가스냉방 전력대체효과 분석 (Analysis of Electric Power Peak-Cut Effect by Gas Cooling)

  • To reduce the peak demand the promotion of gas cooling(absorption chillers and GHPs) is required. In this study the effect of electric power peak-cut has been analyzed using two methods. One is based on monthly LNG consumption data and the other is using the gas cooling capacity installed. Both methods agreed well with each other within the uncertainty of 20%. It was found that the gas cooling had the peak cut effect of 1,500-2,000 MW for recent 5 years (2003 - 2007). The ratio of gas cooling to the whole cooling demand was 12-15%, which is needed to be increased.

  • 전 세계 전력 생산 에너지의 비율은 석탄이 40%, 천연가스 20%, 수력 16%, 원자력 15%, 석유 6%로 모두가 환경오염을 유발하는 에너지다. 또한 화석연료는 지구상에 자원의 편중이 심하기 때문에 가격과 공급면에서 심각한 문제를 야기한다. 이러한 문제로 화석 연료를 대체하게 될 차세대 친환경 에너지로써 태양광 에너지가 각광 받고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 국내 공단에 Test-Bed를 선정하여 수용가의 대응용 태양광 ESS 시스템 적용함에 있어 Peak-cut 운영을 위한 Charge Operation Plan과 Discharge Operation Plan 운영방안을 최대수요전력 감소 시뮬레이션을 통해 검증하고자 한다. 이를 위해 전력사용량이 가장 많은 11월부터 2월의 전력사용량을 선정하여 Charge/Discharge Logic을 적용했다. 본 논문에서 제시한 충전/방전 로직에 따른 시뮬레이션 결과, ESS Peak-cut 서비스 이후의 최대수요전력이 감소하였으며 Peak-target 전력의 50%로 감소함에 따라 계약전력 또한 감소함을 알 수 있다. 이를 통해 계약전력 감소는 해당 수용가의 기본 전력 값을 감소시켜, 경제적 우월성을 기대할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 전기품질 향상 및 전력공급시스템의 안정화에도 기여할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

  • The power consumption pattern of high-speed railway has rarely during night time. But, during service time, the power is consumed irregularly related to train operation. Especially certain unusual about 1-2 days of service time interval to indicate the power consumption is rapidly growing phenomenon, which causes the capacity of the power contract is the annual electricity bill to rise rapidly as the cause. Normally, amount of peak power consumption bill rate at railway substation is over 20% of total electrical bill. Therefore, high-speed railway substation is expected to be considerably larger savings by reducing the peak power of the default charge(demand power).

피크부하용 혼소엔진발전의 경제성 분석 (An Economic Analysis on Dual-fuel Engine Generation for Peak Load)

  • Recently, lack of power reserve margin was observed quite often. In this paper, we studied the method to secure power source for a short time, to cut the utility power peak load, and to reduce the users electricity bills. Emergency diesel generator of an office building is to be converted into a dual-fuel engine generator which is responsible for a portion of the peak load. Compared to the conventional diesel fuel generator, the proposed dual-fuel engine is able to reduce the generation power cost by dual-fuel combustion, and it also mitigates the building's utility power peak load by charging the building's peak load. If the dead resources (a group of emergency dual-fuel engine generators), as a Virtual Power Plant, are operating in peak time, we can significantly reduce future large power development costs. We investigated the current general purpose electricity bills as well as the records of the building electric power usage, and calculated diesel engine generator renovation costs, generation fuel costs, driving conditions, and savings in electricity bills. The proposed dual-fuel engine generation method reduces 18.1% of utility power peak load, and turned out to be highly attractive investment alternative which shows more than 27% of IRR, 76 million won of NPV, and 20~53 months of payback periods. The results of this study are expected to be useful to developing the policy & strategy of the energy department.

