2-phenyl-N-methyl-1,3-thiazolium perchlorate(PTP)derivatives were synthesized via addition and substitution reactions. PTP was hydrolyzed under aqueous hydrochloride. The structures of the compounds were conformed by N.M.R.,I.R., and elemental analysis.

In this paper, the elemental components and improving purpose in advanced safety management system are reviewed to cope with a railway fire accident. And a considering procedure(V-cycle) of long-term plan for railway fire safety improvement is proposed. For the purpose of preventing recurrence of accident, items which have to be considered in the course of accident investigation and cause analysis are presented according to the stage of investigation activity.

The iron and copper chelates of 4-dimethylamino-2-formylpyridine thiosemicarbazone, one of the amine substituted derivatives at 4-C of 2-formylpyridine thiosemicarbazones which are known as the more improved potential antitumor agents, have been synthesized to make them more effective than the ligand (denoted as HL) itself. Their ligand-to-metal ratios were 2:1 and 1:1 for the iron and copper chelates, and the data along with those of elemental analysis and IR spectroscopy showed that. the compositions are [$FeI_{2}{\times}2H_{2}SO_{4}$ and [CuL($H_{2}Cl$O)], respectively.

Eight derivatives of arylpropionic acid, arylcarbonylpropicnic acid, and arylhydroxybutyric acid were synthesized and their structures were elucidated on the basis of elemental analysis and spectral data. Also their antiinflammatory activities were evaluated by the method of the inhibitory effect on the carrageenin-induced rat paw edema and compared with phenylbutazone. Compound (I) exhibited 59% edema inhibition vs control when 100 mg/kg, was orally administered, whereas phenylbutazone showed 57.8% for 50mg/kg.

Carbamates are generally used as insecticide, thus 8-hydroxy-5-chloroquinolinyl-N-ethylcarbamate was newly synthesized. Its physical properties were determined and chemical structure was identified by means of IR, nmr in addition to elemental analysis. The effect of the compound on rat's ileum, and antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella typhi, E. coli, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa were examined. It was observed that the dosage over 100 $\mu$g/ml of the compound relaxed rat's ileum and the same dosage of the compound inhibited growth of the above strains of bacteria.

We present the high-resolution spectroscopic study of the red-giant branch (RGB) stars in the peculiar globular cluster M22 (NGC 6656). We obtained high-resolution spectra of 55 RGB stars using the CTIO 4-m telescope and the HYDRA multi-object spectrograph. By employing an improved LTE analysis method, we measured accurate elemental abundances. In this talk, we will discuss the differences in the chemical composition between the two stellar populations in the context of the formation of M22.

Cyanopyridone was prepared by the condensation of cyanoacetamide, substituted arylaldehydes and malononitrile in presence of pipyridine. The structure of the synthesized compound CP 1-20 was assigned on the basis of elemental analysis, IR, $^1H$-NMR and mass spectroscopy. These compounds were also screened for antimicrobial activity. The Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) of all the synthesized compounds was compared with standard drugs.

Ten [$Pd^{II}$(dicarboxylato)(1, 2-diaminocyclohexane)] complexes were prepared after the antitumor-active Pt(II)1, 2-diaminocyclohexane complexes as the cisplatin analogues of palladium series. They were characterized by means of elemental analysis, IR and NMR spectroscopy. As a result, the dicarboxylate ligands were conformed to be chelated with Pd(II) within the scope studied. The stability differences beween the dicarboxylato complexes according to the chelate ring size could not be differentiated due to generally lower thermodynamic stability of the dicarboxylato Pd(II) complexes.

Silica gel column chromatography on the ether extract from the fruits of Angelica koreana $M_{AXIMOWICZ}$ gave two kinds of crystalline products of coumarin. The following furocoumarins-imperatorin and bergapten has been identified by elemental analysis, IR, NMR spectra and physico-chemical tests.

Human sensibility ergonomics is the technique that qualities man's sensibility, measures and evaluates it Quantitatively and makes man's life comfortable, safe and delightful by applying it to products or environmental projects. This study consider the sensibility factor of Sasang constitutional medicine, five elemental properties, and Biorhythm in terms of human sensibility ergonomics. And this study measure reaction-time dependent on a temperament or a state and evaluate the differences of reaction-times objectively with the comparison and analysis using the ANOVA. We can harness it for job design.
