초등학교 여학생의 브레지어 착용실태에 관한 연구 (A Study on Brassiere Wearing by Elementary School Girls)

  • The object of this study was to help designing of well-fit and comfortable brassieres for the elementary school girls through the survey on actual condition of wearing brassieres. The subjects of investigation for this study was the elementary school girls in the province of Jeonbuk and Taejeon city. The conclusion of this study was as follows; The 40.2% of the total subjects were wearing brassieres like the 63.3% of the fourth, the 85.4% of the fifth, and the 89.7% of the sixth grade students. The main reason of non wearing brassieres was for the underdeveloped breast, and also that of wearing brassieres was for the good shape of the breast. The main types of brassieres were ranked "Tank Top type", "Mold type", and "Adolescent girl-Bra". They had started to wear brassieres by the recommendation of adults who were their mother or teachers, and usually wearing brassieres all day. They usually purchased brassieres "with mother together" or "only by their mother". The standard of choosing brassieres was also ranked by FASHION, CONVENIENCE, SIZE, TOUCH, and SWEAT ABSORPTION. The total score of satisfaction for wearing brassieres was showed "Average score" and the score higher in Jeonju and Taejeon than in Kunsan. The higher grade and fatter was showed decreasing the score of satisfaction. The higher grade became, the more various for the size and preferable a pure cotton fabric for brassieres. The favorite types of brassieres were "Sport Bra" and "Volume-up Bra". They usually purchased a little larger size than their original size of that.

학령기 여아의 손 치수 및 구조요인 분석 (The Size and Structural factors of The Korean Elementary School Girls' Hands)

  • In the current study, we measured the hands and other representative body items of 223 elementary school girls using Martin Anthropometer and a digital camera so that we would be able to provide information on both size and shape of hands for design of hand-related products. As time goes on, hands get bigger, yet they get thinner at the same time. The data implies that the frame of hands grows, but the skin fat lessens, which could be a determinant factor in the size system of hand-related products. According to the results of a factor analysis on 26 hand items, 5 factors including hand laterality and linearity, fingertip shape, finger breadth, and hand depth, have been extracted. Pearson's correlation showed that most of hand-related factors were strongly associated with other body items. Finger breadth and hand depth, however, were found less related to other body items. The ANOVA test used in testing the difference of hand factors showed, in most items, a difference by ages, but there was no significant differences in fingertip breadth, the third factor, Interestingly, in hand depth, the fifth factor, lower grade girls' hands were thicker than higher grade girls'. This research suggests that the size system of uniformly increasing the size of all hand parts by age groups should be reconsidered and leaves much for improvement.

성장기 소녀의 초경에 따른 비만도 및 성장 발달 비교 (Comparison of Obesity and Growth Development in Menarcheal and Nonmenarcheal Girls)

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the growth development between age-matched 51 postmenarcheal girls (mean age 153.1$\pm$5.8 month) who were rapidly maturing and 51 premenarcheal girls (mean age 153.1$\pm$5.7 month) who were slowly maturing. Anthropometirc measurements were taken for height, body weight, body fat(%), waist and hip circumferences of subjects. These measurements of menarcheal girls were significantly higher than those of nonmenarcheal girls. There was no significant difference in BMI distribution between two groups. However, 43.2% and 20.0% respectively in the menarcheal and nonmenarcheal girls had body fat levels of 30% or above. There were significant differences in the anthropometric measurements during past 4 years from 3rd grade elementary school to present. The greatest difference between the two groups were the amount and the rate of increased height and body weight from age 9 to 10. Among menarcheal girls, height, body weight, BMI, and Röhrer index were positively related to the onset of menarche. Distinctively, there was a stronger relationship between age at menarche and anthropometric measurements when the girls were 5th grade elementary school children. These findings support that during childhood and puberty, obese girls grow faster and have earlier menarche. Furthermore, the importance of prevention of obesity was recognized in order to accelerate growth of height among the girls by delaying the age of menarche.

광주지역 근시안경 착용 초등학생의 굴절상태와 사위 및 단안PD에 대한 조사 (The Examination of Refractive Correction and Heterophoria and Monocular Pupillary Distance on Myopic Elementary School Children Wearing Glasses in Gwangju City)

