실리콘기반 자기유변탄성체의 진동특성 연구 (A Study on the Vibration Characteristics of MR Elastomers Based on Silicon)

  • This paper presents vibration characteristics of magnetorheological(MR) elastomer, whose elastic modulus are controllable by applied magnetic field. By using this property, the material can be applied to vibration absorber, so that the stiffness of the absorber can be changed and actively controlled according to the magnetic flux density. However, the various performances of MR elastomer depends on different polarized direction of particles by applied magnetic field and dimension during the manufacturing process. In this paper, in order to obtain the optimal characteristics of MR elastomer, MR elastomers with different types and dimensions are prepared for a series tests. Using this test setup, extent of natural frequency shifted against magnetic field at various excitation frequencies can be measured. Specimens are prepared with 3 types, as cylinder samples exposed to magnetic field vertically, horizontally and unexposed during cure, respectively. Also, a set of design variables are considered to produce MR elastomers. Through the modal tests of mass structure with MR elastomer, the optimal design as well as the polarization direction of MR elastomer is obtained among the various dimensions and 3 directional types of MR elastomers.

Stochastic vibration response of a sandwich beam with nonlinear adjustable visco-elastomer core and supported mass

  • The stochastic vibration response of the sandwich beam with the nonlinear adjustable visco-elastomer core and supported mass under stochastic support motion excitations is studied. The nonlinear dynamic properties of the visco-elastomer core are considered. The nonlinear partial differential equations for the horizontal and vertical coupling motions of the sandwich beam are derived. An analytical solution method for the stochastic vibration response of the nonlinear sandwich beam is developed. The nonlinear partial differential equations are converted into the nonlinear ordinary differential equations representing the nonlinear stochastic multi-degree-of-freedom system by using the Galerkin method. The nonlinear stochastic system is converted further into the equivalent quasi-linear system by using the statistic linearization method. The frequency-response function, response spectral density and mean square response expressions of the nonlinear sandwich beam are obtained. Numerical results are given to illustrate new stochastic vibration response characteristics and response reduction capability of the sandwich beam with the nonlinear visco-elastomer core and supported mass under stochastic support motion excitations. The influences of geometric and physical parameters on the stochastic response of the nonlinear sandwich beam are discussed, and the numerical results of the nonlinear sandwich beam are compared with those of the sandwich beam with linear visco-elastomer core.

향상된 폴리우레탄 기반 자기유변탄성체의 마찰 마모 특성연구 (Friction and Wear Properties of Improved Polyurethane Based Magneto-Rheological Elastomer)

  • Typical magneto-rheological (MR) elastomers consist of silicon-based material. A number of studies have been carried out to evaluate the vibration and tribological characteristics of silicon-based MR e-lastomers. However, these elastomers have quite low strength, so they have low wear resistance. In this study, polyurethane-based MR elastomers with performances better than those of MR elastomers. Experiments have been conducted on different MR elastomers (Pu MR elastomer, Pu-Si MR elastomer, and Pu-wrapped-Si MR elastomer) and different predefined magnetic directions (Non-Direction, Vertical Direction, and Horizontal Directionality) to evaluate the friction and wear performance under a magnetic field. The results show that Pu-wrapped-Si MR elastomer with a horizontal predefined magnetic field has the best performance in terms of wear.

  • 고무탄성체가 연료와 접촉하면 저분자량의 고무성분이나 첨가제 등이 연료에 의해 용출되면서 고무의 물성을 변화시키고 연료의 물성에도 영향을 미치게 된다. 본 연구에서는 고무탄성체 중 밀봉재로 사용되는 고무 오링이 연료와 장기간 접촉하고 있을 때 고무 오링의 수명을 예측하기 위해 접촉 연료의 부피와 온도, 저장시간에 따라 고무 오링의 물성치로 무게, 부피, 두께, 경도, 인장강도, 신장율 및 영구압축줄음율 측정하여 변화정도를 측정하였다. 또한 연료의 GC분석을 통해 순도변화를 분석하고 총발열량을 측정하여 고무 접촉에 의한 연료의 열화정도를 측정하였다. 이러한 측정결과는 수명을 예측하기 위한 기본 자료로 사용할 예정이다.

