Investigation of Job satisfaction, Organizational commitment and Factors of continuing work life for Nano-convergence employees

  • In this paper, we analyzed the relationship between employment stability, wage level, welfare system, working condition, job satisfaction and organizational commitment in order to find out ways to develop and competitiveness of the nano-convergence industries. Through this study, we conducted the possibility of deriving organizational commitment by job satisfaction which is given through employment stability, wage level, welfare system, and working condition for continuing their work life. In order to find relationships between each concepts, we used a multiple regression analysis with job satisfaction and commitment as dependent variable and employment stability, wage level, welfare system, and working condition as independent variables. Through this study, it was expected to increase the organizational commitment through the job satisfaction of the employees if a changing method of employees management is centered on some tasks suggested for the sound working condition and efficient utilization policies.

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the link between job satisfaction and organizational commitment at higher education institutions (HEIs) in emerging countries such as Vietnam and to determine extrinsic work factors that influence job satisfaction. Higher education is critical for socio-economic growth and the overall development of each country. Hence, an understanding of what motivates employees' actions and attitudes should be obtained before determining the extent of employee satisfaction. The conceptual model was developed by incorporating job satisfaction-related variables, their relationships, and the impact of job satisfaction on organizational commitment. An empirical study was conducted on a study sample of public and private universities, with 316 academics and non-academic employees surveyed. The current study employed the partial least squares structural equation modeling to test the proposed hypotheses. The results reveal a positive and significant relationship between job satisfaction and organizational commitment. The findings confirm that extrinsic work factors (job itself, supervision, working conditions, payment, and reward and recognition) have a positive and significant relationship with job satisfaction. Furthermore, the study indicates that employees at HEIs who have a high level of ability utilization and supervisor support are more likely to be satisfied with their jobs.

  • 미용 산업은 다른 어떤 산업보다도 미용종사자의 전문적인 노동에 의존하고 있다. 이러한 미용종사자는 고객과 직접 접촉하고 지극히 세심한 배려를 요하는 서비스업으로 서비스의 접점에 있는 종사자의 행복감은 미용 산업의 성장에 가장 중요하다고 할 수 있다. 따라서 미용종사자의 회복탄력성, 행복지수, 직무만족 분석을 통해 고객의 만족만을 강조하는 서비스 산업에서 서비스업의 성공여부는 서비스 종사자를 통해 이루어 질 수 있다는 새로운 패러다임을 제시하고자 했다. 본 연구에서 미용종사자의 회복탄력성과 행복지수 및 직무만족도의 상관관계를 가설을 통해 검증해본 결과 미용종사자의 회복탄력성은 행복지수와 직무만족에, 행복지수는 직무만족과 회복탄력성에, 직무만족은 회복탄력성과 행복지수에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 결국 개인의 행복이 증대되면 직무에 대한 만족이 증대되고 직무의 성과도 높아지게 되므로 미용 산업의 발전을 위해서는 미용인의 행복을 증진시킬 수 있는 방안에 대한 고려가 필요할 것으로 보인다.

서울.강릉지역 초등학교 급식소 종사원의 직무만족도 조사 (A Study on the Foodservice Worker's Job Satisfaction in Elementary School Foodservice Systems Located in Seoul and KangNung)

  • The purposes of this study were to determine the degree of job satisfaction of school food service employees in Seoul and Kangnung areas and to compare their job satisfaction with 3 types of school foodservice systems. Questionnaires to measure job satisfaction were mailed to 13 elementary schools in Seoul and 15 elementary schools in Kangnung and detailed informations were collected from 28 dieticians and 140 employees. Foodservice employees' job satisfaction was evaluated by measuring employee's job attitudes towards five aspects of their. job using the modified Job Description Index (JDI). Statistical methods used in this study were $\chi$$^2$-test, 1-test and one-way ANOVA analysis. The foodservice workers surveyed in this research were found to be more satisfied with their interpersonal relations with co-workers than with work content, pay and promotional opportunities. The average overall scores for dieticians and foodservice employee were 113.17${\pm}$44.48 and 111.5${\pm}$37.22, respectively. Dieticians were found to be more satisfied with their job than the foodservice employee. The foodservice employee's demographic variables including age, work experience and education were significantly related to the job satisfaction.

Job Satisfaction and Organizational Commitment of White Collars: Focus on Job Title

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of education & training and organizational culture on job satisfaction and organizational commitment and then examine the difference that would appear depending on the job title in the case of Korean employees in the manufacturing industry. Research design, data, and methodology - Our sample consisted of 1,013 administrative employees in the manufacturing industry with data extracted from the 4th Human Capital Corporate Panel (2011) survey. Descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis were conducted. Results - Results showed that education & training had positive effect only on job satisfaction while organizational culture had positive effect on both job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Components under education & training (duration of the formal learning, efficacy of formal learning and efficacy of informal learning) and organizational culture (equity, communication, talent recognition, innovation) that were found to be affecting job satisfaction and organizational commitment revealed to be different depending on the hierarchical position of the employee. Conclusions - Different approach and policy for each group of job title could be considered in order to increase job satisfaction and enhance organizational commitment of the employees.

