To develop the artificial spawning seaweeds of the sandfish, Arctoscopus japonicus, the effects by the material type of artificial spawning seaweeds were investigated at Dongsan port in Gangwon-do from December 2006 to March 2007. Sargassum fulvellum, S. horneri, rope and net were used as materials for artificial spawning seaweeds, and the most effective thing among them was S. fulvellum. A. japonicus began to attach the egg mass to artificial spawning seaweeds when sea temperature dropped below 10${^{\circ}C}$ in December, spawned heavily when it was around 8${^{\circ}C}$ in January, and completed the behavior when it started to increase over 10${^{\circ}C}$ in February. The hatching period of eggs was estimated to be about 60 days. The middle position in artificial spawning seaweed had the highest number of egg masses and the diameter of the egg mass ranged from 25mm to 62mm. Based on the result for the effects, the artificial spawning seaweeds of A. japonicus were developed and it is possible to use them to form seaweed forests or spawning grounds of other species.
To avoid ambiguity in counting the number of colony, about 1,500 of colonies grown on B. cereus selective agar plates were grouped into 12 types by morphological difference and then identified by biochemical and 16S rDNA nucleotide sequence. Among them, seven colony types with 11 to 15 mm diameters of halo were identified as B. cereus or B. cereus subsp. cytotoxis. Five mm sized colonies with no halo, which have not been considered as B. cereus according to the manufacturer's manual, were identified as B. cereus. A colony type with double halos of only 6 mm in diameter was also B. cereus. Other three types were proven to be Enterococcus sp., Brevibacillus sp., and B. subtilis, respectively. PCR results showed that only 9 types that are identified as B. cereus strains harbor at least one of B. cereus toxin genes.

This study is conducted to monitor the morphological developmental features of the egg development, larvae and juvenile of Epinephelus septemfasciatus, the fertilized eggs were gotton using artificial insemination. Matured parents are collected from marine caged fish farms in Geomun-ri, Samsan-myeon, Yeosu-si, Jeollanamdo Korea in June 2012. The fertilized eggs were pelagic eggs containing one oil globule, and measured 0.81~0.89 mm ($0.85{\pm}0.04mm$, n=50) in diameter. In regard to rearing environment, the water temperature is $21.0{\sim}23.0^{\circ}C$ and the salinity is 32.0~33.2‰. Hatching was observed from 48 hours after fertilization, the mouth and anus of prelarvae was not opened but had egg yolk at newly hatched. 4 days after hatching, the mouth and anus of postlarvae was opened and began to eat Rotifer and was measured 2.40~2.49 mm ($2.45{\pm}0.03mm$ n=10) in total length. 12 days after hatching, postlarvae was measured 3.77~4.67 mm ($4.27{\pm}0.33mm$) in total length, its the second pole tide of dorsal fin and the first pole tide of pelvic fin was extended longitudinally. 71 days after hatching, juvenile was measured 40.5~45.4 mm ($42.6{\pm}2.04mm$) in total length. Seven bands were observed in body, and pole tides of dorsal and pelvic fins were shortened.
In order to obtain the basic biological data for artificial seedling production of sea cucumber, Stichopus japonicus, the influence of water temperature and air dry for spawning induction, egg development and larvae rearing was investigated during the period from April, 1995 through September, 1995. Spawning induction rate by the water temperature was 6.0~17.5% and air dry was responsed 1.4~4.0%. Number of eggs spawned of Stichopus japonicus were $50~500\times10^4$ individuals, the fertilization and hatching rate were ranged 84.0~96.0%, 71.4~84.6% respectively. The fertilized egg of Stichopus japonicus appeared mean diameter of $154{\mu}m$. At a constant water temperature of $23^{circ)C$, it become 4 tell stage from fertilization after 2 hours 10 minutes, hatching larvae after 14 hours half, auricularia larvae after 3 days, doliolaria larvare after 11 days and pentactula larvae after 15 days ready for settlement. The suitable food in the larvae reared for 17 days after fertilization were shown the best growth and survival in the larvae food of Chaetoceros calcitrans. Optimum density for larvae rearing were maintained of the larval density lower than 2 individuals/ml.
The egg development and early life history of Korean endangered natural monument fish, Iksookimia choii, were investigated in 2006. The eggs from the females were obtained by injecting 10 IU $g^{-1}$ of human chorionic gonadotropin and inseminated by wet method in the laboratory. The fertilized eggs were $1.1\sim1.3mm$ in diameter and had no oil globules. Hatching of the embryo began about 24 hrs after fertilization under water temperature of $25^{\circ}C$. The newly-hatched larvae were $2.5\sim2.7mm$ in total length (TL), and their mouth and anus were not yet opened. Six days after hatching, the postlarvae were $4.7\sim5.4mm$ TL, and tip of the caudal notochord was flexed $45^{\circ}$ upward. The juveniles stage was reached when all fin-rays were formed at 35 days after hatching, and their total length were $20\sim22mm$.

