전기 점화 방식에 있어서 초기 점화핵(Spark kernel) 성장의 정압특성 (The behavior of the early stage of the spark kernel growth at constant pressure surroundings)

  • To study on the behavior of the early stage of the spark kernel at constant pressure condition, the expressions of the thermal properties such as compressibility factor, thermal conductivity, and electrical conductivity of the high temperature air were newly suggested. The newly suggested simple expressions of the thermal properties of the high temperature air showed good results. Under the assumption of constant pressure, one dimensional numerical analysis was executed by varying surrounding conditions and discharging current of electrical spark. Numerical results show tat high surrounding pressure suppresses the growth of the spark kernel but supplies much electrical energy into the air, on the other hand high surrounding temperature increases the growth of the spark kernel but supplies less electrical energy. Also the result shows that , in case of direct current discharge, deposited electrical energy is able to be expressed in linear function of time approximately.

병렬 분산 처리를 이용한 영상 기반 실내 위치인식 시스템의 프레임워크 구현 (Framework Implementation of Image-Based Indoor Localization System Using Parallel Distributed Computing)

  • 본 논문에서는 인메모리(In-memory) 병렬 분산 처리 시스템 Apache Spark(이하 Spark)를 활용하여 사용자에게 실시간 측위 정보를 제공할 수 있는 영상 기반 실내 위치인식 시스템을 제안한다. 제안하는 시스템에서는 사용자에게 실시간 측위 정보를 제공하기 위해서, Spark를 이용한 영상 특징점 추출 알고리즘의 병렬 분산화를 통해 알고리즘 연산 시간을 단축시킨다. 하지만 기존의 Spark 플랫폼에서는 영상 처리를 위한 인터페이스가 존재하지 않아, 영상 처리와 관련된 연산을 수행하는 것이 불가능하였다. 이에 본 논문에서는 Spark 영상 입출력 인터페이스를 구현하여 측위 연산을 위한 영상 처리를 Spark에서 수행 가능하게 하였다. 또한 무손실 압축(lossless compression)기법을 이용하여 특징점 기술자(descriptor)를 압축된 형태로 데이터베이스에 저장하여, 대용량의 실내 지도 데이터를 효율적으로 저장 및 관리하는 방법을 소개한다. 측위 실험은 실제 실내 환경에서 수행하였으며, 싱글 코어(Single-core) 시스템과의 성능 비교를 통해 제안하는 시스템이 최대 약 3.6배 단축된 시간으로 사용자에게 측위 정보를 제공 할 수 있다는 것을 입증하였다.

회전 공극형 고전압 펄스발생장치 (A High Voltage Pulse Generator Using a Rotatary Airhole Spark Gap Code)

  • A high voltage pulse generator with a rotator airhole spark gap instead of a rotary ball spark gap has been proposed and investigated. Its feasibility as a high voltage pulse generator is compared with the rotary ball spark gap type one. Parametric studies showed that proposed the rotary airhole type spark gap had a very stable breakdown voltage and reliable pulse repetition time compared with the conventional rotary ball type spark gap. This however showed that the proposed pulse generator with a rotary airhole spark gap instead of a rotary ball spark gap could be potentially used as a very stable and reliable pulse generator in the various fields of applications.

  • The Monte-Carlo simulation was used to define the physical mechanisms of the initiation phase of pseudo-spark discharge. The pseudo-spark discharge employing the hollow cathode geometry is accompanied by very fast current rising and intense charged particle beams. In this model, time-dependent continuity equation for the electrons and ions were solved consistently with Poisson's equation for the electric field in a two-dimensional, sysmmetrically cylinderical geometry. From the simulation, a sequence of physical mechanisms that cause the rapid current rise associated with the onset of pseudo-spark discharge mode were identified.

