Micro Pattern Control of Metal Printing by Piezoelectric Print-head (압전 프린트 헤드에 의한 금속프린팅의 미세패턴제어)

  • We were analyzed the piezoelectric characteristic for electronics printing to inkjet printing system. These applications were possible use to Actuator, MEMS, FPCB, RFID, Solar cell and LCD color filter etc. Piezoelectric print head is firing from ink droplet control consideration ink viscosity properties. At this time, micro pattern for PCB metal printing was possible by droplet control of piezoelectric driving. These driving characteristics are variable voltage pulse waveform. We are used the piezoelectric analysis software of Finite Element Method (FEM), Piezoelectric design parameters are acquired from piezoelectric analysis, and measurement of piezoelectric. It designed for piezoelectric head to possible electric print pattern of inkjet printing system. For this validity we were established through in comparison with simulation and measurement. Designed piezoelectric specification obtained voltage 98V, firing frequency 10 kHz, resolution 360dpi, drop volume 20pl, nozzle number 256, and nozzle pitch 0.33 mm.

Electrohydrodynamic Continuous Jet Printing of Ni Ink for Crystalline Silicon Solar Cells (전기 수력학 인쇄공정을 이용한 실리콘 태양전지 전극용 Ni 잉크 제조 및 인쇄 공정 연구)

  • Ni ink for electrohydrodynamic (EHD) continuous jet printing has been developed by using Ni nanoparticles mixed with conhesiveness provider. EHD continuous jet printing was used in order to realize $20{\mu}m$ pattern width. Ink stability was investigated by using Turbi-scan which monitors agglomeration and precipitation of nanoparticles in the ink for three days. The Turbi-scan results showed that the formulated Ni ink had been stable for 3 days without any indication of precipitation across the entire ink. Antireflection coating (ARC) layer in crystalline solar cell wafers was removed by laser ablation technique leading to the formation of 84 grooves where the Ni ink was printed by EHD continuous jet printing. The printability and microstructure of EHD-jet-printed Ni lines were investigated by using optical and electron microscopes. 84 Ni lines with the width less than $20{\mu}m$ were successfully printed by one-time printing without any misalignment and fill the laser-ablated ARC grooves.

Fabrication and Characterization of PMN-PZT Thick Films Prepared by Screen Printing Method (Screen Printing법을 이용한 PMN-PZT 후막의 제조 및 특성 연구)

  • Characteristics of Pb(Mg, Nb)O$_3$-Pb(Zr, Ti)O$_3$system thick films fabricated by a screen printing method were investigated. The buffer layer were coated with various thickness of Ag-Pd by screen printing to investigate the effect as a diffusion barrier and deposited Pt as a electrode by sputtering on Ag-Pb layer. The printed thick films were burned out at 650$\^{C}$ and sintered at 950$\^{C}$ in O$_2$condition for each 20, 60min after printing with 350mesh screen. The thickness of piezoelectric thick film was 15∼20㎛ and Ag-Pb layer acted as a diffusion barrier above 3㎛ thickness. The PMN-PZT thick films were screen printed on Pt/Ag-Pb(6m) and sintered by 2nd step (650$\^{C}$/20min and 950$\^{C}$/1h) using paste mixed PMN-PZT and binder in the ratio of 70:30, and the remnant polarization of thick film was 9.1$\mu$C/㎠ in this conditions.

Electrical Properties of $BaTiO_3$ System Thick Films Prepared by Screen-Printing Method

  • [ $(Ba,Sr,Ca)TiO_3$ ] powders, prepared by the sol-gel method, were mixed with an organic vehicle and the BSCT thick films were fabricated by the screen printing techniques on alumina substrates. The grain size decreased with increasing amounts of $MnO_2$, and the BSCT(50/40/10) thick film doped with 1wt% $MnO_2$ showed a value of 6.5mm. The thickness of thick films by four-cycle on printing/drying was approximately 100mm. The relative dielectric constant, dielectric loss and tunability of the BSCT(S0/40/10) thick films doped with 1.0wt% $MnO_2$ were 1296, 0.61% and 11.18%, respectively.

