Design of A Force-Reflecting Device and Embedded Controller

  • It is well understood that force reflecting coupled with visual display can be an important two-way communication channel in human-computer interaction. In this work, important components for a high-fidelity system bandwidth are force reflecting device and that all the computations including contact determination and response computation have to be performed in less than a millisecond. This paper describes a force-reflecting device and an embedded controller. The realized force-reflecting device is based on a novel serial type mechanical structure, and features compactness, high sustained output force capability, low friction, zero backlash, and enough workspace. The embedded controller reduces software computational load via main processor and simplifies hardware strictures by the time-division control. The device is integrated with existing dynamic simulation algorithms running separate workstation, so that objects can be manipulated in real time and the corresponding forces felt back by the operator.

  • This paper is concerned with the H2 attitude controller design for 3 degree of freedom (DOF) Hover systems with an event-triggered mechanism. The 3 DOF Hover system is an embedded platform for unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) provided by Quanser. The mathematical model of this system is obtained by a linearization around operating points and it is represented as a linear parameter-varying (LPV) model. To save communication network resources, the event-triggered mechanism (ETM) is considered and the performance of the system is guaranteed by the H2 controller. The stabilization condition is obtained by using Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals (LKFs) and some useful lemmas. The effectiveness of the proposed method is shown by simulation and experimental results.

  • This paper describes the development of software platform of embedded controller for Fuel Cell System. The fuel cell system is complex which needs an embedded controller to execute multiple tasks. The software organized by modualarization and layered architecture can perform complicated control algorithms. By development of the software platform with architectural software, the fuel cell system's embedded controller has a reusability and a scalability. And the developed software platform guarantees a execution of multiple tasks.

  • In this paper, a steering feel simulator is designed and implemented using a steering wheel with a rotation angle sensor, torque sensor, and an ac motor for the generation of the required torque. The controller in the simulator consists of a 16-bit micro-controller, a D/A converter and A/D converters. The main objective of the controller is to perform torque control where the reference torque is calculated from the torque map for both the vehicle velocity and the wheel sensor cutout. It is shown via the experimentation using the proposed simulator that the simulator output performance can be easily understood for the variation of vehicle parameters or controller parameters.

  • In this paper, We design a RF control system capable of handling multiple POS thermal printers. The system has three parts including embedded master controller, RF controller and high-speed thermal printer. Specially the designed linux embedded controller has simple structure and high performance to connect the TCP/IP network. The effectiveness of the developed RF control system is shown by proposed food ordering system.

  • 원격 모니터링 시스템 위한 실장형 리눅스 지능형 제어기를 구현한다. 실장형 리눅스 지능형 제어기의 하드 코어는 32비트 cpu로서 구성되었고 실시간 모니터링과 FFT을 수행 할 수 있도록 설계되었다. 그리고 모니터링 시스템은 자바에 의한 인터넷과 GUI 환경에서 수행되도록 설계되었다. 상세설계와 기능적 해석을 시스템 기반에서 수행되었다.

  • This paper proposes the Embedded Linux System that can overcome the shortcomings of conventional CNC machine system. Linux is free of charge with the open source library and tools that can be used in the development of Kernel. Besides, Application is easily available through countless open source, allowing simple mending for seamless porting.   • 기존의 임베디드 시스템 장비는 간단한 메뉴화면, 배경화면 등의 디스플레이 환경을 제공하였다. 하지만, 임베디드 시스템 장비의 사용범위가 점차 확대대고, 사용자의 요구가 증가되면서 멀티미디어 콘텐츠 및 동영상의 지원 여부가 장비의 주요 성능으로 부각되고 있다. 하지만 기존 임베디드 시스템 장비에서는 소프트웨어로 디스플레이 환경을 구현하므로 멀티미디어 콘텐츠 및 동영상 지원에 대한 충분한 데이터 전송 대역을 확보하기 어려우며 메인 프로세서의 실행에 많은 부담을 주어 시스템 성능을 저하시키는 주요 원인이 되었다. 본 논문에서는 임베디드 시스템에 적합한 OLED/TFT-LCD 컨트롤러 모델을 제안하고 이를 Verilog-HDL을 이용하여 설계하여 기존의 임베디드 시스템 장비의 디스플레이 성능과 비교 평가한다.

임베디드 리눅스를 이용한 산업용 인버터의 웹 기반 원격 관리 (Web-Based Remote Management of Industrial Inverter using Embedded Linux)

  • Driven by the growth of the Internet and the increasing ubiquity of embedded computing systems, the embedded system is exploding in terms of it proliferation of products and the number of complex applications. Intelligent dedicated systems and appliances used in interface, monitoring, communications, and control applications increasingly demand the services of a sophisticated, state-of-the-art operating system. In the case of industrial controller, it is required to use a real-time operating system (RTOS) as a good building block to enable Internet connectivity. However, commercial RTOSes are increasingly less desirable due to their lack of standardization and their inability to keep pace with the rapid evolution of technology. In order to overcome these problems, we consider using embedded Linux and embedded web server. Availability of source code, reduced licensing, reliability, open source community support, as well as others, are key reasons for the use of embedded linux by embedded developers. In this paper, we develop embedded linux platform to control the industrial inverter with the Internet connecting feature. The method of web-based management is also proposed by using the embedded web server and Java applet. We show the feasibility of remote management for the commercial inverter controller with the proposed three-tier web-based remote management system.