  • This paper is studied on a novel Electric Safety Protection Device (ESPD) of high speed for incapable operation of Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker (ELB) and Molded_case Circuit Breaker (MCCB) using the low voltage distribution line. The major causes of electrical fire are classified to short circuit fault, overload fault, electric leakage and electric contact failure. The occurrence factor of the fire is electric arc or spark accompanied with electrical faults. Residual Current Protective Device (RCD), that is ELB and MCCB, of high sensitivity type used at low voltage wiring cuts off earth leakage and overload, but the RCD can't cut off electric arc or spark to be a major factor of electrical fire. As the RCDs which are applied low voltage distribution panel are prescribed to rated breaking time about 30[ms] (KS C 4613), the RCDs can't perceive to the periodic electric arc or spark of more short wavelength level. To be improved on such problem, this research development is proposed to a novel ESPD of high speed to trip of distribution line on electric arc or spark due to electrical fire. Some experimental results of the proposed ESPD are confirmed to the validity of the analytical results.

OpenCL을 활용한 이기종 파이프라인 컴퓨팅 기반 Spark 프레임워크 (Spark Framework Based on a Heterogenous Pipeline Computing with OpenCL)

  • Apache Spark is one of the high performance in-memory computing frameworks for big-data processing. Recently, to improve the performance, general-purpose computing on graphics processing unit(GPGPU) is adapted to Apache Spark framework. Previous Spark-GPGPU frameworks focus on overcoming the difficulty of an implementation resulting from the difference between the computation environment of GPGPU and Spark framework. In this paper, we propose a Spark framework based on a heterogenous pipeline computing with OpenCL to further improve the performance. The proposed framework overlaps the Java-to-Native memory copies of CPU with CPU-GPU communications(DMA) and GPU kernel computations to hide the CPU idle time. Also, CPU-GPU communication buffers are implemented with switching dual buffers, which reduce the mapped memory region resulting in decreasing memory mapping overhead. Experimental results showed that the proposed Spark framework based on a heterogenous pipeline computing with OpenCL had up to 2.13 times faster than the previous Spark framework using OpenCL.

  • An arc/spark detector (ASD) was developed is to early detect wire failures and insecure connections that may lead to fire in residents and commercial and industrial facilities. A detailed circuit design for ASD implementation along with prototype product is reported. The tests of ASD, which were successful in phase identification, in many different arc/spark locations under different loadings, and in false alarm probability, showed the ability and capability of the state-of-the-art detector in the electric fire hazard prevention.

The principal factor of the fire is electric arc or spark accompanied with such electric faults. Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker (ELB) and Molded_case Circuit Breaker (MCCB), that is, Residual Current Protective Devices (RCDs) used on low voltage distribution lines cut off earth leakage and overload, but the RCD can not cut off electric arc or spark to be a major factor of electrical fire. As the RCDs which are applied in low voltage distribution panel are prescribed to rated breaking time about 30[ms] (KS C 4613), the RCDs can't perceive to the periodic electric arc or spark of more short wavelength level. To improve such problems, this paper studies on an arc fault circuit interrupter (AFCI) using the distorted voltage wave in electric arc faults. The proposed voltage sensing type AFCI is an electrical fire prevention apparatus of new conception that operates a circuit breaker with sensing the instantaneous voltage drop of line voltage at electrical faults occurrence. The proposed AFCI is composed of control circuit topology using some semiconductor switching devices. Some experimental tests of the proposed AFCI confirm practicality and the validity of the analytical results.

장애 복구 응답성 향상을 위한 Spark Streaming 스케줄링 개선 메커니즘 (mproved Spark Streaming Scheduling Mechanism for Real-time Fault Recovery)

  • 최근 방대한 양의 스트림 데이터가 생산되면서 이를 실시간으로 처리하기 위한 프레임워크가 등장하였으며, 오픈 소스 영역에서 Spark Streaming이 주목받고 있다. Spark Streaming은 분산 환경에서 성능 향상을 위해 지연 스케줄링을 기반으로 응용을 수행하지만, 장애 발생 시 사용 가능한 태스크 슬롯을 빠르게 할당받지 못할 경우 장애 복구 시간이 지연될 수 있다는 문제점이 있다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 본 논문에서는 실행자의 태스크 슬롯 보장을 통해 대기 시간 없이 즉시 할당할 수 있도록 하는 개선 메커니즘을 제안하였고, 실험 결과 장애 복구 응답성이 39.14% 개선됨을 확인하였다.
