Conductivity Characteristic for Temperature of Stearic acid LB films (지방산 LB막의 온도에 대한 전기전도도 특성)

  • The electrical characteristics of Stearic acid Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) films were investigated to develop the gas sensor using LB films. The deposition status of LB films were verified I-V characteristic which was increased with an applied voltage for the number of layers and decreased as increasing the distance of electrode. The conductivity of Stearic acid LB films was $10^{-8}[S/cm]$, which is typical of semiconductor. The conductivity of LB films were increased as the temperature was increased. The activation energy was about 1[eV].

  • Penicillin sensor was prepared by immobilizing penicillinase (Pcase) on $H^{+}$-selective carboxylated poly (vinyl chloride) (PVC-COOH) membrane or cellulose filter membrane. The immobilization techniques are as follows. Pcase was immobilized with GTH on $H^{+}$-selective PVC-COOH membrane or some amount of BSA was dropped on that membrane. Another method to make immobilization is to mix type I Pcase with GTH and drop on a cellulose filter membrane. According to immobilization techniques, there were some differences in response properties of enzyme electrodes, however, all electrodes responded to Pcase-resistant penicillin derivatives. Pcase immobilized on cellulose filter membrane with $H^{+}$-selective PVC membrane eletrode was more stable and more sensitive to penicillinase-resistant penicillin derivatives than any other immobilization techniques.

  • PD in air is accompanied by light, sound and electromagnetic wave. Light and sound can be prevented from blocking between PD sources and sensor but electromagnetic wave can be transferred to long distance without any interference an captured by antenna. This paper investigated the wideband antenna is appropriate for sensing Partial discharge in air. PD was generated from simulated PD source which consist of needle and flat electrode with small gap. Signals obtained from wideband antenna were diminished in both time and frequence region with the distance between PD source and antenna.

  • The thiolated anti-Escherichia coli antibody prepared by thiolation with a thiolcleavable heterobifunctional cross-linker, sulfosuccinimidyl 6[3- (2-pyridyldithio) propionamido]hexanoate (sulfo-LC-SPDP) was chemisorped onto one gold electrode of the piezoelectric quartz crystal surface. In the QCM system employing a batch-type well holder, a steady-state frequency decrease was attained within 20 min when $100{\sim}200\;{\mu}L$ suspensions of Escherichia coli having viable cell counts of $10^5{\sim}10^6\;CFU/mL$ were added. The stability of sensor response was improved compared to the system with a batch-type dip holder.

  • This report describes the simultaneous detection of the two dyes most commonly used in food, tartrazine (TZ) and sunset yellow (SY), based on a microcomposite of carbon paste decorated with La2O3 and TiO2. Anodic currents for SY-TZ were observed at 0.89-1.21 V by cyclic voltammetry (CV) separated with a ΔV of 0.32 V. The increased anodic peak currents compared to that of the unmodified carbon paste electrode were almost 50 and 41% for SY-TZ, respectively. The detection limits with the optimal amount of La2O3-TiO2 were 0.02 and 0.03 µmol/L, respectively. The relative standard deviation (RSD) based on fifty measurements was less than 3%. The versatility and novelty of the sensor were tested with food samples containing these substances and other substances.

  • A new flexible electronic packaging technology and its medical applications are presented. Conventional silicon chips and electronic modules can be considered as "mechanically rigid box." which does not bend due to external forces. This mechanically rigid characteristic prohibits its applications to wearable systems or bio-implantable devices. Using current MEMS (Microelectromechanical Systems) technology. a surface micromachined flexible polysilicon sensor array and flexible electrode array fer neural interface were fabricated. A chemical thinning technique has been developed to realize flexible silicon chip. To combine these techniques will result in a realization of truly flexible sensing modules. which are suitable for many medical applications.

  • Silver nanowire random networks are promising candidates for replacing indium tin oxide (ITO) as transparent and conductive electrodes. They can also be used as transparent heating films with self-cleaning and defogging properties. By virtue of the Joule heating effect, silver nanowire random networks can be heated when voltage bias is applied; however, they are unsuitable for long-term use. In this work, we study the Joule heating of silver nanowire random networks embedded in polymers. Silver nanowire random networks embedded in polymers exhibit breakdown under the application of electric current. Their surface morphological changes indicate that nanoparticle formation may be the main cause of this electrical breakdown. Numerical analyses are used to investigate the temperatures of the silver nanowire and substrate.

  • This article reviews the recent progress in nanowell array biosensors that use the label-free detection protocol, and are detected in their natural forms. These nanowell array biosensors are fabricated by nanofabrication technologies that should be useful for developing highly sensitive and selective also reproducible biosensors. Moreover, electrochemical method was selected as analysis method that has high sensitivity compared with other analysis. Finally, highly sensitive nanobiosensor was achieved by combining nanofabrication technologies and classical electrochemical method. Many examples are mentioned about the sensing performance of nanowell array biosensors will be evaluated in terms of sensitivity and detection limit compared with other micro-sized electrode without nanowell array.

  • The purpose of this study is to monitor and control the back bead width in arc welding with consumable electrode for reduction of the occurrence of weld defect. The temperature of a point on the weldment surface is selected, as a monitoring parameter, and measured by an optical infra-red sensor. The correlation between the back bead width and the surface temperature is experimentally obtained for various thicknesses of the weldment. The welding travel speed and the surface temperature are taken, respectively, as an input and an output of the welding process under the stable condition of arc. A PI control scheme to maintain the surface temperature at the desired level is proposed by the experimental study.

  • DC Arc Fault Current is an electric discharge which is occurred in two opposite electrode. In this paper, DC arc detection device is designed for the display of DC arc fault current which is occurred in the local electric network with DC Power. This DC arc is one of the main causes of electric fire. Arc fault in electrical network has the characteristics of low current, high impedance and low frequency. DC Arc current detection device is designed for the display of arc fault current which has the modified arc characteristics.