초등학생 급식 만족과 조리종사자 직무 만족간의 관계 분석 (Relationship between Students' Foodservice Satisfaction and Foodservice Employees' Job Satisfaction at Elementary Schools)

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between student's foodservice satisfaction and foodservice employee's job satisfaction at elementary schools. The survey was conducted on 5th and 6th grade students and foodservice employees at 19 elementary schools in Gwangju, Gyeonggi. Statistical data analysis was completed using SPSS ver. 17.0 for descriptive analysis, frequency analysis, independent sample t-test, and ANOVA. Students were highly satisfied with 'variety of menu' (3.78) and 'food taste' (3.75). The healthy group and no plate waste group showed significantly higher satisfaction levels on seven items, except 'sanitary utensil', as compared to others. Foodservice employees had high levels of satisfaction with human relationships and their jobs, but they were dissatisfied with their wages. Older employees had a high level of satisfaction with 'relationship with a dietitian' (P<0.05), whereas employees with a low level of education exhibited higher 'respect and reflection of his/her opinion on the duty' (P<0.01) and 'current duties' (P<0.05) as compared to others. The group with higher student satisfaction showed significantly higher employee job satisfaction for 11 items, including 'cooperation with co-workers' (P<0.01), 'relationship with a dietitian' (P<0.05), and inversely, the group with higher job satisfaction exhibited significantly higher student foodservice satisfaction for all nine items. Therefore, foodservice satisfaction and job satisfaction have a mutually positive influence on each other.

리더의 코칭이 조직구성원들의 직무만족과 직무몰입에 미치는 영향: 자기효능감의 매개효과를 중심으로 (Impact of Leader's Coaching on Employees' Job Satisfaction and Job Involvement: Focusing on Mediating Effect of Self-efficacy)

  • 본 연구에서는 리더의 코칭이 조직구성원들의 직무만족과 직무몰입에 미치는 영향에 대하여 주된 연구 초점을 두었으며 자기효능감을 중요한 매개변수로서 설정을 하였다. 이를 위하여 우선적으로 리더의 코칭, 자기효능감, 직무만족, 직무몰입에 대한 이론적 논의들을 기초로 하여 연구모형과 가설들을 설정하였으며 총 20개 기업으로부터 얻어진 296명의 데이터를 실증분석에 활용하였다. 탐색적 요인분석과 확인적 요인분석을 통해 타당성 검증이 이루어졌으며 구조방정식모형 결과를 바탕으로 가설들을 검증하였다. 연구결과를 살펴보면 리더의 코칭은 조직구성원들의 자기효능감에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며 직무만족과 직무몰입에 대하여서도 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 자기효능감은 리더의 코칭과 직무만족간의 관계 그리고 리더의 코칭과 직무만족간의 관계에서 유의한 매개변수로서의 역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다.

2008-2017 패널분석 결과에 나타난 개인-직무 적합성과 직무만족 간의 관계 (A Study on the Relationship between Person-Job Fit and Job Satisfaction shown in the Panel Data for 2008-2017)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of person-job fit, which consists of educational fit and skill fit, on employees' intrinsic job satisfaction. To the end, the 10-year balanced panel data of the Korean Labor and Income Panel Study(KLIPS) by the Korea Labor Institute (KLI) for 2008-2017 are utilized. This study analyzes 12,730 observations by 1,273 employees by using fixed effect model, random effect model, and pooled OLS estimation method. The empirical results are as follows: First, it is founded that educational fit and skill fit seem affect job satisfaction positively. Second, the negative effects of over-education are clear and the negative effects of under-education are unclear, while the effects of over-skilled and under-skilled are insignificant statistically. Third, the results imply that the size of effect of over-education on intrinsic job satisfaction is larger than that of the effect of over-skilled. Forth, it is shown that the use of fixed effect model is more effective and trustworthy than that of random effect model and pooled OLS estimation method, implying that the effect size of coefficients which are estimated by pooled OLS method and random effect model are likely over-estimated. The empirical results above imply that firms and employees should focus on solving over-education issue before all in order to enhance employees' job satisfaction and it is needed to monitor regularly whether systemic job assignment process is done based on the employees' educational attainment and skill level and to provide more chances for job re-allocation and job rotation.

Conceptual Framework for the Relationships among Job-Training Satisfaction, Job Satisfaction, and Turnover Intention in Foodservice Operations

  • The current study investigated the interrelationship among job-training satisfaction, job satisfaction, and turnover intention in foodservice operations. The findings suggested that the more satisfied employees were with their job training the more likely they were to be satisfied on their job. Furthermore, improving employees' job satisfaction led to lower turnover intention. However, job-training satisfaction by itself did not prove to have a negative relationship with turnover intention. Implications of the findings and future research are discussed.

  • 본 논문은 정규직과 비정규직을 대상으로 기술다양성, 직무정체성, 직무중요성, 자율성, 피드백과 같은 5가지 직무특성을 고려하여 그들의 직무만족도틀 비교 분석함으로써 직무특성과 고용형태에 따라 직무만족이 다르게 나타나는지 살펴보고자 하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 직무특성 중 기술다양성, 직무정체성, 자율성은 직무만족에 정의 영향을 미지는 것으로 나타났고 직무중요성과 피드백은 직무 만족에 부의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째 정규직과 비정규직의 직무만족은 서로 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 고용형태에 따른 직무만족이 조직의 효과성을 증진시키는데 있어서 직무특성요인별로 조직구성원들을 관리해야 할 필요성을 인식하는 계기가 되었으며 효율적인 조직관리에 있어서 새로운 방향성과 지침을 제시하였다.