  • 목적: 광주지역에서 근시안경 착용 초등학생을 대상으로 착용안경의 굴절상태와 사위 및 단안PD 상태를 파악해 보고자 한다. 방법: 근시안경 착용 초등학생 145명(290안)을 대상으로 사위 및 단안PD 검사 후 자각적 타각적 굴절검사를 실시하였다. 결과: 1. 양안 2.00D이상 굴절성부등시에 해당되는 학생은 4명(3%)으로 나타났다. 2. 남학생 저교정 시력 19명 중 부등시는 9명(47%)이며 여학생 저교정 시력 25명 중 부등시는 16명(64%)으로 나타났다. 3.67명의 근시안경 착용 남학생중 동공중심과 안경의 광학중심점이 일치된 안경은 30%(양안), 동공중심과 광학중심점이 불일치된 안경은 70%(양안)이다. 78명의 근시안경 착용 여학생의 경우 동공중심과 안경의 광학중심점이 일치된 안경은 23%(양안), 동공중심과 광학중심점이 불일치된 안경은 77%(양안), 동공중심거리와 안경의 광학중심점 거리는 남녀 모두 안경의 광학중심점 거리가 더 크게 나타났다. 4. 사위검사결과 원거리에서 정위가 14%, 외사위는 63%, 내사위는 23%이다. 근거리에서 정위가 10%, 외사위는 76%, 내사위는 14%로 나타났다. 결론: 부정확한 굴절 검사와 잘못된 PD로 안경을 착용하면 안정피로 및 사위를 유발시킬 수 있기 때문에 정확한 굴절검사와 단안PD를 측정하여 안경을 착용 하는 것이 좋을 것 같다.

울산지역 학령기 아동의 영양소 섭취 및 기호도 조사 (Nutritional Status and Food Preference of School Children in Ulsan)

  • This study was intended to provide basic information for nutrition education and meal planning by evaluating the nutritional status, food habits, and food preference of elementary school children with school lunch program and without school lunch program(lunch box). The subjects of this study consisted of 266 elementary school children aged from 10 to 12(136 male, 130 female) in Ulsan the area. The survey was conducted by questionnaires and data were analyzed by SPSS program. The average body weight was $38.4{\pm}6.9kg$ for boys and $36.8{\pm}7.4kg$ for girls and the average heights was $141.3{\pm}5.6cm$ for boys and $141.2{\pm}5.7cm$ for girls. These values were lower than that of the Korean reference. 56.0% of the subjects skip breakfast 1 to 2 times a week, 58.2% of the subjects had prejudice for special food, such as bean, anchovy, and pork. The food habit scores of the subjects was divided into poor(11.7%), fair(63.5%), and good(24.8%). The average score of girl's was significantly(p<150) higher than that of the boy's. Compare to 1/3 of RDA for children, the average intake of nutrients provided lower amounts of all nutrients. Therefore Calcium and vitamin A intakes were especially lower than the others. Therefore the importance of milk and green vegetables must be emphsized to them through nutrition education. Children preferred ssalbab to jabkogbab and liked beef-based soup, and baechu kimchi. There were significant differences in food habit scores with gender, parent's education, and exercise. The results of this study indicate that nutrition education and menu planning program should be applied to elementary school children who are served by the school lunch program.

As in language, the dress is the symbol and form of non-verval communicator its wearer by means of the mentalistic semantics. Also it is to analyze meanings of dress by applying the semantics of Geoffrey Leech. The followings are the findings of the analysis 1. The conceptual are the findings of the analysis 2. The social meaning is indicating the feminine image. 3. The offective meaning is indicating the aesthetic value.

초.중.고등학교 학생, 학부모, 일반교사의 보건교육 요구 (Needs of Health Education of Students, Parents, and General Teachers in Elementary, Middle, and High Schools)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify needs of health education of the students, parents, general teachers, and health teacher of the elementary, middle, and high schools. Method: 279 schools of elementary, middle, and high school were sampled nonproportionally during the period from June 28 to July 26, 2004 The data were collected by the questionnaire from 1,888 students, 1,876 parents, 1,695 general teachers, 279 health teachers. A frequency, % and $x^2-test$ were used to analysis by SAS program. Result: 1. It showed that 98.1% of elementary school students, 92.3% of middle school students, 89.6% of high school students answered that they need health education. The most of students, parents, and general teachers had high interests in health education. 2. In the case of students, main causes of needs of health education was 'to prevent diseases or accidents'. But parents answered that it was 'to build up a healthier behavior'. General teachers answered that it was 'more effective systematic and continuous health education'. 3. Over 80% of students, parents, and general teachers about the question of who qualified person is to teach health education as a regular class responded that health teacher is available. Especially 93% of elementary school students answered like that. 4. The most of students, parents, and general teachers answered that health education in the classroom is favorable 1 to 2 hours per week. Conclusion: As results of the study, the majority of students, parents, general teachers agreed needs of health education. Therefore, on the basis of this study, systematic and continuous health education is necessary. Additionally the establishment of independent health subject is required certainly.

