  • The era of IoT in which all objects are intelligent and are connected to the internet has been started. In order to establish and activate an IoT eco system, open IoT services platform is very important. In this paper, we develop an open IoT services platform and verified the function by building a testbed. Our platform based on the open source hardware and commercial cloud services such as AWS which is a component of an open service IoT platform.

  • Currently, automated payment services provide intuitive user interfaces by adapting various wireless communication devices with mobile services. For example, companies like Samsung, Google, and Apple have selected the NFC payment method to service payments of existing credit cards. An electronic payment standard has been released for NFC activation within Korea and will strengthen the safety of payment service communications. However, there are various security risks regarding the NFC-based electronic payment method. In particular, the NFC payment service using the recently released lightweight devices cannot provide the cryptographic strength that is supported by many financial transaction services. This is largely due to its computational complexity and large storage resource requirements. The chaotic map introduced in this study can generate a highly complicated code as it is sensitive to the initial conditions. As the lightweight study using the chaotic map has been actively carried out in recent years, associated authentication techniques of the lightweight environment have been released. If applied with a chaotic map, a high level of cryptographic strength can be achieved that can provide more functions than simple XOR operations or HASH functions. Further, this technique can be used by financial transaction services. This study proposes a mutual authentication technique for NFC-PCM to support an NFC payment service environment based on the chaotic map.

  • This paper describes a theoretical framework for rate allocation to maximize the power efficiency of overall heterogeneous wireless networks whose users are assumed to have multihoming capabilities. Therefore, the paper first presents a power consumption model considering the circuit power and radio transmission power of each wireless network. Using this model, two novel power efficient rate allocation schemes (PERAS) for multihoming services are proposed. In this paper, the convex optimization problem for maximizing the power efficiency over wireless networks is formulated and solved while guaranteeing the required quality of service (QoS). Here, both constant bit rate and variable bit rate services are considered. Furthermore, we extend our theoretical framework by considering the sleep-operation management of wireless networks. The performance results obtained from numerical analysis reveal that the two proposed schemes offer superior performance over the existing rate allocation schemes for multihoming services and guarantee the required QoS.

  • Video services over Internet is getting important. Since the service quality of the video service provided by streaming over Internet may be degraded, the quality assessment and management are very important. Currently the objective method based on the measured values of parameters is being widely used for video services. The subjective assessment, however, is more ideal in that the quality that is experienced by human. This paper, therefore, proposes a subjective quality management scheme for video service in a mobile environment that overcomes the limitations of the subjective method. The proposed scheme is expected to contribute to implement a more efficient quality management system for video services in a mobile environment.

  • With the major advancement of vehicle-related technologies and services, the demands for the in/out-vehicle service expansion increase significantly. The key importance of the service expansion is to provide various vehicle-centric services in addition to improve the convenience and usability of users with connectivity. Recently, Internet of Things (IoT) gains major attention for small device connectivity and service, and it widens its area to other industries including automotive to advance and diversify its services. In this paper, we investigated the technical direction of the IoT service with the analysis of IoT technologies in the perspective of the vehicle. At first, we analyzed the vehicle and IoT services in each so that we are able to suggest the service design guideline and consideration to release integrated services between vehicle and IoT. Also, we reviewed the cases of few vehicle and home IoT integration services for the major insights and future direction of the integration services.

  • The service quality is one of the most important issue for successful deployment of IPTV services. Currently, a number of parameters have been reported that they have an effect on the quality of IPTV services. However, it is almost impossible to monitor and manage all the parameters in real time. Key parameters, therefore, should be chosen as a service metric for efficient quality management of IPTV services. For this purpose, we implement an environment for monitoring and measuring the quality of IPTV services and try to figure out the effect of each parameter on the quality of IPTV services. In particular, we focus on a parameter called continuous count error (CCE) measured at the level of MPEG transport stream (TS) and show that it has a greater effect on the quality of IPTV services than other parameters.

  • Information management of products and services in every industries is gaining importance for resource planning and maintenance. In this paper, we analyzed the information classification systems for railway industry. International and domestic classification systems, such as HS, UNSPSC, eCl@ss and ISIC, are reviewed; as a result this paper presents the findings and the various issues. We proposed to-be images in adopting and utilizing the classification systems. Using the integrative information classification systems could make efficient electronic procurement, supply chain management and e-Business of railway services.

  • Owing to the digital revolution, Internet Commerce and Electronic Commerce is having a profound influence on the global trade and internal commerce, revolutionizing the way of doing business and making payment. The entrance of the Internet has a prominent for spread of Electronic Commerce and those phenomenons will result in paperless trading and cashless trade By virtue of Internet, an increasing share of business transactions occurs online. Electronic payment is essential for the smooth progress of the electronic commerce as electronic payment plays the important role in the electronic commerce. Traditionally international settlement systems such as letters of credits, remittance and documentary collections operated as an important and popular method of payment. Now, information technology has made it possible to pay for the sale of goods and services over the internet. In international trade, there are service providers (Bolero, TradeCard, @Globaltrade) to settle payment electronically through the Internet.
