슈퍼커패시터를 이용한 회생에너지 증대 및 제동에 관한 연구 (A Study of Increasing Regeneration Energy and Braking Using Super Capacitor(EDLC))

  • This experiment explains about electrical braking equipment which will be used for 1.2kW PEMFC HEV. The equipment is made of BLDC motor and super capacitor(EDLC). The circuit is designed for regeneration braking that can save the energy from low voltage of generation with BLDC motor. Increasing a regeneration energy from braking system is effected with regeneration current and SoC of super capacitor(EDLC). Electrical braking in electrical vehicle is suitable for regeneration braking with dynamic braking together.

  • We synthesized a new composite of poly sodium 4-styrenesulfonate intercalated graphene oxide for energy storage devices by controlling oxidation time in the synthesis of graphite oxide. Specific capacitance was improved from 20 F/g of the previous composites to 88 F/g of the new composite at the current density of 0.3 A/g. The capacitance retention was 94% after 3000 cycles, indicating that the new composites of high cyclic stability, prominent performance as electric double layer capacitor, and even low resistance could be an excellent carbon based electrode for further energy storage devices.

  • We fabricated five type of electric double layer capacitor(EDLC) with extremely stable activated carbon as a positive and negative electrodes. The electrodes consisted of activated carbon and several different conductor layers on aluminium foil. Cyclic voltammogram of activated carbon electrodes at scan rate 5mV/sec was reversable redox reaction. The discharge capacity of activated carbon-KS 6 composite electrode was higher than that of activated carbon electrode without KS 6.

  • Since a microgrid has renewable energy sources, imbalance between power supply and power demand occurs in the islanded mode. In order to solve the imbalance, several energy storage systems (ESSs) such as bettary energy storage system (BESS), EDLC (electric double layer capacitor), flywheel, and SMES (superconducting magnetic energy storage) are generally used. Especially, their electrical characteristics are different. For efficient use of them, a coordinated control scheme is required. In this paper, a coordinated control scheme for using a Lead-acid BESS, a Lithium BESS, and a EDLC is designed to efficient frequency control for a microgrid in the islanded mode. The coordinated frequency control strategy is designed based on their electrical characteristics. The feasibility of the proposed coordinated frequency control strategy is verified through the simulation.

  • Dealing with the DC link fault poses a technical problem for an HVDC based on a modular multilevel converter. The fault suppressing mechanisms of several sub-module topologies with DC fault current blocking capacity are examined in this paper. An improved half-bridge sub-module topology with double direction control switch is also designed to address the additional power consumption problem, and a sub-module topology called hybrid double direction blocking sub module (HDDBSM) is proposed. The DC fault suppression characteristics and sub-module capacitor voltage balance problem is also analyzed, and a self-startup method is designed according to the number of capacitors. The simulation model in PSCAD/EMTDC is built to verify the self-startup process and the DC link fault suppression features.

  • Carbon is an attractive material on electro double capacitor which depend on charge storage in the electrode/electrolyte interfacial double layer. Carbonaceous material for double layer capacitor can be obtained from carbon powder, fiber, film and porous carbon sheet. The capacitance of electrodes using an activated carbon was influenced by a filling density of the carbon, thickness and internal resistance of the electrode. In this study. to reduce internal resistance and increase electric conductivity of the electrode. activated carbon/carbon(AC/C) composite electrode was fabricated. The capacitors which have energy densities of 68F/g(at $30^{\circ}C$), 109F/g(at $60^{\circ}C$) and $68F/cm^3$(at $30^{\circ}C$), $111F/cm^3$(at $60^{\circ}C$) were fabricated by using AC/C composite electrodes.

  • 전기이중층 축전용량(electric double layer capacitance)과 유사축전용량(pseudo-capacitance)을 함께 갖는 하이브리드 전기화학 축전기에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 양극은 $Ni(OH)_2$ 활성탄소가 복합된 전극을 사용하였으며 음극은 활성탄소를 활물질로 사용하므로써 비대칭 전극 구조를 갖는다. 셀 실험을 위하여 $5\times5cm^2$ 크기인 전극을 제작 사용하였다. Cyclic voltammetry측정 및 교류 임피던스 측정실험을 통하여 각각의 셀들이 갖는 전기화학적 거동을 조사하였고 충 방전 실험을 통하여 양극과 음극의 최적 질량비를 조사하였다.

  • 본 연구는 슈퍼캐패시티 EDLC(:Electric double layer capacitor)를 적용한 가로등용 태양광-풍력 하이브리드 발전시스템 성능의 우수함과 안정성을 입증하고자 한다. 독립전원용 태양광-풍력 하이브리드 발전시스템의 부하로 LED 광원을 이용한 조명장치를 적용하고 고출력 발전시스템을 통한 가로등 시스템 장치의 개발을 목표로 하고 있다. 발전된 전력을 배터리에 저장하는데 있어서 보조장치로 적용될 EDLC는 기존의 컨트롤러와는 달리 배터리의 고출력과 긴 수명을 보장할 수 있어 기존장치에 비해 유지보수가 적게 들고 우수한 성능을 확보할 수 있다.
