  • 에너지저장시스템(Energy storage system; ESS)의 장시간 운용에 따라 배터리 물리적, 화학적으로 배터리 내부 활물질의 변형이 일어나며, 배터리의 전기화학적 특성이 달라진다. 이의 특성을 반영한 배터리 팩의 운용이 필요하며, 안정적이고 장기간 사용하기 위해 배터리 팩 내부 셀 간 불균형을 반영이 필요하다. 하지만, 배터리 팩의 노화로 셀 간 불균형이 발생 시, 같은 조건에서 개별 셀의 노화도를 판단하는 것은 어렵다. 이러한 이유로 배터리 팩뿐만 아니라 개별 셀의 노화를 판단하기 위해 건전성 지표(Health indicator)를 사용한다. 건전성 지표를 사용하여 Hotelling t2 통계량을 적용하여 배터리의 이상 신호 탐지를 수행하였다.

  • 최근 다양한 어플리케이션에서 리튬 이온 배터리가 사용됨에 따라 이에 대한 연구가 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 전기 자동차(Electric Vehicles; EVs) 및 에너지저장장치(Energy Storage Systems; ESSs) 등의 개발로 대형 배터리 시스템이 요구되고 있으며, 이의 해석이 요구되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 18650 원통형 셀로 구성된 14S20P 배터리 모듈의 노화에 따른 전기적 특성 및 열 거동 변화를 분석하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 연료 전지 전기 자동차에 맞는 새로운 전력 변환 시스템을 제안한다. 연료 전지 전기 자동차의 전력 변환 시스템은 배터리와 같이 구성하여 에너지 저장 불가능, 느린 응답 속도, 낮은 전력 밀도와 같은 연료 전지의 단점을 해결할 수 있다. 하지만 기존의 연료 전지 전기 자동차의 전력 변환 시스템은 두 개의 DC/DC 컨버터를 사용하여 연료 전지와 배터리를 함께 구성함으로써 두 개의 인덕터 개수로 인해 비용이 증가하고 전력 밀도가 낮다는 단점이 있다. 제안하는 전력 변환 시스템은 한 개의 인덕터, 추가적인 스위치와 다이오드를 사용하여 연료 전지와 배터리를 하나의 컨버터로 구성한다. 따라서 기존에 비해 인덕터 개수가 감소함으로써 경제적이고 높은 전력 밀도 달성할 수 있으며, 스위치의 on/off 동작에 따라 승, 강압 동작이 가능하기 때문에 더 많은 연료전지와 배터리의 전압 조건 상황에서 동작할 수 있다.

  • The BESS has a major advantages such as load leveling, quick response emergency power (spinning reserve), frequency and voltage control, improvement of reliability, and deferred generation and transmission capacity construction. However, the economic feasibility of these systems requires justification from the customer side of meter. In this paper, we proposed the economic evaluation model of BESS which is modified and complemented the SYSPLAN model[2]. In addition, we analyzed a economic evaluation from the economic measures such as payback period, overall benefit, ROI, and ROR.

  • In this paper presents residential PV system based on battery energy storage system for managing the electric power, a pattern of daily operation considering the load characteristic of the house, the generation characteristic of PV power, and utility power leveling. For apply to control algorithm, we consider the load on monthly power consumption trend and daily usage pattern. As for the control of the proposed system, to increase the conversion efficiency of the PV power, bidirectional converter is used for MPPT and SVPWM inverter. An experimental system is implemented, and some experimental results are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed system.

  • To minimize the fuel consumption in the hybrid vehicle, the single performance index, which can express the fuel consumption in engine and electric energe consumption in battery system at the same time, is required. In this study we proposed a single performance index with equivalent BSFC concept, and with this, we constructed driving control algorithm, which can determine optimal gear ratio and power split ratio of the engine and the motor, for the parallel hybrid vehicle. Additionally, to verify the validity of this algorithm, driving simulation is performed.

  • Power module is getting attention from electronic industries such as solar cell, battery and electric vehicles. Transient liquid phase (TLP) boding, sintering with Ag and Cu powders and wire bonding are applied to power module packaging. Sintering is a popular process but it has some disadvantages such as high cost, complex procedures and long bonding time. Meanwhile, TLP bonding has lower bonding temperature, cost effectiveness and less porosity. However, it also needs to improve ductility of the intermetallic compounds (IMCs) at the joint. Wire boding is also an important interconnection process between semiconductor chip and metal lead for direct bonded copper (DBC). In this study, TLP bonding using Sn-based solders and wire bonding process for power electronics packaging are described.

  • High speed brushless permanent magnet (PM) machines are a key technology for electric drives and motion control systems for many application, since they are conductive to high efficiency, high power density small size and low weight. Proposed slotless PM machine is constructed without stator winding slots. Its stator magnetic material is in the form of a ring and winding have a toroidal configuration and its rotor consists of a 4-pole Halbach array or radially magnetized PM rotor.

  • In an electric vehicle driving system, the regeneration power charging the battery with electricity is applied as the driver controls the brake. This paper is proposed a torque compensation algorithm that can regenerate due to extend regeneration area at the low speed of EV system. In order to verify the proposed method, PSIM simulation is performed and it is confirmed that regeneration occurred the proposed method is regenerated at low speed by comparing the existing method with the proposed method.