탄성중합체 함유량 변화에 따른 폴리아미드-6,6/탄성중합체 블랜드물의 특성 (Properties of PA 6,6/Elastomer Blends with Various Elastomer Content)

  • 본 연구는 용융법에 의한 폴리아미드 6,6(PA 6,6)과 에틸렌-프로필렌 고무(EPM) 및 무수 말레인산 그라프팅 EPM(EPM-g-MA)과 블랜딩시 탄성중합체 함유량 변화에 따른 이성분 PA 6,6/ EPM[EPM-g-MA] 블랜드물과 EPM:EPM-g-MA 조성비(wt%) 변화에 따른 삼성분 PA 6,6/ EPM/EPM-g-MA 블랜드물을 제조하여 블랜드물 내 탄성중합체의 평균 입자크기, 입자 형상 및 분포 등의 변화를 분석하고 이에 따른 블랜드물의 기계적, 열적 특성변화를 고찰하였다. 본 연구결과, 이성분 블랜드물 중 PA 6,6/EPM-g-MA 블랜드물은 PA 6,6/EPM 블랜드물에 비하여 EPM-g-MA의 평균 입자크기와 분포, 충격강도 및 상대결정화도 등이 향상되었고 PA 6,6/ EPM-g-MA 블랜드물 중 가장 큰 충격강도의 향상을 보인 PA 6,6/EPM-I-MA(70/30) 블랜드물은 폴리아미드 6,6의 충격강도에 비하여 약 25배 향상되었으며 상대결정화도는 약 7배 증가하였다. 그리고 삼성분 블랜드물 중 조성비가 70:15:15(PA 6,6 :EPM:EPM-g-MA)일 때 블랜드물 내탄성중합체 평균 입자크기는 $0.56{\mu}m$이면서 고른 입자분포를 얻을 수 있었을 뿐만 아니라 이러한 블랜드물의 충격강도는 제조된 모든 블랜드물의 충격강도에 비하여 가장 높았다.

  • In this work the potential, and the perspectives of the dielectric elastomer actuator are overviewed briefly. As an exemplary work, we introduce a novel contractile artificial muscle actuator based on Synthetic Elastomer(SE). SE is the name of new dielectric elastomer material we have developed and its synthesis procedures and evaluations are described in the first. The contractile artificial muscle actuator is made by stacking the actuator unit one by one along the in thickness direction and finished up by bonding the multi-stacked actuator. Its possibility for the robotic actuator is discussed and demonstrated via experiments.

  • In this paper, we investigated insulation property of epoxy resin which includes elastomers to improve mechanical property, as varied to additive elastomer contents and to moisture absorption. There are four samples with 5[phr], 10[phr], 15[phr] and 20[phr]. we experimented to acquire insulation property(absorption rate, dissolution rate, apparent rate) and electrical property(perittivity, $tan\delta$, BDV) during respectively the time such as 6[h], 12[h], 18[h], 24[h] for moisture absorption. According to the experimental results, it is appeared that when the additive elastomer contents are increasing or when specimens remain more moisture, absorption rate, dissolution rate, permittivity and $tan\delta$ are slightly increasing but apparent rate and BDV(break-Down Voltage) strength are decreasing in particular, elastomer content [20]phr appeared remarkedly the more increase or decrease than others.

  • 기존의 올레핀계 열가소성 탄성체와 스티렌계 열가소성 탄성체는 넓은 경도 범위, 양호한 내굴곡성, 낮은 밀도, 용이한 리사이클성 등으로 열가소성 탄성체 시장에서 가장 많이 사용되고 있으나, 기존 고무 대비 낮은 탄성과 낮은 사용 온도 등으로 그 사용에 제약을 받고 있다. 이를 극복하기 위하여 올레핀/스티렌 또는 올레핀/$\alpha$-올레핀 공중합체를 이용한 열가소성 탄성체의 개발이 이루어지고 있다. 본 보문에서는 해당 탄성체들의 개발 예와 특성들에 대해 소개하였다. 올레핀/스티렌과 올레핀/$\alpha$-올레핀 공중합체는 현재까지 여러 가지 단점을 안고 있지만, 향후 큰 가능성을 지닌 재료라 할 수 있다.

  • In this paper, the elastic epoxy added elastomer having viscoelasticity to existing epoxy was measured thermal, structural properties through TGA(Thermogravimetric Analysis) and FESEM(Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope). Specimens were made of dumbbell forms by the ratio of 5[phr], 10[phr], 15[phr], and 20[phr] by regulation with elastomer contents. The measurement temperature dimensions of TGA were $0[^{\circ}C]\;to\;800[^{\circ}C]$, and rising temperature was $5[^{\circ}C/min]$. And we observed structure through FESEM at the magnification of 1000times with the voltage of 15[kV] after breaking by quenching specimens. As thermal analysis results, we could know that thermal and structural properties was improved quantity according to decrease of elastomer contents. In general, thermal, structural properties of 15[phr] was excellent among the specimens.