In this study, the reproductive behavior and embryonic and larval development of the short ninespine stickleback Pungitius kaibarae was described and illustrated based on observations during spawning, hatching, and larval rearing trials. Adult P. kaibarae were collected downstream in Jinhae during the reproductive season (April-May). Males had nuptial coloration on their entire black bodies, with blue dorsal spines and yellow eyes, whereas females had a brown spotted pattern on their bodies. Males built nests on the stems of water weeds and attracted females. Fertilization occurred in the nest immediately after spawning, and males guarded the eggs until hatching. The fertilized eggs of P. kaibarae were spherical, demersal, adhesive, and transparent, and each egg measured 1.43 ± 0.07 mm in diameter. The morula, blastula, and gastrula stages, as well as hatching began at 5, 18.5, 21.5, and 96 post fertilization (HPF), respectively, at 20.0 ± 0.5℃. The newly hatched larvae had a total length (TL) of 5.67 ± 0.50 mm, with a yolk volume of 0.583 ± 0.059 mm3. Their mouths and anuses had not yet opened. At 2 days posthatching (days post hatching, DPH), the yolk was completely absorbed and the larvae began to feed exogenously. Pigmentation was observed in freshly hatched larvae 4 h after hatching, with the presence of eight areas with a dotted pattern on the dorsal surface of the larvae and dispersed spots on the head and yolk sac. At 30 DPH, the TL of the juveniles was 21.34 ± 1.70 mm. The nest area and number of eggs were 259.56 ± 101.39 mm2 (75.18-506.04) and 155.33 ± 114.12 (0-437), respectively.
The rising prices of landfills and the lack of cement production are motivating researchers to be more interested in using wastes to produce concrete mixtures materials. The use of waste materials such as eggshell and matakoline waste not only reduces landfill costs and space, but also reduces the cost of cement production for the concrete mixture. However, recycling waste materials has become critical in order to effectively manage environmental sustainability. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the appropriate properties of self-compacting concrete (SCC) by incorporating waste materials such as crushed ceramics as coarse aggregate and nano egg shell (NES) and nanoclay (NC) as cement replacements. Fresh properties of SCC, such as segregation, flow time and diameter, V-funnel, H2/H1 ratio, and fresh unit weight of concrete mixtures, as well as hardened properties, such as 7, 14, and 28 days compressive strength and 28 and 90 days flexural strength, were measured for this purpose. The presence of NC in the SCC mixture enhanced the compressive strength of the concrete when 5% of NES was added or in the case without the addition of NES compared to the control mixture. The flexural strength enhanced with the incorporation of NC in the SCC increased the flexural strength of the concrete compared to the control mixture, but the incorporation of 5% of NES decreased the flexural strength compared to the mixtures with NC. These results prove the possibility of using crushed ceramics as the coarse aggregate, and NES and NC as substitutes for 5, 7, and 10% of the cement in SCC, because the properties of such SCC in hardened and fresh states are satisfactory.

The gametogenesis, reproductive cycle, frequency distribution of egg diameter and fecundity of spotted sea bass Lateolabrax maculatus were investigated by histological observation. The samples were collected at Goheung, Jeonam from December 1996 to November 1997. Gonadosomatic index (CSI) was appeared less than 1.0 in female and male from December to July and began to increase from August and reached the maximum values of female 7.50 and male 2.98 in October. Hepatosomatic index (HSI) was appeared annual maximum value of female 1.97 and male 1.64 in March and then decreased from April. The annual reproductive cycle of this species can be divided into four successive stages: growing stage (July to August), maturation stage (September to October), ripe and spawning stage (October to November) and degeneration and resting stage (November to July). According to the frequency distribution of egg diameter, the development mode of egg was not seperated, formed one mode for the maturation and spawning season, The individual absolute fecundity ranges from $1,726,242\~17,822,576$ eggs, and individual relative fecundity ranges from $29,458\~214,730$ eggs in total length (cm) and $938\~3,363$ eggs in body weight (g). Female and male of L. maculatus were matured when total length were over 50.1 and 45.1 cm, respectively.
The characteristics of 11 spawning sites in the natural environment of the Korean endemic species, Liobagrus somjinensis were investigated in the Yocheon (stream) of Seomjingang (river), located in Sikjeong-dong, Namwon-si, Jeollabuk-do, Korea from May to June 2015. The spawning sites had largely two parts, the upper region close to the surface of the waters and under region at bottom: the upper part was covered with a large and flat boulder over about 256 mm in size, whereas the under part consisted mainly of pebbles and sand. The large boulder put on the upper region may be seen as a bulwark for guarding eggs laid at the under (bottom) region. All the sites under the boulder showed a similar structure having a small hollow filled with an egg mass and an individual (male). The spawning bottoms left clean having no any benthic invertebrates and detritus. The egg shape was spherical, yellow and covered with a transparent membrane and the egg size was $3.31{\pm}0.15mm$ (n=30) in diameter. The development stage of each egg mass under the boulder was almost same from morula stage to formation stage of eye lens. The average number of eggs in 11 spawning sites was $121{\pm}35.5$ (84~176) and the average number of female fecundity in ovary was $143{\pm}31.3$ (110~232).
