  • In this paper, the electromagnetic interference of a parallel plate with apertures is characterized by the method of moment(MoM), using the Spline-type Divided-Difference Interpolation(SDDI) technique. Particularly, for the solution of the problem, the application of the SDDI technique is extended to the calculation of the summation-type Green's functions. It improves numerical efficiency, having accuracy and saving the overall computational time required in the MoM application. For validating the proposed method, the electric fields on the apertures are calculated and compared to those of the literature. The numerical results show good agreement with them.

  • This paper presents the RAKE receiver over a multipath fading channel. This interference between the propagation paths in a multipath fading causes a serious degradation in the mobile communication environment. In order to derive the path interference and reduce the fading effect, the RAKE receiver is used. As a result, the RAKE receiver gives a better performance than the DS / SS receiver over a multipath fading channel.

  • In this paper, we discuss hardware design and deployment issues in current passive UHF RFID systems. Using the link budget concept, the methodology to calculate forward- and reverse-link interrogation range is shown. Then, we consider hardware issues: phase diversity, phase noise with range correlation, and TX leakage problems. Finally, three interference problems when deploying RFID systems are presented.

  • Electric power systems are becoming advanced by using new technology year by year However, in electric power system environments. electromagnetic interference occurs in measurement, supervisory and control systems, especially in sensors. Optical sensor technologies are useful for solving the problem, since they are not affected by electromagnetic interference because they are composed of insulting materials. In this paper, some applications of optical sensor technology to electric power systems are introduced.

  • The earth station antenna operating on a GEO communication satellite is influenced by sun interference in the period of the spring or the autumn eqinox. Such phenomena are also undertaken by ray-bending phenomena in atmosphere. Therefore the prediction time of sun interference does not theoretically match actual interference time. In this paper, the actual sun interference time has been analyzed in consideration of ray-bending phenomenon, the size of main reflector of earth station antenna and elevation angle between an earth station antenna and a satellite. Ray-bending phenomenon in atmosphere is proved to be disregarded if the Mugungwha satellite is luanched in 1995. The analysis results are compared with actual measurement values of sun interference time at local earth stations and the two data are in accord well.

  • In this paper, interference effects between NGSO and HAPS in the feeder link have been simulated and analyzed by means of calculating excess time percent and duration below the C/I protection ratio. As the results, in the case of HAPS interference into NGSO, it can be obtained that the lowest C/I values are 27.42dB in 50km and 12.73dB in 20Km of HAPS altitudes, respectively. And in the case of NGSO interference into HAPS, it can be obtained that the lowest C/I values are 13.94dB and 10.42dB respectively. HAPS system has more interference reception from other systems or effects more interference into other systems as its altitude is lower. Also, the lowest C/I values are appeared at difference time with its altitude.

  • In this paper, we have chosen Inchon International Airport as an area for estimating flutter interference to estimate and analyze the flutter Interference. We have proposed a method to overcome flutter interference. The simulation has been performed considering the received power of a direct wave, the height of an antenna, the ERP of a transmitting point, and the reflection coefficients as an estimation function for the flutter. From the simulation results, we have found that the flutter Interference from flights is very serious, and the degree of flutter interference can be changed according to the distance between an airplane and a transmitting point, the profile between transmitting and receiving points, and the reflection coefficients of an airplane.

  • This paper introduces an interference analyzer based on the statistical approach called the Monte Carlo methodology, which has been chosen as one of the interference analyzing techniques in ITU-R. Furthermore, using the interference analyzer developed in this paper with modified Hata model, computer simulation is performed to examine probability of interference affecting between the base stations with FDD and TDD modes for IMT-2000. Through the simulation results, it is confirmed that two different systems with FDD/TDD modes of same frequency bands can be simultaneously used in a cell without significant interference, under the parameter conditions specified in this paper.

  • As many radar systems are simultaneously operated with overlapping frequency bands, interference between systems inevitably occurs. Because interference can degrade radar performance, suppression of interference is a critical issue in radar systems. In this letter, a new interference detection and suppression method using a short-time Fourier transform and an adaptive notch filter is proposed. An experiment is carried out to validate the proposed method and the results demonstrate that the proposed method is suitable for application in real FMCW radars.