  • LCD color filters have been manufactured in a process called photolithography to date, but various printing methods have been studied currently in response to the trend of low-end LCD panels. Direct Printing Process is a suitable fabrication technique to develope pigment components whose dimensions are in nano. The success of this process depends on the systematic preparation of pigment millbase. Conventional millbase dispersions are constituted of the organic pigments, monomer, dispersant and solvents. An experimental study on the rheology of millbase dispersions is presented. Subsequently, this thesis attempts to find out the dispersive characteristics as well as the selection of pigments, monomers and dispersants in the part of millbase among the stages of manufacturing LCD color filters using the direct printing methods. The dispersive characteristics were shown through analytic devices such as PSA, Rheometer, etc.

  • Nanocrystalline $TiO_2$ electrode were prepared by spray-printing in order to efficiency and improved fill factor. Different compositions of nanocrystalline $TiO_2$ pastes are described, based on $TiO_2$ powder made by ourselves. The produced by spray printing $TiO_2$ films were compare with the produced by squeeze printing $TiO_2$ films and was studied in the light of static I-V characteristics. The produced $TiO_2$ films are extensively characterized by means of spectroscopy(Ramon, XRD) and microscopy(FE-SEM).

  • 일반적으로 screen printing 전극은 양산용 태양전지에 많이 응용되고 있다. 이것은 공정이 진공상태 내에서 이루어지지 않으므로 비교적 간단하게 증착 가능하고, co-firing으로 인한 공정단계의 함축과, 기판의 화학적인 오염이 적으며, 시료를 용도에 따라 다양하게 선택적으로 사용할 수 있고, 많은 수량의 태양전지에 전극을 저비용으로 빠르게 형성할 수 있기에 throughput 이 높은 장점이 있다. 하지만 lithography에 의한 전극보다 저항이 높고, uniformity가 낮은 단점이 있다. 본 연구에서는 Ag 전면전극과 Al 후면전극을 형성하고 conventional furnace에서 co-firing하여 열처리조건에 따라서 전극이 최적화된 가장 낮은 저항을 갖도록 하여 단점을 개선하여 보았다.

  • Graphene, a flat one-atom-thick two-dimensional layer of carbon atoms, is considered to be a promising candidate for nanoelectronics due to its exceptional electronic properties. Most of all, future nanoelectronics such as flexible displays and artificial electronic skins require low cost manufacturing process on flexible substrate to be integrated with high resolutions on large area. The solution based printing process can be applicable on plastic substrate at low temperature and also adequate for fabrication of electronics on large-area. The combination of printed electronics and graphene has allowed for the development of a variety of flexible electronic devices. As the first step of the study, we prepared the gate electrodes by printing onto the gate dielectric layer on PET substrate. We showed the performance of graphene field-effect transistor with electrohydrodynamic (EHD) inkjet-printed Ag gate electrodes.

Structural Properties of PZT(80/20) Thick Films Fabricated by Screen Printing Method

  • Pb(Zr$_{0.8}$Ti$_{0.2}$)O$_{3}$ powders, prepared by the sol-gel method, were mixed with an organic vehicle and the PZT thick films were fabricated by the screen-printing techniques on Pt/Ah03 substrates. The structural properties were examined as a function of sintering temperature. The particle size distribution of the PZT powder derived from the sol-gel process is uniform with the mean particle size of about 2.6 m. As a result of the DTA, the formation of the polycrystalline perovskite phase was observed at around $890^{circ}$CC. In the X-ray diffraction analysis, all PZT thick films showed a perovskite polycrystalline structure without a pyrochlore phase. The perovskite crystallization temperature of PZT thick films was about $890^{circ}$C. The average thickness of the PZT thick films was approximately 80-90 m.

Development of Capacitive-type Pressure Mapping Sensor using Printing Technology

  • In this study, I developed a simple and low cost process-printing a silver, carbon, dielectric, adhesive layer on PET films using screen printing technology and bonding the two films face-to-face-to fabricate a low price capacitive pressure-mapping sensor. Both electrodes forming the pressure measuring capacitor are arranged between the two PET films similar to a sandwich. Therefore, the sensor has the advantage of minimizing the influence of external noise. In this study, a $10{\times}10$ capacitance-type pressure-mapping sensor was fabricated and its characteristics were analyzed.