경기도 지역 초, 중, 고등학교의 외관 색채계획 경향에 관한 연구 - 현상설계 당선안을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Tendency of Exterior Color Design for the Elementary, Middle and High Schools in Gyeonggi-do - Focused on the Prizewinner of the Competitions -)

  • Recent color plans in school buildings are made by experts through public offerings for prizes for designs etc in relatively many cases. But it is necessary to review if such color plans are actually well conform to students' emotions and what trend the color plans made as such have. Therefore, this study examined and analyzed the exterior colors of the school buildings planned by public offerings for prizes for designs and reviewed the result comparing to the color preferences of students that had already been studied to figure out the differences between existing theories and the realities. And it was examined what differences were existing in the trends of color plans and color images examined between each of school levels. The result of the study compared to theories is as follows. First, when the color distributions were reviewed for each school level, it could be confirmed that the overall distributions moved from Y category to B category and whereas warm colors were more widely distributed and the number of colors were greater compared to cold colors in case of elementary schools, the distributions of warm colors gradually decreased as school level moves to high schools. Second, the color use distributions of elementary school students were revealed to be more diversified than middle and high school students and also the number of colors used was 9.5 in average in elementary school and middle schools and high schools were similar to each other with average 5.86 colors in middle schools and 6.33 colors in high schools showing a little differences in color use distributions among school levels of elementary schools, middle schools and high schools. Third, in case of elementary schools, except main colors, both of subsidiary colors and emphasizing colors had the distributions of warm colors of R, YR, Y categories and cold colors of B, PB categories and this is also consistent with the results of existing research results indicating that low grade students prefor for warm colors and high grade students prefer for cold colors. Fourth, in case of middle schools and high schools, although the distributions of warm colors decreased, the distributions of warm colors and cold colors were revealed to be similar. This is considered to be consistent with the existing research results indicating that girl students prefer for warm colors even if their ages go up. Fifth, as for the images of main colors, subsidiary colors and emphasizing colors resulted from the comparisons by solid color Image Scales and adjective Image Scales, first, in case of main colors, natural images or clear images appeared the most in all of elementary schools, middle schools and high schools indicating that basically calmness is emphasized with soft images rather than hard images and static images rather than dynamic images. Also, in case of subsidiary colors or emphasizing colors, cheerful images or splendid images are also seen to decrease as school level goes from elementary schools to high schools in adjective Image Scales and this is considered to reflect the color sentiment differences between children and juveniles based on ages.

서울지역 초등학생들의 보건의사소통 요구도 특성 : 학교 건강관련 행사를 중심으로 (School child health communication activity needs in Seoul : Focused on school-based health fairs)

  • The purpose of this study was to describe elementary school students' health communication needs based on school-based health fairs by students' demographic characteristics and school health education experiences. A self-administered survey was conducted to a total of 851 fifth-grade students in 8 elementary schools in Seoul. For survey participant sampling, Seoul area was divided into four districts: north, south, east, and west, and two elementary schools were selected from each district by the stratified convenient sampling process. Three class 5th-grade students in each selected school finished the survey. Questionnaires and survey instruction letters were delivered to vice-principals in the designated schools and the vice-principals managed the survey process. The survey Questionnaire included demographic characteristics (sex, parent's marital status, parents' educational status, famil financial status, the person whom was with after school, and daily computer hour), health education experiences (health education at school, and school health education satisfaction), and health communication types. The health communication types were reorganized into eight types based on comprehensive literature review on health fairs (or child and adolescence. The health communication types were 'health exam and advice fair,''health promotion advertising and campaign,' 'health-related exhibition and experience fair,' 'profession visit-in-school education,' 'health-related VCR or movie festival,' 'health-related institute visits,' 'internet health counseling,' and 'telephone health counseling.' Regarding demographic characteristics, sex, family financial status, and academic performance were significant factors related to health communication need scores (p <.05). Girl, high level of family financial status, and excellent academic performance score were related to high score of health communication need. In terms of school health education experience, taking regular class for health education and satisfaction with school health education were linked to higher health communication need scores. This result discusses that experience and satisfaction with school health education largely contribute to building participants' health communication concepts and needs.

경북지역 일부 초등학생의 비만도에 따른 생화학 검사치와 식습관 (The Differences of Biochemical Status and Dietary Habits according to the Obesity Degree among Obese Elementary School Students in the Gyungbuk Area)

  • The prevalence of obesity in children has steadily risen during recent years in developed countries. Child obesity has become a major concern to health providers since it has grown to epidemic proportions over the past few decades. This study was conducted to investigate the biochemical status, dietary habits and life styles according to the obesity degree among obese children residing in the Gyungbuk area. The subjects were 148 elementary school students (boy 103, girl 45) and classified as mildly obese (n = 56), moderately obese (n = 61) and severely obese (n = 31) by the obesity index. The average body weight and height increased significantly according to the obesity degree (p < 0.05, p < 0.001). Serum cholesterol concentration came under the normal level in all groups. Serum AST activity increased according to the obesity degree but it was not significant. Serum ALT activity increased according to the obesity degree (p < 0.05). Dietary habit score was lower significantly according to the obesity degree (p < 0.01). Life style of the subjects was significantly different for the level of 'healthy state (p < 0.05)', 'body perception (p < 0.01)', 'watching TV and video (p < 0.05)', 'normal sleeping hour (p < 0.05)' and 'degree of stress (p < 0.05)' according to the obesity degree. A positive relationship between obesity index and blood pressure, ALT has been shown in the subjects. Obesity index and dietary habit scores were negatively associated. Therefore, these results suggest that a practical nutrition-exercise education program for the prevention of child obesity should be provided to elementary school children.
