등의 장점을 지니고 있다. 이러한 SPT 수행시에 발생하는 해머 에너지는 N치의 산정 및 보정에 매우 중요한 영향인자가 된다. SPT시험시 해머 타격에 의하여 롯드로 응력파가 전달되는 현상이 말뚝 항타 시에 발생하는 현상과 동일하다하여 SPT에 PDA장비를 적용하여 관입에너지를 측정하는 방법이 개발되어 사용 중에 있다. 본 연구에서는 SPT 롯드를 말뚝으로 가정하여 SPT 에너지 효율 측정롯드를 SPT시험과 동적콘관입시험에 적용하여 얻어진 힘과 속도의 파형을 매칭기법(CAPWAP, CAse Pile Wave Analysis Program) 분석을 수행하여 매입말뚝에 대한 극한선단지지력을 예측하는 기법을 제안하였다. 또한, SPT 에너지 효율 측정롯드에서 예측된 선단지지력과 실물 말뚝정재하시험을 통하여 산정된 선단지지력을 비교분석하였다. 연구결과를 토대로 SPT나 동적콘관입시험을 통하여 매입말뚝의 지지력을 간편하게 예측할 수 있는 경험식을 제시하였다.
