  • Although various information and communication technologies occupy a place in daily life in the face of the fourth industrial revolution, the contents related to information security in elementary and secondary education courses are mainly related to personal information protection, and the contents and countermeasures of rapidly changing security threats are low in textbooks, and they are far behind the changes. To improve this, this paper suggests that education contents related to information security are included in elementary school real and middle school information textbooks, educational contents related to wireless network and PC security are included to cope with rapidly changing security threats that may arise from the age of the Internet of Things, non-face-to-face classes, and case-based information ethics education can be organized to eradicate curiosity about hacking. Through this paper, we will help prevent information security accidents by establishing basic security measures on our own and strengthening security awareness in the information age.

  • With more emphasis on importance of software, many countries try to provide software education. Of course Korea includes informatics courses in 2015 revised curriculum, so that software education will be administered briskly in soon. However there are practical challenges including a lack of teaching hour in classes and the monotony of educational contents which occurs with that. To solve these problems, this research develop software education curriculum model that could be practically used for both middle and high school. First this study compare the curriculum of Korea to that of United States and United Kingdom. After analyzing the result, the curriculum model for middle and high school is developed. The curriculum model can be classified into three types, middle, high and advanced-high levels and include key concepts like collaboration and convergence, computational thinking, computing practice and programming, computers and communications devices, community, global, and ethical impacts. To assess the feasibility of our software education curriculum model, examination was made by expert group and a hearing was held by related researchers. Then the model was modified in a way that adjustable to Korea education system. This study provides some important guidances on designing a curriculum for software education at middle and high school. However, there still are difficulty adjusting to the elementary school and university course. To be able to further research, same kind of studies on elementary school and university course need to be done. Also, continuous modifications are required to reflect reality including technological advance, curriculum, and changes of education system.

It's goal is practice in regular class time of the subjects for the time and contents of health education in the 7th elementary curriculum. The total class periods of health education of the 7th elementary curriculum are 229 hours and annual periods of health education per year are an average of 38 hours. The health education of the 7th elementary curriculum is separated into the 9 following subjects: Wise life, Pleasant life, Righteous life, We are 1st grade, Physical education, Science, Social studies, moral education and Practical course. The health education of the 6th elementary curriculum was combined with the units of physical education, but in the 7th curriculum it must be separated by a single, required health subject. The contents of health education of the 7th elementary curriculum is mostly dominated by units of community and environmental health with a total of 55 hours (24%). Therefore, the units of home health and social health, development of physical strength are fairly insignificant. The newly added contents in the 7th curriculum are "pregnancy and child birth, the protection and counterplan from rape, the reasons and prevention of stress, the reasons and the treatment of obesity, the damage of smoking and drinking, etc. According to the result above, we must establish the criteria for each year's health education in the 8th elementary curriculum. The contents of mental health, home health and social health should be revised and added new items. The health education that is separated in some subjects now must be established as a systematically integrated health education.

  • This study was carried out to reduce children's sugar, natrium and fat intakes and establish their healthy lifestyle. To achieve these goals, we developed an educational web site and an e-learning system. The targets of this web site are children, parents and educators. This site has various information about sugar, natrium and fat, and has special menus for each target: such as the 'Let's study' for children, 'Guides for child's eating' for parents, and 'Educational softwares, Lesson plans/materials, and Textbooks/Teaching guides' for educators. We developed three nutrient characters and applied them to the web site. We provided information in the form of texts, images, flash and sounds. This site has special boards in 'Nutrition cafe' menu to interchange information or their successful stories between the connecters. We developed an e-learning system with two courses. One is for junior elementary students and the other is for senior students. Children can study each nutrient step by step in a course according to their academic ability and concern. Also, they can evaluate their academic achievement in this system, which was uploaded into 'Let's study' in children menu in the web site. Conclusively this web site and e-learning system could contribute to reducing children's sugar, natrium and fat intakes by helping children study them systematically and effectively by on-line system. We expect this e-learning system would be a new nutrition education system to make nutrition education more active.