  • Photovoltaics is considered to be one of the most promising technologies which can greatly contribute to future energy supply because of a large, secure, essentially inexhaustible and broadly available resource - sunlight. However, recent progresses in photovoltaics make also possible its short-term practical application in some areas. Among them the solar air conditionner powered by photovoltaic system attracts considerable interest due to its main advantage which consists in the reduction of drastically increasing electricity peak load in summer season. In this review paper our current study on the solar air conditionner will be briefly summarized.

  • 전기자동차용 배터리 충전회로에는 일반적으로 다양한 전력용 반도체 스위칭 소자들이 사용되고 있다. 따라서 사용소자의 비선형성에 기인하는 고조파 발생과 큰 피크전류, 낮은 역률 등으로 부근에 있는 전력시스템에 과도기전류나 파형 왜곡 현상을 발생한다. 그리하여 최근에는 기존의 정류회로에서 무시되었던 역율제어, 선 전류의 피크치 억제, 고조파 발생문제 등이 보다 중요하게 되었다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 기존의 문제점들을 해결하기 위해 전압 상승특성을 개선하고 역율이 0.97이상인 고역율 배터리 충전기용 콘버어터 회로를 제안하고자 한다. 제안된 시스템은 정류된 직류전압을 고주파 인버어터에서 교류 공진파로 변환하고, 고주파 트랜스를 통과한 전압을 다시 정류하여 직류전압으로 변환한다. 특히, 이러한 콘버어터의 사용효과는 역율제어에 의해서 크게 개선될 수 있는데, 납축전지를 이용한 실험을 통해 그 타당성을 입증하고자 한다.

풍력예보를 위한 단순 앙상블예측시스템 - 태풍 볼라벤 사례를 통한 평가 - (A Simple Ensemble Prediction System for Wind Power Forecasting - Evaluation by Typhoon Bolaven Case -)

  • A simple but practical Ensemble Prediction System(EPS) for wind power forecasting was developed and evaluated using the measurement of the offshore meteorological tower, HeMOSU-1(Herald of Meteorological and Oceanographic Special Unite-1) installed at the Southwest Offshore in South Korea. The EPS developed by the Korea Institute of Energy Research is based on a simple ensemble mean of two Numerical Weather Prediction(NWP) models, WRF-NMM and WRF-ARW. In addition, the Kalman Filter is applied for real-time quality improvement of wind ensembles. All forecasts with EPS were analyzed in comparison with the HeMOSU-1 measurements at 97 m above sea level during Typhoon Bolaven episode in August 2012. The results indicate that EPS was in the best agreement with the in-situ measurement regarding (peak) wind speed and cut-out speed incidence. The RMSE of wind speed was 1.44 m/s while the incidence time lag of cut-out wind speed was 0 hour, which means that the EPS properly predicted a development and its movement. The duration of cut-out wind speed period by the EPS was also acceptable. This study is anticipated to provide a useful quantitative guide and information for a large-scale offshore wind farm operation in the decision making of wind turbine control especially during a typhoon episode.

  • 중앙집중식 냉방 시스템을 적용하고 있는 대형 빌딩이나 플랜트 설비들의 경우 부하 증설 및 피크부하에 대응하기 위한 여유율을 반영한 설비 설계 및 시공이 이루어지고 있다. 이는 부분부하가 걸리는 기간 동안에는 설비의 저부하 운전으로 인한 장비의 효율 저하와 에너지 과소비의 원인이 된다. 본 연구는 부분부하에 효율적으로 대응할 수 있도록 냉방플랜트 최적 유량제어를 통한 에너지 절감 방안에 대한 연구로서 냉방플랜트 에너지 성능 분석 프로그램을 이용하여 냉방 부하를 분석하고, 최적 유량제어 시스템을 제안하여 그 에너지 성능을 비교 평가하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 성능 분석 결과 냉방플랜트 최적 유량제어 시스템 적용 시 기존 에너지 사용량 대비 약 17%의 전기에너지 절감이 가능하였다.
